ABSTRACT

Beer is a popular beverage consumed globally, and studies have emphasized the benefits of moderate consumption as well as its sensory effects on consumers. Color is a crucial sensory attribute, being the first aspect a consumer notices when assessing a beer's quality. This review seeks to offer detailed insights into how brewing methods, raw materials, and the chemical diversity of beer influence the production of beer color. The chemical mechanisms responsible for color development and how consumers and color systems perceive the color of beer were assessed. A systematic review following the PRISMA methodology, coupled with a bibliometric analysis, was performed using (Rayyan 2022) and (VOSviewer 1.6.20) software to assess and evaluate the scientific research retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection. The findings highlight the significant roles of malt types, heat brewing processes, control of chemical parameters, and innovative brewing techniques in conventional beer color production. Novel chromophores like perlolyrine, pyrrolothiazolate, and furpenthiazinate are thought to affect Pilsen-style beers, along with melanoidins, Strecker aldehydes, and 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) in conventional beers. In craft beers, such as fruit- or herb-based beers, flavonoids like anthocyanins, along with other natural pigments and synthetic colorants, are identified as the primary sources of color. However, studies related to the influence of chromophores like perlolyrine, pyrrolothiazolate, and furpenthiazinate on beer color are scarce, and emerging additives, such as pigments from microorganisms, spices, exotic herbs, and leaves of plants, on craft beer offer insights for future research.

Background: Schizophrenia is a chronic mental illness that affects millions of individuals worldwide. The etiological origin of schizophrenia is heterogeneous, but it has been shown to be associated with dysfunction in serotonin activity, serotonin receptors, and serotonin metabolism in the brain. Bibliometric analysis is a tool used to scrutinise and analyse research activities and evidence in a specific research area. No existing bibliometric analyses have considered both serotonin and schizophrenia. Methods: We conducted a bibliometric analysis including 12,027 studies related to the schizophrenia-serotonin link published from the inception of the study to 2023 and available in the Scopus database. We used VOSviewer software to identify global trends, analyse the author and editors keywords, the most cited articles and author, as well as the most productive institutes and journals publishing research on schizophrenia-serotonin link. Results: Most publications related to the link between schizophrenia and serotonin are focused on adult humans and examine topics such as antipsychotic agents, depression, and serotonin uptake inhibitors. The Journal of Clinical Psychiatry has published the most papers on the schizophrenia-serotonin relationship. Among nations, the United States is the leader in publications. King's College London is the institution with the highest number of publications, and H. Y. Meltzer is the most influential author. Growing trends in schizophrenia-serotonin research are personalised medicine, alternative medicine, transcranial magnetic stimulation, artificial intelligence, nervous system inflammation, brain-gut axis, and the gut microbiome. Conclusion: Since 1950, there have been several fluctuations in the number of published studies related to schizophrenia and serotonin. We believe that the development of novel medications and treatments for schizophrenia will be increased in the future, as well as research into genetic risks, psychological factors, and cranial neuroimaging components. Future schizophrenia and serotonin research is likely to focus on personalised medicine, alternative therapies, novel pathogenesis of schizophrenia, and the use of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.

BACKGROUND: Cancer stem cells (CSCs) represent a potential mechanism contributing to tumorigenesis, metastasis, recurrence, and drug resistance. The objective of this study is to investigate the status quo and advancements in CSC research utilizing bibliometric analysis. METHODS: Publications related to CSCs from 2010 to 2022 were collected from the Web of Science Core Collection database. Various analytical tools including CiteSpace, VOSviewer, Scimago Graphica, and GraphPad Prism were used to visualize aspects such as co-authorship, co-occurrence, and co-citation within CSC research to provide an objective depiction of the contemporary status and developmental trajectory of the CSC field. RESULTS: A total of 22,116 publications were included from 1942 journals written by 95,992 authors. Notably, China emerged as the country with the highest number of publications, whereas the United States exerted the most significant influence within the field. MD Anderson Cancer Center emerged as the institution making the most comprehensive contributions. Wicha M.S. emerged as the most prolific and influential researcher. Among journals, Cancers emerged as a focal point for CSC research, consistently publishing a wealth of high-quality papers. Furthermore, it was observed that most journals tended to approach CSC research from molecular, biological, and immunological perspectives. The research into CSCs encompassed a broad array of topics, including isolation and enrichment techniques, biomarkers, biological characteristics, cancer therapy strategies, and underlying biological regulatory mechanisms. Notably, exploration of the tumor microenvironment and extracellular vesicles emerged as burgeoning research frontiers for CSCs. CONCLUSION: The research on CSCs has garnered growing interest. A trend toward multidisciplinary homogeneity is emerging within the realm of CSCs. Further investigation could potentially center on the patients of extracellular vesicles and the tumor microenvironment in relation to CSCs.

