RÉSUMÉ

Background: Löffler's endocarditis (LE) is a frequently encountered condition in hypereosinophilic syndrome and is associated with a significant morbidity and mortality rate. Case Summary: A 22-year-old man presented with acute dyspnoea, recurring wheezing, and cough, leading to his hospital admission. Multimodal diagnostic imaging revealed a manifestation of eosinophil-mediated cardiac injury in the thrombus formation stage. Moreover, a mural thrombus and thickened endocardium had caused severe obstruction of the right ventricular outflow tract (RVOT) and complete obliteration of the right ventricular apex, resulting in a significant reduction in right ventricular cardiac output. The patient received a diagnosis of LE and was treated with high-dose corticosteroids and anticoagulants. To alleviate the RVOT obstruction, an emergency surgical intervention was conducted through median sternotomy to the removal of the mural thrombus and resection of the thickened endocardium. Subsequently, eosinophil counts normalized within 1 month. Follow-up imaging examination demonstrated the existence of a residual section of thickened endocardium within the right ventricular free wall. Importantly, no mural thrombus was detected with complete relief of the RVOT obstruction. Notably, a transthoracic echocardiography examination at the 3-month postoperative unveiled a significant regression in right ventricular endomyocardial fibrosis. The patient's condition exhibited tangible improvement, with no adverse events observed. Discussion: Multimodal imaging is essential for the early diagnosis and accurate staging of LE. Timely surgical intervention, combined with corticosteroid therapy, is an effective therapeutic approach in selected patients with LE. This approach is crucial to achieve remission of acute phase symptoms and improve prognosis.

RÉSUMÉ

Integrating genomics and histology for cancer prognosis demonstrates promise. Here, we develop a multi-classifier system integrating a lncRNA-based classifier, a deep learning whole-slide-image-based classifier, and a clinicopathological classifier to accurately predict post-surgery localized (stage I-III) papillary renal cell carcinoma (pRCC) recurrence. The multi-classifier system demonstrates significantly higher predictive accuracy for recurrence-free survival (RFS) compared to the three single classifiers alone in the training set and in both validation sets (C-index 0.831-0.858 vs. 0.642-0.777, p < 0.05). The RFS in our multi-classifier-defined high-risk stage I/II and grade 1/2 groups is significantly worse than in the low-risk stage III and grade 3/4 groups (p < 0.05). Our multi-classifier system is a practical and reliable predictor for recurrence of localized pRCC after surgery that can be used with the current staging system to more accurately predict disease course and inform strategies for individualized adjuvant therapy.

RÉSUMÉ

When conducting spine-related diagnosis and surgery, the three-dimensional (3D) upright posture of the spine under natural weight bearing is of significant clinical value for physicians to analyze the force on the spine. However, existing medical imaging technologies cannot meet current requirements of medical service. On the one hand, the mainstream 3D volumetric imaging modalities (e.g. CT and MRI) require patients to lie down during the imaging process. On the other hand, the imaging modalities conducted in an upright posture (e.g. radiograph) can only realize 2D projections, which lose the valid information of spinal anatomy and curvature. Developments of deep learning-based 3D reconstruction methods bring potential to overcome the limitations of the existing medical imaging technologies. To deal with the limitations of current medical imaging technologies as is described above, in this paper, we propose a novel deep learning framework, ReVerteR, which can realize automatic 3D Reconstruction of Vertebrae from orthogonal bi-planar Radiographs. With the utilization of self-attention mechanism and specially designed loss function combining Dice, Hausdorff, Focal, and MSE, ReVerteR can alleviate the sample-imbalance problem during the reconstruction process and realize the fusion of the centroid annotation and the focused vertebra. Furthermore, aiming at automatic and customized 3D spinal reconstruction in real-world scenarios, we extend ReVerteR to a clinical deployment-oriented framework, and develop an interactive interface with all functions in the framework integrated so as to enhance human-computer interaction during clinical decision-making. Extensive experiments and visualization conducted on our constructed datasets based on two benchmark datasets of spinal CT, VerSe 2019 and VerSe 2020, demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed ReVerteR. In this paper, we propose an automatic 3D reconstruction method of vertebrae based on orthogonal bi-planar radiographs. With the 3D upright posture of the spine under natural weight bearing effectively constructed, our proposed method is expected to better support doctors make clinical decision during spine-related diagnosis and surgery.

