OBJECTIVE: To explore the impact of the dietary patterns of truck drivers on their driving behaviours and the mediation effect of fatigue between these factors. METHODS: A sample of 389 male truck drivers from a transport company in Suzhou, China completed the Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ), the Multidimensional Fatigue Inventory (MFI), the Positive Driver Behaviours Scale (PDBS) and the Driver Behaviour Questionnaire (DBQ). The associations among dietary patterns, fatigue and driving behaviour were examined using pathway analysis. RESULTS: Four dietary patterns were identified based on principal component analysis: animal-derived foods, staple foods, snacks and vegetables. The pathway analysis showed that the vegetable-rich pattern had a direct positive impact on positive driving behaviour (ß=0.211, p<0.001); the animal-derived pattern had a direct positive impact on errors (ß=0.094, p<0.05) and ordinary violations (ß=0.071, p<0.05); the snacks pattern had a direct negative impact on positive driving behaviour (ß=-0.191, p<0.001); fatigue mediated the effect of dietary patterns on driving behaviours (p<0.001); and the staple foods had an indirect effect on driving behaviours. CONCLUSIONS: Overall, the driving behaviours of truck drivers are correlated with their dietary patterns. Drivers who preferred vegetables and staple foods had more positive driving behaviour, while the animal-derived food and snack patterns were related to dangerous driving behaviour. The experience of fatigue could explained the underlying mechanism between these factors.

Toxicokinetic (TK) model provides a new approach to mechanistically elucidate the natural variation of metal handling strategy by adaptive and sensitive earthworm populations. Here, TK model was applied to explore the metal handling and resistance strategy of wild Metaphire californica with different historical exposure history through a 12-day re-exposure and another 12-day elimination incubation. M. californica populations showed different kinetic strategies for non-essential metals (Cd and Pb) and essential metals (Zn and Cu), which were closely related to their exposure history. M. californica from the most serious Cd-contaminated soil showed the fastest kinetic rates of both Cd uptake (K1 = 0.78 gsoil/gworm/day) and elimination (K2 = 0.23 day-1), and also had the lowest Cd half-life (t1/2 = 3.01 day), which demonstrated the potential Cd-resistance of wild M. californica from Cd-contaminated soils. Besides, the comparative experiment showed totally different metal kinetics of laboratory Eisenia fetida from field M. californica, suggesting the impacts of distinct exposure history and species-specifical sensitivities. These findings provide a novel approach to identify and quantify resistance using TK model and also imply the risk of overlooking existing exposure background and interspecies extrapolation in eco-toxicological studies and risk assessments.

OBJECTIVE: To observe the regulatory effect of electroacupuncture (EA) on small airway function and exercise tolerance in patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). METHODS: A total of 62 patients with stable COPD were randomized into an observation group (31 cases, 1 case dropped off) and a control group (31 cases, 5 cases dropped off). On the base of routine medication and aerobic exercise, the patients of the two groups all received EA at Danzhong (CV 17), Rugen (ST 18), Guanyuan (CV 4), Zhongwan (CV 12), Tianshu (ST 25) and Yingchuang (ST 16). In the observation group, filiform needles were used and inserted perpendicularly, 3 mm in depth. In the control group, the placebo needling method was performed, in which the needle was not inserted through skin at each point. In both groups, electric stimulation with low-frequency electronic pulse instrument was exerted, with continuous wave, 2 Hz in frequency, lasting 30 min each time in the two groups. The treatment was given once every other day, 3 times a week, for 14 treatments totally. Before and after treatment, the following indexes were compared in patients between the two groups, i.e. the lung function indexes (forced expiratory volume in first second [FEV1], forced vital capacity [FVC], the ratio of FEV1 to FVC [FEV1/FVC], maximal voluntary ventilation [MVV], the percentage of maximal expiratory flow [MEF] at 25% of FVC exhaled [MEF25], MEF50 and MEF75 in predicted value), cardiopulmonary exercise test indexs (metabolic equivalent [METS], oxygen uptake per kg body weight [VO2/kg], minute ventilation [VE], the percentage of oxygen pulse [VO2/HR] in predictd value, maximal minute ventilation [VEmax], ventilatory equivalent for oxygen [VE/VO2], ventilatory equivalent for carbon dioxide [VE/VCO2]), 6-minute walk distance (6MWD), the total score of COPD assessment test (CAT), the modified British Medical Research Council (mMRC) score and COPD comprehensive grade. RESULTS: After treatment, FVC%, MVV%, MEF75%, MEF50%, VO2/kg%, METs%, VEmax, VO2/HR%, 6MW and the total CAT score were all improved as compared with those before treatment in the observation group (P<0.05, P<0.01). After treatment, MEF75% and the total CAT score were reduced as compared with those before treatment in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, MVV%, MEF50%, VO2/kg%, METs%, VEmax and 6MWD in the observation group were all better than those in the control group (P<0.05, P<0.01). CONCLUSION: Electroacupuncture can improve the respiratory function and exercise tolerance in COPD patients through removing small airway obstruction and increasing ventilation.