ABSTRACT

The number of publications related to the implementation of nanotechnology in the construction industry, and specifically to the application of nanosilica (SiO2), has had a constant increase in recent years. Based on this, in the present work, an analysis was carried out using bibliometric techniques, with the aim at characterizing the development of specialized literature and identifying the largest areas of growth in the field, maintaining hydrophobic nanosilica as the research guideline. This analysis acquired information from the Scopus and Web of Science (WoS) databases to compare bibliometric indicators of the publications. It should be noted that, even though bibliometric analysis is useful to identify the study areas of greatest interest, to complement this work, the implementation of a method that helped in the research process to obtain the most important bibliography was required. This study implemented Methodi Ordinatio, which helped to take a new direction. Therefore, based on this method, a list of articles cataloged and ranked is obtained, which is the basis for integrating the final bibliographic portfolio. •The study applies the Methodi Ordinatio to obtain a portfolio of the most relevant articles to guide the researchers' work.•Insightful information can be obtained using VOSviewer to analyze and visualize metadata of the bibliographic portfolio.•The study demonstrates how the alpha value in the InOrdinatio formula modifies the resulting portfolio.

BACKGROUND: Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic, multisystem autoimmune disorder. When SLE occurs in individuals under the age of 18, it is referred to as childhood-onset SLE (cSLE). Currently, there is a dearth of bibliometric research pertaining to cSLE. METHOD: Relevant studies in the field of cSLE from 2000 to 2022 were screened from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). CiteSpace and VOSviewer software were used to visualize the annual publications, countries, institutions, authors, journals, keywords, and references, after which the authors conducted the scientific analysis. RESULTS: A total of 2857 articles were included in this study, and the number of articles published in the past 20 years showed an overall upwards trend. The most prolific countries are the United States, China, and Brazil; however, the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom are clearly superior in terms of literary influence, and there is more cooperation between them and their institutions. LUPUS (n = 389) contributed the most to the variance. Brunner, HI's contribution in the field of cSLE is outstanding. The words related to 'lupus nephritis' and 'antibodies' are important words reflected in the keyword network diagram. The keywords included 'evidence-based recommendation', 'validation', 'diagnosis' and 'adult' from 2019, and 'continuous bursts' to the present. CONCLUSION: This study examined the research status of cSLE patients, discussed and analysed the research hotspots and trends in this field, and provided a reference for further research in this field to promote the development of cSLE research.

ABSTRACT

Este artículo presenta una visión general relacionada con las publicaciones científicas sobre insectos para consumo humano a través de un análisis bibliométrico utilizando datos extraídos de la base de datos Web of Science en un período de tiempo comprendido entre 1990 y 2022 cubriendo más de 30 años de producción científica. Los resultados se presentan en forma de tablas, gráficos y diagramas con diferentes tipos de mapeo obtenidos mediante el uso de paquetes específicos para el análisis de las relaciones bibliométricas como VoS Viewer y el paquete de R Bibliometrix. De acuerdo con la clasificación de las áreas de conocimiento en WoS, la mayoría de los artículos se encuentran principalmente en los segmentos de tecnología de los alimentos, la entomología, la agricultura multidisciplinar con trabajos que van desde los aspectos ambientales, la composición química, y la percepción sensorial, entre otros. Los países con mayor influencia en el tema son Italia, EE.UU. y Corea del Sur con el mayor número de publicaciones en el área. Por otro lado, los autores con mayores métricas son Kinyuru, JN (Kenia), Choi, YS, (Corea del Sur) y Aquilanti, L, (Italia). Las revistas con mayor productividad en insectos comestibles son Journal of insects as food and feed, Foods e Insects con un número de publicaciones de 217, 107 y 61 respectivamente. Finalmente, las conclusiones de este trabajo permiten establecer rutas a seguir para los investigadores en el campo de los insectos comestibles para la alimentación humana como por ejemplo que documentos son más importantes, donde publicar y en que países e instituciones el tema se encuentra mas desarrollado.


