RESUMO

Imidacloprid as a widely used neonicotinoid insecticide can cause harmful pesticide residue inevitably. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) were innovatively composited to improve the light absorption and degradation performance of Bi2WO6 semiconductor, which expanded the photodegradation application in solving environmental problems. Based on the synergistic effect of Bi2WO6 and NH2-MIL-88B(Fe), a Bi2WO6/NH2-MIL-88B(Fe) (BNM) heterojunction photocatalyst with high-performance of photocatalytic degradation activities was successfully synthesized. The optimized BNM catalyst had a good degradation rate under visible light, which was mainly caused by generation of the active ·OH. Transient photocurrent response and electrochemical impedance tests verified that 1:2 BNM exhibits a highest charge separation and a lowest carrier recombination rate which were favorable to the photocatalytic activity. Cycle experiments show that the composite photocatalyst had good reusability and stability which were very important for potential industry applications.

RESUMO

Zymomonas mobilis, a promising candidate for industrial biofuel production, is capable of nitrogen fixation naturally without hindering ethanol production. However, little is known about the regulation of nitrogen fixation in Z. mobilis. We herein conducted a high throughput analysis of proteome and protein acetylation in Z. mobilis under N2-fixing conditions and established its first acetylome. The upregulated proteins mainly belong to processes of nitrogen fixation, motility, chemotaxis, flagellar assembly, energy production, transportation, and oxidation-reduction. Whereas, downregulated proteins are mainly related to energy-consuming and biosynthetic processes. Our acetylome analyses revealed 197 uniquely acetylated proteins, belonging to major pathways such as nitrogen fixation, central carbon metabolism, ammonia assimilation pathway, protein biosynthesis, and amino acid metabolism. Further, we observed acetylation in glycolytic enzymes of central carbon metabolism, the nitrogenase complex, the master regulator NifA, and the enzyme in GS/GOGAT cycle. These findings suggest that protein acetylation may play an important role in regulating various aspects of N2-metabolism in Z. mobilis. This study provides new knowledge of specific proteins and their associated cellular processes and pathways that may be regulated by protein acetylation in Z. mobilis.

