RESUMO

Two nematode species found in water bodies of Vietnam are described and illustrated. Paranticoma lepta sp. n., found in mangroves of the Yen River estuary is morphologically close to P. bendaense Micoletzky, 1930 and P. tricerviseta Zhang, 2005. From the former species it differs by the shorter cephalic setae and shorter tail, more anteriorly located cervical setae and shorter spicules. From the second species it differs by its thicker body, comparatively longer tail, longer spicules and absence of tooth-like structures in stoma. An illustrated description of males and females of Elzalia bipectinella Hope Aryuthaka 2009 is given, originally described from mangrove forest in the Andaman Sea coastal zone of east Thailand. Females of this species are described for the first time.

RESUMO

This article presents an annotated list of nematode taxa found in mangrove forests along four Vietnamese rivers: the Mekong, Be, Red and Yen Rivers. The list includes 208 species belonging to 88 genera, 36 families and 11 orders of the phylum Nematoda. Three genera and 138 species were first described from these habitats as new taxa. Theristus orientalis Gagarin, Nguyen Vu Thanh, 2005 is transferred to the genus Daptonema Cobb, 1920 as D. orientale (Gagarin, Nguyen Vu Thanh, 2005) nov.nom.. based on the presence of three terminal caudal setae.

RESUMO

A new genus and two new species are described and illustrated from Vietnam. Neotripyla gen. n. has distinctive morphological characters of both Tripylidae and Tobrilidae. The presence of three lips, a narrow stoma with no sclerotized walls, and the arrangement of outer labial and cephalic setae are characteristic of nematodes of the family Tripylidae. The presence of vesiculate precloacal supplements in males and the absence of a muscular pouch for the spicular apparatus are characteristic of nematodes of the family Tobrilidae. Accordingly a new family, Neotripylidae fam. n., is established. Neotripyla vulgaris gen. n., sp. n. is designated the type and only species of the new genus and family. Semitobrilus andrassyi sp. n. is closely related to S. gagarini (Ebsary, 1982), but differs in the longer spicules (71-80 µm vs 65 µm long in S. gagarini) and in the presence of keel-like projection and lateral ribs at distal part of spicules. S. gagarini (Ebsary, 1982) is considered a valid species of the genus Semitobrilus. A list of all valid species of the genus Semitobrilus and key for their determination are given.

RESUMO

Specimens of four new nematode species of the family Comesomatidae were isolated from the sediments of littoral zone of South China Sea at the coast of Vietnam and described and illustrated. Sabatieria curvispiculata sp. n. is characterized by the long and slender tail, short cephalic setae and strongly curved spicules in males. Setosabatiera orientalis sp. n. is close to S. australis Riera, Nunez, Brito, 2006, but differs from it in the comparatively shorter and more slender tail, small-er number of amphidial fovea turns, greater number of precloacal supplements in males and shape and structure of spic-ules. Dorylaimopsis intermedia sp. n. is morphologically closest to D. mediterranea Grimaldi-de Zio, 1968 and D. magellanense Chen, Vincx, 1968, but differs from both species in the longer outer labial setae and absence of precloacal supplements in males. D. brevispiculata sp. n. is similar to D. turneri Zhang, 1992 and D. coomansi Muthumbi, Soetaert, Vincx, 1977, but differs from both species in the shape of outer labial sensillae and absence of precloacal supplements in males. A pictorial key for determination of valid species in the genus Setosabatieria Rouville, 1903 is given.
