RESUMEN

To explore the effects of different disturbance patterns on restoring the health of an infected stand, concentrated disturbance of not cutting trees before 10 years after infection, mode-rate disturbance of cutting infected pine trees, and strong distrubance of cutting infected pine trees, the neighboring trees and poorly growing pine trees were compared in a pure Pinus massomiana plantation infected by Bursaphelenchus xylophlius in Anji, Zhejiang, China. After 16 years, the importance values of P. massoniana in the three treatments were: concentrated disturbance > mode-rate disturbance > strong disturbance. However, the importance values of broad-leaved trees showed the opposite trend. Compared with the concentrated disturbance, the average DBH of P. massoniana in the moderate and strong disturbance treatments were 1.2 and 1.7 times higher, respectively, and those of broad-leaved species were 1.3 and 1.9 times higher, respectively. The average height of pine trees in the moderate and strong disturbance treatments increased 1.5 and 2.0 times, respectively, and those of broad-leaved species 1.2 and 1.8 times, respectively. The tree volume per hectare in moderate and strong disturbance treatments were 5.2 and 3.8 times that of concentrated disturbance treatment, respectively. In the moderate and strong disturbance treatments, the number of trees in each diameter class was greater than in the concentrated disturbance treatment. The stand diameter distribution in the multi-storied moderate and strong disturbance treatments followed an inverse J-shaped curve. The species richness and biodiversity were significantly higher in the mode-rate and strong disturbance treatments than in the concentrated disturbance treatment. The individual size inequality and structural complexity indices followed the order of moderate disturbance > strong disturbance > concentrated disturbance. Under moderate and strong disturbance treatments, the single-storied and evenly aged pure P. massoniana plantation became multi-storied and unevenly aged mixed stands. All the three disturbance patterns promoted the succession of broad-leaved trees, with the pace of succession in the order of strong disturbance > moderate disturbance > concentrated disturbance. In conclusion, moderate disturbance achieved better restoration. Thinning pure P. massoniana plantation could accelerate the succession of a mixed stand to enhance resistance against Bursaphelenchus xylophlius invasion.

RESUMEN

Health ⅦProject was first implemented and financed by the international organizations in Shanghai from 1996 to 2002.It is an innovative, representative and advanced project of preventing and controlling non-communicable disease ( NCD) by means of health promotion. The project subverted the traditional means and methods in chronic disease prevention and control, introduced the advanced international theory and methods, and explored the health promotion methods suitable for China's national conditions in NCD, STD/AIDS and accidental injuries prevention and control. These yielded good project results and effective experiences were expected to be generalized widely. The project consisted of four aspects: organization development and policy reform, human resource development, surveillance and intervention, which were linked up each other and mutually promoted. The strategies design adopted principles of localization focusing on health promotion, intervention different in strategies to specific risk factors and for different targeted population, emphasis on the implementation framework of comprehensive intervention. The project had not only achieved distinct results, but also introduced and localized an advanced international health promotion idea and methods of NCD prevention and control. And innovatively were developed successful integrated NCD control pattern, implementation framework and technical route.Meanwhile, a team of professionals in NCD prevention and control had been trained. Considering the sustainability, the study suggests five critical links and three sustainable development factors in NCD comprehensive prevention.Proposals are given as to how to integrate health education and health promotion into disease prevention and control .

RESUMEN

Objective To investigate the effects of OGP (10-14) and its derivate H86A on bone metrology in rats with ovariecto-my-reduced osteoporosis. Methods Thirty-two female Sprague-Dawley rats, three months old, were randomly divided into 4 groups. Rats in groups 1 to 3 were bilaterally ovariectomized(OVX) and the others in group 4 were sham-operated. After the operation, rats in group 1 and group 2 were received derivate of OGP(10-14) H86A daily at different concentration. Group 3 were given placebo. Rats were killed after 12 weeks. Left tibias were disconnected and made into non-decalcified bone slice, and then they were detected and analyzed on indexes which were relative with bone metrology. Results Compared with Group 3, no other indexes except OV/BV was obviously different in rats with high dose H86A (P

RESUMEN

Objective To explore the intervention patterns which people are apt to accept and medical staff operate them simply and conveniently for primary osteoporosis in community. Methods With cluster random sampling method, 850 residents who met the selective standards were selected from four communities. Every community was divided into five districts; each district took one of intervention patterns, including health lectures, home visiting, telephone interviewing, follow-up letter, fixed-point counseling, etc. At the end of two years' intervention, all of subjects accepted the final investigation, data were collected and analyzed. Results The acceptance rates of intervention patterns were 94.0% for telephone interviewing, 89.2% for home visiting, 70.6% for health lectures, 27.2% for letter follow-up and 19.5% for fixed-point counseling. The recognition rates of manipulating these measures in medical staff were 78.9% for telephone interviewing, 70.7% for health lectures, 66.7% for home visiting, 22.2% for letter follow-up and 15.0% for fixed-point counseling. The ratio of cost to effectiveness of telephone interviewing was 1.79 which was the minimum, but the ratio of cost to effectiveness of fixed-point counseling was the maximum which was 13.79. Conclusion Health lectures, home visiting and telephone interviewing are applicable intervention measures to prevent POP in community.