This article presents an overview of scientific publications on insects for human consumption through a bibliometric analysis using data extracted from the Web of Science database from 1990 to 2022, covering more than 30 years of scientific production. The results are presented in tables, graphs, and diagrams with different types of mapping obtained by using specific packages to analyze bibliometric relationships, such as VOSviewer and the R-package Bibliometrics. According to the classification of areas of knowledge in WoS, most articles are mainly in food science technology, entomology, and multidisciplinary agriculture, with works ranging from environmental aspects, chemical composition, and sensory perception, among others. The countries with the most significant influence on the subject are Italy, the USA, and South Korea, with the highest number of publications in the area. On the other hand, the authors with the highest metrics are J.N. Kinyuru (Kenya), Y.S. Choi (South Korea), and L. Aquilanti (Italy). The journals with the highest productivity in edible insects are the Journal of Insects as Food and Feed, Foods, and Insects, with several publications of 217, 107, and 61, respectively. Finally, the conclusions of this work allow establishing routes to follow for researchers in the field of edible insects, such as which papers are most important, where to publish and in which countries and institutions the topic is most developed.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Candida auris is an emerging multidrug-resistant fungal pathogen associated with nosocomial infections and hospital outbreaks worldwide, presenting a serious global health threat. There has been a rapid emergence of scientific research publications focusing on therapeutic compounds, diagnostic techniques, control strategies, prevention, and understanding the epidemiology related to C. auris. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to provide the most up-to-date comprehensive and integrated examination of C. auris research subject and demonstrate that C. auris is indeed a topic of increasing interest. METHODS: The search query "candida-auris" was used as a topic term to find and retrieve relevant data published between 2009 and 15 June 2023, from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database. In this work, the bibliometric analysis and network visualization were conducted using VOSviewer software, and Biblioshiny interface accessible through the Bibliometrix R-package on RStudio software. RESULTS: The yearly growth rate percentage (37.91%), along with the strong positive correlations between publications and citations (r = 0.981; p < 0.001), suggests heightened scholarly engagement in this topic. The USA, India, China, and the UK have emerged as pivotal contributors, with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the USA being the most productive institution. Current research hotspots in this field mainly focused on identifying and limiting transmission of the clonal strains, epidemiology, antifungal resistance, and in vitro antifungal susceptibility testing. CONCLUSION: This detailed bibliometric analysis in C. auris topic shows that this fungal pathogen has garnered growing attention and attracted progressively more scholars. This paper will help researchers to find without difficulty the relevant articles, research hotspots, influential authors, institutions, and countries related to the topic.

