RESUMO

Developing ultrahigh strength steels that are ductile, fracture resistant, and cost-effective would be attractive for a variety of structural applications. We show that improved fracture resistance in a steel with an ultrahigh yield strength of nearly 2GPa can be achieved by activating delamination toughening coupled with transformation induced plasticity. Delamination toughening associated with intensive but controlled cracking at Mn-enriched prior-austenite grain boundaries normal to the primary fracture surface dramatically improves the overall fracture resistance. As a result, fracture under plane-strain conditions is automatically transformed into a series of fracture processes in "parallel" plane-stress conditions through the thickness. The present "high-strength induced multi-delamination" strategy offers a different pathway to develop engineering materials with ultra-high strength and superior toughness at economical materials cost.

RESUMO

Objective: To investigate the prevalence of asthma among the elderly people in China and to analyze the clinical features, self-management and cognitive level of elderly asthma patients. Methods: According to the multi-stage random cluster sampling methods, a total of 164 215 subjects were visited by a questionnaire in the last epidemiology survey from eight provinces (Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Liaoning, Henan, Shanxi, Jiangsu, Sichuan provinces) and seven regions (north, northeast, southern china, east, south, southwest and northwest) in China from February 2010 to August 2012. 2 034 were diagnosed as asthma. The elderly patients aged ≥65 years were selected from the 2 034 asthma patients. The clinical characteristics, comorbidities, the status of asthma control and self-management and insights of the disease in elderly asthma patients were analyzed. Results: Among the 2 034 asthma patients, 584 (28.7%) were elderly asthmatics aged ≥65 years old and 1 450 (71.3%) were<65 years old. In the elderly asthma group, Early-onset asthma accounted for 439 (75.2%) and 145 (24.8%) were late-onset. The common clinical manifestations of elderly asthma patients were: chest distress 395 (67.6%), wheezing 304 (52.1%), cough 298 (51.0%). Common comorbidities of elderly asthmatics were: chronic obstructive pulmonary disease 144 (24.7%), allergic rhinitis 122(20.9%), gastroesopheal reflux disease (GERD) 114(19.5%), allergic conjunctivitis 86 (14.7%), eczema 82 (14.0%), chronic bronchitis 76 (13.0%). The Asthma Control Test (ACT) scores of elderly asthmatics and non-elderly asthmatics were (18.5±3.2) and (21.7±3.4) respectively. There was a significant difference between the two groups (P=0.042). Of the elderly asthmatics, only 13 (2.2%) patients monitored daily using a peak flow meter. 93 (15.9%) patients aware that asthma was characterized by chronic airway inflammation. 64 (11.0%) asthmatics understood that the treatment goal. Conclusions: The clinical manifestations of elderly asthmatics are atypical, especially paroxysmal wheezing. Asthma in elderly people causes more comorbidities and mortality. The self-management and cognitive level of patients with asthma needs to be improved.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the role of human serum albumin (hsa)_circular (circ)_0000711 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Circular ribonucleic acids (circRNAs) are proven in numerous studies to play crucial role in tumor biology, but their roles in HCC remain unknown to a great extent. PATIENTS AND METHODS: The circRNA expression profile microarray was employed to screen differentially expressed circRNAs in tumor tissues and adjacent tissues from HCC patients, and Reverse Transcription-quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-qPCR) assay was performed for further verification. Next, the target micro RNAs (miRNAs) and their messenger RNAs (mRNAs) of key circRNAs were predicted by bioinformatics software, and a circRNA-miRNA-mRNA regulatory network was constructed. Subsequently, KEGG and GO enrichment analyses were applied to predict the possible biological processes regulated by hsa_circ_0000711 and relevant signaling pathways. The miRNAs playing a key role in the circRNA-miRNA-mRNA regulatory network were then selected as the objects, and their direct binding to hsa_circ_0000711 was confirmed via luciferase reporter gene assay. Thereafter, hsa_circ_0000711 was overexpressed or knocked out, and the biological function of hsa_circ_0000711 was detected by cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) assay, apoptosis detection, and 5-Ethynyl-2'-deoxyuridine (EdU) staining assay in vitro. RESULTS: The results of expression profile screening revealed that there was a significant difference in the expression profile of circRNAs between tumor tissues and adjacent tissues in HCC patients. Based on the circRNA expression profile and RT-qPCR results, the expression level of hsa_circ_0000711 was overtly reduced in HCC tissues. In addition, miR-103a-3p had the highest eigenvector centrality in the circRNA-miRNA-mRNA regulatory network, suggesting that miR-103a-3p is a vital participant in the pathological mechanism of hsa_circ_0000711. The KEGG enrichment analysis results pointed out that the target genes regulated by hsa_circ_0000711 were clearly enriched in the tumor-associated signaling pathways. Besides, the results of GO enrichment analysis demonstrated that the biological processes regulated by hsa_circ_0000711 were mainly related to cell cycle regulation, so cell proliferation might be affected. The results of luciferase reporter gene and RT-qPCR assays showed that hsa_circ_0000711 directly bound to has-miR-103a-3p to serve as a molecular sponge. The results of CCK-8 and EdU staining assays revealed that the proliferation of hepatoma cells in hsa_circ_0000711 overexpression group was evidently enhanced. In addition, it was further found via flow cytometry that the apoptosis rate of cells was significantly raised in hsa_circ_0000711 low-expression group and dramatically declined in hsa_circ_0000711 overexpression group. CONCLUSIONS: Overexpression of hsa_circ_0000711 promoted the proliferation and inhibited the apoptosis of hepatoma cells via targeting has-miR-103a-3p.

