Biomacromolecular condensates formed via phase separation establish compartments for the enrichment of specific compositions, which is also used as a biological tool to enhance molecule condensation, thereby increasing the efficiency of biological processes. Proteolysis-targeting chimeras (PROTACs) have been developed as powerful tools for targeted protein degradation in cells, offering a promising approach for therapies for different diseases. Herein, we introduce an intrinsically disordered region in the PROTAC (denoted PSETAC), which led to the formation of droplets of target proteins in the cells and increased degradation efficiency compared with PROTAC without phase separation. Further, using a nucleus targeting intrinsically disordered domain, the PSETAC was able to target and degrade nuclear-located proteins. Finally, we demonstrated intracellular delivery of PSETAC using lipid nanoparticle-encapsulated mRNA (mRNA-LNP) for the degradation of the endogenous target protein. This study established the PSETAC mRNA-LNP method as a potentially translatable, safe therapeutic strategy for the development of clinical applications based on PROTAC.

We calculate the next-to-next-to-leading-order (NNLO) QCD radiative correction to the pion electromagnetic form factor with large momentum transfer. We explicitly verify the validity of the collinear factorization to two-loop order for this observable and obtain the respective IR-finite two-loop hard-scattering kernel in the closed form. The NNLO QCD correction turns out to be positive and significant. Incorporating this new ingredient of correction, we then make a comprehensive comparison between the finest theoretical predictions and numerous data for both space- and timelike pion form factors. Our phenomenological analysis provides a strong constraint on the second Gegenbauer moment of the pion light-cone distribution amplitude obtained from recent lattice QCD studies.

Due to the increase in emission requirements for non-road vehicles in many countries and the reduction of agricultural personnel, tractors are developing towards high horsepower and electrification. According to the working conditions of high-horsepower tractors, a hydromechanical continuously variable transmission (HMCVT) is designed for hybrid tractors. Taking a tractor equipped with this transmission as the research object, an equivalent factor global optimization model was established and a genetic algorithm was used to optimize the equivalent factor S offline to obtain the optimal equivalent factor of the tractor under different operating mileage and the initial state of charge (SOC) of battery. By using the optimized equivalent factor, the tractor can be in the charge depleting (CD) mode for a longer time on the premise of making full use of the energy in the battery, so as to improve the auxiliary ability of the motor in the whole operation cycle to reduce the fuel consumption of the tractor. The effectiveness of the control strategy is verified by MATLAB/Simulink and hardware in the loop (HIL) tests, and the fuel economy of tractors is improved by 2.939% and 3.909% respectively in the two tests.

The rapid advancement in nanofiber technologies has revolutionized the domain of yarn materials, marking a significant leap in textile technology. This review dissects the nexus between cutting-edge nanofiber technologies and yarn manufacturing, aiming to illuminate the pathway toward engineering advanced textiles with unparalleled functionality. It first discusses the fundamentals of nanofiber assemblies and spinning techniques, primarily focusing on electrospinning, centrifugal spinning, and blow spinning. Additionally, the study delves into integrating nanofiber spinning technologies with traditional and modern yarn fabrication principles, elucidating the design principles that underlie the creation of yarns incorporating nanofibers. Twisting technologies are explored to examine how they can be optimized and adapted for incorporating nanofibers, thus enabling the production of innovative nanofiber-based yarns. Special attention is given to scalable strategies like centrifugal and blow spinning, which are spotlighted for their efficiency and scalability in fabricating nanofiber yarns. This review further analyses recently developed nanofiber yarn applications, including wearable sensors, biomedical devices, moisture management textiles, and energy harvesting and storage devices. We finally present a forward-looking perspective to address unresolved issues in nanofiber-based yarn technologies.