RÉSUMÉ

Focal adhesion kinase (FAK) is considered as a pivotal intracellular non-receptor tyrosine kinase, and has garnered significant attention as a promising target for anticancer drug development. As of early 2024, a total of 12 drugs targeting FAK have been approved for clinical or preclinical studies worldwide, including three PROTAC degraders. In recent three years (2021-2023), significant progress has been made in designing targeted FAK anticancer agents, including the development of a novel benzenesulfofurazan type NO-releasing FAK inhibitor and the first-in-class dual-target inhibitors simultaneously targeting FAK and HDACs. Given the pivotal role of FAK in the discovery of anticancer drugs, as well as the notable advancements achieved in FAK inhibitors and PROTAC degraders in recent years, this review is underbaked to present a comprehensive overview of the function and structure of FAK. Additionally, the latest findings on the inhibitors and PROTAC degraders of FAK from the past three years, along with their optimization strategies and anticancer activities, were summarized, which might help to provide novel insights for the development of novel targeted FAK agents with promising anticancer potential and favorable pharmacological profiles.

RÉSUMÉ

As a highly conserved signaling network across different species, the Hippo pathway is involved in various biological processes. Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway could lead to a wide range of diseases, particularly cancers. Extensive researches have demonstrated the close association between dysregulated Hippo signaling and tumorigenesis as well as tumor progression. Consequently, targeting the Hippo pathway has emerged as a promising strategy for cancer treatment. In fact, there has been an increasing number of reports on small molecules that target the Hippo pathway, exhibiting therapeutic potential as anticancer agents. Importantly, some of Hippo signaling pathway inhibitors have been approved for the clinical trials. In this work, we try to provide an overview of the core components and signal transduction mechanisms of the Hippo signaling pathway. Furthermore, we also analyze the relationship between Hippo signaling pathway and cancers, as well as summarize the small molecules with proven anti-tumor effects in clinical trials or reported in literatures. Additionally, we discuss the anti-tumor potency and structure-activity relationship of the small molecule compounds, providing a valuable insight for further development of anticancer agents against this pathway.

RÉSUMÉ

Rare earth orthoniobates (RENbO4) are one kind of important functional materials due to its applications in solid-state phosphors, thermal barrier coatings, and microwave dielectric ceramics. The synthesis of rare earth niobates often needs high reaction temperatures (1300 ~ 1700 C) and long processing times (from hours to tens of hours) in solid-state reactions, which can increase the study time of the relationship between structure and properties. In this work, we used ultrafast high-temperature sintering method to synthesize RENbO4 (RE = La, Eu, Gd, Yb, Lu), and found specific structure and properties in these materials obtained with specific synthetic techniques. Based on the electronegativity scale, the charge transfer energy of lanthanide ions in the YNbO4 crystal was calculated. The rapid synthesis of RENbO4 in a vacuum atmosphere generated more oxygen vacancies, and the structures of [REO8] and [NbO6] were distorted. The shortening of the fluorescence lifetime of LaNbO4 and EuNbO4 was related to the formation of self-trapped excitons (STEs) facilitated by lattice distortion. The emission peak of LuNbO4 at about 530 nm is attributed to the oxygen vacancy in the niobate group. The reported synthetic methods can provide a fast materials screening route for high melting point inorganic materials.

