BACKGROUND: Due to the technical limitations of coronary artery angiography (CAG), ramus intermedius (RI) is sometimes difficult to distinguish from a high-origin obtuse marginal branch or a high-origin diagonal branch. This study sought to investigate the role of intravascular ultrasonography (IVUS) in the rectification of angiographically judged RI. METHODS: This study retrospectively analyzed 165 patients who were reported to have an RI based on CAG and underwent IVUS implementation from 02/01/2009 to 31/12/2019 in Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University. Taking IVUS as the gold standard, we calculated the accuracy of RI identification by CAG and evaluated the impact of RI on revascularization strategy. RESULTS: Among the 165 patients, 89 patients (54%) were demonstrated to have an RI on IVUS (IVUS-RI), 32 patients (19%) were identified to have a high-origin diagonal branch on IVUS (IVUS-h-D), and 44 patients (27%) had an actual high-origin obtuse marginal artery on IVUS (IVUS-h-OM). Among 84 patients who underwent one-stent crossover stenting because of left main furcation lesions (48 patients in the IVUS-RI group, 12 patients in the IVUS-h-D group, and 24 in the IVUS-h-OM group), 14.6% of patients in the IVUS-RI group, 33.3% in the IVUS-h-D group and 0% in the IVUS-h-OM group had CAG-RI compromise (P = 0.02), which was defined as severe stenosis of the RI ostium (> 75%) or significant RI flow impairment (TIMI < 3). CONCLUSIONS: Only 54% of CAG-RIs were confirmed by IVUS, which indicates the necessity of preintervention IVUS to distinguish real RIs from other branches in LM furcation lesions.

RESUMO

A zinc-catalyzed C-H alkenylation of quinoline N-oxides with ynones has been developed to rapidly assemble a broad collection of valuable quinoline-enol organic architectures. Uncommonly, this novel reaction involves C-H functionalization, and N-O, C-C and C[triple bond, length as m-dash]C bond cleavage in one operation, and leads exclusively to the formation of an enol rather than a keto product. Application of the enols generated was highlighted by further derivative transformation and preparation of a series of "BODIPY" analogues with high quantum yields (up to 86%).

OBJECTIVE: To compare the clinical therapeutic effect on coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) with insomnia between the combined treatment of baduanjin and auricular point sticking therapy and the medication with oral estazolam on the base of the conventional treatment. METHODS: A total of 90 patients with COVID-19 accompanied with insomnia were randomly divided into an observation group (45 cases, 3 cases dropped off) and a control group (45 cases). In the observation group, baduanjin, a traditional Chinese fitness activity, was practiced everyday. Besides, auricular point sticking therapy was exerted at ear-shenmen (TF 4), subcortex (AT 4), heart (CO 15), occiput (AT 3), etc. These auricular points were pressed and kneaded three times a day, 30 s at each point each time, consecutively for 12 days. In the control group, estazolam tablets were prescribed for oral administration, 1 mg, once daily, consecutively for 12 days. Before and after treatment, the score of Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI), the score of self-rating anxiety scale (SAS), the score of self-rating depression scale (SDS) and the score of symptoms in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) were observed in the two groups and the clinical therapeutic effect was evaluated. RESULTS: After treatment, the scores of every item and the total scores in PSQI were all reduced as compared with those before treatment in the two groups (P<0.01). The scores of sleep time and sleep efficiency in the observation group were lower than those in the control group after treatment (P<0.05). SAS scores and SDS scores in the observation group and SAS score in the control group after treatment were all reduced as compared with those before treatment (P<0.01), and SDS score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.01). After treatment, in the observation group, the score of each of the symptoms of TCM, i.e. unsound sleep, irritability and hot temper, profuse sputum and sticky feeling in the mouth, bitter taste in the mouth and foul breath, abdominal distention and poor appetite, as well as lassitude was reduced as compared with that before treatment successively (P<0.01), and the scores aforementioned (excepted for the unsound sleep) in the observation group were all lower than the control group (P<0.05). The total effective rates were 83.3% (35/42) in the observation group and 84.4% (38/45) in the control group, without statistical difference in comparison (P>0.05). CONCLUSION: The combined treatment of baduanjin and auricular point sticking therapy improves sleep quality, the conditions of anxiety and depression and the symptoms in TCM for patients of COVID-19 with insomnia. The therapeutic effect of this combined treatment is better than the oral administration of estazolam.

