RESUMO

We report constraints on the dark photon effective kinetic mixing parameter (κ) with data taken from two p-type point-contact germanium detectors of the CDEX-10 experiment at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory. The 90% confidence level upper limits on κ of solar dark photon from 205.4 kg-day exposure are derived, probing new parameter space with masses (m_{V}) from 10 to 300 eV/c^{2} in direct detection experiments. Considering dark photon as the cosmological dark matter, limits at 90% confidence level with m_{V} from 0.1 to 4.0 keV/c^{2} are set from 449.6 kg-day data, with a minimum of κ=1.3×10^{-15} at m_{V}=200 eV/c^{2}.

RESUMO

Objective: The aim of the study was to investigate the correlation between blood pressure response to cold pressor test (CPT) and follow-up blood pressure after 8 years in subjects, and to evaluate the predictive value of CPT for long-term blood pressure levels. Methods: A total of 365 individuals from eight natural villages were enrolled by stratified cluster sampling from Mei County, Shaanxi Province in 2004. Baseline characteristics of subjects were collected and CPTs were conducted. Subjects were followed up in 2009 and 2012, respectively. According to the maximal change of systolic response (SR), the area under the curve (AUC) of systolic blood pressure change (AUC-SBP), the maximal change of diastolic response (DR) and the AUC of diastolic blood pressure change (AUC-DBP) in CPT, the individuals were divided into four quartile groups by above parameters, respectively: group Ⅰ (P(25)), group Ⅱ (P(50)), group Ⅲ (P(75)) and group Ⅳ (P(100)). The correlation between blood pressure response to CPT and the follow-up blood pressure was analyzed. Results: (1) There were no significant differences in baseline blood pressure levels and prevalence of hypertension among four quartile groups no matter it was grouped on SR, DR, AUC-SBP or AUC-DBP. (2) The prevalence of hypertension in each group from lowest (P(25)) to highest (P(100)) in 2012 was 25.64%, 30.67%, 38.03%, 55.74% on SR grouping (P<0.01), and 27.5%, 29.17%, 38.46%, 57.35% on AUC-SBP grouping (P<0.05), respectively. (3) There were no significant differences in the prevalence of hypertension among four groups in 2012 (P>0.05) either on DR or on AUC-DBP grouping. (4) The random effects model analysis showed that the correlation coefficient between SR, AUC-SBP and long-term systolic blood pressure increase were 1.91 (P<0.05) and 1.44 (P<0.05), respectively, and the correlation coefficient between DR, AUC-DBP and long-term diastolic blood pressure increase were 0.82 (P<0.05) and 0.78 (P>0.05), respectively. Age, male, body mass index, and fasting blood glucose were independent risk factors for long-term blood pressure elevation, and age, body mass index and fasting blood glucose positively correlated with changes in long-term blood pressure (all P<0.05). Conclusion: Individual systolic blood pressure response to CPT can be used as a predictor of long-term hypertension.

RESUMO

Objective: To raise awareness about 2019 novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP) and reduce missed diagnosis rate and misdiagnosis rate by comparing the clinical characteristics between RNA positive and negative patients clinically diagnosed with NCP. Methods: From January 2020 to February 2020, 54 patients who were newly diagnosed with NCP in Wuhan Fourth Hospital were included in this study. RT-PCR method was used to measure the level of 2019-nCov RNA in pharyngeal swab samples of these patients. The patients were divided into RNA positive and negative group, and the differences of clinical, laboratory, and radiological characteristics were compared. Results: There were 31 RNA of 2019-nCov positive cases, and 23 negative cases. Common clinical symptoms of two groups were fever (80.64% vs. 86.96%) , chills (61.29% vs.52.17%) , cough (80.64% vs.95.65%) , fatigue (61.30% vs.56.52%) , chest distress (77.42% vs.73.91%) . Some other symptoms were headache, myalgia, dyspnea, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. The laboratory and radiological characteristics of two groups mainly were lymphopenia, increased erythrocyte sedimentation rate, increased C-reactive protein, increased lactate dehydrogenase, decreased oxygenation index, normal white blood cell count and bilateral chest CT involvement. There was no statistically significant difference in other clinical characteristics except for dyspnea between two groups. Conclusions: RNA positive and negative NCP patients shared similar clinical symptoms, while RNA positive NCP patients tended to have dyspnea. Therefore, we should improve the understanding of NCP to prevent missed diagnosis and misdiagnosis; In addition, more rapid and accurate NCP diagnostic approaches should be further developed.