BACKGROUND: The past decade has witnessed an ever-increasing momentum of transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and a subsequent paradigm shift in the contemporary management of severe aortic stenosis (AS). We conducted a multi-centric TAVR registry based on Chinese patients (the China Aortic valve tRanscatheter Replacement registrY [CARRY]) to delineate the clinical characteristics and outcomes of Chinese patients who underwent TAVR and compare the results between different valve types in different Chinese regions. METHODS: CARRY is an all-comer registry of aortic valve disease patients undergoing TAVR across China and was designed as an observational study that retrospectively included all TAVR patients at each participating site. Seven hospitals in China participated in the CARRY, and 1204 patients from April 2012 to November 2020 were included. Categorical variables were compared using the chi-squared test, and continuous variables were analyzed using a t test or analysis of variance (ANOVA) test. The Kaplan-Meier curve was used to estimate the risk of adverse events during follow-up. RESULTS: The mean age of the patients was 73.8 ±â€Š6.5 years and 57.2% were male. The median Society of Thoracic Surgeon-Predicted Risk of Mortality score was 6.0 (3.7-8.9). Regarding the aortic valve, the proportion of bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) was 48.5%. During the hospital stay, the stroke rate was 0.7%, and the incidence of high-degree atrioventricular block indicating permanent pacemaker implantation was 11.0%. The in-hospital all-cause mortality rate was 2.2%. After 1 year, the overall mortality rate was 4.5%. Compared to patients with tricuspid aortic valve (TAV), those with BAV had similar in-hospital complication rates, but a lower incidence of in-hospital mortality (1.4% vs. 3.3%) and 1 year mortality (2.3% vs. 5.8%). CONCLUSIONS: TAVR candidates in China were younger, higher proportion of BAV, and had lower rates of post-procedural complications and mortality than other international all-comer registries. Given the use of early generation valves in the majority of the population, patients with BAV had similar rates of complications, but lower mortality than those with TAV. A Fe3O4/mesoporous graphitized carbon (Fe3O4/m-GC) composite was prepared through a facile calcination method with iron-based metal-organic frameworks (Fe-MOFs) as a sacrificial template. After carbonization, the Fe3O4 nanoparticles were uniformly dispersed in the mesoporous carbon support, resulting in spatial structural stability. The mesoporous carbon support obtained was highly graphitized and exhibited eminent electrical conductivity, which accelerated the electron transfer between the Fe3O4 nanoparticles by Fe(II)/Fe(III) redox cycles and m-GC by C = Csp2/C-Csp3 redox cycles, leading to the excellent peroxidase-mimetic activity of Fe3O4/m-GC. Km values for tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) and H2O2 were 26.8 and 15.8 times lower than that of natural horseradish peroxidase, respectively. Taking advantage of the peroxidase-mimetic activity of Fe3O4/m-GC, a colorimetric assay was fabricated for detecting glucose in the range 0.5 ~ 200 µM, with a limit of detection of 0.24 µM. BACKGROUND: The high-degree atrioventricular block (HAVB) in patients with bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) treated with transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) remains high. The study aims to explore this poorly understood subject of mechanisms and predictors for HAVB in BAV self-expandable TAVI patients. METHODS: We retrospectively included 181 BAV patients for analysis. Using computed tomography data, the curvature of ascending aorta (AAo) was quantified by the angle (AAo angle) between annulus and the cross-section at 35 mm above annulus (where the stent interacts with AAo the most). The valvular anatomy and leaflet calcification were also