Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (CRP) is used as common health-care food and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), which exerts pharmacological effects, such as anti-cardiovascular, anti-tumor, anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-virus, hepatoprotective, blood pressure-lowering and neuroprotective. In this study, reliable, and sensitive ultra-high performance liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) methods were developed and validated for the determination of eleven active components in rat plasma after oral administration of the CRP extract. The results of this method exhibited that the specificity, linearity (r > 0.999), precision and accuracy (the coefficient of variation (CV) < 11.5 %), recovery (52.9-107.9 %), matrix effects (63.8-107.5 %), and stability (CV < 10.8 %) met all requirements for the quantitation of plasma samples. The pharmacokinetic results showed that the Tmax of flavone glycosides was less than 0.7 h, and that of polymethoxyflavones and volatile components were within 1-7 h. Meanwhile, the area-under-the-curve (AUC) and concentration maximum (Cmax) of hesperidin, nobiletin, tangeretin, and D-limonene were higher than those of the other components, suggesting that the plasma exposure levels of these constituents were higher in CRP. The present research lays a foundation for elucidating the therapeutic material basis and provides a reference for further scientific research and clinical application of CRP.

A 42-days study was conducted to evaluate the effects of different dietary types (corn-or wheat-soybean meal-based diet) and phytase (Phy) or a multi-carbohydrase and phytase complex (MCPC) supplementation on growth performance, digestibility of phosphorus (P), intestinal transporter gene expression, plasma indexes, bone parameters, and fecal microbiota in growing pigs. Seventy-two barrows (average initial body weight of 24.70 ± 0.09 kg) with a 2 × 3 factorial arrangement of treatments and main effects of diet type (corn-or wheat-soybean meal-based-diets) and enzyme supplementation (without, with Phy or with MCPC). Each group was designed with 6 replicate pens. The MCPC increased (p < 0.05) average daily gain (ADG) and final body weight (BW). A significant interaction (p = 0.01) was observed between diet type and enzyme supplementation on apparent total tract digestibility (ATTD) of P. The ATTD of P was higher (p < 0.05) in wheat soybean meal-based diets compared to corn-soybean meal-based diets. Compared with the corn-soybean meal-based diet, the relative expression of SLC34A2 and VDR genes in the ileum and SLC34A3 in jejunum of growing pigs fed the wheat-soybean meal based diet was lower (p < 0.05). The MCPC significantly reduced (p < 0.05) the relative expression of TRPV5 and CALB1 genes in the ileum and increased the expression of CALB1 in the duodenum compared to control diet. The phytase increased (p < 0.05) the relative expression of SLC34A1 gene in the duodenum in comparison to control diet and MCPC-supplemented diet. The Ca and P contents in plasma from pigs fed corn-soybean meal-based diet were higher (p < 0.05) than those from pigs fed wheat-soybean meal-based diet, and the parathyroid hormone (PTH) and calcitonin (CT) concentrations were lower (p < 0.05) than those fed wheat-soybean meal-based diet. The content of Ca and P in the femur and the bone strength of pigs in the corn-soybean meal group were significantly higher (p < 0.05) than those in the wheat-soybean meal groups. The phytase increased (p < 0.05) the Ca and P content and bone strength of the femur. Additionally, diet type and both enzymes significantly improved fecal microbial diversity and composition. Taken together, diet type and exogenous enzymes supplementation could differently influence the growth performance, utilization of phosphorus, intestinal transporter gene expression, bone mineralization and microbial diversity and composition in growing pigs.

This study investigated the etiology, clinical features, and prognosis of patients diagnosed with bilateral sudden sensorineural hearing loss (BSSNHL). The clinical data of 100 patients with bilateral sudden hearing loss as a chief complaint treated at Xiangya Second Hospital of Central South University between January 2010 and August 2022, including clinical characteristics, audiometric data, and prognosis, were retrospectively analyzed. These 100 cases accounted for 8.09% (100/1235) of all patients admitted for sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL) during the same period. Of these, 71 were simultaneous cases and 29 were sequential cases of BSSNHL. Among the 200 ears analyzed in this study, 13, 36, 57, and 94 had mild, moderate, severe, and profound sensorineural hearing loss, respectively. The overall effective rate after comprehensive treatment was 32%, with significant differences in efficacy and prognosis among different degrees of hearing loss (p < 0.05). Comorbidities of hypertension (24 cases), diabetes (14 cases), and coronary heart disease (9 cases) significantly impacted therapeutic efficacy and prognosis in patients with BSSNHL (p < 0.05). Compared to unilateral SSNHL, BSSNHL exhibits distinctive characteristics.