Recent research studies have shown that the low survival rate of liver cancer is due to drug resistance and metastasis. In the tumor microenvironment (TME), activated hepatic stellate cells (aHSCs) have been proven to favor the development of liver cancer. Hence, the combination therapy dual-targeting aHSCs and tumor cells might be an effective strategy for treatment of liver cancer. In this study, the novel multifunctional liposomes (CAPS-CUR/GA&Gal-Lip) were prepared for co-delivery of curcumin (CUR) and capsaicin (CAPS), in which glycyrrhetinic acid (GA) and galactose (Gal) were chosen as targeting ligands to modify the liposomes (Lip) for dual-targeting liver cancer. To mimic TME, a novel HSCs+HepG2 (human hepatoma cell line) cocultured model was established for the antitumor effect in vitro. The results showed that, compared to HepG2 cells alone, the cocultured model promoted drug resistance and migration by upregulating the expression of P-glycoprotein (P-gp) and Vimentin, which were effectively inhibited by CAPS-CUR/GA&Gal-Lip. The efficacy of the in vivo antitumor was evaluated by three mice models: subcutaneous H22 (mouse hepatoma cell line) tumor-bearing mice, H22+m-HSC (mouse hepatic stellate cell) tumor-bearing mice, and orthotopic H22 cells-bearing mice. The results showed that CAPS-CUR/GA&Gal-Lip exhibited lesser extracellular matrix (ECM) deposition, lesser tumor angiogenesis, and superior antitumor effect compared with the no- and/or Gal-modified Lip, which was attributed to the simultaneous blocking of the activation of HSCs and inhibition of the metastasis of tumor cells. The dual-targeting method using Lip is thus a potential strategy for liver cancer treatment.

OBJECTIVES: Pathological invasion level of extramammary Paget disease (EMPD) is strongly related with its risk staging, treatment, and prognosis. However, the current evaluation before treatments fails to evaluate pathological invasion level of EMPD. High-frequency ultrasound (HFUS) may play a key role to solve this problem. The purpose was to explore the performance of HFUS in the evaluation of pathological invasion level of EMPD. METHODS: Sixty pathologically proven EMPD patients were retrospectively enrolled and divided into 2 groups as follows: in situ in the epidermis (IE) (n = 42) and invasion into the dermis or subcutaneous (ID) (n = 18) groups. Clinical and HFUS features were compared between the 2 groups. RESULTS: Between the 2 groups, HFUS features (lesion shape, internal echogenicity and echotexture, surface shape, epidermal hyperechoic layer on the surface, the "pseudopod sign", and color Doppler ultrasound features) and clinical features were comparable (all P >.05). Tumor growth pattern significantly differed between the 2 groups (P <.05). Infiltration depth was significantly deeper for the ID group than the IE group (P <.05). With a cutoff value of 1.55 mm for infiltration depth, the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve was 0.833. CONCLUSIONS: HFUS features of tumor growth pattern and infiltration depth may contribute to the assessment of invasion level of EMPD.

A novel metal-free C-H [5 + 1] carbonylative annulation of 2-alkenyl/pyrrolylanilines with dioxazolones has been established for the assembly of the privileged quinolinones and pyrrolyl-fused quinoxalinones. Entirely differing from the existing reports, the dioxazolones herein behave with an innovative chemistry and first emerge as carbonylating reagents to participate in annulation reactions. Moreover, this process features exceedingly simple operation (only solvent) and tolerates both vinyl and aryl substrates. Comprehensive mechanistic studies indicate that the formed isocyanate intermediate plays a crucial role in enabling the carbonylation annulation.