RESUMO

Objective: To observe the role of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) TP53 gene mutation in lung cancer associated meningitis. Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on 35 patients diagnosed with lung cancer associated meningitis at the Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University from December 2015 to December 2018.All patients underwent the next-generation sequencing of CSF, and TP53 gene was found to be mutant or wild type, including 23 patients with TP53 mutant type and 12 patients with TP53 wild type. The clinical characteristics, CSF leukocyte, protein, glucose, chloride, Karnofsky performance (KPS) and overall survival were observed. Results: Headache, nausea and vomiting were the main clinical manifestations in both groups. There were no significant differences in CSF pressure, leukocyte, biochemical indicators and KPS between the two groups. The average time from diagnosis of lung cancer to diagnosis of lung cancer associated meningitis in the TP53 mutant group was significantly shorter than that in the TP53 wild type group (5.79 months vs 25.5 months). The median survival time of patients in the TP53 mutant group from lung cancer diagnosis to the observation endpoint was 19.77 months, while it was 88.73 months in the TP53 wild type group, and the difference was statistically significant (P=0.043). Conclusions: Mutation in the tumor suppressor gene TP53 can be detected in the CSF of patients with lung cancer associated meningitis. Patients with such mutation have earlier meningeal metastasis and shorter median survival time.

RESUMO

Objective: To investigate the effects of Paraquat on autophagy level in SH-SY5Y cell and the mechanism of abnormal aggregation of α-synuclein. Methods: Human neuroblastoma cell (SH-SY5Y cell) was used as model of dopaminergic neurons in vitro. The cells were treated with different concentrations of PQ (0, 18.75, 37.5, 75, 150, 300, 600 µmol/L) for 24 hours, and induced by 150 µmol/L PQ for 0, 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, 96 hours to detect the relative survival rate of cells and determine dose/time-effect relationship. The cells were treated with concentration of 0, 75, 150, 300, 600 µmol/L PQ for 24 hours, and induced by 150 µmol/L PQ for different hours to detect intracellular LDH activity. The expression levels of autophagy-related proteins(LC3I, LC3II, Beclin1 , Vps34 and p62) and α-synuclein were detected by Western blot. The gene expression level of α-synuclein was assayed by Real-time quantitative PCR. The expression level of α-synuclein was also evaluated by immunofluorescence. The cells were pretreated with 100 nmol/L autophagy inducer rapamycin (RAPA) for 6 hours. The expression levels of autophagy-related proteins and α-synuclein were detected by Western blot. Results: CCK8 assay showed PQ induced cell survival rate decrease in a time and dose dependent manner; Compared with control group, the activity of LDH in the cell supernatant increased significantly after PQ exposure (P<0.05) ; Western blot analysis showed the ratio of autophagy-related protein LC3II/LC3I, Beclin1 and Vps34 protein expression were significantly lower after PQ treatment while the expression of p62 protein was higher (P<0.05) ; The protein and gene expression of α-synuclein were increased significantly after PQ treatment (P <0.05) ; Immunofluorescence showed the fluorescence intensity of α- synuclein in cells was significantly enhanced (P <0.05) . Compared with PQ group, the expression levels of autophagy-related proteins LC3II/LC3I and Beclin1 were significantly increased whlie α-synuclein protein level was decreased after RAPA induction (P<0.05) . Similarly, the IF result showed the fluorescence signal of α- synuclein significantly decreased after RAPA induction (P<0.05) . Conclusion: Paraquat induced autophagy dysfunction in SH-SY5Y cells, which leads to an abnormal aggregation of α-synuclein.