characterized. RESULTS: The 30-day HAVB rate was 16.0% (median time to HAVB was three days). Type-1 morphology was found in 79 patients (43.6%) (left- and right-coronary cusps fusion comprised 79.7%). Besides implantation below membrane septum, large AAo angle [odds ratio (OR) = 1.08, P = 0.016] and type-1 morphology (OR = 4.97, P = 0.001) were found as the independent predictors for HAVB. Together with baseline right bundle branch block, these predictors showed strong predictability for HAVB with area under the cure of 0.84 (sensitivity = 62.1%, specificity = 92.8%). Bent AAo and calcified raphe had a synergistic effect in facilitating high implantation, though the former is associated with at-risk deployment (device implanted above annulus + prothesis pop-out, versus straight AAo: 9.9% vs. 2.2%, P = 0.031). CONCLUSIONS: AAo curvature and type-1 morphology are novel predictors for HAVB in BAV patients following self-expandable TAVI. For patients with bent AAo or calcified raphe, a progressive approach to implant the device above the lower edge of membrane septum is favored, though should be done cautiously to avoid pop-out.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a potential strategy for many superficial, esophageal, intestinal, and bronchial cancer treatments, but its therapeutic effect is limited by a lack of specificity and the hypoxic tumor environment. It is necessary to develop novel photosensitizers (Ps) with organelles targeting and the ability to generate cytotoxic species under light irradiation without the presence of oxygen. Herein, we designed and synthesized a biocompatible fluorescent Ps CPNBD for lipid droplets (LDs) fluorescence (FL) image-guided PDT. CPNBD showed FL quenching in water but FL was significantly turned on by oil with a remarkable FL enhancement compared to that in aqueous solution. Due to its strong lipophilicity (Clog P of 7.96), CPNBD could specifically stain the LDs of human clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) tumor cells and tissues with good photostability. Meanwhile, CPNBD could efficiently generate cytotoxic reactive oxygen species under low-power white-light irradiation, which could efficiently damage DNA via a PDT process with great tumor suppression ability in vitro and in vivo. Thus, this work provides a novel strategy for designing LD-targeting Ps with efficient image-guided PDT under the tumor hypoxic environment.

We sought to assess the amount and distribution of force on the valve frame after transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) via patient-specific computer simulation. Patients successfully treated with the self-expanding Venus A-Valve and multislice computed tomography (MSCT) pre- and post-TAVR were retrospectively included. Patient-specific finite element models of the aortic root and prosthesis were constructed. The force (in Newton) on the valve frame was derived at every 3 mm from the inflow and at every 22.5° on each level. Twenty patients of whom 10 had bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) were analyzed. The total force on the frame was 74.9 N in median (interquartile range 24.0). The maximal force was observed at level 5 that corresponds with the nadir of the bioprosthetic leaflets and was 9.9 (7.1) N in all patients, 10.3 (6.6) N in BAV and 9.7 (9.2) N for patients with tricuspid aortic valve (TAV). The level of maximal force located higher from the native annulus in BAV and TAV patients (8.8 [4.8] vs. 1.8 [7.4] mm). The area of the valve frame at the level of maximal force decreased from 437.4 (239.7) mm2 at the annulus to 377.6 (114.3) mm2 in BAV, but increased from 397.5 (114.3) mm2 at the annulus to 406.7 (108.9) mm2 in TAV. The maximum force on the bioprosthetic valve frame is located at the plane of the nadir of the bioprosthetic leaflets. It remains to be elucidated whether this may be associated with bioprosthetic frame and leaflet integrity and/or function.