Introduction: Middle ear cholesteatoma is a chronic middle ear disease characterized by severe hearing loss and adjacent bone erosion, resulting in numerous complications. This study sought to identify pathways involved in N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification of circRNA in middle ear cholesteatoma. Methods: A m6A circRNA epitranscriptomic microarray analysis was performed in middle ear cholesteatoma tissues (n = 5) and normal post-auricular skin samples (n = 5). Bioinformatics analyses subsequently explored the biological functions (Gene Ontology, GO) and signaling pathways (Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes, KEGG) underlying middle ear cholesteatoma pathogenesis. Methylated RNA immunoprecipitation qPCR (MeRIP-qPCR) was performed to verify the presence of circRNAs with m6A modifications in middle ear cholesteatoma and normal skin samples. Results: Microarray analysis identified 3,755 circRNAs as significantly differentially modified by m6A methylation in middle ear cholesteatoma compared with the normal post-auricular skin. Among these, 3,742 were hypermethylated (FC ≥ 2, FDR < 0.05) and 13 were hypomethylated (FC ≤ 1/2, FDR < 0.05). GO analysis terms with the highest enrichment score were localization, cytoplasm, and ATP-dependent activity for biological processes, cellular components, and molecular functions respectively. Of the eight hypermethylated circRNA pathways, RNA degradation pathway has the highest enrichment score. Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptor (PPAR) signaling pathway was hypomethylated. To validate the microarray analysis, we conducted MeRIP-qPCR to assess the methylation levels of five specific m6A-modified circRNAs: hsa_circRNA_061554, hsa_circRNA_001454, hsa_circRNA_031526, hsa_circRNA_100833, and hsa_circRNA_022382. The validation was highly consistent with the findings from the microarray analysis. Conclusion: Our study firstly presents m6A modification patterns of circRNAs in middle ear cholesteatoma. This finding suggests a direction for circRNA m6A modification research in the etiology of cholesteatoma and provides potential therapeutic targets for the treatment of middle ear cholesteatoma.

Chemical investigation on the aqueous extract of Dendrobium aphyllum led to the isolation of thirty-one constituents with structures identified by analysis of the extensive spectroscopic data (1D/2D NMR, MS, UV, and ECD), including previously undescribed two bibenzyls, one furfural, and one phenolic acid, namely trigonopol D (1), trigonopol C (2), dendrofunan A (10), and 6-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-3,6-dioxohexyl acetate (30), respectively, as well as twenty-seven known ones. Among them, there were one new natural product (11), seven compounds (6-7, 9, 12, 20, 28, 31) described from the genus Dendrobium for the first time, and fifteen compounds (8, 13-17, 19, 21-27, 29) isolated from D. aphyllum for the first time. Further, the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory potentials of fifteen compounds (4-5, 8, 11-12, 14-19, 22, 24, 26, and 29) with significant scavenging capacities against DPPH and hydroxyl radicals, and virtual docking activities inhibiting COX-2 and 5-LOX, respectively. Our study may draw the attention of medicinal plant taxonomists and supply potential quality markers for discrimination of D. aphyllum from other species in Dendrobium genus.

ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE: The people of the Pan-Himalayan region are among the most isolated and economically disadvantaged populations worldwide. The Sherpa people, located along the China and Nepal border, rely largely on the natural environment to access essential healthcare services. The region's ongoing economic and social developments threaten indigenous medicinal practices and biodiversity. However, there has been limited comprehensive investigation and documentation of traditional medicine and its associated knowledge in this region. AIM OF THE STUDY: The aims are to document the traditional medicinal knowledge of the Sherpa community, assess the conservation status of medicinal plants, and explore the historical factors that have influenced their traditional medicine practices. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Semi-structured interviews with 78 Sherpa people were conducted in Chenthang Town, Xizang, China. Use reports (URs) was used to determine the most frequently mentioned medicinal plants or a specific ailment or disease category. The International Classification of Primary Care-2nd edition (ICPC-2) was used to transform the original records into an internationally unified classification. RESULTS: A total of 51 plant species, one fungus (Ophiocordyceps sinensis (Berk.) G.H.Sung, J.M.Sung, Hywel-Jones & Spatafora), two lichens (Flavopunctelia soredica (Nyl.) Hale and Parmotrema cetratum (Ach.) Hale), and four minerals were documented, resulting in 824 URs. Ranunculaceae had the most species (5 spp.). The most commonly used method for preparing medicinal substances was decoction (23 species, 40%). Oral application was the preferred route of administration for 81% (41 medicinal substances). Forty-four ailments across 14 ICPC-2 disease categories were documented. Respiratory (320 URs) and digestive (122 URs) categories are among the most common diseases. The top-five ailments were influenza (18 substances; URs = 227), injury blood/lymph/spleen other (11 substances; URs = 66), cough (10 substances; URs = 62), headache (7 substances; URs = 63), and abdominal pain/cramps general (6 substances; URs =37). The most frequently reported medicinal substances were Panax pseudoginseng Wall. (URs = 128) and Neopicrorhiza scrophulariiflora (Pennell) D. Y. Hong (URs = 79). Two special therapies (hot spring therapy and dietary therapy) were described. In-depth ethnographic information on the livelihood and exchange history of Sherpa people were documented. A total of 25 species were sold, of which four species were listed as VU in the IUCN Red List (2023-1), six species were listed as VU, four species were NT, and one species was EN in the China Biodiversity Red List 2021. CONCLUSION: This study provides the first comprehensive documentation of the 58 traditional medicine substances and two special therapies (hot spring therapy and dietary therapy) used by the Sherpa people in Chenthang. Sherpa's medicinal knowledge has been shaped by historical interactions and contemporary trade practices. To better protect the biocultural diversity of the Himalayan region, priority should be given to the rapid assessment of medicinal plants, knowledge, and use status in this area.

To explore the effects of cordyceps militaris (CM) on growth performance and intestinal epithelium functions, 180 weaned pigs were randomly assigned into 5 treatments with 6 replicate pens per treatment (6 pigs per pen). Pigs were fed with basal diet (control) or basal diet supplemented with 100, 200, 400, and 800 mg/kg CM. The trial lasted for 42 d, and pigs from the control and optimal-dose groups (based on growth performance) were picked for blood and tissue collection (n=6). Results showed that CM elevated the average daily gain (ADG) and decreased the ratio of feed intake to gain (F:G) in the weaned pigs (P < 0.05). CM supplementation at 100 mg/kg improved the digestibilities of dry matter (DM), crude protein (CP), and gross energy (GE) (P < 0.05). CM not only increased the activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione (GSH), and catalase (CAT), but also increased the concentration of interleukin-10 (IL-10) in serum (P < 0.05). The serum concentrations of malondialdehyde (MDA), D-lactate, and diamine oxidase (DAO) were reduced by CM (P < 0.05). Interestingly, CM elevated the villus height and the ratio of villus height to crypt depth in the duodenum and jejunum and increased the activities of duodenal sucrase and maltase (P < 0.05). Moreover, CM elevated the expression levels of tight-junction proteins ZO-1, claudin-1, and occluding, as well as critical functional genes such as the fatty acid transport protein (FATP1), cationic amino acid transporter 1 (CAT1), and NF-E2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) in the duodenum and jejunum (P < 0.05). Importantly, CM increased the concentrations of acetic acid and butyric acid, and elevated the abundances of Bacillus and Lactobacillus in the cecum and colon, respectively (P < 0.05). These results indicated potential benefits of CM in improving the growth of weaned pigs, and such effect may be tightly associated with improvement in antioxidant capacity and intestinal epithelium functions.

INTRODUCTION: While higher socioeconomic factors (SEF) and cognitive performance (CP) have been associated with reduced Alzheimer's disease (AD) risk, recent evidence highlighted that these factors may have opposite effects on family history of AD (FHAD). METHODS: Leveraging data from the UK Biobank (N=448,100) and the All of Us Research Program (N=240,319), we applied generalized linear regression models, polygenic risk scoring (PRS), and one-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) to test the sex-specific SEF and CP associations with AD and FHAD. RESULTS: Observational and genetically informed analyses highlighted that higher SEF and CP were associated with reduced AD and sibling-FHAD, while these factors were associated with increased parent-FHAD. We also observed that population minorities may present different patterns with respect to sibling-FHAD vs. parent-FHAD. Sex differences in FHAD associations were identified in ancestry-specific and SEF PRS and MR results. DISCUSSION: This study contributes to understanding the sex-specific relationships linking SEF and CP to FHAD, highlighting the potential role of reporting, recall, and surviving-related dynamics.

