RÉSUMÉ

Background and Aims: The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) on the survival of cirrhotic patients with esophagogastric variceal bleeding (EGVB) treated with transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS). Methods: A total of 293 patients treated with TIPS were included. The receiver operator characteristic curve (ROC) was used to calculate the optimal cut-off values of parameters such as NLR. The Kaplan-Meier curve and Cox proportional risk model were used to evaluate the effects of NLR and other variables on 2-year all-cause mortality. Results: The area under the ROC for NLR was 0.634, with an optimal cutoff value of 4.9. Two-year mortality rates for patients with high (≥4.9) and low (<4.9) NLR were 22.1% and 9.3%, respectively (Log rank test: P = 0.002). After correcting for confounders, multivariate analysis demonstrated that NLR ≥ 4.9 (HR = 2.741, 95% CI 1.467-5.121, P = 0.002), age ≥ 63 (HR = 3.403, 95% CI 1.835-6.310, P < 0.001), and gender (male) (HR = 2.842, 95% CI 1.366-5.912, P = 0.001) were independent risk factors for the mortality outcome. Considering the stratification of early and selective TIPS treatment, high NLR still significantly increased the risk of mortality for patients (Log rank test: P = 0.007, HR = 2.317, 95% CI 1.232-4.356). Conclusion: NLR can help to predict survival in EGVB patients after TIPS, and the type of TIPS should also be considered in practical applications.

RÉSUMÉ

This study aims to explore the mechanism of Dabugan Decoction in the treatment of generalized anxiety disorder(GAD) based on network pharmacology, molecular docking, and animal experiments. Network pharmacology and molecular docking technology were used to obtain the possible targets and related signaling pathways of Dabugan Decoction in the treatment of GAD. The GAD rat model was established, and the corresponding drugs were given by gavage after randomization. After 28 days of continuous intervention, the anxiety state of rats was detected, and the pathological changes of the hippocampus were detected in each group. ELISA and Western blot were used to detect the protein expression levels of related molecules. A total of 65 drug compounds in Dabugan Decoction were obtained, involving 403 targets of action, 7 398 disease targets of GAD, and 279 common targets of "drug-disease". The key nodes in the protein-protein interaction(PPI) network were Akt1, TNF, IL-6, TP53, IL-1ß, etc. Function analysis of Gene Ontology(GO) and enrichment analysis of Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG) showed that the PI3K-Akt signaling pathway was the most important pathway. The results of molecular docking showed that the core components of the drug had good binding activity with the corresponding key targets. Animal experiments showed that Dabugan Decoction could effectively improve the anxiety behavior of rats and increase the open arm end movement distance and total distance of rats in the elevated cross labyrinth, the number and stay time of entering the open box, and the time(%) and the number of entering the center of the open field. At the same time, HE staining and Nicil staining showed that the number of hippocampal nerve cells in rats increased, and they were closely arranged. The damage to the cell body was improved, and there was an increase in Nissl substances in the cells. The expression of TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-1ß in rat hippocampus decreased, and the expression of TP53, p-Akt1, and p-PI3K increased. The mechanism may be related to the activation of the PI3K-Akt signaling pathway and the inhibition of inflammatory response. Dabugan Decoction can play a good therapeutic and regulatory role in GAD, reflecting the overall effect of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) compound and the characteristics of multiple targets and multiple pathways. At the same time, it is preliminarily discussed that the state of GAD may be improved by Dabugan Decoction via-activating PI3K-Akt signaling pathway and inhibiting inflammatory response and anti-apoptosis, thus providing experimental data support for the clinical application of Dabugan Decoction.

