RÉSUMÉ

The art of teaching in undergraduate and post graduate medical curriculum was revised in last century with targeted programs to equip the medical faculty with advanced teaching technologies. Medical education units (MEUs) were established by the medical council to train the existing medical faculty of the country in teaching methodologies. This study aimed to evaluate the MEU's impact on teachers' training and compare the status of trained teachers before and after the MEU era. Published literature and statistics on the MCI website were compiled to compare teachers' training status over time empirically. MEU, R.C., and N.C. have been highly efficient in improving the proportion of teachers trained from 5.38 to 50.32% across the country, especially after the upgradation of MEU in 2009. Proportion of the teachers trained increased from 5.38% to 50.32% due to the programs organized by various MEU, regional and nodal centres, especially after the upgradation of MEU in 2009. Lack of trained resource persons and administrative support were the common challenges faced. Properly organized MEU and planned activities should be emphasized in every institute. for effective development of the faculties.

RÉSUMÉ

Forespore membrane (FSM) closure is a process of specialized cytokinesis in yeast meiosis. FSM closure begins with the contraction of the FSM opening and finishes with the disassembly of the leading-edge proteins (LEPs) from the FSM opening. Here, we show that the FSM opening starts to contract when the event of virtual nuclear envelope breakdown (vNEBD) occurs in anaphase II of the fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe. The occurrence of vNEBD controls the redistribution of the proteasomal subunit Rpn11 from the nucleus to the cytosol. To investigate the importance of Rpn11 re-localization during vNEBD, Rpn11 was sequestered at the inner nuclear membrane by fusion with the transmembrane region of Bqt4 (Rpn11-GFP-INM). Remarkably, in the absence of endogenous rpn11+, the cells carrying Rpn11-GFP-INM had abnormal or no spore formation. Live-cell imaging analysis further reveals that the FSM opening failed to contract when vNEBD occurred, and the LEP Meu14 was persistently present at the FSM in the rpn11-gfp-INM cells. The results suggest that the dynamic localization of Rpn11 during vNEBD is essential for spore development.

RÉSUMÉ

None of the classification systems for distal radius fractures is ideal. However a validated system to analyze these fractures is available that is based on the "metaphysis, epiphysis, ulna" (MEU) classification and the "patient, accident, fracture" (PAF) system. It makes it possible to understand the injury and select the best treatment.

RÉSUMÉ

Circulardiscs of Li2SiO3 doped with europium were prepared and a new activation procedure for the neutron dose estimation in a breeder blanket of fusion reactor is described. The amount of europium in the disc was determined by neutron activation analysis (NAA) using an isotopic neutron source. The average neutron absorption cross section for the reaction was calculated using neutron distribution of the Am-Be source and available neutron absorption cross section data for the 151Eu(n,γ)152mEu reaction, which was used for estimation of europium in the pallet. The cross section of the elements varies with neutron energy, and the flux of the neutrons in each energy range seen by the nuclei under investigation also varies. Neutron distribution spectrum of the Am-Be source was worked out prior to NAA and the effective fractional flux for the nuclear reaction considered for the flux estimation was also determined.