ABSTRACT: This study was to identify the predictors of recurrence in patients with high-grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) after cervical conization.Totally 415 patients with CIN ≥ II who underwent loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP) or cold knife conization (CKC) were included in this retrospective study. Cox proportional hazards model was used to estimate the hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) regarding the association between postoperative recurrence and clinicopathological data.After the mean follow-up of (21.48 ±â€Š5.82) months, 90 (21.69%) out of 415 cases were subjected to recurrence after cervical conization. The influencing factors for postoperative recurrence included times of full-term birth, history of preterm birth, history of abortion, positive margin, cone length, width, depth, smoking, and history of complicating diseases (P < .05). Multivariate Cox model indicated the positive margin (HR = 2.144, 95% CI: 1.317-3.492, P < .05), history of preterm birth (HR = 4.515, 95% CI: 1.598-12.754, P < .05), history of complicating diseases (HR = 3.552, 95% CI: 1.952-6.462, P < .05) were independent risk factors for recurrence after cervical conization. The restricted cubic diagram showed that the cone depth >0.5 cm was a protective factor for postoperative recurrence.For the patients with high-grade CIN after cervical conization, positive margins, histories of preterm birth, and complicating diseases were associated with increased risk of recurrence, but cone depth (>0.5 cm) with lower risk of recurrence.

Supramolecular assemblies based on oligo(ethylene glycol) (OEG) building blocks are well-known for their neutral chemical property and thermal-responsive behavior. Here, the cyclic "CLOSED" and linear "OPEN" typologies of OEGs led to dramatic difference in the sensitivity to guanidinium-containing species. From thermodynamic studies, the association constant (Ka) between the "CLOSED" form amphiphile and guanidinium salt was determined to be 28.7 M-1, whereas there was no detectable binding affinity for the "OPEN" form. Therefore, considering ion specificity, the present results establish that crown ether derivatives with "CLOSED" and "OPEN" topologies provide an easy-to-access model pair with designed ion-recognition sites and special functional moieties and geometries (like the binding pockets of enzymes or ion channels in cellular members) that allow the manipulation of the intercrossed relationship between supramolecular solutes, waters, and guanidinium salts. These supramolecular forces in aqueous solution offered an alternative strategy to fabricate thermal-responsive systems in ionic medium.

In the phishing email literature, recent researchers have given much attention to individual differences in phishing susceptibility from the perspective of the Big Five personality traits. Although the effectiveness and advantages of the phishing susceptibility measures in the signal detection theory (SDT) framework have been verified, the cognitive mechanisms that lead to individual differences in these measures remain unknown. The current study proposed and examined a theoretical path model to explore how the Big Five personality traits, related knowledge and experience and the cognitive processing of emails (i.e., mail elaboration) influence users' susceptibility to phishing emails. A sample of 414 Chinese participants completed the 44-item Big Five Personality Inventory (BFI-44), Mail Elaboration Scale (MES), Web Experience Questionnaire, Experience with Electronic Mail Scale, Knowledge and Technical Background Test and a demographic questionnaire. The phishing susceptibility measures were calculated after the participants finished an email legitimacy task in a role-playing scenario. The results showed that the general profile of the "victim personality" included low conscientiousness, low openness and high neuroticism, and Internet experience and computer and web knowledge played an important role. All of these factors have significant indirect effects on phishing susceptibility by influencing mail elaboration. Moreover, the probabilities of checking for further information or deleting the email reflect the sensitivity of email judgment. These findings reveal the mediating role of cognitive processing between individual factors and phishing susceptibility. The theoretical implications of this study for the phishing susceptibility literature and its applications to phishing risk interventions or training programs are discussed.

