Quality of pet foods can be affected by many factors such as raw materials, formulations, and processing techniques. The pet food manufacturers require fast analyses to control the nutritional quality of their products. Herein, near-infrared spectroscopy (NIR) was evaluated to quantify the chemical composition of pet food, and the performances of two NIR spectrometers were investigated and compared: a benchtop instrument (1000-2500 nm) and a low-cost handheld instrument (900-1700 nm). Seventy cat food and thirty-six dog samples were characterized using reference methods for crude protein, crude fat, crude fibre, crude ash, moisture, calcium (Ca), and phosphorus (P). Principal component regression (PCR) and partial least squares regression (PLSR) were used to establish the models that involved the cat food and mixed model. The characteristic wavelengths were selected using a competitive adaptive reweighted-sampling (CARS) algorithm. The Optimal models obtained from the benchtop instrument for crude protein, crude fat, and moisture were classified as "Good" or "Very good" (Residual prediction variation (RPD) > 3), for crude fibre were classified as "Poor" (RPD>2), and for crude ash, Ca and P (RPD<2) were classified as "Very poor". The Optimal calibrations obtained from the handheld instrument for crude protein, crude fat, and moisture were classified as "Good" or "Very good" (RPD>3), for crude fibre, crude ash, Ca, and P were classified as "Very poor" (RPD<2). Generally, the the performance of benchtop and handheld instrument was close, and the cat food model outperformed the mixed model. Results from the current study revealed the potential to monitor the chemical compositions in pet food on a large scale.

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the microbiological characteristics of clinically isolated Staphylococcus aureus with different hemolytic phenotypes in China. Materials and Methods: Using the three-point inoculation method, the hemolytic phenotypes of 1295 clinically isolated S. aureus strains were detected and categorized. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing of all strains was performed using a VITEK 2 Compact System. After sample size matching, plasma coagulase activity, catalase activity, mRNA expression of hemolysin genes (hla, hlb, hlc, and hld), biofilm formation, growth kinetics, inflammatory response of macrophages and cytotoxicity of S. aureus with different hemolytic phenotypes using the rabbit plasma kit, the catalase test on slides, qRT-PCR, crystal violet staining, the microcultivation assay, the ELISA kits, and the CCK-8 assay, respectively. Results: Seven categories of hemolytic phenotypes were identified. Accordingly, strains were categorized into seven different groups, including S. aureus with complete hemolytic phenotype (SCHP), S. aureus with weak hemolytic phenotype (SWHP), S. aureus with incomplete hemolytic phenotype 1 (SIHP-1), SIHP-2, SIHP-3, SIHP-4 and SIHP-5, the last three of which were reported for the first time. Except for the hemolytic phenotype, all seven groups differed in clinical isolation rates, antibiotic resistance profile, plasma coagulase activity, mRNA expression of hemolysin genes, biofilm formation, growth kinetics, inflammatory response of macrophages, and cytotoxicity. Conclusion: S. aureus with different hemolytic phenotypes have distinctive microbiological characteristics. Clinical microbiologists need to be vigilant about the hemolytic phenotypes when culturing S. aureus strains, and actively enhance communication with clinicians to optimize the treatment of infection.

OBJECTIVE: The underlying mechanisms of Overactive Bladder (OAB) remain unclear. This research is designed to investigate the correlation between the intake of dietary live microorganisms and OAB. METHODS: This analysis encompasses a cross-sectional study of broad population information gathered from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (NHANES) spanning the years 2007 to 2018. Participants were categorized into three groups-low, medium, and high-according to their consumption of dietary live microorganisms, as per the Sanders Dietary Active Microbiota Classification System. We utilized a weighted logistic regression model, restricted cubic spline (RCS), and subgroup analyses to investigate the relationship between dietary live microorganism intake and OAB. RESULTS: This research encompassed 16,795 subjects. The incidence of OAB was reduced in the group consuming a high amount of live dietary microbes compared to the groups with low and medium intake of such microbes. After detailed adjustments for covariates, analysis revealed that participants in the high live dietary microbe group had notably reduced odds of OAB compared to those in the low live dietary microbe group (OR: 0.84, 95% CI: 0.71-0.99, p = 0.03). RCS analysis indicated a nonlinear correlation between high dietary active microbiota intake and the incidence of OAB. CONCLUSION: This research emphasizes the potential advantages of a high dietary intake of active microbiota for preventing OAB. These findings support incorporating active microbiota into dietary guidelines, demonstrating their connection with a decreased incidence of OAB.

