BACKGROUND: Prolonged obstructive jaundice (OJ), associated with resectable pancreatic pathology, has many deleterious effects that are potentially rectifiable by preoperative biliary drainage (POBD) at the cost of increased postoperative infective complications. The aim of this study is to assess the impact of POBD on intraoperative biliary cultures (IBCs) and surgical outcomes in patients undergoing pancreatic resection. METHODS: Data from patients at Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town, between October 2008 and May 2019 were analysed. Demographic, clinical, and outcome variables were evaluated, including perioperative morbidity, mortality, and 5-year survival. RESULTS: Among 128 patients, 69.5% underwent POBD. The overall perioperative mortality in this study was 8.8%. The POBD group had a significantly lower perioperative mortality rate compared to the non-drainage group (5.6% vs. 25.6%). POBD patients had a higher incidence of surgical site infections (55.1% vs. 23.1%), polymicrobial growth from IBCs and were more likely to culture resistant organisms. Five-year survival was similar in the two groups. CONCLUSION: POBD was associated with a high incidence of resistant organisms on the IBCs, a high incidence of surgical site infections and a high correlation between cultures from the surgical site infection and the IBCs.

BACKGROUND: Subjective cognitive decline (SCD) is defined as an individual's perception of sustained cognitive decline compared to their normal state while still performing within boundaries for normal functioning. Demographic, psychosocial and medical factors have been linked to age-related cognitive decline, and Alzheimer's dementia (AD). However, their relation to risk for SCD remains unclear. This study aims to identify demographic factors, psychosocial and cardiovascular health associated with SCD within the Brain Health Registry (BHR) online cohort. METHODS: Participants aged 55+ (N=27,596) in the BHR self-reported SCD measured using the Everyday Cognition Scale (ECog) and medical conditions, depressive symptoms, body mass index, quality of sleep, health, family history of AD, years of education, race, ethnicity and gender. Multivariable linear regression was used to examine whether SCD was associated with demographic, psychosocial, and medical conditions. RESULTS: We found that advanced age, depressive symptoms, poorer sleep quality and poorer quality of health were positively associated with more self-reported SCD in all models. No race or ethnicity differences were found in association with SCD. Males who reported alcohol and tobacco use or underweight BMI had higher ECog scores compared with females. CONCLUSION: In addition to well-established risk factors for cognitive decline, such as age, our study consistently and robustly identified a strong association between psychosocial factors and self-reported cognitive decline in an online cohort. These findings provide further evidence that psychosocial health plays a pivotal role in comprehending the risk of SCD and early-stage cognitive ageing. Our findings emphasise the significance of psychosocial factors within the broader context of cardiovascular and demographic risk factors.

Background: Head start (HS) programs are required to collect children's height and weight data. Programs also communicate these results to families. However, no standardized protocol exists to guide measurements or communicate results. The purpose of this article was to describe the development of a measurement toolkit and best practices for communication. Methods: HS programs contributed to the development and pilot testing of a toolkit for HS staff to guide child measurement. We used a three-phase iterative approach and qualitative methods to develop and test the toolkit, which included a video and handout. In addition, we convened an advisory group to draft best practices for communication. Results: HS program staff appreciated the toolkit materials for their simplicity and content. The advisory group highlighted the importance of weight stigma and the need to be cautious in the way that information is communicated to families. The group underscored the role of emphasizing health behavior change, instead of focusing solely on BMI. Best practices were organized into (1) Policies and procedures for communicating screening results, (2) training for HS program staff to improve communication related to screening and health behaviors, and (3) other best practices to promote health behaviors and coordinate data systems. Conclusions: Our toolkit can improve anthropometric measurements of HS to ensure that potential surveillance data are accurate. Advisory group best practices highlight opportunities for HS to develop and implement policies, procedures, and trainings across the country to improve communication with HS families. Future research should test the implementation of these best practices within HS.