RÉSUMÉ

BACKGROUND: The linkage between psoriasis and hypertension has been established through observational studies. Despite this, a comprehensive assessment of the combined effects of psoriasis and hypertension on all-cause mortality is lacking. The principal aim of the present study is to elucidate the synergistic impact of psoriasis and hypertension on mortality within a representative cohort of adults residing in the United States. METHODS: The analysis was conducted on comprehensive datasets derived from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Study spanning two distinct periods: 2003-2006 and 2009-2014. The determination of psoriasis status relied on self-reported questionnaire data, whereas hypertension was characterized by parameters including systolic blood pressure ≥ 140 mmHg, diastolic blood pressure ≥ 90 mmHg, self-reported physician diagnosis, or the use of antihypertensive medication. The assessment of the interplay between psoriasis and hypertension employed multivariable logistic regression analyses. Continuous monitoring of participants' vital status was conducted until December 31, 2019. A four-level variable amalgamating information on psoriasis and hypertension was established, and the evaluation of survival probability utilized the Kaplan-Meier curve alongside Cox regression analysis. Hazard ratios (HRs) and their associated 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were computed to scrutinize the correlation between psoriasis/hypertension and all-cause mortality. RESULTS: In total, this study included 19,799 participants, among whom 554 had psoriasis and 7,692 had hypertension. The findings from the logistic regression analyses indicated a heightened risk of hypertension among individuals with psoriasis in comparison to those devoid of psoriasis. Throughout a median follow-up spanning 105 months, 1,845 participants experienced all-cause death. In comparison to individuals devoid of both hypertension and psoriasis, those with psoriasis alone exhibited an all-cause mortality HR of 0.73 (95% CI: 0.35-1.53), individuals with hypertension alone showed an HR of 1.78 (95% CI: 1.55-2.04), and those with both psoriasis and hypertension had an HR of 2.33 (95% CI: 1.60-3.40). In the course of a stratified analysis differentiating between the presence and absence of psoriasis, it was noted that hypertension correlated with an elevated risk of all-cause mortality in individuals lacking psoriasis (HR 1.77, 95% CI: 1.54-2.04). Notably, this association was further accentuated among individuals with psoriasis, revealing an increased HR of 3.23 (95% CI: 1.47-7.13). CONCLUSIONS: The outcomes of our investigation demonstrated a noteworthy and positive association between psoriasis, hypertension, and all-cause mortality. These findings indicate that individuals who have both psoriasis and hypertension face an increased likelihood of mortality.

RÉSUMÉ

Molecular materials possessing switchable magneto-optical properties are of great interest due to their potential applications in spintronics and molecular devices. However, switching their photoluminescence (PL) and single-molecule magnet (SMM) behavior via light-induced structural changes still constitutes a formidable challenge. Here, a series of cubane structures were synthesized via self-assembly of 9-anthracene carboxylic acid (HAC) and rare-earth ions. All complexes exhibited obvious photochromic phenomena and complete PL quenching upon Xe lamp irradiation, which were realized via the synergistic effect of photogenerated radicals and [4 + 4] photocycloaddition of the AC components. The quenched PL showed the largest fluorescence intensity change (99.72%) in electron-transfer photochromic materials. A reversible decoloration process was realized via mechanical grinding, which is unexpectedly in the electron-transfer photochromic materials. Importantly, an SMM behavior of the Dy analog was observed after room-temperature irradiation due to the photocycloaddition of AC ligands and the photogenerated stable radicals changed the electrostatic ligand field and magnetic coupling. Moreover, based on the remarkably photochromic and photoluminescent properties of these compounds, 2 demos were applied to support their application in information anti-counterfeiting and inkless printing. This work, for the first time utilizing the simultaneous modulation of photocycloaddition and photogenerated radicals in one system, realizes complete PL quenching and light-induced SMM behavior, providing a dynamical switch for the construction of multifunctional polymorphic materials with optical response and optical storage devices.

RÉSUMÉ

In environmental psychology literature, an individual's perception of the surroundings leads to subsequent behaviors. In this regard, small-scale sport events (SSE) have been used as a marketing tool for tourism development. However, how SSEs are leveraged to improve destination image (DI) for tourists has not been fully understood. Building on Mehrabian-Russell's environmental psychology model, this study examined the relationship between the SSE environmental stimuli and revisit intentions through the sequential mediation of cognitive and affective DI. Data from the 423 respondents were collected from 2023 Wuxi Marathon held in Wuxi, China. Structural equation modeling was employed to analyze the hypothesized framework. The results indicated that the SSE environmental stimuli were positively associated with both cognitive and affective DI, which were positively correlated with revisit intentions. The applicability of the serial mediation of cognitive and affective DI within the relationship was confirmed. This study contributes to the sport and tourism literature by extending the applicability of Mehrabian and Russell's model to SSE settings and identifying the serial mediating effects of cognitive and affective DI.