RESUMO

1. Chicken salmonellosis is a common zoonotic infectious disease transmitted both vertically and horizontally. Avian beta-defensins (gallinacins) play an important role in the innate defence of the host and provide broad-spectrum immunity against multiple pathogens.2. To detect the relationship between immune genes and salmonella carrier status and susceptibility to salmonellosis in chickens, polymorphisms with carrier-state susceptibility to salmonella and, hence, developing salmonellosis, were investigated in three avian beta-defensin genes (AvBD4, AvBD5, and AvBD14) in a Chinese local chicken breed, based on a case-control study.3. Fifteen, twenty and nineteen SNPs were found in AvBD4, AvBD5 and AvBD14, respectively. Among the 54 total SNPs, four resulted in non-synonymous substitution of amino acid changes. Five SNPs in AvBD5 and four SNPs in AvBD14 were significantly associated with salmonellosis susceptibility (P < 0.05). Using the PHASE program, thirteen, ten and twelve major haplotypes were constructed in AvBD4, AvBD5 and AvBD14. Logistic regression analysis revealed that five haplotypes in AvBD5 and six haplotypes in AvBD14 were significantly associated with salmonellosis susceptibility, but no significant haplotype in AvBD4 was detected. A total of six strongly susceptible haplotypes with odds ratio (OR) values greater than 2.0 and four strongly resistant haplotypes with OR value less than 0.5 were revealed in the three genes examined.4. These results suggested that the AvBD5 and AvBD14 genes may play an important role in the susceptibility to salmonellosis in chickens.

Objective: To investigate the clinical characteristics and risk factors of severe bronchial asthma in Chinese people over 14 years old. Methods: According to the multi-stage random cluster sampling methods, a total of 164 215 subjects were visited by a questionnaire in the epidemiology survey from eight provinces (Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Liaoning, Henan, Shanxi, Jiangsu, Sichuan provinces) located in seven regions (north, northeast, east, central China, south, southwest and northwest) of China from February 2010 to August 2012. A total of 2 034 were diagnosed as asthma. The clinical characteristics and related risk factors of patients with severe asthma in China were analyzed. Results: Among all asthma patients, 560 were newly diagnosed, accounting for 27.5% (560/2 034) and the percentage of previously confirmed patients was 72.5% (1 474/2 034). A total of 145 were eligible for severe asthma, accounting for 9.8% (145/1 474) of previously confirmed asthmatics and 7.1% (145/2 034) of all asthmatics. 83.5% (121/145) severe asthmatics had at least one trigger factor. Correlation analysis showed that the risk factors of severe asthma were: smoking (OR=1.543, 95%CI: 1.250-1.814), obesity (OR=2.186, 95%CI: 1.972-2.354), petting (OR=2.135, 95%CI: 1.904-2.283), combined with allergic rhinitis (OR=3.456, 95%CI: 2.721-4.326), gastroesophageal reflux disease (OR=1.842, 95%CI: 1.682-2.140), bronchiectasis (OR=1.665, 95%CI: 1.347-1.912) or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (OR=1.312, 95%CI: 1.171-1.694). Conclusions: The most common comorbidities in severe asthmatics in China are allergic rhinitis and gastroesophageal reflux disease. The risk factors of severe asthma include obesity, allergic rhinitis, gastroesophageal reflux disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bronchiectasis, smoking and petting.