With the development of minimally invasive technologies in the medical field, more and more technologies can replace surgical thoracotomy and relieve the pain of disease via minimally invasive methods. We reported a case of aortic valve stenosis combined with left ventricular outflow track obstruction treated by two minimally invasive techniques, transcatheter aortic valve replacement and transthoracic echocardiography-guided percutaneous intramyocardial septal radiofrequency ablation, and followed up for 2 years.

Most nail gun injuries involve the extremities and result from work-related accidents. Injuries to the brain or thorax are relatively rare, and cases with injuries to both regions are even rarer and often lethal. Initial evaluation, resuscitation, and surgical planning can be challenging for emergency physicians and surgeons. We present the details of a man with multiple nail gun injuries to the brain, lung, and heart following a suicide attempt. The patient presented to the emergency department in shock. After immediate resuscitation, emergent sternotomy, and subsequent craniotomy, he was discharged without significant morbidity. According to the literature, this is the only reported case involving multiple nail gun injuries to the brain, lungs, and heart. The mortality rate of multiple nail gun injuries involving the head and chest is approximately 20%. Rapid evaluation, immediate resuscitation, and appropriate imaging and surgery are crucial for increasing survival and achieving a good prognosis. Emergency sternotomy for cardiac injury is the foremost priority, and the timing of craniotomy depends on the patient's vital sign status and whether brain injury is evident.A preprint of this article is available online: DOI: 10.21203/rs.3.rs-35448/v1.

This study investigated the protective effect of total triterpenoids from Chaenomeles speciosa against Helicobacter pylori(Hp)-induced gastritis in mice and explored its possible mechanism. The chronic atrophic gastritis(CAG) model mice were randomly divided into four groups of model, total triterpenoids from C. speciosa(50 and 100 mg·kg~(-1)) and triple therapy, with C57 BL/6 J mice without Hp infection taken as the normal group. Mice in the treatment groups were given corresponding drugs once a day for 4 weeks. Then the following indexes were detected: the contents of reactive oxygen species(ROS), monocyte chemotactic protein 1(MCP-1), keratinocyte chemokines(KC), TNF-α, IL-1ß, IL-6, IL-18, IL-4 and IL-10 in blood and gastric tissue, the activities and contents of LDH, MPO, SOD, GSH-Px, CAT and MDA in gastric tissue and the activities of ß-glucuronidase, ß-galactosidase, cathepsins B and D in blood, gastric tissue and lysosome. Besides, the mRNA expression levels of Toll-like receptor 4(TLR4), myeloid differentiation factor 88(MyD88), Bcl-2, Bcl-xl, Bax and Bad in gastric tissue were determined by quantitative real-time PCR. Western blot was employed to detect the protein expression levels of TLR4, MyD88, p-IKKß, p-IκBα, NOD-like receptor 3(NLRP3), apoptosis-associated speck-like protein(ASC), pro-caspase-1, caspase-1, thioredoxin-interacting protein(TXNIP), pro-IL-1ß, pro-IL-18, Bcl-2, Bcl-xl, Bax, Bad, cytochrome C, apoptotic protease-activating factor-1(Apaf-1), pro-caspase-9, pro-caspase-3, cleaved-caspase-9, cleaved-caspase-3, poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase 1(PARP-1), cleaved-PARP-1 and cytosol and nucleus NF-κB p65 in gastric tissue. The results indicated that the total triterpenoids from C. speciosa significantly suppressed Hp proliferation, alleviated the damage to gastric mucosa and improved lymphocyte infiltration and gland atrophy. They were also effective in reducing the activities of ß-glucuronidase, ß-galactosidase, cathepsins B and D in blood and gastric tissue, elevating the activities of ß-glucuronidase and cathepsin D in lysosomal organelles, decreasing the contents of ROS, MCP-1, KC, TNF-α, IL-1ß, IL-6, IL-18 in blood, MDA content and MPO and LDH activities in gastric tissue and increasing the contents of IL-4 and IL-10 in blood and activities of SOD, CAT and GSH-Px in gastric tissue. Other phenomena were also observed after the treatment with total triterpenoids from C. speciosa, including the down-regulation of the mRNA and protein expression levels of TLR4, MyD88, Bax and Bad, the protein expression levels of p-IKKß, p-IκBα, NLRP3, ASC, pro-caspase-1, caspase-1, TXNIP, pro-IL-1ß, pro-IL-18, cytochrome C, Apaf-1, cleaved-caspase-9, cleaved-caspase-3, cleaved-PARP-1 and nuclear NF-κB p65, reduction of p-IKKß/IKKß and p-IκBα/IκBα ratios and up-regulation of the mRNA and protein expression levels of Bcl-2 and Bcl-xl, up-regulation of pro-caspase-9, pro-caspace-3, cytosol NF-κB p65 protein expression levels and Bcl-2/Bax and Bcl-xl/Bad ratios in gastric tissue. These aforementioned results suggest that the total triterpenoids from C. speciosa have significant protective effects against CAG induced by Hp, and its mechanism may be related to enhancing the function of endogenous antioxidant system, suppressing the oxidative stress and inflammatory reaction induced by Hp, correcting lysosomal dysfunction and inflammatory activation of TLR4/NF-κB/NLRP3 inflammasome signaling pathway and thus inhibiting mitochondria-mediated apoptosis.