Safety hazards caused by flammable electrolytes have been major obstacles to the practical application of sodium-ion batteries (SIBs). The adoption of nonflammable all-phosphate electrolytes can effectively improve the safety of SIBs; however, traditional low-concentration phosphate electrolytes are not compatible with carbon-based anodes. Herein, we report an anion-cation interaction modulation strategy to design low-concentration phosphate electrolytes with superior physicochemical properties. Tris(2,2,2-trifluoroethyl) phosphate (TFEP) is introduced as a cosolvent to regulate the ion-solvent-coordinated (ISC) structure through enhancing the anion-cation interactions, forming the stable anion-induced ISC (AI-ISC) structure, even at a low salt concentration (1.22 M). Through spectroscopy analyses and theoretical calculations, we reveal the underlying mechanism responsible for the stabilization of these electrolytes. Impressively, both the hard carbon (HC) anode and Na4Fe2.91(PO4)2(P2O7) (NFPP) cathode work well with the developed electrolytes. The designed phosphate electrolyte enables Ah-level HC//NFPP pouch cells with an average Coulombic efficiency (CE) of over 99.9% and a capacity retention of 84.5% after 2000 cycles. In addition, the pouch cells can operate in a wide temperature range (-20 to 60 °C) and successfully pass rigorous safety testing. This work provides new insight into the design of the electrochemically compatibility electrolyte for high-safety and long-lifetime SIBs.

Growth period determination and color coordinates prediction are essential for comparing postharvest fruit quality. This paper proposes a tomato growth period judgment and color coordinates prediction model based on hyperspectral imaging technology. It utilizes the most effective color coordinates prediction model to obtain a color visual image. Firstly, hyperspectral images were taken of tomatoes at different growth periods (green-ripe, color-changing, half-ripe, and full-ripe), and color coordinates (L*, a*, b*, c, h) were obtained using a colorimeter. The sample set was divided by the sample set partitioning based on joint X-Y distances (SPXY). The support vector machine (SVM), K-nearest neighbors (KNN), and linear discriminant analysis (LDA) were used to discriminate growth period. Results show that the LDA model has the best prediction effect with a prediction set accuracy of 93.1%. In addition, effective wavelengths were selected using competitive adaptive reweighted sampling (CARS) and successive projections algorithm (SPA), and chromaticity prediction models were established using partial least squares regression (PLSR), multiple linear regression (MLR), principal component regression (PCR) and support vector machine regression (SVR) Finally, the color of each pixel of the tomato is calculated using the optimal model, generating a visual distribution image of the color coordinate. The results showed that hyperspectral imaging can non-destructively detect tomatoes' growth stage and color coordinates, providing great significance for designing a tomato quality grading system.

OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the effectiveness of music therapy in reducing anxiety, pain, and vital sign changes in ophthalmic surgery patients. METHODS: An extensive search of databases, including PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Google Scholar, identified relevant studies up to Jan 2024. Selection of studies was conducted based on the PICOS criteria. The quality of methodology was assessed using the Cochrane risk-of-bias assessment tool and Review Manager 5.4. Meta-analysis comparing the control group and the music therapy group was performed using R and Stata/SE 15.1 random or fixed effects model. RESULTS: This meta-analysis included fifteen studies comprising 2098 participants. The analysis revealed that music therapy significantly reduced the risk of high anxiety levels as measured by Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) (I2 = 0%, RR(95%CI): 0.75(0.63, 0.88), p = 0.0006), indicating a substantial effect without heterogeneity. The Anxiety scores determined by State-Trait Anxiety Inventory-State (STAI-S) also showed a significant decrease (SMD(95%CI): -0.75(-0.88, -0.61), p < 0.0001), albeit with moderate heterogeneity (I² = 36%). Additionally, music therapy was associated with a reduction in intraoperative pain levels, with no observed heterogeneity (I2 = 0%, SMD(95%CI): -0.74(-0.93, -0.56), p < 0.0001). In contrast, music intervention did not significantly influence self-reported nervousness, relaxation, or satisfaction levels as determined by VAS. Regarding to physiological parameters, a marginal decrease in systolic blood pressure (SBP) was observed (SMD(95%CI): -0.42(-0.79, -0.04), p = 0.0286), with considerable heterogeneity (I² = 92%). Diastolic blood pressure (DBP) experienced a slight reduction (I² = 90%, SMD(95%CI): -0.45(-0.79, -0.11), p = 0.0088). However, no significant effect was observed on patients' heart rate (p = 0.0864). CONCLUSION: Music therapy effectively reduced anxiety and pain, and moderately improved vital signs in patients undergoing ophthalmic surgery, highlighting its role in enhancing patient well-being. Further in-depth RCTs are needed to confirm its efficacy.