RÉSUMÉ

Photoreceptor cells of vertebrates feature ultrastructural membranes interspersed with abundant photosensitive ion pumps to boost signal generation and realize high gain in dim light. In light of this, superstructured optoionic heterojunctions (SSOHs) with cation-selective nanochannels are developed for manipulating photo-driven ion pumping. A template-directed bottom-up strategy is adopted to sequentially assemble graphene oxide (GO) and PEDOT:PSS into heterogeneous membranes with sculptured superstructures, which feature programmable variation in membrane topography and contain a donor-acceptor interface capable of maintaining electron-hole separation upon photoillumination. Such elaborate design endows SSOHs with a much higher magnitude of photo-driven ion flux against a concentration gradient in contrast to conventional optoionic membranes with planar configuration. This can be ascribed to the buildup of an enhanced transmembrane potential owing to the effective separation of photogenerated carriers at the heterojunction interface and the increase of energy input from photoillumination due to a synergistic effect of reflection reduction, broad-angle absorption, and wide-waveband absorption. This work unlocks the significance of membrane topographies in photo-driven transmembrane transportation and proposes such a universal prototype that could be extended to other optoionic membranes to develop high-performance artificial ion pumps for energy conversion and sensing.

RÉSUMÉ

[Purpose] Sandstone reservoirs under the influence of igneous rocks have become some of the most important complex reservoirs. The accurate description of the distribution for this type of reservoir is a major technical problem in hydrocarbon exploration and development. Geological modeling is the fundamental work of reservoir research. However, there is relatively little research on the reservoir modeling of sandstone reservoirs under the influence of igneous rocks. [Method] In this study, taking the Bohai X oilfield as the research object, the distribution characteristics of sandstone reservoirs were characterized, and a quantitative identification method for igneous rocks was established based on seismic, logging, and drilling data. The impact of igneous rocks on sandstone reservoirs was analyzed, and a structural model under a sequence stratigraphic framework was constructed. And then, a three-dimensional geological model of sandstone reservoirs under the influence of igneous rocks was established. [Results] The results show that the physical properties of sandstone reservoirs deteriorate due to the extrusive igneous rocks in the zone with a complex fracture system and the area that volcanic channel developed. After that, referring to the identification and modeling methods of salt domes and using the fine identification and tracking results of volcanic rocks, the volcanic rocks are extracted as attribute bodies, which are finally nested into the geological model. At the same time, according to the influence degree of igneous rocks, a three-dimensional (3D) model was established, which can not only characterize the structure of igneous rocks but also reflect the development of reservoirs. [Conclusions] The research results can better guide the implementation of development wells, avoid reservoir risks, and significantly improve the accuracy of numerical simulation.

RÉSUMÉ

Polyelectrolyte complexes (PECs) have emerged as an attractive category of materials for their water processability and some similarities to natural biopolymers. Herein, we employ the intrinsic hydroplasticity of PEC materials to enable the generation of porous structures with the aid of gas foaming. Such foamable materials are fabricated by simply mixing polycation, polyanion, and a UV-initiated chemical foaming agent in an aqueous solution, followed by molding into thin films. The gas foaming of the PEC films can be achieved upon exposure to UV illumination under water, where the films are plasticized and the gaseous products from the photolysis of foaming agents afford the formation, expanding, and merging of numerous bubbles. The porosity and morphology of the resulting porous films can be customized by tuning film composition, foaming conditions, and especially the degree of plasticizing effect, illustrating the high flexibility of this hydroplastic foaming method. Due to the rapid initiation of gas foaming, the present method enables the formation of porous structures via an instant one-step process, much more efficient than those existing strategies for porous PEC materials. More importantly, such a pore-forming mechanism might be extended to other hydroplastic materials (e.g., biopolymers) and help to yield hydroplasticity-based processing strategies.

RÉSUMÉ

BACKGROUND: The co-occurrence of Anti-phospholipase A2 receptor-associated membranous nephropathy (anti-PLA2R-MN) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection is a rare clinical scenario, presenting significant challenges in terms of management and treatment. CASE SUMMARY: A 32-year-old Chinese male diagnosed with HIV infection presented with a clinical history of proteinuria persisting for over two years. A kidney biopsy demonstrated subepithelial immune complex deposition and a thickened glomerular basement membrane, indicative of stage I-II membranous nephropathy. Immunofluorescence staining revealed granular deposition of PLA2R (3+) along the glomerular capillary loops, corroborated by a strongly positive anti-PLA2R antibody test (1:320). Initial treatment involving losartan potassium, rivaroxaban, tacrolimus, and rituximab was discontinued due to either poor effectiveness or the occurrence of adverse events. Following a regimen of weekly subcutaneous injections of telitacicept (160 mg), a marked decline in the 24 h urine protein was observed within a three-month period, accompanied by a rise in serum albumin level. No significant reductions in peripheral blood CD3+CD4+T and CD3+CD8+T cell counts were detected. The patient's physical and psychological conditions showed significant improvements, with no adverse events reported during the treatment course. CONCLUSION: Telitacicept might offer a potential therapeutic avenue for patients diagnosed with anti-PLA2R-MN concomitant with HIV infection.