Background: Newly emerging cancer immunotherapy has led to significant progress in cancer treatment; however, its efficacy is limited in solid tumors since the majority of them are "cold" tumors. Oncolytic viruses, especially when properly armed, can directly target tumor cells and indirectly modulate the tumor microenvironment (TME), resulting in "hot" tumors. These viruses can be applied as a cancer immunotherapy approach either alone or in combination with other cancer immunotherapies. Cytokines are good candidates to arm oncolytic viruses. IL-23, an IL-12 cytokine family member, plays many roles in cancer immunity. Here, we used oncolytic vaccinia viruses to deliver IL-23 variants into the tumor bed and explored their activity in cancer treatment on multiple tumor models. Methods: Oncolytic vaccinia viruses expressing IL-23 variants were generated by homologue recombination. The characteristics of these viruses were in vitro evaluated by RT-qPCR, ELISA, flow cytometry and cytotoxicity assay. The antitumor effects of these viruses were evaluated on multiple tumor models in vivo and the mechanisms were investigated by RT-qPCR and flow cytometry. Results: IL-23 prolonged viral persistence, probably mediated by up-regulated IL-10. The sustainable IL-23 expression and viral oncolysis elevated the expression of Th1 chemokines and antitumor factors such as IFN-γ, TNF-α, Perforin, IL-2, Granzyme B and activated T cells in the TME, transforming the TME to be more conducive to antitumor immunity. This leads to a systemic antitumor effect which is dependent on CD8+ and CD4+ T cells and IFN-γ. Oncolytic vaccinia viruses could not deliver stable IL-23A to the tumor, attributed to the elevated tristetraprolin which can destabilize the IL-23A mRNA after the viral treatment; whereas vaccinia viruses could deliver membrane-bound IL-23 to elicit a potent antitumor effect which might avoid the possible toxicity normally associated with systemic cytokine exposure. Conclusion: Either secreted or membrane-bound IL-23-armed vaccinia virus can induce potent antitumor effects and IL-23 is a candidate cytokine to arm oncolytic viruses for cancer immunotherapy.

The main core of wound treatment is cell growth and anti-infection. To accelerate the proliferation of fibroblasts in the wound and prevent wound infections, various strategies have been tried. It remains a challenge to obtain good cell proliferation and antibacterial effects. Here, human hair kerateine (HHK)/poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO)/poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) nanofibers were prepared using cysteine-rich HHK, and then, silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were in situ anchored in the sulfur-containing amino acid residues of HHK. After the ultrasonic degradation test, HHK/PEO/PVA nanofibrous mats treated with 0.005-M silver nitrate were selected due to their relatively complete structures. It was observed by TEM-EDS that the sulfur-containing amino acids in HHK were the main anchor points of AgNPs. The results of FTIR, XRD and the thermal analysis suggested that the hydrogen bonds between PEO and PVA were broken by HHK and, further, by AgNPs. AgNPs could act as a catalyst to promote the thermal degradation reaction of PVA, PEO and HHK, which was beneficial for silver recycling and medical waste treatment. The antibacterial properties of AgNP-HHK/PEO/PVA nanofibers were examined by the disk diffusion method, and it was observed that they had potential antibacterial capability against Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria and fungi. In addition, HHK in the nanofibrous mats significantly improved the cell proliferation of NIH3T3 cells. These results illustrated that the AgNP-HHK/PEO/PVA nanofibrous mats exhibited excellent antibacterial activity and the ability to promote the proliferation of fibroblasts, reaching our target applications.

Renal tubular epithelial cells (TECs) play a key role in renal fibrogenesis. After persistent injuries that are beyond self-healing capacity, TECs will dedifferentiate, undergo growth arrest, convert to profibrogenic phenotypes, and resort to maladaptive plasticity that ultimately results in renal fibrosis. Evidence suggests that glycogen synthase kinase (GSK) 3ß is centrally implicated in kidney injury. However, its role in renal fibrogenesis is obscure. Analysis of publicly available kidney transcriptome database demonstrated that patients with progressive chronic kidney disease (CKD) exhibited GSK3ß overexpression in renal tubulointerstitium, in which the predefined hallmark gene sets implicated in fibrogenesis were remarkably enriched. In vitro, TGF-ß1 treatment augmented GSK3ß expression in TECs, concomitant with dedifferentiation, cell cycle arrest at G2/M phase, excessive accumulation of extracellular matrix, and overproduction of profibrotic cytokines like PAI-1 and CTGF. All these profibrogenic phenotypes were largely abrogated by GSK3ß inhibitors or by ectopic expression of a dominant-negative mutant of GSK3ß but reinforced in cells expressing the constitutively active mutant of GSK3ß. Mechanistically, GSK3ß suppressed, whereas inhibiting GSK3ß facilitated, the activity of cAMP response element-binding protein (CREB), which competes for CREB-binding protein, a transcriptional coactivator essential for TGF-ß1/Smad signaling pathway to drive TECs profibrogenic plasticity. In vivo, in mice with folic acid-induced progressive CKD, targeting of GSK3ß in renal tubules via genetic ablation or by microdose lithium mitigated the profibrogenic plasticity of TEC, concomitant with attenuated interstitial fibrosis and tubular atrophy. Collectively, GSK3ß is likely a pragmatic therapeutic target for averting profibrogenic plasticity of TECs and improving renal fibrosis.