Antiplatelet therapy is an important factor influencing the postterm patency rate of carotid artery stenting (CAS). Clopidogrel is a platelet aggregation inhibitor mediated by the adenosine diphosphate receptor and is affected by CYP2C19 gene polymorphisms in vivo. When the CYP2C19 gene has a nonfunctional mutation, the activity of the encoded enzyme will be weakened or lost, which directly affects the metabolism of clopidogrel and ultimately weakens its antiplatelet aggregation ability. Therefore, based on network pharmacology, analyzing the influence of CYP2C19 gene polymorphisms on the antiplatelet therapeutic effect of clopidogrel after CAS is highly important for the formulation of individualized clinical drug regimens. The effect of the CYP2C19 gene polymorphism on the antiplatelet aggregation of clopidogrel after CAS was analyzed based on network pharmacology. A total of 100 patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease who were confirmed by the neurology department and required CAS treatment were studied. CYP2C19 genotyping was performed on all patients via a gene chip. All patients were classified into the wild-type (WT) group (*1/*1), heterozygous mutation (HTM) group (CYP2C19*1/*2, CYP2C19*1/*3), and homozygous mutation (HMM) group (CYP2C19*2/*2, CYP2C19*2/*3, and CYP2C19*3/*3). High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) was used to detect the blood concentration of clopidogrel and the plasma clopidogrel clearance (CL) rate in different groups of patients before and after clopidogrel treatment. The platelet aggregation rate of patients with different genotypes was measured by turbidimetry. The incidences of clopidogrel resistance (CR) and stent thrombosis in different groups after three months of treatment were analyzed. The results showed that among the different CYP2C19 genotypes, patients from the HTM group accounted for the most patients, while patients from the HTM group accounted for the least patients. Similarly, the clopidogrel CL of patients in the HMM group was lower than that of patients in the WT group and HTM group (P < 0.01). The platelet inhibition rate of patients in the HMM group was evidently inferior to that of patients in the WT group and HTM group (P < 0.01). The incidence of CR and stent thrombosis in the WT group was notably lower than that in the HTM and HMM groups (P < 0.01). These results indicate that the CYP2C19 gene can affect CR occurrence and stent thrombosis after CAS by influencing clopidogrel metabolism and platelet count.

The detection of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) nucleic acid detection provides a direct basis for diagnosing Coronavirus Disease 2019. However, nucleic acid test false-negative results are common in practice and may lead to missed diagnosis. Certain biomarkers, clinical symptoms, and imaging examinations are related to SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid detection and potential predictors. We examined nucleic acid test results, biomarkers, clinical symptoms, and imaging examination data for 116 confirmed cases and asymptomatic infections in Zhuhai, China. Patients were divided into nucleic acid-positive and -false-negative groups. Predictive values of biomarkers, symptoms, and imaging for the nucleic acid-positive rate were calculated by Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operators regression analysis and binary logistic regression analysis, and areas under the curve of these indicators were calculated. Hemoglobin (OR = 1.018, 95% CI: 1.006-1.030; P = .004) was higher in the respiratory tract-positive group than the nucleic acid-negative group, but platelets (OR = 0.996, 95% CI: 0.993-0.999; P = .021) and eosinophils (OR = 0.013, 95% CI: 0.001-0.253; P = .004) were lower; areas under the curve were 0.563, 0.614, and 0.642, respectively. Some biomarkers can predict SARS-CoV-2 viral nucleic acid detection rates in Coronavirus Disease 2019 and are potential auxiliary diagnostic tests.

Klebsiella pneumoniae has become one of the most intractable gram-negative pathogens infecting humans and animals due to its severe antibiotic resistance. Bacteriophages and protein products derived from them are receiving increasing amounts of attention as potential alternatives to antibiotics. In this study, we isolated and investigated the characteristics of a new lytic phage, P1011, which lyses K5 K. pneumoniae specifically among 26 serotypes. The K5-specific capsular polysaccharide-degrading depolymerase dep1011 was identified and expressed. By establishing murine infection models using bovine strain B16 (capable of supporting phage proliferation) and human strain KP181 (incapable of sustaining phage expansion), we explored the safety and efficacy of phage and dep1011 treatments against K5 K. pneumoniae. Phage P1011 resulted in a 60% survival rate of the mice challenged with K. pneumoniae supporting phage multiplication, concurrently lowering the bacterial burden in their blood, liver, and lungs. Unexpectedly, even when confronted with bacteria impervious to phage multiplication, phage therapy markedly decreased the number of viable organisms. The protective efficacy of the depolymerase was significantly better than that of the phage. The depolymerase achieved 100% survival in both treatment groups regardless of phage propagation compatibility. These findings indicated that P1011 and dep1011 might be used as potential antibacterial agents to control K5 K. pneumoniae infection.