Background: Genetic variants of coding genes related to blood pressure regulation participate in the pathogenesis of hypertension and determines the response to specific antihypertensive drugs. G protein-coupled receptor kinase 4 (GRK4) and its variants are of great importance in pathogenesis of hypertension. However, little is known about role of GRK4 variants in determine circadian rhythm of blood pressure and response to candesartan in hypertension. The aim of this study was to analyze the correlation of GRK4 variants and circadian rhythm of blood pressure, and to explore their effect on antihypertensive efficiency of candestartan.Methods: In this study, a total of 1239 cases were eligible, completed ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPm) observation and exon sequencing of G protein-coupled receptor kinase 4 (GRK4). ABPm was obtained before and after 4-week treatment of candesartan. Diurnal variation of systolic blood pressure and antihypertensive effect of candesartan were then assessed.Results: Compared to GRK4 wild type (GRK4-WT), patients with GRK4 variants were more likely to be non-dippers (odds ratio (OR) 6.672, 95% confidence interval (CI) 5.124-8.688, P < .001), with GRK4 A142V (OR 5.888, 95% CI 4.332-8.003, P < .001), A486V (OR 7.102, 95% CI 5.334-9.455, P < .001) and GRK4 R65L (OR 3.273, 95% CI 2.271-4.718, P < .001), respectively. Correlation analysis revealed that non-dippers rhythm of blood pressure were associated with GRK4 variants (r = .420, P < .001), with GRK4 A142V (r = .416, P < .001), A486V (r = .465, P < .001) and GRK4 R65L (r = .266, P < .001), respectively. When given 4-week candesartan, patients with GRK4 variants showed better antihypertensive effect as to drop in blood pressure (24 h mSBP, 21.21 ± 4.99 vs 12.34 ± 4.78 mmHg, P < .001) and morning peak (MP-SBP, 16.54 ± 4.37 vs 11.52 ± 4.14 mmHg, P < .001), as well as greater increase in trough to peak ratio (SBP-T/P, .71 ± .07 vs .58 ± .07, P < .001) and smoothness index (SBP-SI, 1.44 ± .16 vs 1.17 ± .11, P < .001) than those with GRK4 WT.Conclusion: This study indicates that hypertensive patients with GRK4 variants are more likely to be non-dippers. What's more, patients with GRK4 variants possess a significantly better antihypertensive response to candesartan than those with GRK4 WT.

In this work, a low-cost MoO2/C catalyst was prepared for the reductive catalytic fractionation (RCF) of various herbaceous biomass feedstocks (Miscanthus, Triarrhena, Floridulus, Sorghum stem and Corncob). Phenolic monomers from the hydrogenolysis of lignin component were obtained in up to 26.4 wt%, with high selectivity towards methyl coumarate (33%) and methyl ferulate (24%). The RCF left solid carbohydrate pulps with high retentions (up to 87%), which were suitable for enzymatic hydrolysis. The reaction conditions, including temperature, time, H2 pressure, and sawdust size were examined in terms of monophenols yield, selectivity, delignification and sugar retention. This study showed that MoO2/C could function as an excellent catalyst for lignin fragmentation as well as the fractionation of herbaceous biomass components.

OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to investigate the composition of the intestinal microbiota and its association with fecal short chain fatty acids (SCFAs) in children with drug refractory epilepsy (DRE) before and after treatment with a ketogenic diet (KD). METHODS: Herein, we conducted a cross-sectional study of 12 children with DRE and 12 matched healthy controls to compare the changes in fecal microbiomes and SCFAs. Disease cohort also underwent analysis before and after 6 months of KD treatment. RESULTS: A higher microbial alpha diversity and a significant increase in Actinobacteria at the phylum level and Enterococcus, Anaerostipes, Bifidobacterium, Bacteroides, and Blautia at the genus level were observed in the children with DRE. The abundance of the eight epileptic-associated genera was reversed after six months of KD treatment with decreases in Bifidobacterium, Akkermansia, Enterococcaceae and Actinomyces and increases in Subdoligranulum, Dialister, Alloprevotella (p < 0.05). In particular, we identified some taxa that were more prevalent in patients with an inadequate response to KD than in those with an adequate response. Further, a significant correlation was observed between the change in the microbiome genera after KD treatment. The SCFA content in the fecal after 6 months of KD treatment increased and was highly correlated with the gut bacteria. SIGNIFICANCES: Dysbiosis of the microbiome could be involved in the pathogenesis of DRE in children, which can be relieved by a KD to a large extent. Gut microbiota and microbial metabolism could contribute to the antiseizure effect of KD.

Telomere is a specialized DNA-protein complex that plays an important role in maintaining chromosomal integrity. Shelterin is a protein complex formed by six different proteins, with telomeric repeat factors 1 (TRF1) and 2 (TRF2) binding to double-strand telomeric DNA. Telomeric DNA consists of complementary G-rich and C-rich repeats, which could form G-quadruplex and intercalated motif (i-motif), respectively, during cell cycle. Its G-rich transcription product, telomeric repeat-containing RNA (TERRA), is essential for telomere stability and heterochromatin formation. After extensive screening, we found that acridine derivative 2c and acridine dimer DI26 could selectively interact with TRF1 and telomeric i-motif, respectively. Compound 2c blocked the binding of TRF1 with telomeric duplex DNA, resulting in up-regulation of TERRA. Accumulated TERRA could bind with TRF1 at its allosteric site and further destabilize its binding with telomeric DNA. In contrast, DI26 could destabilize telomeric i-motif, resulting in down-regulation of TERRA. Both compounds exhibited anti-tumour activity for A549 cells, but induced different DNA damage pathways. Compound 2c significantly suppressed tumour growth in A549 xenograft mouse model. The function of telomeric i-motif structure was first studied with a selective binding ligand, which could play an important role in regulating TERRA transcription. Our results showed that appropriate level of TERRA transcript could be important for stability of telomere, and acridine derivatives could be further developed as anti-cancer agents targeting telomere. This research increased understanding for biological roles of telomeric i-motif, TRF1 and TERRA, as potential anti-cancer drug targets.