Tournefortia sarmentosa is a traditional Chinese medicine used to reduce tissue swelling, to exert the antioxidant effect, and to detoxify tissue. T. sarmentosa is also used to promote development in children and treat heart dysfunction. However, many of the mechanisms underlying the effects of T. sarmentosa in the treatment of disease remain unexplored. In this study, we investigated the antioxidant effect of T. sarmentosa on rat H9c2 cardiomyocytes treated with hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). T. sarmentosa reduced the cell death induced by H2O2. T. sarmentosa inhibited H2O2-induced changes in cell morphology, activation of cell death-related caspases, and production of reactive oxygen species. In addition, we further analyzed the potential active components of T. sarmentosa and found that the compounds present in the T. sarmentosa extract, including caffeic acid, rosmarinic acid, salvianolic acid A, and salvianolic acid B, exert effects similar to those of the T. sarmentosa extract in inhibiting H2O2-induced H9c2 cell death. Therefore, according to the results of this study, the ability of the T. sarmentosa extract to treat heart disease may be related to its antioxidant activity and its ability to reduce the cellular damage caused by free radicals.

BACKGROUND: Insomnia is a common but frequently overlooked sleep disorder after stroke, and there are limited effective therapies for insomnia following stroke. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), including acupuncture and the Chinese herbal medication (CHM) Suanzaoren decoction (SZRD), has been reported as an alternative option for insomnia relief after stroke in China for thousands of years. Here, this study aims to investigate the efficacy and safety of electroacupuncture (EA) in combination with SZRD in the treatment of insomnia following stroke. METHODS: A total of 240 patients with post-stroke insomnia will be included and randomized into four groups: the EA group, SZRD group, EA & SZRD group, and sham group. The same acupoints (GV20, GV24, HT7, and SP6) will be used in the EA group, EA & SZRD group, and sham group, and these patients will receive the EA treatment or sham manipulation every other day for 4 consecutive weeks. SZRD treatments will be given to participants in the SZRD group and EA & SZRD group twice a day for 4 consecutive weeks. The primary outcome measures include Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index scores and polysomnography. Secondary outcome measures include the Insomnia Severity Index, the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale, the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, brain magnetic resonance imaging, functional magnetic resonance imaging, and nocturnal melatonin concentrations. The primary and secondary outcomes will be assessed at baseline (before treatment), during the 2nd and 4th weeks of the intervention, and at the 8th and 12th weeks of follow-up. Safety assessments will be evaluated at baseline and during the 4th week of the intervention. DISCUSSION: This study will contribute to assessing whether the combination of these two therapies is more beneficial for post-stroke insomnia than their independent use, and the results of this clinical trial will improve our understanding of the possible mechanisms underlying the effects of combination therapies. Poria is used as a traditional Chinese herbal medicine with anti-inflammatory, anticancer, and mood-stabilizing properties. Poria contains triterpenoids and polysaccharides, which are reported to regulate the cytoplasmic free calcium associated with the N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor and affect the cell function of neonatal rat nerve cells and hippocampal neurons. Although the modulatory effects of Poria on neuronal function have been widely reported, the molecular mechanism of these effects is unclear. Cell migration ability and the reorganization of actin filaments are important biological functions during neuronal development, and they can be regulated mainly by the Rho signaling pathway. We found that the cell migration ability and actin condensation in B35 cells enhanced by P. cocos (a water solution of P. cocos cum Radix Pini (PRP) or White Poria (WP)) might be caused by increased RhoA and CDC42 activity and increased expression of downstream ROCK1, p-MLC2, N-WASP, and ARP2/3 in B35 cells. Similar modulations of cell migration ability, actin condensation, and Rho signaling pathway were also observed in the C6 glial cell line, except for the PRP-induced regulation of RhoA and CDC42 activities. Ketamine-induced inhibition of cell migration and actin condensation can be restored by P. cocos. In addition, we observed that the increased expression of RhoA and ROCK1 or the decreased expression of CDC42 and N-WASP caused by ketamine in B35 cells could also be restored by P. cocos. The results of this study suggest that the regulatory effects of P. cocos on cell migration and actin filament aggregation are closely related to the regulation of RhoA, CDC42, and Rho signaling pathways in both B35 and C6 cells. PRP and WP have the potential to restore neuronal cell Rho signaling abnormalities involved in some mental diseases.

Recently, a rationally engineered SpCas9 variant (SpCas9-NG) that can recognize a minimal NG protospacer adjacent motif (PAM) was reported to expand the targeting scope in genome editing. However, increased genome-wide off-target mutations with this variant compared with SpCas9 were reported in previous studies. In addition, lower base editing frequencies and higher unintended off-target mutations were also found in Hoxc13-ablated rabbits generated by NG-BE4max in our study. Here, a high-fidelity base editor, NG-HiFi, in comparison to NG-BE4max, showed retention of on-target activity while exhibiting significantly decreased off-target activity in Hoxc13-ablated rabbits. Collectively, the improved specificity and reduced off-target effect of SpCas9-NG assisted in cytidine base editing with the NG-HiFi system, providing a promising tool to precisely model human diseases in rabbits.

OBJECTIVE: Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) affects children's quality of life and learning. The purpose of this research was to systematically evaluate the efficacy of probiotic adjuvant therapy for IBS in children. METHODS: The Web of Science, PubMed, Cochrane Library, EMBASE and Clinical Trials databases were electronically searched for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) published prior to January 2021 exploring the use of probiotic adjuvant therapy for IBS in children. Strict screening and quality evaluations of the eligible articles were performed independently by 2 researchers. Outcome indexes were extracted, and a meta-analysis of the data was performed using RevMan 5.4.1 and STATA 16 software. Finally, the risk of bias in the included studies was assessed with the RCT bias risk assessment tool recommended in the Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews of Interventions (5.1.0). RESULTS: A total of nine RCTs were included. In children, probiotics significantly reduced the abdominal pain score (I2 = 95%, SMD = -1.15, 95% (-2.05, -0.24), P = 0.01) and Subject's Global Assessment of Relief (SGARC) score (I2 = 95%, MD = -3.84, 95% (-6.49, -1.20), P = 0.004), increased the rate of abdominal pain treatment success (I2 = 0%, RR = 3.44, 95% (1.73, 6.87), P = 0.0005) and abdominal pain relief (I2 = 40%, RR = 1.48, 95% (0.96, 2.28), P = 0.08), and reduced the frequency of abdominal pain (I2 = 2%, MD = -0.82, 95% (-1.57, -0.07), P = 0.03). However, we found that it might not be possible to relieve abdominal pain by increasing the daily intake of probiotics. CONCLUSIONS: Probiotics are effective at treating abdominal pain caused by IBS in children, however, there was no significant correlation between abdominal pain and the amount of probiotics ingested. More attention should be given to IBS in children, and a standardized evaluation should be adopted.