ABSTRACT

The COVID-19-19 pandemic's global impact has accelerated the need for effective vaccines, challenging traditional, time-consuming, and costly vaccinology methods. Immunoinformatics emerges as a promising alternative to expedite vaccine development, thus this study aims to provide a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of its application in formulating SARS-CoV-2 vaccine prototypes. Employing VOSviewer software and data from the Web of Science database, this study conducted a bibliometric analysis. Key metrics included the global distribution of scientific publications, the most productive countries and institutions, influential authors, co-citation and co-authorship networks, and prevalent keywords in immunoinformatics research related to SARS-CoV-2 vaccines. The analysis encompassed 138 scholarly articles, with India emerging as a pivotal contributor, particularly through notable contributions from Adamas and Fakir Mohan universities. The most cited article, authored by Bhattacharya, received 226 citations, while Doytchinova was a prominent cited source, referenced in 96 of the 138 analyzed documents. The study observed substantial collaborative efforts among authors from 45 nations, with 85% of the research concentrated in just six countries. Pakistan demonstrated the highest level of international collaboration, contributing to 15/20 collaborative publications. Keywords such as 'SARS-CoV-2', 'immunoinformatics', and 'prediction' were frequently encountered across most of these documents. This bibliometric analysis elucidates the primary research trends in the field and delineates the global scope and distribution of immunoinformatics studies in the realm of SARS-CoV-2 vaccine development. These findings offer a vital overview of the current landscape, guiding future research directions and potential collaborative efforts in the pursuit of effective COVID-19 vaccines.


El impacto global de la pandemia de COVID-19 ha acelerado la necesidad de vacunas efectivas, lo que ha desafiado los métodos tradicionales de vacunología que son costosos y consumen mucho tiempo. La inmunoinformática surge como una alternativa prometedora para acelerar el desarrollo de vacunas. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo proporcionar un análisis bibliométrico exhaustivo de su aplicación en la formulación de prototipos de vacunas contra el SARS-CoV-2. Utilizando el software VOSviewer y datos de la base de datos Web of Science, se realizó un análisis bibliométrico. Las métricas clave incluyeron: la distribución global de publicaciones científicas, los países e instituciones más productivos, autores influyentes, redes de cocitación y coautoría y palabras clave prevalentes en la investigación de inmunoinformática relacionada con las vacunas contra el SARS-CoV-2. El análisis abarcó 138 artículos académicos; la India emergió como un contribuyente principal, particularmente a través de contribuciones notables de las universidades Adamas y Fakir Mohan. El artículo más citado fue el de Bhattacharya, que recibió 226 citas; mientras que Doytchinova fue una fuente citada prominente, referenciada en 96 de los 138 documentos analizados. El estudio observó esfuerzos colaborativos sustanciales entre autores de 45 naciones con el 85 % de la investigación concentrada en seis países. Pakistán demostró el nivel más alto de colaboración internacional, al contribuir con 15 de los 20 artículos colaborativos. Ibogaine is a natural psychoactive drug that has been investigated for its potential role in the treatment of substance use disorders since the mid-1960s. To evaluate the interest in ibogaine's use as a therapeutic agent, we performed a scientometric analysis covering the last three decades (1993-2002, 2003-2012, and 2013-2022). A complementary analysis was performed to select and describe published clinical trials and meta-analyses. A total of 1523 references were found. Linear growth of publications in the first and third decades were identified, and the average number of publications from 1993 to 2002 was lower than that in the other two decades. Researchers from five continents were identified. Globally, academic research centers in the United States and Canada were the most productive. Cocaine, tobacco, morphine, and alcohol prevailed as major keywords in the first two decades and opioids and psychedelics were included in the third decade. A few key authors were the most co-referenced. One preclinical meta-analysis and no meta-analysis in humans were found. Research trends for ibogaine are widespread, growing, and consonant with current attentiveness in drug abuse. Our findings support the pressing need for rigorous clinical research on ibogaine to evaluate its efficacy and safety.

Somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) is a reproductive biotechnology with great potential in the reproduction of different species of zootechnical interest, including sheep. This study aimed to carry out a bibliometric analysis of scientific papers published on the application of SCNT in sheep reproduction during the period 1997-2023. The search involved the Science Citation Index Expanded and Social Sciences Citation Index databases of the main collection of the Web of Sciences with different descriptors. A total of 124 scientific papers were analyzed for different bibliometric indicators using the VOSviewer software. Since 2001, the number of SCNT-related papers that have been published concerning sheep reproduction has increased and it has fluctuated in ensuing years. The main authors, research groups, institutions, countries, papers, and journals with the highest number of papers related to the application of SCNT in sheep reproduction were identified, as well as the topics that address the research papers according to the terms: somatic cell, embryo, oocyte, gene expression, SCNT, and sheep.