RESUMO

Objective: To evaluate the feasibility and short-term efficacy of a novel and simplified closure method developed by our team for the defect closure after endoscopic full-thickness resection (EFTR) for gastric submucosal tumors (SMT) in the gastric wall. Methods: A prospective single-arm clinical study was used. Inclusion criteria: (1) the lesion was located in the fundus or the greater curvature of the stomach, and was confirmed to originate from the muscularis propria layer; (2) the diameter of the tumor was ≤3.5 cm, and the tumor had no extensive adhesion to the peritoneal tissues and organs in extraperitoneal cavity; (3) the tumor had no malignant features under ultrasound endoscopy; (4) the patient agreed to participate in the study; (5) patients with severe complications were excluded. Based on the above criteria, 20 patients with gastric SMT at the Endoscopy Center of Zhongshan Hospital of Fudan University from January 2015 to March 2018 were enrolled in this study, including 5 males and 15 females with mean age of 61.1 (38 to 70) years. Grasping forceps-assisted endo-loop snare ligation device which is called "Shao-Mai" method was used to close the defect site. All the patients underwent EFTR and "Shao-Mai" method to perform defect closure. After successful tumor resection by EFTR, an endo-loop was anchored onto the edge of the gastric defect with grasping forceps assistance and closed tightly. The observation indicators included tumor size, en bloc resection, operation time, postoperative complications and hospital stay. The follow-up indicators included tumor residual, local recurrence, and metachronous lesions. Results: All the 20 lesions were located in the muscularis propria with a size of 0.5-3.5 (mean 1.4) cm. Three of them were located in the greater curvature of the mid-upper gastric body, 17 were located in the fundus. The endoscopic "Shao-Mai" closure was successfully performed after EFTR in all the 20 cases. Endoscope was used uniquely through the entire process, without laparoscopic assistance. The operative time was 20-100 (mean 43.8) minutes, while the "Shao-Mai" closure procedure took a range of 3-30 (mean 10.1) minutes. The en bloc resection rate was 100%. The pathological diagnosis included 17 gastrointestinal stromal tumors and 3 leiomyomas. No major complications occurred during or after surgery. All the patients were discharged 1-11 (mean 3.1) days after operation. The wounds of all the cases were healed completely six months after operation and only scar was observed without ulcer. No residual lesion, tumor recurrence or metastasis, leakage or fistula of digestive tract were found during the follow-up period of 15-54 (median 41) months. Conclusion: The endoscopic "Shao-Mai" closure method is a simplified novel way, which is feasible, effective, and safe for closing the gastric defect after EFTR.

RESUMO

We present results on light weakly interacting massive particle (WIMP) searches with annual modulation (AM) analysis on data from a 1-kg mass p-type point-contact germanium detector of the CDEX-1B experiment at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory. Datasets with a total live time of 3.2 yr within a 4.2-yr span are analyzed with analysis threshold of 250 eVee. Limits on WIMP-nucleus (χ-N) spin-independent cross sections as function of WIMP mass (m_{χ}) at 90% confidence level (C.L.) are derived using the dark matter halo model. Within the context of the standard halo model, the 90% C.L. allowed regions implied by the DAMA/LIBRA and CoGeNT AM-based analysis are excluded at >99.99% and 98% C.L., respectively. These results correspond to the best sensitivity at m_{χ}<6 GeV/c^{2} among WIMP AM measurements to date.

RESUMO

We report results on the searches of weakly interacting massive particles (WIMPs) with sub-GeV masses (m_{χ}) via WIMP-nucleus spin-independent scattering with Migdal effect incorporated. Analysis on time-integrated (TI) and annual modulation (AM) effects on CDEX-1B data are performed, with 737.1 kg day exposure and 160 eVee threshold for TI analysis, and 1107.5 kg day exposure and 250 eVee threshold for AM analysis. The sensitive windows in m_{χ} are expanded by an order of magnitude to lower DM masses with Migdal effect incorporated. New limits on σ_{χN}^{SI} at 90% confidence level are derived as 2×10^{-32}∼7×10^{-35} cm^{2} for TI analysis at m_{χ}∼50-180 MeV/c^{2}, and 3×10^{-32}∼9×10^{-38} cm^{2} for AM analysis at m_{χ}∼75 MeV/c^{2}-3.0 GeV/c^{2}.