Loss of FLG causes ichthyosis vulgaris. Reduced FLG expression compromises epidermal barrier function and is associated with atopic dermatitis, allergy, and asthma. The flaky tail mouse harbors two mutations that affect the skin barrier, Flgft, resulting in hypomorphic FLG expression, and Tmem79ma, inactivating TMEM79. Mice defective only for TMEM79 featured dermatitis and systemic atopy, but also Flgft/ft BALB/c congenic mice developed eczema, high IgE, and spontaneous asthma, suggesting that FLG protects from atopy. In contrast, a targeted Flg-knockout mutation backcrossed to BALB/c did not result in dermatitis or atopy. To resolve this discrepancy, we generated FLG-deficient mice on pure BALB/c background by inactivating Flg in BALB/c embryos. These mice feature an ichthyosis phenotype, barrier defect, and facilitated percutaneous sensitization. However, they do not develop dermatitis or atopy. Whole-genome sequencing of the atopic Flgft BALB/c congenics revealed that they were homozygous for the atopy-causing Tmem79matted mutation. In summary, we show that FLG deficiency does not cause atopy in mice, in line with lack of atopic disease in a fraction of patients with ichthyosis vulgaris carrying two Flg null alleles. However, the absence of FLG likely promotes and modulates dermatitis caused by other genetic barrier defects.

Cervical cancer (CC) is one of the most common cancers among women with high recurrence rates all over the world. Recently, the molecular mechanism of CC has been gradually uncovered in accumulating reports. This study aimed to investigate the function and upstream regulation mechanism of pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase 4 (PDK4) in CC cells, which was verified as an oncogene in several cancers. Through RT-qPCR assay, we discovered that PDK4 was highly expressed in CC cells. Then, it was demonstrated in function assays that PDK4 facilitated CC cell proliferation and invasion, but inhibited CC cell apoptosis. Next, we sought to determine the upstream genes of PDK4, and miR-103a-3p was identified to target PDK4. Then, through bioinformatics tools and a range of mechanism assays, long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 662 (LINC00662) was verified as the sponge of miR-103a-3p. Moreover, LINC00662 positively modulated PDK4 expression via competitively binding to miR-103a-3p in CC cells. Subsequently, rescue assays demonstrated that LINC00662 accelerated CC cell proliferation and inhibited cell apoptosis through upregulating PDK4. Furthermore, forkhead box A1 (FOXA1) was verified to activate transcription of both LINC00662 and PDK4. Taken together, our study revealed a novel ceRNA pattern of LINC00662/miR-103a-3p/PDK4 with FOXA1 as a transcription factor of LINC00662 and PDK4 in CC cells.

BACKGROUND: Pulmonary hamartomas are the most common benign tumors of the lungs and can occur anywhere in the lungs, normal hyperplasia, congenital malformation, inflammatory changes, and tumorigenesis are hypothesized to underlie the pathogeny, but the definite etiology remains to be elucidated. Primary pulmonary lymphoma (PPL) refers to clonal lymphoid hyperplasia of one or both lungs in patients who have no detectable extrapulmonary lymphoma or bone marrow involvement at the time of diagnosis and during the subsequent 3 months. It is rare for both diseases to occur in the lungs of the same patient. METHODS: Appropriate laboratory tests, Chest CT scan, bronchoscopy and CT-guided percutaneous lung biopsy. RESULTS: Laboratory tests showed (1-3)-ß-D-glucan was 226.3 pg/mL and sputum culture of Aspergillus niger. Chest Computer Tomography (CT) scan showed multiple flaky high-density shadows in both lungs, proven to be right hamartoma with left lung pulmonary primary lymphoma by bronchoscopy biopsy and CT guided percutaneous needle lung biopsy. CONCLUSIONS: When there are high density shadows or nodules in different parts of one patient's lung, these lesions may not be the same disease. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct biopsies of the lesions in different parts of the lung.