Background: Jiawei Shengjiang Powder (JWSJP) is a classical Chinese medicinal formula, which has been widely applied in the treatment of asthma and complications for many years due to its curative effect. Aim: To verify the effect of JWSJP in improving abnormal sperm motility caused by asthma and to explore its potential mechanism. Materials and Methods: The active compounds of JWSJP were obtained from high performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry and the Traditional Chinese Medicine System Pharmacology. The key active components and targets of JWSJP were predicted based on network pharmacological analysis and bioinformatics research. Rats were randomly divided into normal, model and treatment groups. The rat model of allergic asthma was induced by intraperitoneal injection of ovalbumin solution. The experiment judged improvement of semen quality by evaluating sperm motility, and detected the expression of related proteins in testicular tissue of Sprague-Dawley rats by RT-qPCR and Western blot methods. Hematoxylin and eosin (HE) staining was used to observe the changes in testicular tissue structure in rats. Results: Through the analysis of network pharmacology and bioinformatics, it was found that beta-sitosterol, quercetin, gallic acid, pelargonidin and kaempferol were the key active components of Jiawei Shengjiang Powder. Tumor necrosis factor (TNF), interleukin-6 (IL-6) and insulin (INS) genes are crucial targets of JWSJP in the treatment of spermatogenic dysfunction caused by acute asthma. After 8 weeks of intervention, compared with the model group, the treatment group had significantly improved sperm motility (P < 0.05). There were significant differences in TNF, IL6, and INS proteins in the treatment group, and the HE staining of testicular tissue structure in the treatment group was significantly improved. Conclusion: JWSJP can improve the abnormal sperm motility induced by asthma, and its mechanism may be related to the expression of related proteins and mRNA of TNF, IL6, and INS.

Chronic social defeat stress (CSDS) is widely applied to study of depression in rodents. 10-day CSDS was a most commonly employed paradigm but with high resilience ratio (∼30%), producing potential variation in depression-like behavioral symptoms. Whether prolonged period (21 days) of CSDS would promote less resilience and reduce behavioral variability remains unknown. We applied 10-day and 21-day CSDS paradigms to induce mouse model of depression and compared their resilience ratio and behavioral phenotypes. Mice under 21-day CSDS had significantly lower resilience ratio and greater changes in behavioral indicators relative to mice under 10-day CSDS. Behavioral indicators from 21-day CSDS paradigm had higher correlations and better prediction for susceptibility which indicating higher uniformity in behavioral phenotypes. Furthermore, a subset of behavioral indicators in 21-day CSDS had high prediction efficacy and should be first applied to screen susceptibility of CSDS. Thus, our study demonstrates that 21-day CSDS is a more robust paradigm inducing reliable depression-like behaviors relative to 10-day CSDS, and should be preferentially used in rodent studies of depression.

OBJECTIVE: To study the factors associated with relapse and functional outcomes in patients with anti-NMDA receptor encephalitis in Western China. METHODS: The Outcome of the anti-NMDA receptor Encephalitis Study in Western China was initiated in October 2011 to collect prospective observational data from consecutively enrolled patients with anti-NMDA receptor encephalitis. RESULTS: We consecutively enrolled 244 patients (median age: 26 years, range: 9-78 years; females: 128 [52.45%]) between October 2011 and September 2019. Fatality occurred in 17 (6.96%) patients, and tumors were found in 38 (15.57%) patients. The median follow-up duration was 40 (6-96) months. Of these patients, 84.8% showed clinical improvements within 4 weeks after immunotherapy, with a median modified Rankin Scale of 2 (interquartile range [IQR]: 2-3), and 80.7% (median: 1, IQR: 0-2) and 85.7% (median: 0, IQR: 0-1) had substantial recovery (i.e., mild or no residual symptoms) at 12 and 24 months, respectively. The overall prognosis was still improving at 42 months after onset. Disturbance of consciousness during the first month was the only independent predictor (OR: 2.91, 95% CI: 1.27-6.65; p = 0.01) of a poor functional neurologic outcome. Overall, 15.9% of the patients had one or multiple relapses, with 82.0% experiencing the first relapse within 24 months and 76.9% experiencing relapses that were less severe than the initial episodes. Relapse-related risk factors included the female sex and delayed treatment (p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Most patients achieved favorable long-term functional outcomes. Some patients experienced one or multiple relapses, especially female patients. Timely immunotherapy at onset may reduce the risk of relapse.