RÉSUMÉ

Intravascular ultrasound (IVUS)-guided percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) has been reported to significantly reduce major adverse cardiac events (MACEs) compared with angiography-guided PCI. We aimed to explore whether there were racial differences regarding the beneficial effects of IVUS-guided PCI. Randomized controlled trials for comparison of clinical outcomes between IVUS-guided and angiography-guided PCI were retrieved from PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, and the Cochrane Library from inception to March 15, 2023. The clinical outcomes included MACE, all-cause mortality, myocardial infarction (MI), target vessel revascularization (TVR), target lesion revascularization (TLR), and stent thrombosis (ST). Finally, 18 randomized controlled trials were included in this study (8 in East Asian patients and 10 in Western patients). Results showed that IVUS-guided PCI was associated with a significant reduction of MACE, TVR, TLR, and ST, but not all-cause mortality and MI in both East Asian and Western patients. The reduction of MACE was more significant in East Asian patients (odds ratio [OR] 0.57, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.46 to 0.70) than that in Western patients (OR 0.83, 95% CI 0.67 to 1.02). Meta-regression analysis revealed that the country the study was performed in (East Asian vs Western countries) was associated with significant heterogeneity between groups, suggesting that racial differences existed (p = 0.033). In conclusion, IVUS-guided PCI was associated with a lower risk of MACE, TLR, TVR, and ST, but not all-cause mortality and MI in both East Asians and Westerners. East Asians benefited more than Westerners upon using IVUS-guided PCI in reducing MACE, suggesting that racial differences do exist between different imaging methods. Larger-sample studies are warranted for further clarification of our findings.

RÉSUMÉ

Two-dimensional nanofluidic membranes offer great opportunities for developing efficient and robust devices for ionic/water-nexus energy harvesting. However, low counterion concentration and long pathway through limited ionic flux restrict their output performance. Herein, it is demonstrated that rapid diffusion kinetics can be realized in two-dimensional nanofluidic membranes by introducing in-plane holes across nanosheets, which not only increase counterion concentration but also shorten pathway length through the membranes. Thus, the holey membranes exhibited an enhanced performance relative to the pristine ones in terms of osmotic energy conversion. In particular, a biomimetic multilayered membrane sequentially assembled from pristine and holey sections offers an optimized combination of selectivity and permeability, therefore generating a power density up to 6.78 W m-2 by mixing seawater and river water, superior to the majority of the state-of-the-art lamellar nanofluidic membranes. This work highlights the importance of channel morphologies and presents a general strategy for effectively improving ion transport through lamellar membranes for high-performance nanofluidic devices.

RÉSUMÉ

Objective:To study the role of miRNA-15b and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in the pathogenesis of novel bronchopulmonary dysplasia (nBPD) in rats. Methods:A total of 100 newborn SD rats were randomly assigned into BPD group and control group with 50 rats in each group. The BPD group was placed in oxygen chamber with 60% oxygen concentration and the control group received atmospheric air. The morphological changes of lung tissues were observed on 1 d, 7 d, 14 d and 21 d and the radial alveolar counts (RAC) and alveolar septal thickness (AST) were measured. The expression of miR-15b was measured using real-time quantitative PCR and the expression of VEGF in lung tissue was examined using ELISA method. Results:With prolonged oxygen exposure, the lung tissue of the BPD group showed a decrease in the number of alveoli, a gradual loss of the normal structure of alveoli and a significant widening of the alveolar septum. On 7 d, 14 d and 21 d, RAC values [(6.19±0.29) vs. (6.86±0.92), (5.35±0.67) vs.(9.75±0.34), (3.96±0.45) vs. (10.04±0.52)] were significantly lower in the BPD group than the control group ( P<0.05). On 7 d, 14 d and 21 d,the levels of AST in BPD group were significantly higher than the control group [(6.87±0.41) μm vs. (6.43±0.31) μm, (8.94±0.25) μm vs. (5.36±0.26) μm, (9.61±0.30) μm vs. (4.55±0.32) μm] ( P<0.05). On 7 d, 14 d and 21 d,the miR-15b expression in BPD group were significantly higher than the control group [(1.12±0.11) vs. (0.84±0.09), (1.33±0.09) vs. (0.73±0.07), (1.66±0.15) vs. (0.45±0.10)] ( P<0.05).On 7 d, 14 d and 21 d, VEGF in BPD group were significantly lower than the control group [(10.89±1.67) pg/ml vs. (23.86±4.38) pg/ml, (8.75±1.28) pg/ml vs. (53.94±3.49) pg/ml, (4.66±1.12) pg/ml vs. (70.37±3.10) pg/ml] ( P<0.05). RÉSUMÉ