131I has been extensively utilized in nuclear medicine, resulting in its widespread detection in coastal algal samples due to its discharge. Therefore, it is essential to monitor 131I in the coastal algal samples. γ-spectrometry is an expeditious method for measuring 131I, but this method requires the pretreatment of the algal sample. The effect on 131I in the algal sample during the oven-drying treatment is unclear. In this study, the Laminaria japonica Areschoug and Sargassum vachellianum Greville were collected at two locations and analyzed for 131I using γ-spectrometry. Additionally, the content of iodine was measured using an Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometer (ICP-MS) to clarify the effect of 131I loss during drying treatment at different temperatures. The results demonstrated that the dried Laminaria and Sargassum samples had calculated 131I activity concentration relative standard deviations (RSDs) of 6.34 % and 16.31 %, respectively, while the fresh samples exhibited RSDs of 11.70 % and 15.57 %. Additionally, the iodine content RSDs in the dried samples were 9.19 % for Laminaria and 10.34 % for Sargassum. Significantly, discrepancies in 131I activity concentration between the fresh and dried Laminaria and Sargassum were 5.4 % and 10.3 %. These findings indicate that the temperature factor in drying has no effect on 131I loss in Laminaria and Sargassum in the range of 70 °C-110 °C.

Increasing evidence highlights that fibroblast growth factor receptor 2 (FGFR2) fusion/rearrangement shows important therapeutic value for patients with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC). This study aims to explore the association of FGFR2 status with the prognosis and immune cell infiltration profiles of patients with ICC. A total of 226 ICC tissue samples from patients who received surgery at the Department of Liver Surgery at Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University, were collected retrospectively and assigned to a primary cohort (n = 152) and validation cohort (n = 74) group. Fluorescence in situ hybridization was performed to determine FGFR2 status. Multiplex immunofluorescence (mIF) staining and immunohistochemistry were performed to identify immune cells. Thirty-two (14.2%) ICC tissues presented with FGFR2 fusion/rearrangement. FGFR2 fusion/rearrangement was associated with low levels of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA, P = .026) and gamma glutamyl transferase (γ-GGT, P = .003), low TNM (P = .012), CNLC (P = .008) staging as well as low tumor cell differentiation (P = .016). Multivariate COX regression analyses revealed that FGFR2 fusion/rearrangement was an independent protective factor for both overall survival (OS) and relapse-free survival in patients with ICC. Furthermore, correlation analysis revealed that an FGFR2 fusion/rearrangement was associated with low levels of Tregs and N2 neutrophils and high levels of N1 neutrophils infiltrating into tumors but not with CD8+ T-cell or macrophage tumor infiltration. FGFR2 fusion/rearrangement may exert a profound impact on the prognosis of ICC patients and reprogram the tumor microenvironment to be an immune-activated state. FGFR2 status may be used for ICC prognostic stratification and as an immunotherapeutic target in patients with ICC.

Extracellular vesicles from skin-derived precursor Schwann cells (SKP-SC-EVs) promote neurite outgrowth in culture and enhance peripheral nerve regeneration in rats. This study aimed at expanding the application of SKP-SC-EVs in nerve grafting by creating a chitosan/PLGA-based, SKP-SC-EVs-containing tissue engineered nerve graft (TENG) to bridge a 40-mm long sciatic nerve defect in dogs. SKP-SC-EVs contained in TENGs significantly accelerated the recovery of hind limb motor and electrophysiological functions, supported the outgrowth and myelination of regenerated axons, and alleviated the denervation-induced atrophy of target muscles in dogs. To clarify the underlying molecular mechanism, we observed that SKP-SC-EVs were rich in a variety of miRNAs linked to the axon growth of neurons, and miR-30b-5p was the most important among others. We further noted that miR-30b-5p contained within SKP-SC-EVs exerted nerve regeneration-promoting effects by targeting the Sin3a/HDAC complex and activating the phosphorylation of ERK, STAT3 or CREB. Our findings suggested that SKP-SC-EVs-incorporating TENGs represent a novel type of bioactive material with potential application for peripheral nerve repair in the clinic.