Most school-based prevention curricula for young children fail to address multiple types of abuse and limit instruction to a single day, despite evidence that polyvictimization is common and children learn better when allowed to practice material repeatedly. This study utilized a cluster randomized control trial design to evaluate a multi-abuse prevention program, the Monique Burr Foundation for Children (MBF) Child Safety Matters®, based on varying lesson structure. Participants included nine Florida schools consisting of 843 children in grades K-2. Schools were randomized within cluster to implement in two lessons, four lessons, or after study data collection (i.e., control group). Lessons averaged 34 minutes (SD = 8.8 minutes) in length for 2-lesson group and 23.6 minutes (SD = 6.9 minutes) for the 4-lesson condition. Knowledge was assessed before implementation and on average 11 weeks after implementation. There were no statistical differences between clusters. Controlling for pre-test scores, schools in the four-lesson group scored highest on a measure of knowledge of potentially risky and unsafe situations (M = 69.68, SE = .80) on post-test, followed by schools in the two-lesson group (M = 67.31, SE = .77), followed by schools in the control group (M = 62.92, SE = .76). Results support use of more frequent, shorter lessons for prevention programs and the promise of addressing multiple forms of child victimization.

Localized increases in neuronal activity are supported by the hemodynamic response, which delivers oxygen to the brain tissue to support synaptic functions, action potentials and other neuronal processes. However, it remains unknown if changes in baseline neuronal activity, which are expected to reflect neuronal metabolic demand, alter the relationship between the local hemodynamic and oxygen behaviour. In order to better characterize this system, we examine here the relationship between brain tissue oxygen (PO2) and hemodynamic responses (BOLD functional MRI) under different levels of neuronal activity. By comparing the stimulus-evoked responses during different levels of baseline neuronal activity, the awake state vs isoflurane anesthesia, we were able to measure how a known change in neuronal demand affected tissue PO2 as well as the hemodynamic response to stimulation. We observed a high correlation between stimulus-evoked PO2 and BOLD responses in the awake state. Moreover, we found that the evoked PO2 and BOLD responses were still present despite the elevated tissue oxygen baseline and decreased baseline of neuronal activity under low concentration isoflurane, and that the magnitudes of these responses decreased by similar proportions but the relationship between these signals was distorted. Our findings point to distortion of the BOLD-PO2 relationship due to anesthesia. The feedback mechanism to adjust the level of brain tissue oxygen, as well as the correlation between BOLD and PO2 responses, are impaired even by a small dose of anesthetics.

Background: There is a need to develop non-invasive practical lifestyle interventions for preventing Alzheimer's disease (AD) in people at risk, such as those with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Blueberry consumption has been associated with reduced risk of dementia in some epidemiologic studies and with improvements in cognition in healthy aging adults. Blood-based biomarkers have emerged at the forefront of AD therapeutics research spurred by the development of reliable ultra-sensitive "single-molecule array" assays with 100-1000-fold greater sensitivity over traditional platforms. Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of blueberry supplementation in MCI on six blood biomarkers: amyloid-beta 40 (Aß40), amyloid-beta 42 (Aß42), phosphorylated Tau181 (ptau181), neurofilament light (NfL), Glial Fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP), and Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF). Methods: This was a 12-week, open-label, pilot trial of 10 participants with MCI (mean age 80.2 years + 5.16). Subjects consumed 36 grams per day of lyophilized blueberry powder in a split dose consumed with breakfast and dinner. Baseline and endpoint venous blood was analyzed using an ultrasensitive SIMOA assay. Our aim was to test if blueberry supplementation would particularly impact p-tau181, NfL, and GFAP elevations associated with the neurodegenerative process. Results: There were no statistically significant (p < 0.05) changes from baseline to endpoint for any of the biomarker values or in the ratios of Aß42 / Aß40 and ptau181/ Aß42. Adverse effects were mild and transient; supplementation was relatively well tolerated with all subjects completing the study. Conclusion: To our knowledge, this is the first study to prospectively examine the effects of blueberry supplementation on a panel of blood biomarkers reflecting the neurodegenerative process. Our findings raise two possibilities - a potential stabilization of the neurodegenerative process or a lack of a direct and acute effect on beta-amyloid/tau/glial markers. A larger controlled study is warranted.