After the termination of zero-COVID-19 policy, the populace in China has experienced both Omicron BA.5 and XBB waves. Considering the poor antibody responses and severe outcomes observed among the elderly following infection, we conducted a longitudinal investigation to examine the epidemiological characteristics and antibody kinetics among 107 boosted elderly participants following the Omicron BA.5 and XBB waves. We observed that 96 participants (89.7%) were infected with Omicron BA.5, while 59 (55.1%) participants were infected with Omicron XBB. Notably, 52 participants (48.6%) experienced dual infections of both Omicron BA.5 and XBB. The proportion of symptomatic cases appeared to decrease following the XBB wave (18.6%) compared to that after the BA.5 wave (59.3%). Omicron BA.5 breakthrough infection induced lower neutralizing antibody titers against XBB.1.5, BA.2.86, and JN.1, while reinfection with Omicron XBB broadened the antibody responses against all measured Omicron subvariants and may alleviate the wild type-vaccination induced immune imprinting. Boosted vaccination type and comorbidities were the significant factors associated with antibody responses. Updated vaccines based on emerging severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 variants are needed to control the Coronavirus Disease 2019 pandemic in the elderly.

Despite its high mortality, specific and effective drugs for sepsis are lacking. Decoy receptor 3 (DcR3) is a potential biomarker for the progression of inflammatory diseases. The recombinant human DcR3-Fc chimera protein (DcR3.Fc) suppresses inflammatory responses in mice with sepsis, which is critical for improving survival. The Fc region can exert detrimental effects on the patient, and endogenous peptides are highly conducive to clinical application. However, the mechanisms underlying the effects of DcR3 on sepsis are unknown. Herein, we aimed to demonstrate that DcR3 may be beneficial in treating sepsis and investigated its mechanism of action. Recombinant DcR3 was obtained in vitro. Postoperative DcR3 treatment was performed in mouse models of lipopolysaccharide- and cecal ligation and puncture (CLP)-induced sepsis, and their underlying molecular mechanisms were explored. DcR3 inhibited sustained excessive inflammation in vitro, increased the survival rate, reduced the proinflammatory cytokine levels, changed the circulating immune cell composition, regulated the gut microbiota, and induced short-chain fatty acid synthesis in vivo. Thus, DcR3 protects against CLP-induced sepsis by inhibiting the inflammatory response and apoptosis. Our study provides valuable insights into the molecular mechanisms associated with the protective effects of DcR3 against sepsis, paving the way for future clinical studies. IMPORTANCE: Sepsis affects millions of hospitalized patients worldwide each year, but there are no sepsis-specific drugs, which makes sepsis therapies urgently needed. Suppression of excessive inflammatory responses is important for improving the survival of patients with sepsis. Our results demonstrate that DcR3 ameliorates sepsis in mice by attenuating systematic inflammation and modulating gut microbiota, and unveil the molecular mechanism underlying its anti-inflammatory effect.

PURPOSE: Rapunzel syndrome is an uncommon condition in children, and its clinical features remain unclear. This study presents the largest single-center series of pediatric cases to date, with the objective of documenting the clinical characteristics and treatment approaches for children with Rapunzel syndrome. METHODS: A retrospective study was conducted in children with Rapunzel syndrome from 2019 to 2023. We recorded age, gender, symptoms, locations of bezoar, complications, and treatment options. RESULTS: Ten patients with Rapunzel syndrome were included. The median age was 9.1 years, with all of whom were female. The most common clinical symptoms were upper abdominal mass (90%), abdominal pain (80%), and nausea and vomiting (50%). Complications occurred in six cases (60%), including small bowel obstruction (20%), severe gastric dilatation (10%), intestinal perforation (10%), choledochodilation (10%), acute pancreatitis with cholecystitis (10%). Preoperative ultrasonography suggested low-echoic foreign bodies continuing to the jejunum or ileocecal region in five cases (50%). Preoperative gastroscopy attempted in four cases (40%) to remove the foreign bodies, all of which failed. All patients underwent surgical treatment, with nine cases undergoing gastric incision foreign body removal, and one case undergoing gastric incision foreign body removal combined with intestinal perforation repair. All patients recovered well. No recurrence was observed during follow-up. CONCLUSION: The accuracy of ultrasound diagnosis in identifying Rapunzel syndrome is high; however, it may lead to misdiagnosis if not complemented with the patient's medical history. Endoscopic presents a heightened treatment risk and a reduced success rate. The condition commonly presents with severe complications, thus making laparotomy a safe and effective option for intervention.