RÉSUMÉ

The sand fixing shelter forests in the Horqin Sandy Land are a key area in the "3-North" Shelter Forest Program in China, which has a history of over 50 years of artificial afforestation. Populus simonii Carr is one of the most dominant silvicultural species in the region. The aim of this study is to understand the soil characteristics and soil fertility of Populus simonii shelter forests at different growth stages and to establish a scientific basis for soil nutrient regulation and sustainable management of Populus simonii shelter forests at the southern edge of the Horqin Sandy Land. Sample plots were selected for young (≤15 a), middle-aged (16-25 a), near-mature (26-30 a), mature (31-40 a), and over-mature (≥41 a) forests. Each forest studied was in a state of natural restoration with uniform stand conditions and no artificial fertilizer was applied. These sites were selected to study changes in the soil characteristics in soil depths of 0-20, 20-40, and 40-60 cm. In order to avoid the problem of multicollinearity between soil variables and to reduce redundancy, principal component analysis (PCA), Pearson's correlation analysis, and Norm value calculation were used to select the least correlated indicators with the highest factor loadings. This was used to establish the minimum data set. The soil fertility quality of these shelterbelts in different forest ages was quantified using the soil quality index (SQI). In the growth stage from young to nearly mature forests, the soil bulk weight and pH decreased with increasing forest age. Soil capillary porosity, noncapillary porosity, total porosity, water content, field water holding capacity, and organic carbon content increased with increasing forest age and soil nutrient content gradually improved. At the stage of near-mature to over-mature forests, the effect of forest age on soil bulk density was not significant and all other soil characteristics decreased to varying degrees as the forest age increased. The soil also developed from alkaline to neutral. The SQI of the total data set and the SQI of the minimum data set consistently showed that near-mature forests (NMF) > middle-aged forests (MAF) > mature forests (MF) > over-mature forests (OMF) > young forests (YF). The results of the two evaluation systems showed a significant positive correlation (P < 0.05, R 2 = 0.8263) indicating that it is feasible to use the minimum data set to evaluate the soil fertility of shelter forests of different forest ages. The age of the forest has an obvious effect on the soil characteristics and overall soil fertility of shelter forests. The Populus simonii shelter forests on the southern edge of the Horqin Sandy Land have great soil development at the early stage of afforestation and the soil nutrient content gradually increases. The soil fertility reaches a peak when the forest is nearly mature and the soil fertility declines after the age of the forest reaches 30 years.

RÉSUMÉ

This novel report presents the first known case, to our knowledge, of a 16-year-old male patient who experienced intraventricular thrombosis and pulmonary embolism after a Nuss procedure for pectus excavatum, attributed to chronic bar displacement. Two years after the operation, the patient experienced post-exercise cough and hemoptysis, which led to his admission. Imaging revealed pulmonary embolism, thrombosis in the right ventricular outflow tract, and lung infiltrative lesions. We hypothesize that the chronic bar displacement led to its embedment in the right ventricle, resulting in thrombus formation, which subsequently contributed to partial pulmonary embolism. Surgery revealed the bars' intrusion into the right ventricle and lung. This case highlights the risk of severe complications from bar displacement in the Nuss procedure, which necessitates long-term follow-up evaluation, caution against strenuous activities after surgery, and use of thoracoscopic guidance during bar implantation and removal. It underscores the importance of vigilant evaluation for late-stage complications in patients with respiratory distress or thrombosis after a Nuss procedure.

RÉSUMÉ

Our previous study has identified that glutamate in the red nucleus (RN) facilitates the development of neuropathic pain through metabotropic glutamate receptors (mGluR). Here, we further explored the actions and possible molecular mechanisms of red nucleus mGluR Ⅰ (mGluR1 and mGluR5) in the development of neuropathic pain induced by spared nerve injury (SNI). Our data indicated that both mGluR1 and mGluR5 were constitutively expressed in the RN of normal rats. Two weeks after SNI, the expressions of mGluR1 and mGluR5 were significantly boosted in the RN contralateral to the nerve injury. Administration of mGluR1 antagonist LY367385 or mGluR5 antagonist MTEP to the RN contralateral to the nerve injury at 2 weeks post-SNI significantly ameliorated SNI-induced neuropathic pain. However, unilateral administration of mGluRⅠ agonist DHPG to the RN of normal rats provoked a significant mechanical allodynia, this effect could be blocked by LY367385 or MTEP. Further studies indicated that the expressions of TNF-α and IL-1ß in the RN were also elevated at 2 weeks post-SNI. Administration of mGluR1 antagonist LY367385 or mGluR5 antagonist MTEP to the RN at 2 weeks post-SNI significantly inhibited the elevations of TNF-α and IL-1ß. However, administration of mGluR Ⅰ agonist DHPG to the RN of normal rats significantly enhanced the expressions of TNF-α and IL-1ß, these effects were blocked by LY367385 or MTEP. These results suggest that activation of red nucleus mGluR1 and mGluR5 facilitate the development of neuropathic pain by stimulating the expressions of TNF-α and IL-1ß. mGluR Ⅰ maybe potential targets for drug development and clinical treatment of neuropathic pain.