Boulenophrys sangzhiensis and Boulenophrys tuberogranulata, two narrow-distributed toad species within the Megophryidae family in southern China, are experiencing population declines due to habitat loss and degradation. Despite their critical conservation status, the two species remain largely overlooked in public and scientific spheres. This study presented the first sequencing, assembly, and annotation of the complete mitogenomes of both species using next-generation sequencing. The mitogenome of B. sangzhiensis was 16,950 bp, while that of B. tuberogranulata was 16,841 bp, each comprising 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA genes (tRNAs), two ribosomal RNA genes (rRNAs), and a noncoding control region (D-loop). The gene content, nucleotide composition, and evolutionary rates of each mitogenome were analyzed. Both mitogenomes exhibited negative AT skew and GC skew with high A + T content. ATP8 exhibited the highest evolutionary rate, while COI had the lowest. A phylogenetic analysis based on 28 mitogenomes revealed two major clades of Megophryidae, supporting the classification of two subfamilies, Megophryinae and Leptobrachiinae. Within the subfamily Megophryinae, the genus Boulenophrys was divided into two species groups. Intriguingly, despite coexisting in Zhangjiajie City, B. sangzhiensis and B. tuberogranulata exhibited distinct origins from the two different species groups, underscoring the unique role of the coexisting area Zhangjiajie in driving their speciation and preserving their current populations. A parallel pattern was also identified in the Leptobrachiinae genus Leptobrachium within the same region. This study provided valuable data references and enhanced our understanding of the molecular characteristics of these threatened amphibian species.

Shale reservoirs are characterized by an abundance of nanoscale porosities and microfractures. The states of fluid occurrence and flow behaviors within nanoconfined spaces necessitate novel research approaches, as traditional percolation mathematical models are inadequate for accurately depicting these phenomena. This study takes the Gulong shale reservoir in China as the subject of its research. Initially, the unique mixed wetting characteristics of the Gulong shale reservoir are examined and characterized using actual micropore images. Subsequently, the occurrence and flow behavior of oil within the nanoscale bedding fractures under various wettability scenarios are described through a combination of microscopic pore image and molecular dynamics simulations. Ultimately, a mathematical model is established that depicts the velocity distribution of oil and its apparent permeability. This study findings indicate that when the scale of the shale bedding fractures is less than 100 nm, the impact of the nanoconfinement effect is significant and cannot be overlooked. In this scenario, the state of oil occurrence and its flow behavior are influenced by the initial oil-wet surface area on the mixed wetting walls. The study quantifies the velocity and density distribution of oil in mixed wetting nanoscale shale bedding fractures through a mathematical model, providing a crucial theoretical basis for upscaling from the nanoscale to the macroscale.

Vicia sativa ssp. amphicarpa is a unique forage crop capable of simultaneously producing fruits above and below ground, representing a typical amphicarpic plant. In this study, we sequenced and assembled seven pseudo-chromosomes of the genome of V. sativa ssp. amphicarpa (n = 7) yielding a genome size of 1.59 Gb, with a total annotation of 48 932 protein-coding genes. Long terminal repeat (LTR) elements constituted 62.28% of the genome, significantly contributing to the expansion of genome size. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that the divergence between V. sativa ssp. amphicarpa and V. sativa was around 0.88 million years ago (MYA). Comparative transcriptomic and metabolomic analysis of aerial and subterranean pod shells showed biosynthesis of terpenoids in the subterranean pod shells indicating a correlation between the antimicrobial activity of subterranean pod shells and the biosynthesis of terpenoids. Furthermore, functional validation indicates that overexpression of VsTPS5 and VsTPS16 enhances terpenoid biosynthesis for antibacterial activity. Metabolomic analysis suggests the involvement of terpenoids in the antimicrobial properties of subterranean pod shells. Deciphering the genome of V. sativa ssp. amphicarpa elucidated the molecular mechanisms behind the antimicrobial properties of subterranean fruits in amphicarpic plants, providing valuable insights for the study of amphicarpic plant biology.