Currently, adeno-associated virus (AAV) is one of the primary gene delivery vectors in gene therapy, facilitating long-term in vivo gene expression. Despite being imperative, it is incredibly challenging to precisely assess AAV particle distribution according to the sedimentation coefficient and identify impurities related to capsid structures. This study performed the systematic methodological validation of quantifying the AAV empty and full capsid ratio. This includes specificity, accuracy, precision, linearity, and parameter variables involving the sedimentation velocity analytical ultracentrifugation (SV-AUC) method. Specifically, SV-AUC differentiated among the empty, partial, full, and High Sedimentation Coefficient Substance (HSCS) AAV particles while evaluating their sedimentation heterogeneity. The intermediate precision analysis of HE (high percentage of empty capsid) and HF( high percentage of full capsid) samples revealed that the specific species percentage, such as empty or full, was more significant than 50%. Moreover, the RSD (relative standard deviation) could be within 5%. Even for empty or partial less than 15%, the RSD could be within 10%. The accuracy recovery rates of empty capsid were between 103.9% and 108.7% across three different mixtures. When the measured percentage of specific species was more significant than 14%, the recovery rate was between 77.9% and 106.6%. Linearity analysis revealed an excellent linear correlation between the empty, partial, and full in the HE samples. The AAV samples with as low as 7.4×1011 cp/mL AAV could be accurately quantified with SV-AUC. The parameter variable analyses revealed that variations in cell alignment significantly affected the overall results. Still, the detection wavelength of 235nm slightly influenced the empty, partial, and full percentages. Minor detection wavelength changes showed no impact on the sedimentation coefficient of these species. However, the temperature affected the measured sedimentation coefficient. These results validated the SV-AUC method to quantify AAV. This study provides solutions to AAV empty and full capsid ratio quantification challenges and the subsequent basis for calibrating the AAV empty capsid system suitability substance. Due to the AAV structure and potential variability complexity in detection, we jointly calibrated empty capsid system suitability substance with three laboratories to accurately detect the quantitative AAV empty and full capsid ratio. The empty capsid system suitability substance could be used as an external reference to measure the performance of the instrument. The results could be compared with multiple QC (quality control)laboratories based on the AAV vector and calibration accuracy. This is crucial for AUC to be used for QC release and promote gene therapy research worldwide.

This paper reports a case of Bacteroides fragilis induced spondylitis. Diagnosis was confirmed through blood culture and metagenomic sequencing of pus for pathogen detection. Due to persistent lumbar pain, surgical intervention became imperative, resulting in favorable postoperative outcomes. A detailed patient history revealed a severe episode of oral ulceration two weeks before symptom onset, although a direct link to the infection remained elusive. Leveraging insights from this case, we conducted a comprehensive literature review on B. fragilis spondylitis, elucidating clinical manifestations, diagnostic methodologies, and therapeutic strategies.

Background: To understand the impact of individual preferences for specific dietary items on OA, and to help inform the development of effective and targeted OA prevention and management strategies, we performed a Mendelian randomization analysis between dietary preferences and osteoarthritis. Methods: This study utilized genetic data from the UK Biobank to investigate the association between OA and 21 different common dietary items. Instrumental variables representing European populations were carefully selected based on their genetic significance and linkage disequilibrium. In cases where a dietary item had few relevant genetic markers, a more lenient selection threshold was applied. To prevent bias, the analysis excluded single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) associated with factors such as body mass index (BMI) and cholesterol. Using inverse-variance weighting (IVW) and Mendelian randomization, significant associations were detected between certain dietary items and OA. Results: Using Mendelian randomization to examine the relationship between 21 different dietary items and OA, significant associations were found for coffee, peas, watercress, and cheese, where the first two had a promoting effect and the last two an inhibiting effect on OA. Due to heterogeneity in the test results for cheese, a random IVW representation was used. The results of sensitivity analysis showed no significant heterogeneity or horizontal pleiotropy in the selected SNPS, demonstrating the reliability of Mendelian randomization analysis. Conclusion: This study identified coffee, peas, watercress, and cheese as food items that may have significant dietary effects on osteoarthritis. This information may be useful to consider in the development of OA management strategies.