RESUMO

Objective: To evaluate the clinical value of dual channel dual curved endoscope in the endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) for gastric angle mucosal lesions. Methods: A descriptive cohort study was carried out. Clinicopathological data of 20 cases with gastric angle mucosal lesions undergoing ESD by dual channel dual curved endoscope in our center from October 2016 to August 2018 were collected and analyzed retrospectively. Inclusion criteria: (1) the lesion was located in the gastric angle confirmed by gastroscopy before ESD. (2) CT examination showed no distant metastasis. (3) pathological biopsy confirmed precancerous lesion or early cancerous lesion without submucosal invasion. (4) the whole operation was performed by the same endoscopist with ESD experience of about 2000 cases. Patients with previous ESD history of gastric angle and other serious diseases were excluded. The dual channel dual curved endoscopy (Olympus, GIF-2TQ260M) and other conventional endoscopic surgical instruments were used in all the cases. Complete tumor resection rate, pathological results, intraoperative and postoperative complications, operation time and hospitalization time were observed. Follow - up parameters included residual tumor, local recurrence and heterogeneous lesion. Results: Of 20 patients, 14 were male and 6 were female with an average of 55.6 years (range, 37 to 75). All the tumors located in gastric angle. Specimen size ranged from 1.2 to 5.5 (average 2.9) cm. Operation time ranged from 50 to 120 (average 85.8) minutes. Hospital stay ranged from 3 to 7 (average 5.1) days. The en bloc excision was performed successfully in all 20 cases. There was no perforation or bleeding during or after operation. Pathological results showed curative or nearly curative resection stage in all the cases. No tumor residual or recurrence was found during follow-up for 8 to 30 (average 18.5) months. Conclusion: Dual channel dual curved endoscope can provide good vision and easy control in removing the lesion completely and avoiding complications during the ESD procedure in gastric angle mucosal lesions with good long-term efficacy.

RESUMO

To evaluate the effects of maternal undernutrition on the performance, blood biochemical indexes, and hormone levels of broiler chicks, two broiler breeder lines (a fat line and lean line) were given either 100% or 75% of the daily feed intake recommended by the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture from 27 to 54 wk. All hens were fed the same basal corn-soybean diet. Fertile eggs were collected and hatched. All chicks were fed the same basal diet for 56 d. Then, chick performance, blood biochemical indexes, and hormone levels were measured. The results showed that there were interactions between maternal nutrition and line for some parameters, such as the kidney index, glucose, triglyceride, insulin, glucagon, leptin, and triiodothyronine (P < 0.05). Chicks of the fat line had a lower level of serum glucose, triglyceride, albumin, glutamic-pyruvic transaminase, insulin, and thyroxin than those of the lean line (P < 0.05), but the opposite trend was seen for birth weight, heart index, leptin, and triiodothyronine (P < 0.05). Maternal undernutrition decreased the birth weight and thymus index (day 28) of offspring (P < 0.05), but these effects disappeared by day 56. Maternal undernutrition decreased glucose (day 28), urea nitrogen (day 56), creatinine (day 56), glutamic-pyruvic transaminase (day 56), creatinine kinase (day 56), and leptin (day 56) levels in the offspring's serum (P < 0.05) but increased creatinine (day 28), total protein (day 28), glutamic-pyruvic transaminase (day 28), and glucagon (day 28) levels (P < 0.05). In conclusion, different lines have different metabolic processes. Maternal nutrition restriction during the laying period did have effects on the offspring, and the compensation by offspring reduced the effect of maternal nutrition restriction.

RESUMO

Objective: To analyze the efficacy of recombinant activated factor Ⅶ a (rF Ⅶ a) on hematonosis with moderate or severe bleeding signs. Methods: Of total 16 cases with rF Ⅶ a treatment from May 2013 to May 2016, 8 cases received allogeneic hematopoietic stem cells transplantation (allo-HSCT) and the other were non-transplantation patients. In two groups, there was no significant difference on rF Ⅶ a usage and dosage. 15 patients with acute graft-versus-host disease (aGVHD) after allo-HSCT were control group (without rF Ⅶ a) . Results: ①The total response rate was 75.0% (6/8) in non-transplantation group and 37.5% (3/8) in transplantation group, respectively. Median interval for hemorrhage stop was 38.5 hours in non-transplantation group and 63.0 hours in transplantation group. The median overall survival (OS) was 201.0 and 29.0 days for non-transplantation group and transplantation group, respectively, and the OS rate was 50.0% (4/8) and 25.0% (2/8) , respectively. The bleeding-related mortality rate was 50.0% (2/4) and 83.3% (5/6) , respectively. ②Of the 16 cases, 9 showed response to rF Ⅶ a treatment and the other 7 cases'bleeding signs did not alleviate. The median OS was 268.0 in 9 cases with response and 24.0 days in 7 cases without response, respectively. ③In patients with intestinal aGVHD complicated with intestinal hemorrhage, the median OS of observation group (n=6) and control group (n=15) were 25.5 days and 20.0 days, respectively. Conclusion: Patients with hematological diseases, especially patients after allo-HSCT, had high bleeding-related mortality, and rFⅦa therapy had a obvious hemostatic efficacy. The survival rate of patients with response was higher than that of cases without response. The causes of poor hemostasis efficacy of rF Ⅶ a therapy were associated with unsatisfactory control of complications in patients with intestinal bleeding after allo-HSCT.