The development of functional surgical sutures with excellent mechanical properties, good fluorescence, and high cytocompatibility is highly required in the field of medical surgeries. Achieving fibers that simultaneously exhibit high mechanical robustness, good spinnability, and durable fluorescence emission has remained challenging up to now. Taking inspiration from the spinning process of spider silk and the luminescence mechanism of jellyfish, this work reports a luminous artificial spider silk prepared with the aim of balancing the fiber spinnability and mechanical robustness. This is realized by employing highly hydrated segments with aggregation-induced luminescence for enhancing the fiber spinnability and polyhydroxyl segments for increasing the fiber mechanical robustness. Twist insertion during fiber spinning improves the fiber strength, toughness, and fluorescence emission. Furthermore, coating the fiber with an additional polymer layer results in a "sheath-core" architecture with improved mechanical properties and capacity to withstand water. This work provides a new design strategy for performing luminescent and robust surgical sutures.

BACKGROUND: To evaluate long-term quality of life and survival in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) patients after pancreatoduodenectomy with extended lymphadenectomy (PDEL) and identify candidates. METHODS: Patients with resectable PDAC with ≥1 examined lymph node (LN) during pancreatoduodenectomy (PD), and were divided into the PD with standard lymphadenectomy (PDSL) and PDEL groups. Perioperative data, long-term quality of life and survival were compared, and the prognostic effect of LNs ± in every peripancreatic station were analysed. RESULTS: Screening 446 PDAC patients, 237 and 126 were included in the PDSL and PDEL groups, respectively. The PDEL group showed a longer operation time, greater intraoperative blood loss, severe diarrhoea, a higher incidence of grade III complications. Notably, the PDEL patients experienced significant relief from low back pain and diarrhoea, with an obvious survival advantage (p = 0.037), especially in patients with preoperative tumor contact with vascular and pathological N0; however, LNs+ in any station (No. 8p, 12, 14, or 16) were associated with a poorer prognosis. The vascular reconstruction, T and N stage were independent risk factors for survival. CONCLUSION: PDEL can relieve symptoms and prolong the survival of PDAC patients with acceptable complications, and EL should be performed regardless of preoperative LN enlargement.

Evolution of SARS-CoV-2 variants emphasizes the need for multivalent vaccines capable of simultaneously targeting multiple strains. SCTV01E is a tetravalent COVID-19 vaccine derived from the spike protein of SARS-CoV-2 variants Alpha, Beta, Delta, and Omicron BA.1. In this double-blinded placebo-controlled pivotal efficacy trial (NCT05308576), the primary endpoint was vaccine efficacy (VE) against COVID-19 seven days post-vaccination in individuals without recent infection. Other endpoints included evaluating safety, immunogenicity, and the VE against all SARS-CoV-2 infections in individuals meeting the study criteria. Between December 26, 2022, and January 15, 2023, 9,223 individuals were randomized at a 1:1 ratio to receive SCTV01E or a placebo. SCTV01E showed a VE of 69.4% (95% CI: 50.6, 81.0) 7 days post-vaccination, with 75 cases in the placebo group and 23 in the SCTV01E group for the primary endpoint. VEs were 79.7% (95% CI: 51.0, 91.6) and 82.4% (95% CI: 57.9, 92.6), respectively, for preventing symptomatic infection and all SARS-CoV-2 infections 14 days post-vaccination. SCTV01E elicited a 25.0-fold higher neutralizing antibody response against Omicron BA.5 28 days post-vaccination compared to placebo. Reactogenicity was generally mild and transient, with no reported vaccine-related SAE, adverse events of special interest (AESI), or deaths. The trial aligned with the shift from dominant variants BA.5 and BF.7 to XBB, suggesting SCTV01E as a potential vaccine alternative effective against present and future variants.

