RESUMO

Metanteon poirieri sp. nov. (Hymenoptera: Dryinidae: Anteoninae) is described from New Caledonia. The genus Metanteon Olmi, 1984, was known only from the southern region of Argentina and Chile. The unique species attributed previously to this genus is M. aerias (Walker, 1839), collected in Chile by Charles Darwin during his famous trip on the HMS Beagle. M. aerias is associated only with leafhoppers feeding on Southern Beeches (Nothofagus spp.), a genus of Nothofagaceae including species of trees and shrubs native to the southern Hemisphere in southern South America (Argentina, Chile) and Australasia (east and southeast Australia, New Zealand, New Guinea and New Caledonia). Like Nothofagus, Metanteon is a transantarctic organism.

RESUMO

A new species of Dryinus Latreille, 1804, is described from Georgia (USA). D. georgianus sp. nov. is morphologically similar to D. mexicanus (Perkins, 1907) and D. splendidus Guglielmino and Olmi, 2013, but is distinguished by the lateral ocelli not touching the occipital carina (in the other two species, the lateral ocelli touch the occipital carina). The key to the females of the Nearctic species of Dryinus group 1 is modified to include the new taxon.

RESUMO

A new species of Gonatopus Ljungh, 1810, G.jaliscanus sp. n., from Jalisco, Mexico, is described and illustrated. In the Neotropical region, G.jaliscanus is similar to G.forestalis Olmi, 1998, but it is distinguished by the black mesosoma (except prothorax, mesoscutum, and mesoscutellum that are yellow), and the metapostnotum being granulated and not rugose; in G.forestalis the mesosoma is completely black and the metapostnotum is granulated and strongly rugose. In the Nearctic region, the new species is morphologically similar to G.curriei Krombein, 1962, but it is distinguished by the dull and granulated metapostonotum; in G.curriei the metapostnotum is shiny and unsculptured. The new species belongs to Gonatopus group 7. The keys to the females of the Nearctic and Neotropical species of this group are modified to include the new taxon.

RESUMO

Gonadryinus bicarinatus Olmi, Marletta, Guglielmino & Speranza, sp. nov., from Ranomafana National Park (Fianarantsoa Province, Madagascar) is described and illustrated. This represents the first record of Gonadryinus from the Afrotropical region. The genus was previously known only from the Neotropical region, where only one species, G. hansoni Olmi, 1991, is recorded. The new taxon is different from G. hansoni because of the palpal formula 5/3 (4/2 in G. hansoni), the occipital carina complete (incomplete in G. hansoni) and two longitudinal keels present on the dorsal surface of the metapectal-propodeal complex (no longitudinal keels in G. hansoni).

RESUMO

A new species of Anteon Jurine, 1807 is described from Laos, Houaphanh Province: Anteon holzschuhi sp. n. Morphologically the new species is similar to Anteon semipolitum Olmi, 2008, but it is distinguished by the sculpture of the face partly reticulate rugose and partly with deep punctures similar to areolae; in Anteon semipolitum the face is completely punctate and unsculptured among punctures. In addition, in the new species the distance from the outer edge of a lateral ocellus to the compound eye (OOL) is about 3.3 times as long as the distance between the inner edges of a lateral ocellus and the median ocellus (OL); in Anteon semipolitum OOL is less than twice as long as OL. Published identification keys to the Oriental species of Anteon are modified to include the new species.

RESUMO

A revision of the subfamilies Errhomeninae and Aphrodinae in Italy is presented. Two new species, Anoscopus gorloppus and Anoscopus carlebippus, and one new subspecies Anoscopus albifrons mappus are described. Anoscopus dubius Gebicki & Bednarzyk is established as subspecies of Anoscopus flavostriatus (Donovan) (stat. nov.), Aphrodes siracusae (Matsumura) is transferred to the genus Anoscopus (comb. nov.). Anoscopus samuricus Tshmir is recorded in Italy for the first time. Information concerning ecology and regional distribution is given for all taxa present in Italy. Genital morphology and variability of colouration are figured for many taxa. A morphometric analysis based on measurements of aedeagus and body is conducted for the taxa of the Aphrodes bicincta group. Keys for the Italian species of Aphrodes and Anoscopus are given. Distribution and specific characters of Anoscopus assimilis (Signoret) and Anoscopus alpinus (Wagner) are presented. Differences between Italian populations and conspecific ones in other European regions, and reasons for the particularly high variability in the Alpine areas of Italy are discussed. A list of 19 species and two subspecies, presently recorded from Italy is given.

RESUMO

Seven species of Embolemidae are recognized in Japan. They belong to two genera: Embolemus Westwood 1833 and Trogloembolemus Olmi, Mita et Guglielmino, gen. nov. (type species T. fujiei Olmi, Mita et Guglielmino, sp. nov.) Embolemus honshuensis Olmi, Mita et Guglielmino, sp. nov. (Japan, Honshu) and Trogloembolemus fujiei Olmi, Mita & Guglielmino, sp. nov. (Japan, Honshu) are described and figured. A key to the genera and species of Japan is presented. Trogloembolemus fujiei sp. nov., collected in the soil at a depth of two metres and almost blind, is the first species of Embolemidae with troglobitic habitus.

RESUMO

The mature larva of Ampulicomorpha schajovskoyi De Santis & Vidal Sarmiento, 1977, is described and figured for the first time. Larval characters of Dryinidae and Embolemidae are discussed in regard to possible synapomorphies of each family and of both families together (Dryinidae + Embolemidae) as monophyletic groups. Some larval characters are compared with the corresponding conditions in other Chrysidoidea families.