RESUMO

Objective: To investigate the method of portable gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy (GC-MS) for the determination of common volatile organic compounds in air. Methods: The static volumetric method was used, with highly purified nitrogen gas as the diluents gas, to prepare the mixed standard gas of common volatile organic compounds with various mass concentrations. A portable GC-MS handheld probe was used for sampling and measurement, retention time and characteristic ion were used for qualitative analysis, and the full-scan mode was used for quantitative analysis. Results: The correlation coefficient of 12 volatile organic compounds determined by this method was higher than 0.999. The minimum detection mass concentration was 0.02~0.12 mg/m3, and the minimum quantitative mass concentration was 0.07~0.40 mg/m3. The relative standard deviation of precision was 4.10%~12.50%; the relative deviation of acetone, benzene, methylbenzene, and dimethylbenzene was-13.56% , 9.03% , -10.82% , and 8.67% , respectively. Conclusion: Portable GC-MS method can be used for the qualitative analysis and quantification of volatile organic compounds in occupational hazard factors and provide technical supports for identification of occupational hazard factors.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: In recent years, submucosal tunneling endoscopic resection (STER) was applied more and more often for single gastrointestinal (GI) submucosal tumor (SMT). However, little is known about this technique for treating multiple SMTs in GI tract. In the present study, we investigated the feasibility and outcome of STER for upper GI multiple SMTs originating from the muscularis propria (MP) layer. PATIENTS AND METHODS: A feasibility study was carried out including a consecutive cohort of 23 patients with multiple SMTs from MP layer in esophagus, cardia, and upper corpus who were treated by STER from June 2011 to June 2014. Clinicopathological, demographic, and endoscopic data were collected and analyzed. RESULTS: All of the 49 SMTs were resected completely by STER technique. Furthermore, only one tunnel was built for multiple SMTs of each patient in this study. En bloc resection was achieved in all 49 tumors. The median size of all the resected tumors was 1.5 cm (range 0.8-3.5 cm). The pathological results showed that all the tumors were leiomyoma, and the margins of the resected specimens were negative. The median procedure time was 40 min (range: 20-75 min). Gas-related complications were of the main complications, the rates of subcutaneous emphysema and pneumomediastinum, pneumothorax, and pneumoperitoneum were 13.0%, 8.7% and 4.3%. Another common complication was thoracic effusion that occurred in 2 cases (8.7%), among which only 1 case (4.3%) with low-grade fever got the drainage. Delayed bleeding, esophageal fistula or hematocele, and infection in tunnel were not detected after the operation there were no treatment-related deaths. The median hospital stay was 4 days (range, 2-9 days). No residual or recurrent lesion was found during the follow-up period (median 18, ranging 3-36 months). CONCLUSION: Submucosal tunneling endoscopic resection is a safe and efficient technique for treating multiple esophageal SMTs originating from MP layer, which can avoid patients suffering repeated resections.