Objective: To determine the efficacy of mechanical thrombectomy combined with prolonged mild hypothermia compared with conventional treatment in managing acute middle cerebral artery occlusion, and to explore whether extending the duration of hypothermia can improve neurological function. Method: From 2018 to June 2023, a retrospective analysis was conducted on 45 patients with acute middle cerebral artery occlusion treated at the NICU of Suzhou Kowloon Hospital, affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. After thrombectomy, patients were admitted to the neurological intensive care unit (NICU) for targeted temperature management. Patients were divided into two groups: the mild hypothermia group (34.5-35.9°C) receiving 5-7 days of treatment, and the normothermia group (control group) whose body temperature was kept between 36 and 37.5°C using pharmacological and physical cooling methods. Baseline characteristics and temperature changes were compared between the two groups of patients. The primary outcome was the modified Rankin Scale (mRS) score at 3 month after surgery, and the secondary outcomes were related complications and mortality rate. Prognostic risk factors were investigated using both univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses. Results: Among 45 patients, 21 underwent prolonged mild hypothermia, and 24 received normothermia, with no significant differences in baseline characteristics between the two groups. The duration of mild hypothermia ranged from 5 to 7 days. The incidence of chills (33.3% vs. 8.3%, p = 0.031) and constipation (57.1% vs. 20.8%, p = 0.028) was significantly higher in the mild hypothermia group compared with the control group. There was no significant difference in mortality rates between the mild hypothermia and the control group (4.76% vs. 8.33%, p = 1.000, OR = 1.75, 95% CI, 0.171-17.949). At 3 month, there was no significant difference in the modified mRS (0-3) score between the mild hypothermia and control groups (52.4% vs. 25%, p = 0.114, OR = 0.477, 95% CI, 0.214-1.066). Infarct core volume was an independent risk factor for adverse neurological outcomes. Conclusion: Prolonged mild hypothermia following mechanical thrombectomy had no severe complications and shows a trend to improve the prognosis of neurological function. The Infarct core volume on CTP was an independent risk factor for predicting neurological function.

SARS-CoV-2 has been evolving into a large number of variants, including the highly pathogenic Delta variant, and the currently prevalent Omicron subvariants with extensive evasion capability, which raises an urgent need to develop new broad-spectrum neutralizing antibodies. Herein, we engineer two IgG-(scFv)2 form bispecific antibodies with overlapping epitopes (bsAb1) or non-overlapping epitopes (bsAb2). Both bsAbs are significantly superior to the parental monoclonal antibodies in terms of their antigen-binding and virus-neutralizing activities against all tested circulating SARS-CoV-2 variants including currently dominant JN.1. The bsAb1 can efficiently neutralize all variants insensitive to parental monoclonal antibodies or the cocktail with IC50 lower than 20 ng/mL, even slightly better than bsAb2. Furthermore, the cryo-EM structures of bsAb1 in complex with the Omicron spike protein revealed that bsAb1 with overlapping epitopes effectively locked the S protein, which accounts for its conserved neutralization against Omicron variants. The bispecific antibody strategy engineered from overlapping epitopes provides a novel solution for dealing with viral immune evasion.

Background/Aims: Previous studies have shown that diet and physical activity can influence constipation. However, the combined effect of diet and physical activity on constipation remains unclear. Methods: Constipation was defined based on stool consistency and frequency, while overall diet quality was assessed using Healthy Eating Index (HEI)-2015 scores. Participants were categorized into low (metabolic equivalent [MET]-min/wk < 500) and high physical activity groups (MET-min/wk ≥ 500). The association between diet and constipation across physical activity groups was analyzed using survey logistic regression and restricted cubic splines. Results: Higher HEI-2015 scores were associated with reduced constipation risk in the high physical activity group when constipation was defined by stool consistency (odds ratio [OR], 0.98; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.97-0.99). However, in the low physical activity group, increased HEI-2015 scores did not significantly affect constipation risk (OR, 1.01; 95% CI, 0.97-1.05). Similar results were found when constipation was defined based on stool frequency. In the high physical activity group, increased HEI-2015 scores were significantly associated with a reduced constipation risk (OR, 0.96; 95% CI, 0.94-0.98). Conversely, in the low physical activity group, increased HEI-2015 scores did not affect the risk of constipation (OR, 0.96; 95% CI, 0.90-1.03). Conclusions: Our findings suggest that a higher HEI-2015 score is negatively associated with constipation among individuals with high physical activity levels but not among those with low physical activity levels. This association was consistent when different definitions of constipation were used. These results highlight the importance of combining healthy diet with regular physical activity to alleviate constipation.