BACKGROUND: Currently, automatic esophagus segmentation remains a challenging task due to its small size, low contrast, and large shape variation. We aimed to improve the performance of esophagus segmentation in deep learning by applying a strategy that involves locating the object first and then performing the segmentation task. METHODS: A total of 100 cases with thoracic computed tomography scans from two publicly available datasets were used in this study. A modified CenterNet, an object location network, was employed to locate the center of the esophagus for each slice. Subsequently, the 3D U-net and 2D U-net_coarse models were trained to segment the esophagus based on the predicted object center. A 2D U-net_fine model was trained based on the updated object center according to the 3D U-net model. The dice similarity coefficient and the 95% Hausdorff distance were used as quantitative evaluation indexes for the delineation performance. The characteristics of the automatically delineated esophageal contours by the 2D U-net and 3D U-net models were summarized. Additionally, the impact of the accuracy of object localization on the delineation performance was analyzed. Finally, the delineation performance in different segments of the esophagus was also summarized. RESULTS: The mean dice coefficient of the 3D U-net, 2D U-net_coarse, and 2D U-net_fine models were 0.77, 0.81, and 0.82, respectively. The 95% Hausdorff distance for the above models was 6.55, 3.57, and 3.76, respectively. Compared with the 2D U-net, the 3D U-net has a lower incidence of delineating wrong objects and a higher incidence of missing objects. After using the fine object center, the average dice coefficient was improved by 5.5% in the cases with a dice coefficient less than 0.75, while that value was only 0.3% in the cases with a dice coefficient greater than 0.75. The dice coefficients were lower for the esophagus between the orifice of the inferior and the pulmonary bifurcation compared with the other regions. CONCLUSION: The 3D U-net model tended to delineate fewer incorrect objects but also miss more objects. Two-stage strategy with accurate object location could enhance the robustness of the segmentation model and significantly improve the esophageal delineation performance, especially for cases with poor delineation results.

Compositions of island arc and back-arc basin basalts are often used to trace the recycling of subducted materials. However, the contribution of subducted components to the mantle source during initial arc rifting before back-arc basin spreading is not yet well constrained. The northernmost Mariana arc is ideal for studying this because the transition from rifting to back-arc spreading is happening here. Here we report major and trace element and Pb isotopic compositions of olivine-hosted melt inclusions from lavas erupted during initial rifting at 24°N (NSP-24) and compare them with those in active arc front at 21°N and mature back-arc basin at 18°N. NSP-24 high-K melt inclusions have highly radiogenic Pb compositions and are close to those of the HIMU end-member, suggesting the presence of this component in the magma source. The HIMU-like component may be stored in the over-riding plate and released into arc magma with rifting. HIMU-type seamounts may be subducted elsewhere beneath the Mariana arc, but obvious HIMU-type components appear only in the initial stages of arc rifting due to the low melting degree and being consumed during the process of back-arc spreading.

Bases can promote keto-enol tautomerism, a prevalent form of prototropic tautomerism, and facilitate the ring opening of anhydride ring structures. The intrinsic chemical distinctions between these processes provide an opportunity to modulate these seemingly parallel reactions. However, this potential remains largely unexplored. In this work, we report homophthalic anhydride, the first molecule exhibiting simultaneous halochromism, turn-on fluorescence (halofluorochromism), and subsequent self-destruction. Through comprehensive spectroscopic analysis and theoretical calculations, we unravel the mechanisms underlying these phenomena, revealing that the pivotal roles of the base's basicity and nucleophilicity specifically allow us to achieve controlled durations of color change and turn-on fluorescence. Capitalizing on these intriguing properties, we develop a highly dynamic CMY (cyan-magenta-yellow) palette ideal for entity encryption and anti-counterfeiting applications. Our work reshapes the understanding of the relationship between the basicity and nucleophilicity of bases, enriching the comprehension of keto-enol tautomerism and homophthalic anhydride chemistry, and unveils a spectrum of potential applications.