Scientific mapping using bibliometric data network analysis was applied to analyze research works related to lipases and their industrial applications, evaluating the current state of research, challenges, and opportunities in the use of these biocatalysts, based on the evaluation of a large number of publications on the topic, allowing a comprehensive systematic data analysis, which had not yet been conducted in relation to studies specifically covering lipases and their industrial applications. Thus, studies involving lipase enzymes published from 2018 to 2022 were accessed from the Web of Science database. The extracted records result in the analysis of terms of bibliographic compatibility among the articles, co-occurrence of keywords, and co-citation of journals using the VOSviewer algorithm in the construction of bibliometric maps. This systematic review analysis of 357 documents, including original and review articles, revealed studies inspired by lipase enzymes in the research period, showing that the development of research, together with different areas of knowledge, presents good results related to the applications of lipases, due to information synchronization. Furthermore, this review showed the main challenges in lipase applications regarding increased production and operational stability; establishing well-defined evaluation criteria, such as cultivation conditions, activity, biocatalyst stability, type of support and reactor; thermodynamic studies; reuse cycles; and it can assist in defining goals for the development of successful large-scale applications, showing several points for improvement of future studies on lipase enzymes.

Recent advances in poultry practice have produced new tools enabling the poultry industry to increase productivity. Aiming at increasing production quality, varying protocols of in ovo injection facilitate the introduction of exogenous substances into the egg to complement the nutrients that support embryonic development up to hatching, which are already available in the internal and external compartments. Due to embryonic sensitivity, adding any substance into the egg can be either advantageous or disadvantageous for embryonic survival and can influence hatch rates. Thus, understanding the relationship between poultry practices and production rates is the first step towards successful commercial application. This review aims to assess the influence on hatch rates of injecting different substances in ovo, including effects on embryo and chick health parameters where these are reported. Bibliographic mappings of co-authorship of citations, co-occurrence of keywords, and bibliographic coupling based on the in ovo injection technique and hatchability parameters were also performed. Using the Scopus database, 242 papers were retrieved, reviewed, and submitted for bibliographic mapping using the VOSviewer® software. This review provides a broad overview of just over 38 years' research on the subject, revealing that studies have significantly increased and peaked in 2020, being produced primarily by US researchers and published primarily in the journal Poultry Science. It also reveals that despite negative reports relating to some substances in the embryo, in ovo delivery of substances may possibly change the poultry industry for the better in terms of production rates (hatchability) and/or poultry health.

Background: COVID-19 has a significant impact on dental medicine. The present study aims to overview dental-related research on COVID-19 by visual mapping method. Methods: We analyzed the publications in the "Dentistry Oral Surgery Medicine" category in the Web of Science core collection. On June 10, 2022, we conducted an advanced search using the items TS = ("Novel coronavirus 2019" or "COVID 19" or "Coronavirus disease 2019" or "2019-nCOV" or "SARS-CoV-2" or "coronavirus-2") and WC = ("Dentistry Oral Surgery medicine") to screen publications in the dental field that focus on COVID-19 or SARS-CoV-2. The contributions of authors, journals, institutions, and countries were described using Microsoft Excel 2010 and VOSviewer. The keywords co-occurring analysis and references analysis were visualized using VOSviewer and CiteSpace. Results: A total of 1,732 papers were identified between 2020 and 2022. The United States, the United Kingdom, and Brazil were three major contributors to this field. Univ São Paulo (Brazil) ranked first with 55 publications in this field. Martelli Junior, Hercilio from Universidade Jose do Rosario Vellano (Brazil) was the most prolific author with 19 publications. Oral Diseases and British Dental Journal were the two most productive journals. The central topics were dental practice and infection control, oral manifestation related to COVID-19, dental education and online learning, teledentistry, and mental health problems. Conclusion: The growth rate of publications regarding dental research on COVID-19 has risen sharply. Research topics shifted from "Dental practice and infection control, oral manifestation related to COVID-19" in 2020 to "Dental education and online learning, teledentistry, mental health problems," which are three important research topics for the future.

