RESUMEN

Background: HPV vaccine is an effective measure to prevent and control the diseases caused by Human Papillomavirus (HPV). This study addresses the development of VaxBot-HPV, a chatbot aimed at improving health literacy and promoting vaccination uptake by providing information and answering questions about the HPV vaccine. Methods: We constructed the knowledge base (KB) for VaxBot-HPV, which consists of 451 documents from biomedical literature and web sources on the HPV vaccine. We extracted 202 question-answer pairs from the KB and 39 questions generated by GPT-4 for training and testing purposes. To comprehensively understand the capabilities and potential of GPT-based chatbots, three models were involved in this study : GPT-3.5, VaxBot-HPV, and GPT-4. The evaluation criteria included answer relevancy and faithfulness. Results: VaxBot-HPV demonstrated superior performance in answer relevancy and faithfulness compared to baselines (Answer relevancy: 0.85; Faithfulness: 0.97) for the test questions in KB, (Answer relevancy: 0.85; Faithfulness: 0.96) for GPT generated questions. Conclusions: This study underscores the importance of leveraging advanced language models and fine-tuning techniques in the development of chatbots for healthcare applications, with implications for improving medical education and public health communication.

Introduction: Online question-and-answer (Q&A) platforms are frequently replete with extensive human resource support. This study proposes a novel methodology of a customized large language model (LLM) called Chaotic LLM-based Educational Q&A System (CHAQS) to navigate the complexities associated with intelligent Q&A systems for the educational sector. Methods: It uses an expansive dataset comprising over 383,000 educational data pairs, an intricate fine-tuning process encompassing p-tuning v2, low-rank adaptation (LRA), and strategies for parameter freezing at an open-source large language model ChatGLM as a baseline model. In addition, Fuzzy Logic is implemented to regulate parameters and the system's adaptability with the Lee Oscillator to refine the model's response variability and precision. Results: Experiment results showed a 5.12% improvement in precision score, an 11% increase in recall metric, and an 8% improvement in the F1 score as compared to other models. Discussion: These results suggest that the CHAQS methodology significantly enhances the performance of educational Q&A systems, demonstrating the effectiveness of combining advanced tuning techniques and fuzzy logic for improved model precision and adaptability.

Objective: Sleep quality is a crucial concern, particularly among youth. The integration of health coaching with question-answering (QA) systems presents the potential to foster behavioural changes and enhance health outcomes. This study proposes a novel human-AI sleep coaching model, combining health coaching by peers and a QA system, and assesses its feasibility and efficacy in improving university students' sleep quality. Methods: In a four-week unblinded pilot randomised controlled trial, 59 university students (mean age: 21.9; 64% males) were randomly assigned to the intervention (health coaching and QA system; n = 30) or the control conditions (QA system; n = 29). Outcomes included efficacy of the intervention on sleep quality (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index; PSQI), objective and self-reported sleep measures (obtained from Fitbit and sleep diaries) and feasibility of the study procedures and the intervention. Results: Analysis revealed no significant differences in sleep quality (PSQI) between intervention and control groups (adjusted mean difference = -0.51, 95% CI: [-1.55-0.77], p = 0.40). The intervention group demonstrated significant improvements in Fitbit measures of total sleep time (adjusted mean difference = 32.5, 95% CI: [5.9-59.1], p = 0.02) and time in bed (adjusted mean difference = 32.3, 95% CI: [2.7-61.9], p = 0.03) compared to the control group, although other sleep measures were insignificant. Adherence was high, with the majority of the intervention group attending all health coaching sessions. Most participants completed baseline and post-intervention self-report measures, all diary entries, and consistently wore Fitbits during sleep. Conclusions: The proposed model showed improvements in specific sleep measures for university students and the feasibility of the study procedures and intervention. Future research may extend the intervention period to see substantive sleep quality improvements.

The paper analyzes the documents related to the foreign medical automatic Question Answering (QA) system,and compares the differences between automatic QA and traditional network information retrieval,describes the automatic QA system in the aspects of application researches,common tools and relevant technologies.Combining foreign related researches,it also discusses the current key problems of medical automatic QA system and the implications for China in order to offer reference for further research.
