ABSTRACT
Objetivo: Comunicamos un caso de malacoplaquia de vesícula biliar. Lo excepcional y las dificultades de diagnóstico diferencial histopatológico que plantea justifican su conocimiento. Material: Nuestra paciente fue intervenida quirúrgicamente por la sospecha clínica de tratarse de un cáncer de vesícula biliar. Resultado: El estudio histopatológico de la pieza fue la clave del diagnóstico, de esta rara localización. Conclusiones: El diagnóstico de malacoplaquia de vesícula biliar es esencialmente histopatológico y depende del conocimiento del patólogo para identificar los típicos cuerpos de Michaelis Gutmann. Esta enfermedad es importante para todas las especialidades especialmente para cirujanos, gastroenterólogos y patólogos (AU)
Objective: To report on a case of gallbladder malacoplakia whose difficulties for differential histopathologic diagnosis and rarity justify disclosure. Material: A female patient who underwent surgery under clinical suspicion of gallbladder cancer. Result: The histopathologic study proved pivotal for the diagnosis, given the rarity of the localization of the disease. Conclusions: Malacoplakia is to be diagnosed basically through histopathologic, as it all depends on the pathologist's expertise to identify the typical Michaelis Gutmann bodies; Malacoplakia is such a rare desease that all specialists, and mainly surgeons, gastroenterologists and pathologists should be acquainted with it (AU)