Nutrient pollutants serve as indicative pollutants in urban stormwater runoff, and usually coexist and transport in particulate and dissolved phase in runoff, which is complex and crucial for effective pollution control. In this study, nitrogen and phosphorus runoff samples were collected during various natural rainfall events to explore its transport process over urban road surface during rainfall runoff. The results showed that nitrogen mainly exists in the dissolved phase (mean proportion: 62.04 %), while phosphorus mainly exists in the particulate phase (mean proportion: 65.58 %). More nitrogen and phosphorus are present and transported in dissolved phase in initial rainfall runoff over urban roads. Nutrient concentration changes during rainfall events were influenced by factors such as rainfall intensity and surface runoff, resulting in multiple peaks. Transport rate peak and concentration peak did not coincide. The proportion of dissolved total nitrogen in the runoff process ranged mainly between 40 % and 80 %, and the proportion of dissolved ammonia was distributed between 60 % and 100 %. The proportion of dissolved phosphorus was more evenly distributed across each proportion interval. Influenced by the differences in phase proportions, first flush processes of nitrogen and phosphorus are not the same. Urban stormwater management measures should prioritize both the initial concentration peaks and the peaks in nutrient transport rates during rainfall. This approach is essential for enhancing the efficiency of stormwater pollutant collection and treatment.

Ischemic heart disease (IHD) remains a leading cause of mortalities worldwide, necessitating timely reperfusion to reduce acute mortality. Paradoxically, reperfusion can induce myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury, which is primarily characterized by mitochondrial dysfunction. Translocator protein (TSPO) participates in multiple cellular events; however, its role in IHD, especially in the process of myocardial I/R injury, has not been well determined. The aim of the present study was to investigate the functional role of TSPO in myocardial I/R injury and dissect the concomitant cellular events involved. This study utilized small interfering RNA (siRNA) technology to knock down TSPO expression. The I/R process was simulated using an anoxia/reoxygenation (A/R) model. The role of TSPO in H9c2 cardiomyocytes was assessed using various techniques, such as Western blotting, Flow cytometry, Reverse transcription-quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR), Immunofluorescence, Co-immunoprecipitation (co-IP) and similar methods. It was found that A/R markedly upregulated the expression of TSPO in cardiomyocytes. Inhibition of TSPO improved myocardial cell apoptosis and damage following A/R stimulation. Additionally, targeting TSPO alleviated mitochondrial damage, reduced mitochondrial ROS release and enhanced ATP synthesis following A/R stimulation. It was further confirmed that A/R stimulation induced a significant increase in the expression of pivotal markers [phosporylated-PKR-like ER kinase (PERK)/PERK, activating transcription factor 6 (ATF6) and inositol-requiring enzyme 1] involved in the adaptive unfolded protein response, which is accompanied by downstream signaling during endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress. Notably, TSPO knockdown increased the expression of the aforementioned markers and, subsequently, TSPO was confirmed to interact with ATF6, suggesting that TSPO might play a role in ER stress during myocardial I/R injury. Finally, inhibition of TSPO upregulated mitophagy, as indicated by further decreases in P62 and increases in Parkin and PINK1 levels following A/R stimulation. Together, the results suggest that TSPO plays a multifaceted role in myocardial I/R injury. Understanding TSPO-induced cellular responses could inform targeted therapeutic strategies for patients with IHD.

Cracks in tunnel lining structures constitute a common and serious problem that jeopardizes the safety of traffic and the durability of the tunnel. The similarity between lining seams and cracks in terms of strength and morphological characteristics renders the detection of cracks in tunnel lining structures challenging. To address this issue, a new deep learning-based method for crack detection in tunnel lining structures is proposed. First, an improved attention mechanism is introduced for the morphological features of lining seams, which not only aggregates global spatial information but also features along two dimensions, height and width, to mine more long-distance feature information. Furthermore, a mixed strip convolution module leveraging four different directions of strip convolution is proposed. This module captures remote contextual information from various angles to avoid interference from background pixels. To evaluate the proposed approach, the two modules are integrated into a U-shaped network, and experiments are conducted on Tunnel200, a tunnel lining crack dataset, as well as the publicly available crack datasets Crack500 and DeepCrack. The results show that the approach outperforms existing methods and achieves superior performance on these datasets.

This paper explores the innovative practice of embedding traditional Chinese cultural elements into scientific paper illustrations, highlighting its significant role in augmenting the global appeal of research findings, promoting diversity and innovation in scientific inquiry, and facilitating cross-cultural understanding. Through a series of case studies, including symbolic representations of ancient myths and the use of traditional themes to elucidate complex scientific phenomena, we demonstrate how this cultural integration not only makes scientific content more accessible and engaging but also fosters a deeper appreciation of Chinese heritage among international audiences. This approach not only bridges the gap between science and culture but also contributes to a more inclusive and interconnected global scientific community, underscoring the importance of cultural diversity in enriching scientific exploration and communication.