Background: Glucose fluctuations may be associated with myocardial fibrosis. This study aimed to investigate the underlying mechanisms of glucose fluctuation-related myocardial fibrosis. Methods: Streptozotocin (STZ)-injected type 1 diabetic rats were randomized to five groups: the controlled blood glucose (CBG) group, uncontrolled blood glucose (UBG) group, fluctuated blood glucose (FBG) group, FBG rats injected with 0.9% sodium chloride (NaCl) (FBG + NaCl) group, and FBG rats injected with MCC950 (FBG + MCC950) group. Eight weeks later, left ventricular function was evaluated by echocardiography and myocardial fibrosis was observed by Masson trichrome staining. The primary neonatal rat cardiac fibroblasts were cultured with different concentrations of glucose in vitro. Results: The left ventricular function was impaired and myocardial fibrosis was aggravated most significantly in the FBG group compared with the CBG and UBG groups. The levels of interleukin (IL)-1ß, IL-18, transforming growth factor-ß1 (TGF-ß1), collagen type 1 (collagen I), nuclear factor (NF)-κB, and nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-like receptor protein 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome were significantly increased in the FBG group. In vitro, the inhibition of NF-κB and inflammasome reversed these effects. In vivo, NLRP3 inhibition with MCC950 reversed left ventricular systolic dysfunction and myocardial fibrosis induced by glucose fluctuations. Conclusion: Glucose fluctuations promote diabetic myocardial fibrosis by the NF-κB-mediated inflammasome activation.

RÉSUMÉ

In this research, five sizes (100 × 100, 75 × 75, 50 × 50, 25 × 25, 10 × 10 µm2) of InGaN red micro-light emitting diode (LED) dies are produced using laser-based direct writing and maskless technology. It is observed that with increasing injection current, the smaller the size of the micro-LED, the more obvious the blue shift of the emission wavelength. When the injection current is increased from 0.1 to 1 mA, the emission wavelength of the 10 × 10 µm2 micro-LED is shifted from 617.15 to 576.87 nm. The obvious blue shift is attributed to the stress release and high current density injection. Moreover, the output power density is very similar for smaller chip micro-LEDs at the same injection current density. This behavior is different from AlGaInP micro-LEDs. The sidewall defect is more easily repaired by passivation, which is similar to the behavior of blue micro-LEDs. The results indicate that the red InGaN epilayer structure provides an opportunity to realize the full color LEDs fabricated by GaN-based LEDs.