Introduction: The Parsortix® PC1 system, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cleared for use in metastatic breast cancer (MBC) patients, is an epitope-independent microfluidic device for the capture and harvest of circulating tumor cells from whole blood based on cell size and deformability. This report details the analytical characterization of linearity, detection limit, precision, and reproducibility for this device. Methods: System performance was determined using K2-EDTA blood samples collected from self-declared healthy female volunteers (HVs) and MBC patients spiked with prelabeled cultured breast cancer cell lines (SKBR3, MCF7, or Hs578T). Samples were processed on Parsortix® PC1 systems and captured cells were harvested and enumerated. Results: The system captured and harvested live SKBR3, MCF7, and Hs578T cells and fixed SKBR3 cells linearly between 2 and ~100 cells, with average harvest rates of 69%, 73%, 79%, and 90%, respectively. To harvest ≥1 cell ≥95% of the time, the system required 3, 5 or 4 live SKBR3, MCF7 or Hs578T cells, respectively. Average harvest rates from precision studies using 5, 10, and ~50 live cells spiked into blood for each cell line ranged from 63.5% to 76.2%, with repeatability and reproducibility percent coefficient of variation (%CV) estimates ranging from 12.3% to 32.4% and 13.3% to 34.1%, respectively. Average harvest rates using ~20 fixed SKBR3 cells spiked into HV and MBC patient blood samples were 75.0% ± 16.1% (%CV = 22.3%) and 68.4% ± 14.3% (%CV = 21.1%), respectively. Conclusions: These evaluations demonstrate the Parsortix® PC1 system linearly and reproducibly harvests tumor cells from blood over a range of 1 to ~100 cells.

BACKGROUND: Trauma-induced coagulopathy (TIC) is a complex multifaceted process which contributes to higher mortality rates in severely injured trauma patients. Thromboelastography (TEG) is effective in detecting TIC which assists in instituting goal-directed therapy as part of damage control resuscitation. METHODS: This retrospective study included all adult patients over a 36-month period with penetrating abdominal trauma who required a laparotomy, blood products and admission for critical care. Analysis included demographics, admission data, 24-hour interventions, TEG parameters and 30-day outcomes. RESULTS: Eighty-four patients with a median age of 28 years were included. The majority (93%; 78/84) suffered from a gunshot injury, with 75% (63/84) receiving a damage control laparotomy. Forty-eight patients (57%) had a TEG. Injury severity score and total fluid and blood product administered in the first 24 hours were all significantly higher in patients who had a TEG (p < 0.05). TEG profiles were: 42% (20/48) normal, 42% (20/48) hypocoagulable, 12% (6/48) hypercoagulable and 4% (2/48) mixed parameters. Fibrinolysis profiles were: 48% (23/48) normal, 44% (21/48) fibrinolysis shutdown and 8% (4/48) hyperfibrinolysis. Mortality rate was 5% (4/84) at 24 hours and 26% (22/84) at 30 days, with no difference between the two groups. High-grade complication rates, days on a ventilator and intensive care unit length of stay were all significantly higher in patients who did not have a TEG. CONCLUSION: TIC is common in severely injured penetrating trauma patients. The usage of a thromboelastogram did not impact on 24-hour or 30-day mortality but did result in a decreased intensive care stay and a decreased high-grade complication rate.

Short gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) are associated with binary neutron star mergers, which are multimessenger astronomical events that have been observed both in gravitational waves and in the multiband electromagnetic spectrum1. Depending on the masses of the stars in the binary and on details of their largely unknown equation of state, a dynamically evolving and short-lived neutron star may be formed after the merger, existing for approximately 10-300 ms before collapsing to a black hole2,3. Numerical relativity simulations across different groups consistently show broad power spectral features in the 1-5-kHz range in the post-merger gravitational-wave signal4-14, which is inaccessible by current gravitational-wave detectors but could be seen by future third-generation ground-based detectors in the next decade15-17. This implies the possibility of quasiperiodic modulation of the emitted gamma rays in a subset of events in which a neutron star is formed shortly before the final collapse to a black hole18-21. Here we present two such signals identified in the short bursts GRB 910711 and GRB 931101B from archival Burst and Transient Source Experiment (BATSE) data, which are compatible with the predictions from numerical relativity.