RESUMO

1. Tile-grey plumage is a unique and rare feather type of local chicken breeds in China, but its genetic mechanism and corresponding genes remain unknown.2. In order to identify the genetic basis and molecular characteristics of tile-grey plumage, this experiment investigated variations of melanocortin 1 receptor (MC1R) gene in Yunnan Piao chickens with typical tile-grey plumage characteristics in contrast with three Yunnan local breeds as well as two standard breeds with different plumage colour, and analysed the association between genic variation and tile-grey plumage.3. Through sequencing and comparison of the entire coding region of the MC1R gene, a total of 10 SNP loci were detected, of which eight were non-synonymous mutations that cause amino acid changes. The gene frequency and genotype frequency of the MC1R mutation sites in different breeds and different plumage colour groups revealed that C69T, T212C and A274G were significantly associated with tile-grey plumage. Eighteen haplotypes of the MC1R gene were constructed based on 10 nucleotide variations and eight amino acid variations. Haplotype distribution and the median joining network in breeds and plumage colour groups revealed a main haplotype (hap2) for tile-grey plumage. Hap2 is unique to the tile-grey feather of Piao chicken, and the individuals carrying this haplotype account for 62.96% of the whole tile-grey chicken.4. The results of this study are of significance for further analysis of the molecular basis of tile-grey plumage and the selective breeding of tile-grey plumage.

RESUMO

Objective:To investigate the effect of Notch1 gene on radiosensitivity of nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells and its molecular mechanism. Method:A Notch1-knockout CNE-2 cell line was constructed using CRISPR/Cas9 system, and the expression of Notch1 gene was detected by RT-PCR and Western blot. After treatment with different doses of radiation, the survival fraction (SF) of each group was calculated, and used the GraphPad Prism 6.0 software and the Linear quadratic model were used to calculate the fitted dose survival curve and the sensitivity enhancement ratio(SER). Taking 6 Gy as radiation dose, the experiment was divided into four groups: Notch1(+) group, Notch1(-) group, IR+Notch1(+) group and IR+Notch1(-) group. CCK-8 assay was used to detect cell proliferation in each group. Annexin V-FITC/PI double staining assay was used to detect the changes of apoptosis in each group. The expression of H2AX, CyclinD1, Bax, Bcl-2 and GAPDH proteins were detected by Western blot. Result:The CNE-2 cell line with Notch1 gene knockout was successfully constructed. The clonogenic assay showed knockout of Notch1 enhanced the radiosensitivity of NPC cells. The CCK-8 assay showed that cell proliferation and cell viability were significantly reduced in the IR+Notch1(-) group compared with the IR+Notch1(+) group(P<0.05). Annexin V-FITC/PI double staining assay showed that the IR+Notch1(-) group had the highest apoptosis rate compared with the other groups (P<0.05). Western blotting demonstrated that the expression of γH2AX was significantly increased after irradiation of Notch1 nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells, the expression of Cyclin-D1 was increased, and the ratio of Bax:Bcl-2 was higher. Conclusion:Knockout of Notch1 signaling molecule can effectively improve the radiosensitivity of NPC cells cultured in vitro, which may be a potential target for radiosensitization of NPC.

RESUMO

Microtubules are polymers of α/ß-tubulin, with microtubule organization being regulated by microtubule-associated proteins (MAPs). Herein, we describe a novel role for the epithelial gene repressor, zinc finger E-box-binding homeobox 1 (ZEB1), that "switches" from a chromatin-associated protein during interphase, to a MAP that associates with α-, ß- and γ-tubulin during mitosis. Additionally, ZEB1 was also demonstrated to associate with γ-tubulin at the microtubule organizing center (MTOC). Using confocal microscopy, ZEB1 localization was predominantly nuclear during interphase, with α/ß-tubulin being primarily cytoplasmic and the association between these proteins being minimal. However, during the stages of mitosis, ZEB1 co-localization with α-, ß-, and γ-tubulin was significantly increased, with the association commonly peaking during metaphase in multiple tumor cell-types. ZEB1 was also observed to accumulate in the cleavage furrow during cytokinesis. The increased interaction between ZEB1 and α-tubulin during mitosis was also confirmed using the proximity ligation assay. In contrast to ZEB1, its paralog ZEB2, was mainly perinuclear and cytoplasmic during interphase, showing some co-localization with α-tubulin during mitosis. Considering the association between ZEB1 with α/ß/γ-tubulin during mitosis, studies investigated ZEB1's role in the cell cycle. Silencing ZEB1 resulted in a G2-M arrest, which could be mediated by the up-regulation of p21Waf1/Cip1 and p27Kip1 that are known downstream targets repressed by ZEB1. However, it cannot be excluded the G2/M arrest observed after ZEB1 silencing is not due to its roles as a MAP. Collectively, ZEB1 plays a role as a MAP during mitosis and could be functionally involved in this process.