Despite the challenges associated with the synthesis of flexible metal-covalent organic frameworks (MCOFs), these offer the unique advantage of maximizing the atomic utilization efficiency. However, the construction of flexible MCOFs with flexible building units or linkages has rarely been reported. In this study, novel flexible MCOFs are constructed using flexible building blocks and copper clusters with hydrazone linkages. The heterometallic frameworks (Cu, Co) are prepared through the hydrazone linkage coordination method and evaluated as catalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Owing to the spatial separation and functional cooperation of the heterometallic MCOF catalysts, the as-synthesized MCOFs exhibited outstanding catalytic activities with an overpotential of 268.8 mV at 10 mA cm-2 for the OER in 1 M KOH, which is superior to those of the reported covalent organic frameworks (COFs)-based OER catalysts. Theoretical calculations further elucidated the synergistic effect of heterometallic active sites within the linkages and frameworks, contributing to the enhanced OER activity. This study thus introduces a novel approach to the fundamental design of flexible MCOF catalysts for the OER, emphasizing their enhanced atomic utilization efficiency.

An assembly between 1,4-dicarboxylbenzene-2,3-dithiol (H2dcbdt) and different transition metal ions successfully produced 2D metal-organic frameworks (M-dcbdt, M = Ni, Co or Fe) composed of unprecedented butterfly-shaped metal-bis(dithiolene) (MS4) linkers in one-pot fashion. Such strategy provides easier access to the [MS4]-rich network and lowers the prerequisite to explore their applications.

Space targets move in orbit at a very high speed, so in order to obtain high-quality imaging, high-speed motion compensation (HSMC) and translational motion compensation (TMC) are required. HSMC and TMC are usually adjacent, and the residual error of HSMC will reduce the accuracy of TMC. At the same time, under the condition of low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), the accuracy of HSMC and TMC will also decrease, which brings challenges to high-quality ISAR imaging. Therefore, this paper proposes a joint ISAR motion compensation algorithm based on entropy minimization under low-SNR conditions. Firstly, the motion of the space target is analyzed, and the echo signal model is obtained. Then, the motion of the space target is modeled as a high-order polynomial, and a parameterized joint compensation model of high-speed motion and translational motion is established. Finally, taking the image entropy after joint motion compensation as the objective function, the red-tailed hawk-Nelder-Mead (RTH-NM) algorithm is used to estimate the target motion parameters, and the joint compensation is carried out. The experimental results of simulation data and real data verify the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed algorithm.

Toxoplasma gondii is an obligate intracellular parasite of phylum Apicomplexa that poses a huge threat to pregnant hosts, and induces tragic outcomes for pregnant hosts, fetuses and newborns. However, the molecular mechanism underlying the tragic consequences caused by T. gondii remains to be revealed. In the present study, we applied RNA-seq to study the transcriptomic landscape of the whole reproductive organ of pregnant mice post T. gondii infection, aiming to reveal the key altered biological characters of reproductive organs of pregnant mice that could contribute to the tragic outcomes caused by T. gondii infection. The results of the present study showed that the transcriptome of reproductive organs of pregnant mice was significantly altered by T. gondii infection. A total of 2,598 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified, including 1,449 upregulated genes and 1,149 downregulated genes. Enrichment analysis of the DEGs showed that the significantly altered features of reproductive organs of pregnant mice were excessive inflammatory responses, downregulated metabolism processes, and congenital diseases. The chemotaxis of immune cells in the reproductive organs of infected pregnant mice could also be reshaped by 19 differentially expressed chemokines and 6 differentially expressed chemokine receptors that could contribute to the damages of reproductive organ in pregnant mice. Overall, the findings of present study may help to understand the pathogenic mechanism of the acute T. gondii infection in reproductive organs of pregnant mice, and it could also help to improve toxoplasmosis therapeutics for pregnant individuals.