Enlarged perivascular spaces (EPVS) are widely considered as a feature of cerebral small vessel diseases (SVD), but its underlying pathology is still under active investigation. The aim of this study was to explore the association between hemoglobin level and the severity of EPVS. Consecutive patients with acute ischemic stroke who underwent baseline MRI scan and hemoglobin testing were evaluated. EPVS in basal ganglia (BG) and central semiovale (CS) were rated with a validated 4-point semiquantitative scale (0 = none; 1 = 1-10; 2 = 11-20; 3 = 21-40; and 4 ≥ 40). Bivariate logistic regression models were used to identify the associations of hemoglobin with predefined high-degree (score > 1) CS-EPVS and BG-EPVS. Multinomial logistic regression models were used to analyze the associations between hemoglobin and CS-/BG-EPVS predominance patterns. A total of 401 patients were included in the final analysis, 94 patients (23.4%) had a high degree of CS-EPVS and 45 patients (11.2%) had a high degree of BG-EPVS. Compared with tertile 1 of hemoglobin, tertile 3 of hemoglobin was independently associated with high degree of CS-EPVS after adjusting for other features of SVD (odds ratio [OR] 2.399, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.315-4.379, P = 0.004) and potential confounding factors (OR 2.611, 95% CI 1.346-5.066, P = 0.005). In multinomial logistic regression models, compared with tertile 1 of hemoglobin, tertile 2 (OR 2.463, 95% CI 1.195-5.075, P = 0.015) and tertile 3 (OR 2.625, 95% CI 1.102-6.251, P = 0.029) of hemoglobin were associated with higher odds of BG-EPVS = CS-EPVS pattern, and tertile 3 of hemoglobin (OR 2.576, 95% CI 1.004-6.608, P = 0.049) was associated with higher odds of BG-EPVS < CS-EPVS pattern. Elevated hemoglobin level was independently associated with high degree of CS-EPVS and higher odds of CS-EPVS predominance pattern, but not with BG-EPVS, which support that the topography of EPVS is characteristic. However, the pathogenesis linking hemoglobin and CS-EPVS is unclear and still needs further investigation.

Upregulation of platelet-derived growth factor receptor ß (PDGFR-ß) has been found to be associated with development of various types of cancers, which has become an attractive target for anti-tumor treatment. Previously, we have synthesized and studied an acridone derivative B19, which can selectively bind to and stabilize oncogene c-myc promoter i-motif, resulting in down-regulation of c-myc transcription and translation, however its effect on tumor cells apoptosis requires improvement. In the present study, we synthesized a variety of B19 derivatives containing a known anti-cancer fluorescent chromophore naphthalimide for the purpose of enhancing anti-cancer activity. After screening, we found that acridone-naphthalimide derivative WZZ02 could selectively stabilize PDGFR-ß promoter G-quadruplex and destabilize its corresponding i-motif structure, without significant interaction to other oncogenes promoter G-quadruplex and i-motif. WZZ02 down-regulated PDGFR-ß gene transcription and translation in a dose-dependent manner, possibly due to above interactions. WZZ02 could significantly inhibit cancer cell proliferation, and induce cell apoptosis and cycle arrest. WZZ02 exhibited tumor growth inhibition activity in MCF-7 xenograft tumor model, which could be due to its binding interactions with PDGFR-ß promoter G-quadruplex and i-motif. Our results suggested that WZZ02 as a dual G-quadruplex/i-motif binder could be effective on both oncogene replication and transcription, which could become a promising lead compound for further development with improved potency and selectivity. The wide properties for the derivatives of 1,8-naphthalimide could facilitate further in-depth mechanistic studies of WZZ02 through various fluorescent physical and chemical methods, which could help to further understand the function of PDGFR-ß gene promoter G-quadruplex and i-motif.