RÉSUMÉ

Recent studies have shifted the spotlight from adult disease to gametogenesis and embryo developmental events, and these are greatly affected by various environmental chemicals, such as drugs, metabolites, pollutants, and others. Growing research has highlighted the critical importance of identifying and understanding the roles of chemicals in reproductive biology. However, the functions and mechanisms of chemicals in reproductive processes remain incomplete. We developed a comprehensive database called the Reproductive Chemical Database (RCDB) ( https://yu.life.sjtu.edu.cn/ChenLab/RCDB ) to facilitate research on chemicals in reproductive biology. This resource is founded on rigorous manual literature extraction and precise protein target prediction methodologies. This database focuses on the delineation of chemicals associated with phenotypes, diseases, or endpoints intricately associated with four important reproductive processes: female and male gamete generation, fertilization, and embryo development in human and mouse. The RCDB encompasses 93 sub-GO processes, and it revealed 1447 intricate chemical-biological process interactions. To date, the RCDB has meticulously cataloged and annotated 830 distinct chemicals, while also predicting 614 target proteins from a selection of 3800 potential candidates. Additionally, the RCDB offers an online predictive tool that empowers researchers to ascertain whether specific chemicals play discernible functional roles in these reproductive processes. The RCDB is an exhaustive, cross-platform, manually curated database, which provides a user-friendly interface to search, browse, and use reproductive processes modulators and their comprehensive related information. The RCDB will help researchers to understand the whole reproductive process and related diseases and it has the potential to promote reproduction research in the pharmacological and pathophysiological areas.

RÉSUMÉ

Purpose: Quantitative computed tomography (CT) analysis is an important method for diagnosis and severity evaluation of lung diseases. However, the association between CT-derived biomarkers and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) exacerbations remains unclear. We aimed to investigate its potential in predicting COPD exacerbations. Methods: Patients with COPD were consecutively enrolled, and their data were analyzed in this retrospective study. Body composition and thoracic abnormalities were analyzed from chest CT scans. Logistic regression analysis was performed to identify independent risk factors of exacerbation. Based on 2-year follow-up data, the deep learning system (DLS) was developed to predict future exacerbations. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was conducted to assess the diagnostic performance. Finally, the survival analysis was performed to further evaluate the potential of the DLS in risk stratification. Results: A total of 1,150 eligible patients were included and followed up for 2 years. Multivariate analysis revealed that CT-derived high affected lung volume/total lung capacity (ALV/TLC) ratio, high visceral adipose tissue area (VAT), and low pectoralis muscle cross-sectional area (CSA) were independent risk factors causing COPD exacerbations. The DLS outperformed exacerbation history and the BMI, airflow obstruction, dyspnea, and exercise capacity (BODE) index, with an area under the ROC (AUC) value of 0.88 (95%CI, 0.82-0.92) in the internal cohort and 0.86 (95%CI, 0.81-0.89) in the external cohort. The DeLong test revealed significance between this system and conventional scores in the test cohorts (p < 0.05). In the survival analysis, patients with higher risk were susceptible to exacerbation events. Conclusion: The DLS could allow accurate prediction of COPD exacerbations. The newly identified CT biomarkers (ALV/TLC ratio, VAT, and pectoralis muscle CSA) could potentially enable investigation into underlying mechanisms responsible for exacerbations.

RÉSUMÉ

Background: Ischemic stroke (IS) is the leading cause of disability and mortality worldwide. Low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels hadno potential risk on ischemic stroke. However, higher LDL-C levels were closely related to IS. Based on two antagonistic viewpoints, a Mendelian randomization (MR) study was designed to evaluate the causal effects of LDL-C levels on IS. Methods: Datasets of LDL-C levels and ischemic stroke were acquired from genome-wide association studies (GWAS). Weighted median method was conducted for main analysis, and MR-Egger and inverse-variance weighted (IVW) methods were performed for auxiliary analyses. Heterogeneity and pleiotropic tests were utilized to confirm the reliability of this study. Results: A total of 359 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were associated with LDL-C levels (P < 5 × 10-8) and 337 SNPs were available in ischemic stroke with eliminating outliers. LDL-C levels were significantly associated with ischemic stroke (OR = 1.104, 95%CI = 1.019 - 1.195, P = 1.52 × 10-2). MR-Egger and IVW showed directionally similar estimates (MR-Egger: OR = 1.120, 95%CI = 1.040 - 1.207, P = 3.12 × 10-3; IVW: OR = 1.120, 95%CI = 1.064 - 1.178, P = 1.17 × 10-5). Conclusion: LDL-C levels had causal effects on IS, providing insights into the design of future interventions to reduce the burden of ischemic stroke.