RÉSUMÉ

Objective:To study the expression of micro RNA-155(miR-155) and IFN-γ in lung tissue in a neonatal rat model of acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS)lung injury by intraperitoneal injection of lipopolysaccharide(LPS).Methods:Eighty neonatal SD rats on the 7th day after birth were assigned to the experimental group(LPS group)and control group(isotonic NaCl group), with 40 rats in each group.LPS solution(4 mg/kg)was injected into the abdominal cavity of neonatal SD rats in the experimental group to establish an animal model of neonatal acute respiratory distress syndrome(NARDS). The control group was established by isotonic NaCl solution(4 ml/kg)in the same way.The lung tissue samples were taken at 3 h, 6 h, 12 h and 24 h after drug administration to observe the surface changes. Then the lung sections were stained with HE to observe the pathological changes and score the lung tissue injury. Finally, the expression levels of miR-155 and IFN-γ in the lung tissue were tested by RT-PCR and ELISA techniques, respectively.Results:(1)At the beginning of the experiment, the neonatal rats in the experimental group gradually showed the clinical manifestations of ARDS, and the macroscopic observation, pathological changes and lung tissue injury scores of the lung tissues suggested the appearance of NARDS lung injury, indicating that the model was successful.(2)The expression levels of miR-155(1.33±0.12 vs 0.95±0.02、1.77±0.17 vs 0.96±0.01、2.18±0.09 vs 0.96±0.02 and 2.43±0.06 vs 0.96±0.02)and IFN-γ(370.79±13.89 vs 273.03±11.44、424.24±10.11vs270.70±13.05、466.63±6.57 vs 268.11±7.88 and 519.13±7.09 vs 272.97±12.54)ng/L in the lung tissue of rats between the experimental group and the control group were significantly different( P<0.01), and the difference was statistically significant among the groups in the experimental group( F values were 165.983 and 408.574, P<0.01). The expression levels of miR-155 and IFN-γ in the lung tissue of the experimental group increased gradually over time and showed an increasing trend. Conclusion:After the successful establishment of NARDS animal model, the expression levels of miR-155 and IFN-γ in the lung tissue of NARDS rats have significantly increased and showed a sequential pattern.MiR-155 is expected to become an early biomarker for the diagnosis of NARDS.

RÉSUMÉ

ObjectiveTo explore whether Hei Xiaoyaosan can inhibit the inflammatory response in the hippocampi of Alzheimer's disease (AD) rats by regulating and activating the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway to improve the cognitive and memory dysfunction. MethodAmong the 90 male Wistar rats, 12 were randomly selected as the blank group (normal saline) and 12 as the sham operation group (normal saline). For the remainder, amyloid β-protein42 (Aβ42) was injected in the left and right hippocampus to induce AD, and then the AD rats were randomized into model group, low-, medium-, and high-dose Hei Xiaoyaosan groups (corresponding doses of Hei Xiaoyaosan, ig), and donepezil group (donepezil hydrochloride,ig), with 12 in each group. The administration lasted 42 days. The pathological changes of hippocampal CA1 region was observed based on Nissl staining. The escape latency on the 1st to 5th day in Morris water maze was recorded and the spatial memory on the 6th day was tested. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was employed to detect the expression of interleukin (IL)-6, IL-10, and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) in rat hippocampus and serum, Western blotting to examine the protein expression of glycogen synthase kinase-3β (GSK-3β), β-catenin, and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ), and real-time polymerase chain reaction (Real-time PCR) to determine the mRNA expression of rat GSK-3β, β-catenin, and PPARγ. ResultCompared with the blank group, the number of neurons in the hippocampal CA1 area of model group was significantly reduced, the arrangement was uneven, the cell body was damaged more obviously, and the Neisser body was unclear. The treatment group was significantly prolonged (P<0.01), and the number of crossing stations was significantly reduced (P<0.01), the levels of IL-10 in serum and hippocampus of rats in the model group were significantly decreased, while the levels of IL-6 and TNF-α were significantly increased (P<0.01), the GSK-3β protein and mRNA in the model group were significantly increased, and the protein expressions of β-catenin and PPARγ were significantly decreased (P<0.01), and the difference was more obvious. The number of neurons in the donepezil group was more distributed, neatly arranged, the structure was intact, and the Nissl bodies were clear and definite, the escape latency on the 3rd to 5th days in middle and high dose groups of Hei Xiaoyaosan and the donepezil group was significantly shortened (P<0.01), the number of crossing platforms increased significantly (P<0.01), the expression levels of IL-10 in the rat hippocampus and serum were significantly increased, while IL-6 and TNF-α were significantly decreased (P<0.01), GSK-3β in the rat hippocampus was significantly increased. The expressions of GSK-3β protein and mRNA were significantly decreased, while the expression levels of β-catenin and PPARγ protein and mRNA were significantly increased (P<0.01). There was no significant difference in each index between the donepezil hydrochloride group and the high-dose Hei Xiaoyaosan group. ConclusionHei Xiaoyaosan can inhibit the inflammatory response in the hippocampus of AD rats by regulating the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, thereby alleviating the cognitive and memory impairment of AD rats.