ABSTRACT

Se tuvo como objetivo identificar la estructura intelectual de la producción científica sobre la COVID-19 en el área de Salud Pública, Ambiental y Ocupacional. Se usó el análisis de acoplamiento bibliográfico y de cocitación de autores a partir de la producción científica en Web of Science Core Collection en el periodo diciembre 2019 a agosto 2020. Las unidades de análisis fueron los autores citantes y los autores citados. Un total de 1 065 registros fueron recuperados bajo los criterios de búsqueda establecidos. El análisis de acoplamiento bibliográfico de autores identificó 12 clústeres, que representaron a los 106 autores activos más importantes que investigaron la pandemia desde distintas perspectivas y formaron diversos frentes de investigación. Mediante el análisis de cocitación se obtuvieron 96 autores citados más influyentes representados en cinco clústeres. Se identificó a la Organización Mundial de la Salud y al Centro para el Control y la Prevención de Enfermedades de los Estados Unidos de América como referencias muy influyentes, así como a autores de la República Popular China. En conclusión, se logró identificar la estructura intelectual de la producción científica sobre COVID-19 en el área de Salud Pública, Ambiental y Ocupacional con el uso de los métodos bibliométricos de análisis de acoplamiento bibliográfico y de cocitación de autores(AU)


The aim was to identify the intellectual structure of the scientific production on COVID-19 in the area of Public, Environmental and Occupational Health. Author bibliographic-coupling analysis and author cocitation analysis were used from the scientific production in Web of Science Core Collection in the period December 2019 to August 2020. The units of analysis were the citing authors and cited authors. A total of 1065 records were retrieved under the established search criteria. The Author bibliographic-coupling analysis identified 12 clusters representing 106 major active authors who investigated the pandemic from different perspectives forming diverse research fronts. The author cocitation analysis obtained 96 most influential cited authors represented in five clusters. The WHO and CDC-USA were identified as very influential references, as well as authors from the People's Republic of China. In conclusion, it was possible to identify the intellectual structure of scientific production on COVID-19 in the area of Public, Environmental and Occupational Health with the use of bibliometric methods of author bibliographic-coupling and author cocitation analysis(AU)

ABSTRACT

Acute lung injury (ALI) is an intractable disorder associated with macrophages. This bibliometric analysis was applied to identify the characteristics of global scientific output, the hotspots, and frontiers about macrophages in ALI over the past 10 years. We retrieved publications published from 2011 to 2020 and their recorded information from Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-expanded) of Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). Bibliometrix package was used to analyze bibliometric indicators, and the VOSviewer was used to visualize the trend and hotspots of researches on macrophages in ALI. Altogether, 2,632 original articles were reviewed, and the results showed that the annual number of publications (Np) concerning the role of macrophages in ALI kept increasing over the past 10 years. China produced the most papers, the number of citations (Nc) and H-index of the USA ranked first. Shanghai Jiaotong University and INT IMMUNOPHARMACOL were the most prolific affiliation and journal, respectively. Papers published by Matute-Bello G in 2011 had the highest local citation score (LCS). Recently, the keywords "NLRP3" and "extracellular vesicles" appeared most frequently. Besides, researches on COVID-19-induced ALI related to macrophages seemed to be the hotspot recently. This bibliometric study revealed that publications related to macrophages in ALI tend to increase continuously. China was a big producer and the USA was an influential country in this field. Most studies were mainly centered on basic researches in the past decade, and pathways associated with the regulatory role of macrophages in inhibiting and attenuating ALI have become the focus of attention in more recent studies. What is more, our bibliometric analysis showed that macrophages play an important role in COVID-19-induced ALI and may be a target for the treatment of COVID-19.