BACKGROUND: The efficacy of early allograft dysfunction (EAD) definitions in predicting post-transplant graft survival in a Chinese population is still unclear. METHODS: A total of 607 orthotopic liver transplants (OLT) have been included in the current study. Model accuracy was evaluated using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis. Risk factors for EAD was evaluated using univariable analysis and multivariable logistic regression model. RESULTS: The 3-, 6-, and 12-month patient/graft survival were 91.6%/91.4%, 91.1%/90%, and 87.5%/87.3%, respectively. MELDPOD5 had a superior discrimination of 3-month graft survival (C statistic, 0.83), compared with MEAF (C statistic, 0.77) and Olthoff criteria (C statistic, 0.72). Multivariate analysis of risk factors for EAD defined by MELDPOD5, showed that donor body mass index (P=0.001), donor risk index (P=0.006), intraoperative use of packed red blood cells (P=0.001), hypertension of recipient (P=0.004), and preoperative total bilirubin (P<0.001) were independent risk factors. CONCLUSIONS: The results suggest that MLEDPOD5 is a better criterion of EAD for the Chinese population, which might serve as a surrogate end-point for graft survival in clinical study.

BACKGROUND: In the last decade, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) has rapidly developed in China. As TAVI progresses towards low surgical risk patients, the total number of TAVI procedures will grow exponentially. There is a need to develop a domestic TAVI device designed for Chinese patients. AIMS: To evaluate the safety and efficacy of a self-expanding valve (TaurusOne® transcatheter aortic valve system) in the treatment of patients with symptomatic severe aortic stenosis in China. METHODS: A prospective, multi-center, single arm study was designed to enroll 120 patients with symptomatic severe aortic stenosis receive TAVI using TaurusOne® valve. The primary endpoint was all-cause mortality at 1 year. RESULTS: From September 2017 to April 2019, 120 patients were enrolled (35% bicuspid aortic valve, mean Society of Thoracic Surgeon (STS) score 9.95%). 1-year mortality in 120 patients (follow-up rate, 100%), was 6.7% (upper 95% confidence interval: 12.9%) which was significantly lower than the performance goal of 30% (P<0.0001). All stroke, myocardial infarction, paravavular leak ≥ moderate, new pacemaker implantation occurred in 4.4%, 1.8%, 0.8%, and 22.1% at 1-year. The hemodynamic results and quality of life scores also improved significantly. Patients with bicuspid valve had similar outcomes as those with tricuspid aortic valve. CONCLUSIONS: The 1-year clinical results confirm the safety and efficacy of the TaurusOne® transcatheter aortic valve system in the treatment of patients with symptomatic severe tricuspid and bicuspid aortic stenosis.

Purpose: It is difficult for doctors to decide whether patients with suspected coronary heart disease classified as Coronary Artery Disease Reporting and Data System (CAD-RADS) < 3 should be administered preventive treatment, or whether non-atherosclerotic chest pain should be considered. The aim of the current study was to investigate coronary hemodynamic characteristics in such patients, which may provide more information on their stenosis and be helpful for initial diagnoses. Methods: Two patient-specific models were reconstructed based on the coronary computed tomographic angiography underwent in 2012. Patient 1 was classified as CAD-RADS 0, and was readmitted to hospital due to coronary artery disease within 5 years. Patient 2 was classified as CAD-RADS 2, and has experienced no adverse events to date. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis was used to obtain hemodynamic parameters including flow rate waveform, flow streamlines, time-average wall shear stress (TAWSS), and oscillatory shear index (OSI). Results: Patient 1 exhibited no physiological characteristics of right coronary artery flow waveform, large areas of low TAWSS, and slow blood flow in the proximal and middle segments of the left anterior descending branch. Patient 2 exhibited reduced coronary supply, small and separate areas of abnormal TAWSS, and a higher left anterior descending branch OSI than patient 1. Conclusion: Hemodynamic abnormalities may play an important role in the prognosis of patients with coronary stenosis, and patient-specific hemodynamic characteristics may facilitate more accurate initial diagnosis, and better management. Overall hemodynamics (along the whole vessel) warranted attention at the time of the initial visit in patients classified as CAD-RADS < 3.