The interaction between light and moiré superlattices presents a platform for exploring unique light-matter phenomena. Tailoring these optical properties holds immense potential for advancing the utilization of moiré superlattices in photonics, optoelectronics, and valleytronics. However, the control of the optical polarization state in moiré superlattices, particularly in the presence of moiré effects, remains elusive. Here, we unveil the emergence of optical anisotropy in moiré superlattices by constructing twisted WSe2/WSe2/SiP heterostructures. We report a linear polarization degree of ∼70% for moiré excitons, attributed to the spatially nonuniform charge distribution, corroborated by first-principles calculations. Furthermore, we demonstrate the modulation of this linear polarization state via the application of a magnetic field, resulting in polarization angle rotation and a magnetic-field-dependent linear polarization degree, influenced by valley coherence and moiré potential effects. Our findings demonstrate an efficient strategy for tuning the optical polarization state of moiré superlattices using heterointerface engineering.

BACKGROUND: Cryptosporidium is a globally distributed zoonotic protozoan parasite in humans and animals. Infection is widespread in dairy cattle, especially in calves, resulting in neonatal enteritis, production losses and high mortality. However, the occurrence of Cryptosporidium spp. in pre- and post-weaned calves in Yunnan Province remains unclear. METHODS: We collected 498 fecal samples from Holstein calves on 10 different farms in four regions of Yunnan Province. Nested PCR and DNA sequencing were used to determine the infection, species and genotypes of Cryptosporidium spp. in these animals. RESULTS: The overall occurrence of Cryptosporidium spp. in Holstein calves was 32.9% (164/498), and the prevalence in pre- and post-weaned calves was 33.5% (106/316) and 31.9% (58/182), respectively. Four Cryptosporidium species were identified in these animals, namely C. bovis (n = 119), C. parvum (n = 23), C. ryanae (n = 20) and C. andersoni (n = 2). Based on sequencing analysis of the 60 kDa glycoprotein gene of C. bovis, C. parvum and C. ryanae, six subtypes of C. bovis (XXVIe, XXVIb, XXVIf, XXVIa XXVIc and XXVId), two subtypes of C. parvum (IIdA19G1 and IIdA18G1) and four subtypes of C. ryanae (XXIf, XXId, XXIe and XXIg) were identified. CONCLUSIONS: These results provide essential information to understand the infection rate, species diversity and genetic structure of Cryptosporidium spp. populations in Holstein pre-weaned and post-weaned calves in Yunnan Province. Further, the presence of IIdA18G1 and IIdA19G1 in C. parvum implies significant animal and public health concerns, which requires greater attention and more preventive measures.

Introduction: The DNA damage repair (DDR) system in human genome is pivotal in maintaining genomic integrity. Pathogenic variation (PV) in DDR genes impairs their function, leading to genome instability and increased susceptibility to diseases, especially cancer. Understanding the evolution origin and arising time of DDR PV is crucial for comprehending disease susceptibility in modern humans. Methods: We used big data approach to identify the PVs in DDR genes in modern humans. We mined multiple genomic databases derived from 251,214 modern humans of African and non-Africans. We compared the DDR PVs between African and non-African. We also mined the DDR PVs in the genomic data derived from 5,031 ancient humans. We used the DDR PVs from ancient humans as the intermediate to further the DDR PVs between African and non-African. Results and discussion: We identified 1,060 single-base DDR PVs across 77 DDR genes in modern humans of African and non-African. Direct comparison of the DDR PVs between African and non-African showed that 82.1% of the non-African PVs were not present in African. We further identified 397 single-base DDR PVs in 56 DDR genes in the 5,031 ancient humans dated between 45,045 and 100 years before present (BP) lived in Eurasian continent therefore the descendants of the latest out-of-Africa human migrants occurred 50,000-60,000 years ago. By referring to the ancient DDR PVs, we observed that 276 of the 397 (70.3%) ancient DDR PVs were exclusive in non-African, 106 (26.7%) were shared between non-African and African, and only 15 (3.8%) were exclusive in African. We further validated the distribution pattern by testing the PVs in BRCA and TP53, two of the important genes in genome stability maintenance, in African, non-African, and Ancient humans. Our study revealed that DDR PVs in modern humans mostly emerged after the latest out-of-Africa migration. The data provides a foundation to understand the evolutionary basis of disease susceptibility, in particular cancer, in modern humans.