RÉSUMÉ

OBJECTIVES: To establish a clinical application monitoring system for proton pump inhibitors (PPI-MS) and to enhance the detection and intervention of inappropriate PPI use in adult hospitalised patients. METHODS: Natural language processing technology was applied to indication recognition of therapeutic PPI applications and the assessment of admission record recognition for preventive PPI applications. Symptom judgement was based on the tense-negation model and regular expressions. Evidence-based rules for clinical PPI application were embedded for the construction of PPI-MS. A total of 9421 patient records using PPI from July 2022 to July 2023 were analysed to validate the performance of the system and to identify common issues related to inappropriate clinical PPI use. RESULTS: Out of 9421 hospitalised patients detected using PPI, 4736 (50.27%) were used for prophylaxis and the rest for therapeutic use. Among the prophylactic medications, 2274 patients (48.02%) were identified as receiving inappropriate prophylactic PPI. The main reasons were inappropriate prophylaxis without indication. Additionally, 258 cases of inappropriate therapeutic PPI use were identified, mainly involving the use of esomeprazole for peptic ulcers and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. The efficiency of the PPI rational medication monitoring system, when coupled with human involvement, was 32 times that of manual monitoring. Among cases of inappropriate prophylactic PPI use, 45.29% were due to lack of indications, 28.34% involved inappropriate administration routes, 15.74% were related to inappropriate dosing frequencies and 10.62% were attributed to inappropriate drug selection. There were 933 cases related to the use of antiplatelet and anticoagulant drugs and 708 cases related to the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. The overall accuracy of the PPI-MS system was 88.69%, with a recall rate of 99.33%, and the F1 score was 93.71%. CONCLUSIONS: Establishing a PPI medication monitoring system through natural language processing technology, while ensuring accuracy and recall rates, improves evaluation efficiency and homogeneity. This provides a new solution for timely detection of issues relating to clinical PPI usage.

The continuous accumulation of microplastics in agricultural soils may affect the natural attenuation of oxygen-containing polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (OPAHs). The effects of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) microplastics with the spiking proportion of 1 % and 0.01 % in soils on the natural attenuation of OPAHs were investigated via soil microcosm experiments. The relation between the response of bacterial communities and OPAHs dissipation was also explored. The initial content of OPAHs in the soil was 34.6 mg·kg-1. The dissipation of OPAHs in the soil on day 14 was inhibited by LDPE. The contents of OPAHs in LDPE groups were higher than that in the control by 0.9-1.6 mg·kg-1, and the inhibition degree increased with the proportion of LDPE. The contents of OPAHs were not significantly different among groups on day 28, indicating that the inhibitory effect of LDPE disappeared. LDPE did not change the composition of the dominant taxa in the OPAHs-contaminated soil community but influenced the relative abundances of some dominant taxa. LDPE increased the relative abundance of Proteobacteria and Actinobacteria at the phylum level and decreased that of Bacillus and increased those of Micromonospora, Sphingomonas, and Nitrospira (potential degrading bacteria of LDPE and endogenous substances) at the genus level, all four of which were the main genera dominating intergroup community differences. LDPE changed the α and ß diversity of bacterial communities, but the extents were not significant. LDPE affected the function of the bacterial community, reducing the total abundance of PAHs-degrading genes and some degrading enzymes, inhibiting the growth of PAHs-degrading bacteria and thus interfering with the natural decay of OPAHs.

RÉSUMÉ

Two industrial solid wastes, Ti-bearing blast furnace slag (TBFS) and diamond wire saw silicon waste (DWSSW), contain large amounts of Ti and Si, and their accumulation wastes resources and intensifies environmental pollution. In the present study, DWSSW was used as the silicon source to reduce titanium oxide in TBFS by electromagnetic induction smelting, and meanwhile Na3AlF6 was added as a flux to improve the recycling of the wastes. Ti and Si of the two wastes were simultaneously recovered in the form of alloy. The effects of different addition amount of Na3AlF6 flux in the mixture of DWSSW and TBFS on chemical composition, viscosity, basicity and structure of slag were investigated. The dissolution behavior of SiO2 in Na3AlF6 flux was theoretically deduced and experimentally verification. The optimized recovery rate of Ti and Si were obtained, and the research realizes the efficient recycling of DWSSW and TBFS simultaneously.