RÉSUMÉ

Many local sheep breeds in China have poor meat quality. Increasing intramuscular fat (IMF) content can significantly improve the quality of mutton. However, the molecular mechanisms of intramuscular adipocyte formation and differentiation remain unclear. This study compared differences between preadipocytes and mature adipocytes by whole-transcriptome sequencing and constructed systematically regulatory networks according to the relationship predicted among the differentially expressed RNAs (DERs). Sequencing results showed that in this process, there were 1,196, 754, 100, and 17 differentially expressed messenger RNAs (mRNAs), long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), microRNAs (miRNAs), and circular RNAs (circRNAs), respectively. Gene Ontology analysis showed that most DERs enriched in Cell Part, Cellular Process, Biological Regulation, and Binding terms. Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analysis found that the DERs primarily focused on Focal adhesion, phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K)-Akt, mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK), peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) signaling pathways. Forty (40) DERs were randomly selected from the core regulatory network to verify the accuracy of the sequence data. The results of qPCR showed that the DER expression trend was consistent with sequence data. Four novel promising candidate miRNAs (miR-336, miR-422, miR-578, and miR-722) played crucial roles in adipocyte differentiation, and they also participated in multiple and important regulatory networks. We verified the expression pattern of the miRNAs and related pathways' members at five time points in the adipocyte differentiation process (0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 days) by qPCR, including miR-336/ACSL4/LncRNA-MSTRG71379/circRNA0002331, miR-422/FOXO4/LncRNA-MSTRG54995/circRNA0000520, miR-578/IGF1/LncRNA-MSTRG102235/circRNA0002971, and miR-722/PDK4/LncRNA-MSTRG107440/circ RNA0002909. In this study, our data provided plenty of valuable candidate DERs and regulatory networks for researching the molecular mechanisms of sheep adipocyte differentiation and will assist studies in improving the IMF.

RÉSUMÉ

ABSTRACT: The incidence of granulomatous mastitis (GLM) in multiparae as seriously affected the quality of life and breastfeeding of pregnant women after delivery, but the treatment is rarely reported. In this article, the development, healing, and lactation of 13 cases were reported and a retrospective analysis was performed. 10 cases of GLM were treated at the Breast Disease Prevention and Treatment Center of Haidian Maternal & Child Health Hospital of Beijing and 3 cases of GLM were treated in the Breast Department of Weihai Municipal Hospital of Shandong province from February 2017 to May 2019.Among the 13 patients, conservative symptomatic treatment was adopted during pregnancy and lactation: anti-infective therapy consisting of oral cephalosporin antibiotic for patients; ultrasound-guided puncture and drainage of pus or incision and drainage after abscess formation. Observation continued during the sinus tract phase. Postpartum breastfeeding was encouraged, especially on the affected side. In this study, the median healing time was 20 months and the average healing time was 30.4 months in 5 healthy breast lactation cases. In 8 cases of bilateral breast lactation, the median healing time was 30 months and the average healing time was 26.5 months. Linear regression test analysis: whether the affected breast was breast-fed after delivery had no effect on the postpartum wound healing time, P = .792. The wounds of 13 patients healed well after lactation, and none of them recurred since the last follow-up visit. There were no adverse events in all infants.Conservative symptomatic treatment for GLM of multiparous women during pregnancy and lactation and encouraging breastfeeding after delivery have no effect on infant health and the recovery time of patients.

RÉSUMÉ

A novel photocatalyzed cross-dehydrogenative coupling reaction of N-Boc-tetrahydroisoquinolines with α,ß-unsaturated ketones has been developed. This research provides an easy access to a variety of C1-substituted tetrahydroisoquinolines, which can be further transformed into benzo[a]-quinolizine-2-ones, the skeletons of natural products with a wide range of biological activities. The load of the photocatalyst is low and the oxidant is inexpensive and less toxic.