AIMS: Childhood adversities (CAs) predict heightened risks of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and major depressive episode (MDE) among people exposed to adult traumatic events. Identifying which CAs put individuals at greatest risk for these adverse posttraumatic neuropsychiatric sequelae (APNS) is important for targeting prevention interventions. METHODS: Data came from n = 999 patients ages 18-75 presenting to 29 U.S. emergency departments after a motor vehicle collision (MVC) and followed for 3 months, the amount of time traditionally used to define chronic PTSD, in the Advancing Understanding of Recovery After Trauma (AURORA) study. Six CA types were self-reported at baseline: physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, physical neglect, emotional neglect and bullying. Both dichotomous measures of ever experiencing each CA type and numeric measures of exposure frequency were included in the analysis. Risk ratios (RRs) of these CA measures as well as complex interactions among these measures were examined as predictors of APNS 3 months post-MVC. APNS was defined as meeting self-reported criteria for either PTSD based on the PTSD Checklist for DSM-5 and/or MDE based on the PROMIS Depression Short-Form 8b. We controlled for pre-MVC lifetime histories of PTSD and MDE. We also examined mediating effects through peritraumatic symptoms assessed in the emergency department and PTSD and MDE assessed in 2-week and 8-week follow-up surveys. Analyses were carried out with robust Poisson regression models. RESULTS: Most participants (90.9%) reported at least rarely having experienced some CA. Ever experiencing each CA other than emotional neglect was univariably associated with 3-month APNS (RRs = 1.31-1.60). Each CA frequency was also univariably associated with 3-month APNS (RRs = 1.65-2.45). In multivariable models, joint associations of CAs with 3-month APNS were additive, with frequency of emotional abuse (RR = 2.03; 95% CI = 1.43-2.87) and bullying (RR = 1.44; 95% CI = 0.99-2.10) being the strongest predictors. Control variable analyses found that these associations were largely explained by pre-MVC histories of PTSD and MDE. CONCLUSIONS: Although individuals who experience frequent emotional abuse and bullying in childhood have a heightened risk of experiencing APNS after an adult MVC, these associations are largely mediated by prior histories of PTSD and MDE.

BACKGROUND: Racial and ethnic groups in the USA differ in the prevalence of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Recent research however has not observed consistent racial/ethnic differences in posttraumatic stress in the early aftermath of trauma, suggesting that such differences in chronic PTSD rates may be related to differences in recovery over time. METHODS: As part of the multisite, longitudinal AURORA study, we investigated racial/ethnic differences in PTSD and related outcomes within 3 months after trauma. Participants (n = 930) were recruited from emergency departments across the USA and provided periodic (2 weeks, 8 weeks, and 3 months after trauma) self-report assessments of PTSD, depression, dissociation, anxiety, and resilience. Linear models were completed to investigate racial/ethnic differences in posttraumatic dysfunction with subsequent follow-up models assessing potential effects of prior life stressors. RESULTS: Racial/ethnic groups did not differ in symptoms over time; however, Black participants showed reduced posttraumatic depression and anxiety symptoms overall compared to Hispanic participants and White participants. Racial/ethnic differences were not attenuated after accounting for differences in sociodemographic factors. However, racial/ethnic differences in depression and anxiety were no longer significant after accounting for greater prior trauma exposure and childhood emotional abuse in White participants. CONCLUSIONS: The present findings suggest prior differences in previous trauma exposure partially mediate the observed racial/ethnic differences in posttraumatic depression and anxiety symptoms following a recent trauma. Our findings further demonstrate that racial/ethnic groups show similar rates of symptom recovery over time. Future work utilizing longer time-scale data is needed to elucidate potential racial/ethnic differences in long-term symptom trajectories.

Body mass index (BMI) screenings are conducted as part of Head Start's (HS) health and nutrition assessments. Weight status classifications, which rely on the accuracy of the BMI measurements, are communicated to caregivers to engage them in health behavior change. Limited qualitative research has been conducted on the procedures for BMI measurement and reporting in HS programs. Interviews (n=28) were conducted with HS health/nutrition managers in Ohio and North Carolina to understand the processes used to conduct BMI screenings and disseminate reports and identify related needs. Themes included Personnel, Equipment, and Training for BMI Measurements; Classifying and Communicating BMI and Referrals; Professional Development Opportunities; and Resource, Training/Policy Needs to Support BMI Practices. Programs need additional resources to implement BMI measurement training and improve data accuracy and entry. Clarification of the referral/follow-up process and training around communicating with caregivers is also needed to better support families in implementing behavior change.