A series of CQDs/Bi2WO6 (CBW) hybrid materials with different loading amounts of carbon quantum dots (CQDs) were prepared via a facile in situ hydrothermal method. As determined by multiple techniques including XRD, TEM, UV-vis, PL, TPR, and XPS, the CBW possessed expanded visible light response interval, decreased recombination rate of the photogenerated electron hole, and enhanced oxidation ability as compared with the pristine Bi2WO6. In addition, with different loading amounts of CQDs, the optical and electronic properties of the corresponding CBW were different. These CBW materials performed superior activities to the pristine Bi2WO6 in the photodegradation of VOCs under visible light, among which the CBW-2 demonstrated the best activity of almost complete degradation within only 120 min. Moreover, the CBW-2 exhibited high stability and reusability after five cycles.

RESUMO

Knockout (KO) or exogenous expression of a gene of interest in cultured cells is one of the most important ways to study the function of the gene. Compared with transient transfection, stable cell lines possess great advantages such as excellent cell homogeneity and feasibility for long-term use. However, technical challenges in generating stable cell lines still exist in many laboratories using conventional techniques like limiting dilution or cloning cylinders. In this study we describe an optimized method to efficiently create stable cell lines for functional studies. This method was successfully used to generate a PIEZO1 gene-KO cell line with the CRISPR/Cas9 technology, and TRPC5/GCaMP6f-mCherry-coexpressing cell lines without antibiotic selection. Monoclonal cell lines can be obtained in 2-4 weeks after transfection. This method does not require any special equipment or consumables and can be conducted in all laboratories with general cell-culture facility.

BACKGROUND: Tracheobronchial foreign body aspiration is a potentially risky medical event, while the condition often requires early detection and rapid intervention to improve respiratory symptoms and prevent major morbidity. Notably, foreign bodies may not be identified and they are likely to be mistaken for neoplastic lesions. However, CEA, as one of tumor markers, presents to be available for assisting in lung cancer diagnosis, especially for non-small-cell lung cancer, while the specificity of CEA is not high. METHODS: Here, we described a case of bronchial opening obstruction with elevated carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) that was firstly misdiagnosed as lung cancer and proved as foreign body aspiration in the upper lobe bronchus of right lung by bronchoscopy. RESULTS: Carcinoembryonic antigen level increased. CT scan demonstrated a cavitation accompanied by multiple small nodular shadows appeared in the right upper lobe field. Bronchoscopy suggested right upper lobe bronchus was blocked by a brown smooth organism with plenty of purulent materials, which was proved as a rotten vegetable leaf. CONCLUSIONS: Elevated CEA and bronchial obstruction are not typical manifestations of lung cancer. Bronchoscopy is crucial for making a reliable diagnosis.

BACKGROUND: Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug-exacerbated respiratory disease (N-ERD) is a chronic inflammatory condition, which is driven by an aberrant arachidonic acid metabolism. Macrophages are major producers of arachidonic acid metabolites and subject to metabolic reprogramming, but they have been neglected in N-ERD. OBJECTIVE: This study sought to elucidate a potential metabolic and epigenetic macrophage reprogramming in N-ERD. METHODS: Transcriptional, metabolic, and lipid mediator profiles in macrophages from patients with N-ERD and healthy controls were assessed by RNA sequencing, Seahorse assays, and LC-MS/MS. Metabolites in nasal lining fluid, sputum, and plasma from patients with N-ERD (n = 15) and healthy individuals (n = 10) were quantified by targeted metabolomics analyses. Genome-wide methylomics were deployed to define epigenetic mechanisms of macrophage reprogramming in N-ERD. RESULTS: This study shows that N-ERD monocytes/macrophages exhibit an overall reduction in DNA methylation, aberrant metabolic profiles, and an increased expression of chemokines, indicative of a persistent proinflammatory activation. Differentially methylated regions in N-ERD macrophages included genes involved in chemokine signaling and acylcarnitine metabolism. Acylcarnitines were increased in macrophages, sputum, nasal lining fluid, and plasma of patients with N-ERD. On inflammatory challenge, N-ERD macrophages produced increased levels of acylcarnitines, proinflammatory arachidonic acid metabolites, cytokines, and chemokines as compared to healthy macrophages. CONCLUSIONS: Together, these findings decipher a proinflammatory metabolic and epigenetic reprogramming of macrophages in N-ERD.