RESUMO

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Oryz-Aspergillus enzyme and pancreatin tablets (Combizym(®)) in the treatment of postprandial distress syndrome (PDS) in the elderly, compared with gastrointestinal motility drugs. Methods: A prospective randomized controlled trial was designed and registered in the China Clinical Trials Registry (ChiCTR-IPR-16008185). The elderly patients with PDS were randomly divided into three groups, including Mosapride group with Mosapride citrate tablets 5 mg 3 times per day for 2 weeks; Combizym(®) group with Combizym tablets 244 mg 3 times per day for 2 weeks; combined treatment group with both drugs and same doses for 2 weeks. The modified Nepean dyspepsia index (NDSI) score, discomfort intensity score and PDS score were calculated on patients before treatment, at the end of first and second week of treatment, as well as 4 weeks after treatment finished, respectively. Adverse effects were evaluated. Results: A total of 323 patients from 16 tertiary hospitals in China were enrolled in this study. Among them, 105 patients were in Mosapride group, 109 in Combizym(®) group and 109 in combined treatment group. There were 148 males (45.8%) and 175 females (54.2%) with median age 71.4±9.0 years (60-100 years). Baseline characteristics of three groups were comparable. After treatment, the NDSI scores in three groups all decreased significantly (P<0.001), while they were similar between groups (P>0.05). The discomfort intensity score and PDS score in three groups showed a significant reduction after treatment (P<0.001), especially in the combined treatment group. Compared with Mosapride group, the scores in Combizym(®) group decreased significantly after one or two weeks [discomfort intensity score: after one week, 4.0(2.5, 8.0) vs. 6.0(3.0, 10.0); after two weeks, 3.0(0.0, 5.0) vs. 4.0(2.0, 6.0); all P<0.05. PDS score: after one week, 6.0(3.0, 9.0) vs. 7.0(3.5, 10.5); after two weeks, 3.0(0.0, 5.0) vs. 4.0(2.0, 7.0); all P<0.05]. The efficacy rate in all patients after first week of treatment was over 15.0%. The efficacy rates after two weeks were 55.2%, 68.8% and 73.4% in Mosapride group, Combizym(®) group and combined treatment group, respectively. After two week treatment, the efficacy rates in Combizym(®) group (P=0.041) and combined group (P=0.006) were higher than that of Mosapride group. The recurrence rate of Mosapride group was 9.5%, which was significantly higher than that of Combizym(®) group (1.8%, P<0.05) and combined treatment group (1.8%, P<0.05). There were no serious adverse effects in the three groups. Conclusions: The efficacy of Oryz-Aspergillus enzyme and pancreatin tablets is comparable with that of Mosapride in elderly PDS patients, with fewer adverse effects and low recurrence rate. Combination regimen indicates better efficacy than that of Oryz-Aspergillus enzyme and pancreatin tablets or Mosapride alone.

RESUMO

The U.S. Army's Standards of Medical Fitness (AR 40-501) states: "Prior burn injury (to include donor sites) involving a total body surface area of 40% or more does not meet the standard." However, the standard does not account for the interactive effect of burn injury size and air temperature on exercise thermoregulation. PURPOSE: To evaluate whether the detrimental effect of a simulated burn injury on exercise thermoregulation is dependent on air temperature. METHODS: On eight occasions, nine males cycled for 60 min at a fixed metabolic heat production (6 W·kg) in air temperatures of 40°C or 25°C with simulated burn injuries of 0% (Control), 20%, 40%, or 60% of total body surface area (TBSA). Burn injuries were simulated by covering the skin with an absorbent, vapor-impermeable material to impede evaporation from the covered areas. Core temperature was measured in the gastrointestinal tract via telemetric pill. RESULTS: In 40°C conditions, greater elevations in core temperature were observed with 40% and 60% TBSA simulated burn injuries versus Control (P < 0.01). However, at 25°C, core temperature responses were not different versus Control with 20%, 40%, and 60% TBSA simulated injuries (P = 0.97). The elevation in core temperature at the end of exercise was greater in the 40°C environment with 20%, 40%, and 60% TBSA simulated burn injuries (P ≤ 0.04). CONCLUSIONS: Simulated burn injuries ≥20% TBSA exacerbate core temperature responses in hot, but not temperate, air temperatures. These findings suggest that the U.S. Army's standard for inclusion of burned soldiers is appropriate for hot conditions, but could lead to the needless discharge of soldiers who could safely perform their duties in cooler training/operational settings.