Generative text-to-image models (as exemplified by DALL-E, MidJourney, and Stable Diffusion) have recently made enormous technological leaps, demonstrating impressive results in many graphical domains-from logo design to digital painting to photographic composition. However, the quality of these results has led to existential crises in some fields of art, leading to questions about the role of human agency in the production of meaning in a graphical context. Such issues are central to visualization, and while these generative models have yet to be widely applied in visualization, it seems only a matter of time until their integration is manifest. Seeking to circumvent similar ponderous dilemmas, we attempt to understand the roles that generative models might play across visualization. We do so by constructing a framework that characterizes what these technologies offer at various stages of the visualization workflow, augmented and analyzed through semi-structured interviews with 21 experts from related domains. Through this work, we map the space of opportunities and risks that might arise in this intersection, identifying doomsday prophecies and delicious low-hanging fruits that are ripe for research.

BACKGROUND: To support the early identification of childhood obesity, Head Start (HS) implemented a body mass index screening program. This program provides opportunities for HS to communicate with families about children's weight status. Limited research is available describing the methods used to communicate this information. OBJECTIVE: Explore common experiences of HS health/nutrition managers (HNM) when communicating information to families about children's weight status. STUDY DESIGN, SETTINGS, AND PARTICIPANTS: Twenty-eight in-depth telephone interviews with HNM across North Carolina (n = 15) and Ohio (n = 13). STUDY DESIGN/ANALYSIS: Phenomenology guided the study design and analysis. The themes focused on HNM's lived experiences with their body mass index screening program. Interviews were recorded and transcribed verbatim. RESULTS: Four emergent themes identified: (1) strategies for communicating weight status to families; (2) family response to communication strategies; (3) educational, staff support, and counseling opportunities for families; and (4) challenges engaging families in childhood obesity prevention efforts. CONCLUSIONS AND IMPLICATIONS: Head Start programs acknowledged the importance of communicating children's weight status; however, there are inconsistencies in methods used and information communicated across programs. Head Start programs have community partners who support obesity prevention efforts; however, these partnerships may be underused. More research is needed to explore effective and sensitive communication methods for HS families regarding children's weight status.

The unstructured multiple-attempt (MA) item response data in virtual learning environments (VLEs) are often from student-selected assessment data sets, which include missing data, single-attempt responses, multiple-attempt responses, and unknown growth ability across attempts, leading to a complex and complicated scenario for using this kind of data set as a whole in the practice of educational measurement. It is critical that methods be available for measuring ability from VLE data to improve VLE systems, monitor student progress in instructional settings, and conduct educational research. The purpose of this study is to explore the ability recovery of the multidimensional sequential 2-PL IRT model in unstructured MA data from VLEs. We conduct a simulation study to evaluate the effects of the magnitude of ability growth and the proportion of students who make two attempts, as well as the moderated effects of sample size, test length, and missingness, on the bias and root mean square error of ability estimates. Results show that the model poses promise for evaluating ability in unstructured VLE data, but that some data conditions can result in biased ability estimates.

BACKGROUND: CA125 is the gold standard serum biomarker for monitoring patients with epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC). Human epididymal protein 4 (HE4) is a novel serum biomarker for EOC patients. OBJECTIVE: The objective of this trial was to examine the utility of measuring serum HE4 levels for monitoring EOC patients and to compare HE4 performance parameters to serum CA125. METHODS: A retrospective trial using residual longitudinal serum samples drawn during treatment and monitoring from EOC patients. Serum CA125 and HE4 levels were analyzed at each time point, and a velocity of change was calculated and correlated with clinical status. The null hypothesis was that HE4 is inferior to CA125, and this was tested using concordance and two-sided Fisher's exact testing. McNemar's test was used to assess the overall agreement of the two assays with the clinical status. RESULTS: A total of 129 patients with 272 separate clinical periods and 1739 events (serum samples) were evaluated. Using a 25% change in serum biomarker levels to indicate change in disease status, the accuracy and NPV determined for HE4 versus CA125 were 81.8% versus 82.6% (p = 0.846) and 87.4% versus 89.7% (p = 0.082), respectively. Concordance comparison of HE4 accuracy / CA125 accuracy was 0.990, indicating HE4 was not inferior to CA125 (McNemar's test p-value = 0.522). Performing a velocity of change analysis, the accuracy and NPV determined for HE4 versus CA125 were 78.3% versus 78.6% (p = 0.995) and 74.9% versus 76.3% (p = 0.815), respectively. Concordance comparison of HE4 velocity accuracy / CA125 velocity accuracy was 0.996, again indicating HE4 was not inferior to CA125 (McNemar's test p-value = 0.884). The combination of HE4 and CA125 velocity changes showed a similar accuracy of 81.3% (p = 0.797 compared to HE4 and CA125 alone) and NPV of 81.1% (p≥0.172 compared to HE4 and CA125 alone), and an increased sensitivity of 70.5% (p≤0.070 compared to HE4 and CA125 alone). CONCLUSION: HE4 is equivalent to CA125 for monitoring of EOC patients. The combination of CA125 and HE4 velocities is superior to either marker alone.