Chronotype refers to individual differences in the timing of circadian sleep-wake cycles and subjective alertness throughout the day. It is a potential factor influencing people's driving behaviour, but no research has explored the mechanisms underlying this topic. The current study aimed to explore the relationship between morningness-eveningness preferences and driving behaviour and the mediating effect of visual search between them. Thirty-eight drivers were selected to participate in this study based on their chronotype. They were divided into morning-type and evening-type groups by their score on the reduced Morningness-Eveningness Questionnaire (rMEQ). Both groups completed a visual search task and a simulated driving task in a morning session and an evening session. The results showed that morningness-eveningness preferences had synchronous effects on basic driving performance; specifically, morning-type drivers showed better driving behaviour in the morning than in the evening, and evening-type drivers showed the opposite trend. Furthermore, visual search abilities showed a mediating effect between morningness-eveningness preference and driving performance. The mechanisms underlying these results are discussed. Related results and data could aid with schedule arrangements for professional drivers.

The anion-adaptive self-assembly described here not only offers a facile approach to produce large single-molecule magnets without the need for precise manipulation of the stoichiometry of ligand-metal centers but also provides an understanding of how structural factors affect the magnetic properties. X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that a rare hexagonal metallacycle with a diameter approaching 23 Å was obtained. Magnetic investigation shows that the resulting hexagonal metallacycle behaves as a typical single-molecule magnet with double relaxation under dc field thanks to the different coordination geometry of the DyIII centers.

The current study elucidates the impact of soil metal contamination on earthworm communities at the ecotype level. A total of 292 earthworms belonging to 13 species were collected in metal-contaminated soils from Wanshou (WSC), Daxing (DXC) and Lupu (LPC) plots (1.40-6.60, 29.4-126, 251-336 and 91.9-109 mg/kg for soil Cd, Cu, Zn and Pb, respectively) in Hunan Province, southern China. The results showed that the total earthworm density and biomass significantly decreased along the increasing metal-contaminated gradient while epigeic earthworms became more dominant than anecic and endogeic earthworms. Redundancy analysis (RDA) showed that soil pH, total nitrogen and Cd concentration were the primary factors influencing earthworm communities, explaining 33.7%, 29.1% and 26.7% of the total variance, respectively. In addition, epigeic earthworm Metaphire californica bioaccumulated more Cd (0.27-0.60 mmol/kg), while endogeic earthworm Amynthas hupeiensis and anecic earthworm Amynthas asacceus bioaccumulated more Cu (0.55-1.62 mmol/kg) and Zn (2.86-6.46 mmol/kg) from soil, respectively, which were related to their habit soils and showed the species-specific bioaccumulation features. Our study discovered the diverse responses of earthworm ecotypes to metal contamination and their specific features of metal bioaccumulation, provide insight for soil risk assessments and for biodiversity conservation from a niche partitioning perspective. CAPSULE: Earthworms of different ecotypes showed different responses to soil metal contamination and species-specific features of metal bioaccumulation.

Because of the increase in the numbers of vehicles and drivers, traffic congestion causes anger on the road to occur frequently. In addition to the impact of personality traits, the information processing of emotional stimuli also influences drivers' behaviours. Research is needed to understand how drivers interact with anger stimuli and the differences in processing anger information between safe and dangerous drivers. This study aimed to explore the differences between safe and dangerous drivers' negativity bias towards anger and discuss the causes of dangerous driving behaviours from the perspective of information processing. In total, 34 participants were divided into a safe group and dangerous group based on their traffic violation history and driving behaviour trends. Participants completed an emotional Stroop task with event-related potential (ERP) data. The results showed that the P200 amplitudes of dangerous drivers were significantly reduced compared with those of safe drivers when processing angry and neutral faces, indicating the inadequate assessment of angry faces in early emotional processing. The N170 amplitudes of dangerous drivers were significantly reduced compared with those of safe drivers when processing angry faces, demonstrating decreased negative input that is potentially related to dispositional fearlessness and uncaring traits. This study revealed negativity bias towards anger in dangerous drivers based on ERP evidence, enabling us to understand the differences in driving behaviours from the perspective of physiological mechanisms.