ABSTRACT

This work aims to provide the first holistic and deep bibliometric mapping and analysis of the management of plastic waste. Data from the last five years were obtained from a Scopus database search. Relevant information on scientific production, contributions by country and institutions, sources, reference authors, and topic trends were obtained, being analysed using the VOSviewer and Bibliometrix R-package software programs. The results clearly have shown a significant increase in the number of publications over the years, depicting the great influence of the People's Republic of China, since the most relevant authors, publications, and institutes are Chinese. Regarding the topic trends, there is a massive concern about plastic pollution, especially related to plastic in water bodies (mainly microplastics), and the socio-environmental problems which plastic may cause/aggravate, with recycling and the circular economy emerging as possible solutions.

BACKGROUND: Because of various clinical manifestations and complicated courses, temporomandibular disorders (TMDs) are difficult to treat. Current knowledge about this disease remains insufficient for precise treatment after diagnosis. OBJECTIVES: The objective of this study is to obtain and map the overall literature trends and most cited keywords in TMDs research. METHODS: Many indicators, including annual number of publications, country distribution, global cooperations, author contributions, original journals, cited references and keywords, were calculated and evaluated using VOSviewer v.1.6.13, which visualised many results, from the WoSCC database. RESULTS: A total of 3121 papers on TMDs research were retrieved from 2010 to 2019. The United States produced the most articles published, but the most productive institution was the University of Sao Paulo (Brazil). Researchers and institutions conducting TMDs research have shown a very widespread and close connection. TMDs have been studied worldwide by many research centres. Professor Svensson P was the most published researcher in TMDs research and the Journal of Oral Rehabilitation published the most TMDs research articles. The top cited references mainly presented diagnostic criteria of TMDs. The most cited keywords formed clusters: (a) Anatomical factor of TMDs, (b) Symptoms of TMDs and (c) RDC/TMD, the risk factors, biopsychosocial factors and epidemiology of TMDs. CONCLUSIONS: The research results provide very valuable data for a thorough understanding of the research status of TMDs and demonstrated international cooperation.

ABSTRACT

Climate change is causing extensive alterations to ecosystems globally, with some more vulnerable than others. Alpine ecosystems, characterised by low-temperatures and cryophilic vegetation, provide ecosystems services for billions of people but are considered among the most susceptible to climate change. Therefore, it is timely to review research on climate change on alpine vegetation including assessing trends, topics, themes and gaps. Using a multicomponent bibliometric approach, we extracted bibliometric metadata from 3143 publications identified by searching titles, keywords and abstracts for research on 'climate change' and 'alpine vegetation' from Scopus and Web of Science. While primarily focusing on 'alpine vegetation', some literature that also assessed vegetation below the treeline was captured. There has been an exponential increase in research over 50 years, greater engagement and diversification in who does research, and where it is published and conducted, with increasing focus beyond Europe, particularly in China. Content analysis of titles, keywords and abstracts revealed that most of the research has focused on alpine grasslands but there have been relatively few publications that examine specialist vegetation communities such as snowbeds, subnival vegetation and fellfields. Important themes emerged from analysis of keywords, including treelines and vegetation dynamics, biodiversity, the Tibetan Plateau as well as grasslands and meadows. Traditional ecological monitoring techniques were important early on, but remote sensing has become the primary method for assessment. A key book on alpine plants, the IPCC reports and a few papers in leading journals underpin much of the research. Overall, research on this topic is increasing, with new methods and directions but thematic and geographical gaps remain particularly for research on extreme climatic events, and research in South America, in part due to limited capacity for research on these rare but valuable ecosystems.

ABSTRACT

The Mental Model concept has evolved from being a representation of reality to which we apply formal logic, to a type of logic with which we make decisions, learn, and adapt. This work uses bibliometric indicators to describe research on Mental Models from 1997 to 2017. The results show progressive growth since the late 1990s and a stationary trend starting in 2010. The existing research is dominated by the fields of individual and organizational psychology as well as education. Since 2007, a corpus of research (works that continue or are based on previous work) has been developed around the themes of memory, cognition, interpretation, and Johnson-Laird's work. In the late 2000s, another possible corpus emerged around team work. It is recommended to develop similar research in specific areas.