OBJECTIVES: To describe beverage behaviors among preschooler-parent dyads and explore correlates with preschooler's beverage behaviors. METHODS: This exploratory, cross-sectional study includes a convenience sample of 202 parents of preschoolers surveyed from four Head Start programs in Virginia and Ohio. Measurements included parent-child beverage behaviors, parent beverage perceptions, parent beverage rules, home beverage availability, and demographics. Analyses included descriptive statistics, correlations, Kruskal-Wallis test, and Quade's non-parametric ANCOVA tests. RESULTS: Mean sugar-sweetened beverage (SSB; i.e., regular soda, sweetened fruit drinks, sports/energy drinks, and coffee/tea with sugar) intake was 1.3 (SD = 1.4) and 2.3 (SD = 2.0) times/day for preschoolers and parents, respectively. When considering all sugary drink sources [i.e., summing SSB with flavored milk and 100% fruit juice (FJ)], the mean frequency increased to 3.2 (SD = 2.1) and 3.6 (SD = 2.4) times/day, respectively, for preschoolers and parents. A significant positive correlation was observed between preschooler-parent dyads for SSB (r = 0.406, p < 0.001) and for all sugary drinks (r = 0.572, p < 0.001). Parents who were younger, single, less educated, and with lower income had preschoolers with significantly higher SSB and all sugary drink intake (all p < 0.05). Significant correlates with preschoolers' beverage behaviors also included parent perceived behavioral control (SSB: p = 0.003, 100% FJ: p = 0.008, water: p < 0.0001), parenting practices (SSB: p = 0.022), and home availability (SSB: p = 0.011, 100% FJ: p < 0.001, water: p < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: This study highlights excessive SSB and all sugary drink consumption among Head Start preschooler-parent dyads. Also, intervention targets to improve preschooler's beverage behaviors are identified, including efforts to improve parent's beverage behaviors, perceived behavioral control, parenting practices, and the home environment.

BACKGROUND: Psoriasis is a chronic immune-mediated inflammatory skin disease that often leads to a diminished quality of life. Goals of treating patients with psoriasis have shifted with more focus on achieving near or complete clearance of the skin. Guselkumab, a fully human monoclonal antibody targeting interleukin-23, is effective in treating moderate-to-severe psoriasis. OBJECTIVE: To describe the baseline characteristics of patients with moderate-to-severe psoriasis achieving super-response (Psoriasis Area and Severity Index [PASI] 100 response at Weeks 20 and 28) after commencing guselkumab treatment. METHODS: Pooled data from VOYAGE 1 and VOYAGE 2 studies identified super-response; baseline demographic, disease and pharmacokinetic characteristics were compared with non-super-response. A stepwise logistic regression analysis identified which factors were potentially predictive of super-response status, with significance level of 0.1. RESULTS: A subset of patients randomized to guselkumab comprised this post hoc analysis (n = 664); 271 patients achieved super-response vs. 393 with non-super-response. Patient age at study entry and baseline body weight (≤90 kg vs. >90 kg), PASI, and Investigator's Global Assessment (IGA) score were significant predictors of super-response status, with odds ratios (95% confidence intervals) of 0.98 (0.967-0.993; P = 0.003), 1.42 (1.026-1.977; P = 0.034), 0.97 (0.955-0.993; P = 0.007) and 0.66 (0.433-0.997; P = 0.048), respectively. More patients with super-response achieved an early response: Week 2 PASI 75 (5.5% vs. 1.8%) and Week 8 PASI 100 (22.5% vs. 3.3%) vs. non-super-response. Median serum guselkumab concentrations through Week 28 were slightly greater in patients with super-response vs. non-super-response. CONCLUSION: Guselkumab was more likely to achieve early clinical responses (complete skin clearance) in younger patients, less obese patients and patients with less severe psoriasis.
