RESUMO

The changes in metabolism of the amine acids, enzymes, electrolytes, fat acids (FA) in skeletal muscles of anterior and posterior extremities of rats in significant defects of peripheral nerve and its autoplasty were studied in experimental investigation. Metabolic changes in skeletal muscles are accompanied by significant intensity of proteolysis, lowering of the enzymes activity, energetic metabolism and in a less extent of the electrolytes balance and the FA metabolism. After autoplasty of big defects in the traumatized nerve the proteins' synthesis and restoration of activity of lactate dehydrogenase and creatine phosphokinase constitute the markers of muscular tissue restoration. Surgical restoration of the nerve is accompanied by a protein synthesis activation in muscles, but normalization of the enzyme systems indices, the lipids metabolism and the electrolytes balance was not observed. Metabolic dysbalance needs a certain pharmacological correction and prevention of a progress of pathological process in skeletal muscles.

RESUMO

Results of investigations on impact of radial shock-wave therapy of low frequency on metabolism of the main protein of the bone tissue (collagen) as well as on the enzymes activity, taking part in a catabolic phase of the protein metabolism, were studied. Changes in content of glycosaminoglycans under impact of the therapy in experimental animals were studied.

RESUMO

Carried out biochemical studies of blood serum (collagenase activity, glycosamineglicans and hydroxyproline fractions) of 72 patients with hip idiopathic osteoarthrosis and 30 patients with dysplastic osteoarthrosis of the iv-th stage in.accordance with J. H. Kellgren and J. S. Lavrence depending on the form of pathologic process progression. It has been proved that both with idiopathic and dysplastic coxartrosis metabolism of basic protein of osteochonrous tissue was broken both in catabolic and in synthetic phase of this process. The most deep changes 1 of biochemical values (collagenase, free and proteinbinded hydroxyprolines, the content of glycosamines) have been observed with rapid form of course progression of idiopathic and dysplastic coxarthrosis. Definite appropriateness promotesin.patients better understanding of coxarthrosis pathogenese, development of diagnostic and medical measures for patients with this severe orthopedic pathology.

RESUMO

The article presents the results of clinical, laboratory, CT and MRT examination and treatment of patients with otogenic intracranial complications (OIC) hospitalized to ENT clinics for the last 10 years. The statistics show that the number of OIC patients tends to decrease for the last 40 years. This may be explained by perfection of specialized ENT service in backcountry rural districts. It is emphasized that use of antibiotics and other anti-inflammatory drugs before hospitalization changes a clinical OIC picture and complicates early diagnosis especially the diagnosis of cerebral and cerebellar abscesses.

RESUMO

Literature data and authors' own observation on the role of albumin in realization of curative effect of electric current are summarized in the article. Electric current action on albumin leads to physical and chemical changes (conformational ones, membrane process are also involved, development of free forms of biologically active substances) and biochemical changes (enzymes activity, lipid peroxidation). It furthers the normalization of function of body organs and systems. Curative effect of electric current depends on the dose, physical characteristic, functional specialization of tissues and peculiarities of a pathological process. Protein component is primary one in treatment effect of electric currents and should be further studied using physical, physical and chemical and biochemical techniques.

RESUMO

A total of 170 patients aged 2.5 to 60 years have received treatment for otogenic meningitis caused by acute (n=37, 21.2%) or chronic otitis media (n=137, 78.2%). Otogenic meningitis ran atypically with masked clinical manifestations in 32.2% patients. It is thought justified to repeat an antibiotic injection into the cerebrospinal canal in a severe course of meningitis, especially in combination of meningitis with other forms of intracranial complications. If clinical signs of acute otitis media and meningitis manifested weakly and, therefore, otogenic nature of meningitis is questionable, it is recommended to implement an expectant treatment policy. The absence of noticeable positive shifts in the course of the disease after several days of intensive conservative treatment is an indication for surgical intervention.

RESUMO

The biochemical findings secured in the examination of 55 pediatric patients presenting with a progressing form of scoliosis suggested to us abnormalities of metabolism in the osseous tissue organic base and of the mineral metabolism. Indices capable of reflecting in the most unbiassed fashion the osseous tissue metabolic states include Ca/Cr, Ca/fr OP, Ph/Cr, Ph/fr OP ratios. Collagen and mineral metabolic disturbances result in structural changes in the vertebral osseous tissue organic base that may have an important part in the development of scoliotic disease.

RESUMO

Overall, sixty-seven patients living in different ecological regions were examined to study effects of ecological factors on the catecholamine concentration in biological fluids in patients with chronic posttraumatic osteomyelitis (CPO). The data obtained showed that CPO causes abnormalities of catecholamine metabolism, which get even more aggravated under the influence of an adverse ecological factor, an abnormal radiation impact in particular, this being confirmed by analysis of findings in those patients residing in different ecological regions.