Tibetan sheep is one of primitive Chinese sheep breeds, which achieved the divergence about 2500 years ago in Qinghai plateau region. According to different geographic conditions, especially altitudes, Tibetan sheep evolved into different breeds. In this study, we performed whole genome resequencing of 5 representative Tibetan sheep breeds. Comparative genomic analysis showed that they can be divided into different clades with a close genetic relationship. However, some genes with common selective regions were enriched for hypoxic adaptability in different breeds living at higher altitude, including GHR, BMP15, and CPLANE1. Furthermore, breed-specific selective regions about physical characteristics, especially wool growth, were found in genes such as BSND, USP24, NCAPG, and LCORL. This study could contribute to our understanding about trait formation and offer a reference for breeding of Tibetan sheep.

DNAzyme-based gene therapy holds immense prospects for effectively treating severe diseases, yet is constrained with inefficient delivery and unconditional activation. Herein, we designed a bioinspired self-catabolic DNA nanocapsule for sustaining tumor-specific cascade activation of therapeutic DNAzyme. The exquisite DNAzyme was temporarily masked by the self-excising DNAzyme in the hierarchical rolling circle replication (RCR) nanostructures, thus stayed in an inactive state in physiological fluids. Through the multivalent tumor-anchoring aptamer strands, the RCR nanocapsule was specifically accumulated in cancer cells and was sequentially activated for motivating the ultimate DNAzyme-mediated gene silencing via the intelligent stimuli-responsive cascade DNAzyme activation. By virtue of the programmable RCR assembly strategy, our compact DNAzyme nanoplatform shows great promise for developing versatile smart gene therapeutics and personalized nanomedicines.

While the precise design of catalysts is one of ultimate goals in catalysis, practical strategies often fall short, especially for complicated photocatalytic processes. Here, taking the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) as an example, we introduce a theoretical approach for designing robust metal cocatalysts supported on TiO2 using density functional theory calculations adopting on-site Coulomb correction and/or hybrid functionals. The approach starts with clarifying the individual function of each metal layer of metal/TiO2 composites in photocatalytic HER, covering both the electron transfer and surface catalysis aspects, followed by conducting a function-oriented optimization via exploring competent candidates. With this approach, we successfully determine and verify bimetallic Pt/Rh/TiO2 and Pt/Cu/TiO2 catalysts to be robust substitutes for conventional Pt/TiO2. The right metal type as well as the proper stacking sequence are demonstrated to be key to boosting performance. Moreover, we tentatively identify the tunneling barrier height as an effective descriptor for the important electron transfer process in photocatalysis on metal/oxide catalysts. We believe that this study pushes forward the frontier of photocatalyst design towards higher water splitting efficiency.

This longitudinal study examined the developmental trajectories of internalizing and externalizing problems, as well as the moderating role of children's locus of control on the relations between traditional and cyberbullying victimization and developmental trajectories of internalizing and externalizing problems. A total of 4180 Chinese elementary school students (Mage = 9.90 years) completed measures of bullying victimization (Time 1), locus of control (Time 1), internalizing and externalizing problems (from Time 1 to Time 5, 6-month intervals). Latent growth curve analyses indicated (a) internalizing problems first gradually decreased and then increased across time, whereas externalizing problems decreased slowly and remained steady over time; (b) both traditional and cyberbullying victimization served as risk factors for internalizing and externalizing problems; however, the effects of traditional bullying victimization on internalizing and externalizing problems were stronger than those for cyberbullying victimization; (c) locus of control moderated the relations between traditional bullying victimization and developmental trajectories of internalizing and externalizing problems. Consistent with cognitive diathesis-stress models, children who experienced higher levels of traditional bullying victimization and reported an external locus of control were more likely to experience internalizing and externalizing problems. This study also identified meaningful gender differences. Implications for the prevention of behavior problems were discussed.

Long-term cognitive and neuropsychiatric outcomes of anti-gamma-aminobutyric-acid B receptor (anti-GABABR) encephalitis are unclear. In this prospective study, 31 patients with anti-GABABR encephalitis were underwent cognitive and neuropsychiatric evaluations every 6 months. At 24 months' follow-up, cognitive impairments were observed in 80% of patients that mainly included deficits in memory, executive functions and nonverbal reasoning; and neuropsychiatric symptoms were observed in 50% of patients that mainly included depressive symptoms and irritation. The risk factors associated with cognitive deficits was age > 45 years. This study demonstrated that most patients with anti-GABABR encephalitis had persistent cognitive deficits and neuropsychiatric symptoms.
