[Immune status of patients with chronic bronchitis and neurocirculatory asthenia]. / Osobennosti immunnogo statusa bol'nykh khronicheskim bronkhitom s priznakami sindroma vegetativnoi distonii.

AIM: To study changes in immune system of patients with various forms of chronic bronchitis (CB) and neurocirculatory asthenia (NCA). MATERIAL AND METHODS: Neurological and immunological examinations were made in 84 patients with CB exacerbation and 51 control subjects. RESULTS: It was found that 60% of CB patients had NCA. No negative effects of NCA on immune system in CB patients were registered. Suppression of immune system and secondary immunodeficiency occurred more frequently in CB patients without signs of NCA. 40% of CB patients had vagotonic NCA in which immunological disorders manifested most clearly. CONCLUSION: Vegetative disorders in CB patients do not affect immunological system. Functional testing of autonomic nervous system is suggested for prediction of immune system condition.

[The effect of phyto-air ionization on the main homeostatic systems in patients with neurocirculatory dystonia and essential hypertension]. / Vliianie fitoaéroionizatsii na osnovnye gomeostaticheskie sistemy bol'nykh neirotsirkuliatornoi distoniei i éssentsial'noi gipertenziei.

We used phytoaeroionization in patients with neurocirculatory asthenia and essential hypertension. We discovered a favourable influence of phytoaeroionization on function of the brain and its hemodynamics. It also reduced the immunity response tension, activated hormone regulation, promoted mobilization of energetic resources of the organism which contribute to improvement of adaptation processes.

[Characteristics of secondary immunodeficiency in patients with neurocirculatory dystonia]. / Kharakteristika vtorichnogo immunodefitsita u bol'nykh tsirkuliatornoi distoniei.

AIM: Investigation of clinical-laboratory parameters of secondary immunodeficiency (SID) in patients with neurocirculatory dystonia (NSD). MATERIALS AND METHODS: Vegetative and immunological statuses were assessed in 104 males aged 30 to 57 years with NSD exposed to 0.01-0.1 Gy radiation after the Chernobyl accident. RESULTS: The patients were diagnosed to have SID the types and forms of which differed with NSD type. Symptoms of SID were evident in 29, 18, 13 and 83% of patients with mixed, hypotonic, hypertonic NSD, NSD without somatic disorders, respectively. CONCLUSION: As 85% of the examinees had SID, it is necessary to treat NSD with immunomodulation adjusted to each NSD type.

[Seasonal changes of secondary immunodeficiency in patients with vascular dystonia]. / Sezonnye izmeneniia struktury vtorichnogo immunodefitsita u bol'nykh s vegetososudistoi distoniei.

The examination of 60 patients with vascular dystonia (VD) and immunological disorders shows that secondary immunodeficiency is not a stable condition. It is associated with seasons of the year and VD variants. Secondary immunodeficiency is more pronounced in winter. A correlation exists between mixed vegetative vascular dystonia and combined T-lymphocyte secondary immunodeficiency in winter. The findings may help in planning immunotherapy in "critical seasons" for patients with vegetative disorders.

[Nondrug methods for the rehabilitation of participants in the cleanup of the aftermath of accident at the Chernobyl Atomic Electric Power Station who have neurocirculatory dystonia and hypertension]. / Nemedikamentoznye metody reabilitatsii uchastnikov likvidatsii posledstvii avarii na Chernobyl'skoi AES s neirotsirkuliatornoi distoniei i gipertonicheskoi bolezn'iu.

Among cardiovascular diseases registered in the Chernobyl wreckers neurocirculatory dystonia and hypertension occur most frequently. Combined treatment including electric sleep, iodinebromine baths, therapeutic exercise, massage relieves clinical symptoms, promotes positive rearrangement of hemodynamics, a decrease in myocardial hyperkinesis and vegetative dysfunction, an increase in cardiovascular reserves, correction of hypersympathicotonia and immune disorders.

[Effect of biotechnological industrial factors on immune system reactivity]. / O vliianii faktorov biotekhnologicheskogo proizvodstva na reaktivnost immunnoi systemy.

Screening in employees of enterprise producing antibiotics has revealed higher occurrence of allergic (39.6%) and gastrointestinal diseases. Some examinees (5.4%) demonstrated immune deficiency, the share of 8.3% were diagnosed as having cardiovascular neurosis. Further investigations involved bioluminescent and cytochemical studies of oxidation-reduction enzymes in white blood cells. Those studies proved lower serum activity of the enzymes in all the examinees including apparently healthy individuals. There was no significant difference between the health and ill employees, apart from the patients with immune deficiency. Ratio of CA to serotonin concentrations in the cells provided the most valuable information, being a diagnostic criterion for the diseases mentioned.

[Neurocirculatory dystonia: views on its etiology, pathogenesis and methods of therapy]. / Neirotsirkuliatornaia distoniia: vzgliady na étiologiiu, patogenez, metody terapii.

Basing on their psychophysiological, immunological and clinical findings, the authors emphasize the role of chronic infection, occupational hazards, adaptation to new climatic and social environment in pathogenesis of neurocirculatory asthenia (NA). The disease is also associated with sensitization to streptococcus, allergization, adverse effects of circulating immune complexes, impaired relationships between CNS and immune system. It is suggested that NA arises consequently to genetic determination of regulation process desynchronization. A new effective NA treatment is proposed comprising in addition to conventional treatment a course of UHF-inductothermia to the chest and anterior mediastinum conducted in conditions of short-term and low-intensity regimen of the exposure.

The immune state of 77 cleanup workers of Chernobyl power plant accident suffering from vegetative dystonia was studied. The group of comparison consisted of 10 vegetative dystonia patients, who were not subjected to the ionizing radiation influence. The workers showed no specific changes of immunity, but immune state disturbances among them were more frequent and more pronounced that in ordinary vegetative dystonia patients.
