It appears in rheumatology diseases with relative frequency, especially systemic lupus erythematosus. The first manifestation of this illness may be organ damage, depression rarely being the first manifestation. We present the case of a patient with reactive depressive disorder due to work stress. During successive scheduled visits, it was observed that this formed a part of a clinical picture classified by ACR as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)