RESUMO

Tyrosinase, encoded by the TYR gene, is the rate-limiting enzyme in the production of melanin pigment. In this study, plumage color separation was observed in Cherry Valley duck line D and F1 and F2 hybrid generations of Liancheng white ducks. Gene sequencing and bioinformatic analysis were applied to the 5'-regulatory region of TYR, to explore the connection between TYR sequence variation and duck plumage color. Four SNPs were found in the 5'-regulatory region. The SNPs were in tight linkage and formed three haplotypes. However, the genotype distribution in groups with different plumage color was not significantly different, and there were no changes in the transcription factor binding sites between the different genotypes. In conclusion, these SNP variations may not cause the differences in feather color observed in this test group.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND AND STUDY AIMS: Recurrence/persistence of symptoms occurs in approximately 20 % of patients after Heller myotomy for achalasia. Controversy exists regarding the therapy for patients in whom Heller myotomy has failed. The aim of the current study was to evaluate the efficacy and feasibility of peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM), a new endoscopic myotomy technique, for patients with failed Heller myotomy. PATIENTS AND METHODS: A total of 12 patients with recurrence/persistence of symptoms after Heller myotomy, as diagnosed by established methods and an Eckardt score of ≥ 4, were prospectively included. The primary outcome was symptom relief during follow-up, defined as an Eckardt score of ≤ 3. Secondary outcomes were procedure-related adverse events, lower esophageal sphincter (LES) pressure on manometry, reflux symptoms, and medication use before and after POEM. RESULTS: All 12 patients underwent successful POEM after a mean of 11.9 years (range 2 - 38 years) from the time of the primary Heller myotomy. No serious complications related to POEM were encountered. During a mean follow-up period of 10.4 months (range 5 - 14 months), treatment success was achieved in 11/12 patients (91.7 %; mean score pre- vs. post-treatment 9.2 vs. 1.3; P < 0.001). Mean LES pressure was 29.4 mmHg pre-treatment and 13.5 mmHg post-treatment (P < 0.001). One patient developed mild reflux symptoms and required intermittent medication with proton pump inhibitors. CONCLUSIONS: POEM seems to be a promising new treatment for failed Heller myotomy resulting in short-term symptom relief in > 90 % of cases. Previous Heller myotomy may make subsequent endoscopic remyotomy more challenging, but does not prevent successful POEM.

RESUMO

1. Broiler breeders are unable to self-regulate feed intake to a level that permits reproductive function and restricted feeding is normal for broiler parent stock. The aim of this study was to determine whether myostatin (MSTN) and myogenin (MYOG) mRNA expression could be altered in relation to differences in body composition of the embryos and the hen's diet. 2. A 2 × 2 factorial experiment was conducted with two dietary intake levels (100% and 75% of nutrition recommendation) and two broiler genotypes (Fat line and Lean line). Hens (384 of each line) were randomly divided at 23 weeks of age into 4 treatments, with each treatment represented by 12 replicates of 16 birds each. The experiment started when the rate of lay reached 5% and continued until 54 weeks of age. 3. There were significant effects of line and dietary intake, and interactions between them on MSTN and MYOG mRNA expression levels in embryonic tissues. The trend in MSTN mRNA expression level over the embryonic period was similar between lines. Low daily feed intake did not alter the trend in MSTN mRNA expression levels in either line, but significantly changed the peak values. MYOG mRNA expression varied by line and over time, with a delay in the Lean line. Low daily feed intake influenced the trend in MYOG mRNA expression levels in both lines and delayed its onset.

RESUMO

The objective of the current research was to investigate the pattern of subcutaneous adipose tissue growth during Peking duck (Anas platyrhynchos) early development and to determine the reasons for regional differences. The morphological characteristics in 5 regions of subcutaneous tissue, including the neck area (NSF), chest area (CSF), lower abdomen area (ASF), back area (BSF), and leg area (LSF), were analyzed by comparing the morphology of the sections, adipocyte volume and number, and lipid content from wk 1 to 8. Moreover, the mRNA expression of several molecular marker genes, including 47-kDa tail interacting protein (TIP47), adipose differentiation-related protein (ADRP), and perilipin, were detected from wk 1 to 8 using quantitative real-time PCR. Our results revealed that the average cell number declined greatly as fattening proceeded (except in the NSF) and changed very little after wk 4 in all 5 regions. In contrast, the average cell volume and triglyceride content per cell increased gradually during early duck growth. The BSF and LSF lipid content had a different pattern of change than the other regions. The NSF, CSF, and ASF regions had the highest lipid content values at all stages, the BSF was intermediate, and the LSF was the lowest at all weeks except wk 3. The highest TIP47 expression level was found in the NSF from wk 1 to 2 and BSF at wk 1. The relative expression level of TIP47 was higher in the CSF than in the ASF and BSF at wk 4, and was higher in the NSF than in the ASF at wk 6. The highest levels of ADRP and perilipin were detected in the LSF. These results suggest that a combination of adipocyte hyperplasia and hypertrophy is mainly responsible for the development of duck adipose tissue before wk 4, after which adipose expansion is accomplished by adipocyte hypertrophy only. Adipocyte hyperplastic and hypertrophic capacity, fat storage capacity, and metabolic activity may be partial explanations for the regional differences during duck growth.