RESUMO

Although the severity of a burn injury is often associated with the percentage of total body surface area burned (%TBSA), the thermoregulatory consequences of a given %TBSA injury do not account for the interactive effects of body morphology and metabolic heat production (Hprod). PURPOSE: Using a simulated burn injury model to mimic the detrimental effect of a 40% TBSA injury on whole-body evaporative heat dissipation, core temperature response to exercise in physiologically uncompensable conditions between morphologically disparate groups were examined at (i) an absolute Hprod (W), and (ii) a mass-specific Hprod (W·kg). METHODS: Healthy, young, nonburned individuals of small (SM, n = 11) or large (LG, n = 11) body size cycled for 60 min at 500 W or 5.3 W·kg of Hprod in 39°C and 20% relative humidity conditions. A 40% burn injury was simulated by affixing a highly absorbent, vapor-impermeable material across the torso (20% TBSA), arms (10% TBSA), and legs (10% TBSA) to impede evaporative heat loss in those regions. RESULTS: Although the elevation in core temperature was greater in SM compared with LG at an Hprod of 500 W (SM, 1.69°C ± 0.26°C; LG, 1.05°C ± 0.26°C; P < 0.01), elevations in core temperature were not different at an Hprod of 5.3 W·kg between groups (SM, 0.99°C ± 0.32°C; LG, 1.05°C ± 0.26°C; P = 0.66). CONCLUSIONS: These data suggest that among individuals with a 40% TBSA burn injury, a smaller body size leads to exacerbated elevations in core temperature during physical activities eliciting the same absolute Hprod (non-weight-bearing tasks) but not activities eliciting the same mass-specific Hprod (weight-bearing tasks).

RESUMO

Previously, we identified that sortilin related VPS10 domain containing receptor 1 (SorCS1) was hypermethylated in colorectal cancer (CRC) tissues. Here, we aimed to investigate the association between CRC and SorCS1. DNA methylation was determined by methylation-specific polymerase chain reaction (MSP) or quantitative real-time methylation analysis (MethyLight). Colorectal cancer tissue specimens from 239 patients that had undergone surgical treatment were evaluated using immunohistochemistry (IHC) analysis for the expression of SorCS1 and correlated with clinicopathological variables and prognosis. We found that SorCS1 was hypermethylated in CRC cell lines and 67.5% (27/40) CRC tumor tissues. The loss of SorCS1 mRNA (p<0.001) and protein expression (p=0.033) were highly correlated with promoter methylation. In addition, SorCS1 expression was significantly increased in younger patients (p=0.006), low CEA level (p<0.001) and pT1-2 stage (p=0.005). Survival analysis revealed that decreased expression of SorCS1 was an independent factor for predicting the increased risk of recurrence (p=0.024) and poor overall survival (p=0.006). Subgroup analysis for CEA level, pT and pN classifications showed that SorCS1 retained its stratified significance only in patients with low CEA level, pT3-4 tumors and pN1-2 lymph node status. Our findings suggest that SorCS1 is epigenetically inactivated in a substantial fraction of CRC, and its expression may be a promising prognostic factor in CRC patients.

RESUMO

Objective:To evaluate the influence of voice disorders on children's quality of life through the parental version of pediatric voice-related quality of life(pVRQOL). Method:Three hundred and eighty-six children from August 2017 to December 2018 were enrolled in this study. A total of 214 parents of children had voice disorders(dysphonic group), and 172 parents of children were without voice disorders(control group). Both groups were filled out the questionnaire containing the parental version of pVRQOL. Result:① The most common disease in children with voice disorder was vocal fold nodule, and boys were more susceptible to voice disorder than girls(71.5%, 28.5%); ②In dysphonic group, the scores of total(91.40±8.63, 97.94±4.23), physiology and function(87.55±10.98, 96.99±6.10), social emotion(98.86 ±3.29, 99.73±1.08) were lower than those in control group(P<0.01); ③In dysphonic group, there was a correlation between the parents' overall evaluation of the children's voice quality and the three dimensions of the parental version of pVRQOL(total: r=-0.398, P<0.01, physical function: r=-0.448, P<0.01, social-emotion: r=-0.125, P<0.05). Conclusion:Voice disorders could cause a negative impact on children's voice related quality of life. pVRQOL could be applied to assess the voice-related quality of life in children with voice disorders.