Genomic prediction has emerged as a pivotal technology for the genetic evaluation of livestock, crops, and for predicting human disease risks. However, classical genomic prediction methods face challenges in incorporating biological prior information such as the genetic regulation mechanisms of traits. This study introduces a novel approach that integrates mRNA transcript information to predict complex trait phenotypes. To evaluate the accuracy of the new method, we utilized a Drosophila population that is widely employed in quantitative genetics researches globally. Results indicate that integrating mRNA transcript data can significantly enhance the genomic prediction accuracy for certain traits, though it does not improve phenotype prediction accuracy for all traits. Compared with GBLUP, the prediction accuracy for olfactory response to dCarvone in male Drosophila increased from 0.256 to 0.274. Similarly, the accuracy for cafe in male Drosophila rose from 0.355 to 0.401. The prediction accuracy for survival_paraquat in male Drosophila is improved from 0.101 to 0.138. In female Drosophila, the accuracy of olfactory response to 1hexanol increased from 0.147 to 0.210. In conclusion, integrating mRNA transcripts can substantially improve genomic prediction accuracy of certain traits by up to 43%, with range of 7% to 43%. Furthermore, for some traits, considering interaction effects along with mRNA transcript integration can lead to even higher prediction accuracy.

Introduction: Pogostemon cablin (PC) is used in traditional Chinese medicine and food, as it exerts pharmacological effects, such as immune-modulatory, antibacterial, antioxidant, antitumor, and antiviral. Currently, the pharmacokinetics (PK) studies of PC mainly focus on individual components. However, research on these individual components cannot reflect the actual PK characteristics of PC after administration. Therefore, the simultaneous determination of multiple components in rat plasma using UPLC-MS/MS was used for the pharmacokinetic study after oral administration of PC extract in this study, providing reference value for the clinical application of PC. Methods: In the present study, a reliable and sensitive ultra-high performance liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS) method was developed and validated for the simultaneous determination of 15 prototype components (vanillic acid, vitexin, verbascoside, isoacteoside, hyperoside, cosmosiin, apigenin, ß-rhamnocitrin, acacetin, ombuin, pogostone, pachypodol, vicenin-2, retusin, and diosmetin-7-O-ß-D-glucopyranoside) in rat plasma after oral administration of the PC extract. Plasma samples were prepared via protein precipitation using acetonitrile, and icariin was used as the internal standard (IS). Results: The intra-day and inter-day accuracies ranged from -12.0 to 14.3%, and the precision of the analytes was less than 11.3%. The extraction recovery rate of the analytes ranged from 70.6-104.5%, and the matrix effects ranged from 67.4-104.8%. Stability studies proved that the analytes were stable under the tested conditions, with a relative standard deviation lower than 14.1%. Conclusion: The developed method can be applied to evaluate the PK of 15 prototype components in PC extracts of rats after oral administration using UPLC-MS/MS, providing valuable information for the development and clinical safe, effective, and rational use of PC.

The fuel leakage of fuel vehicles will exacerbate the occurrence of distresses on asphalt pavements, including peeling, chipping and potholes, especially under the synergistic effect of traffic load and environment. In this research, Sasobit, which is commonly used as a warm agent in asphalt, is selected as the anti-fuel erosion agent and incorporated into SBS-modified asphalt and its mixtures. Diesel and gasoline are selected as the fuel erosion media. Sasobit/SBS-modified asphalt binder and its mixtures are investigated for fuel erosion. The rheological properties of bitumen and the mechanical properties of asphalt mixtures are assessed. The experimental findings show that the dissolution velocity of SBS-modified asphalt with 3% Sasobit is 0.2%/min for diesel erosion, while it is 1.7%/min for gasoline erosion, lower than the control sample without Sasobit. Meanwhile, the rutting factor of Sasobit/SBS-modified asphalt decreases less than that of the control sample without Sasobit. Furthermore, the mass loss ratio after the Cantabro test of Sasobit/SBS-modified asphalt mixtures is 1.2% for diesel erosion, while it is 6.8% for gasoline erosion, lower than that of the control sample without Sasobit. The results of the mechanical properties for asphalt mixtures demonstrate that Sasobit can enhance the anti-fuel erosion performance. Moreover, the research results of the Sasobit modification mechanism show that Sasobit can form a microcrystalline structure in SBS-modified asphalt, which subsequently improves the anti-fuel of asphalt and its mixtures. This research provides a reference for anti-fuel erosion assessment methods and solutions to improve the anti-fuel erosion of asphalt pavement.
