OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the dosimetry, efficacy, and safety of radioactive 125I seed implantation (RISI) assisted by three-dimensional printing noncoplanar template (3D-PNCT) and CT for recurrent retroperitoneal lymphatic metastasis (RRLM) after previous external beam radiotherapy. METHODS AND MATERIALS: From June 2016 to August 2018, 32 patients with RRLM successfully underwent 3D-PNCT-assisted and CT-guided RISI. The dosimetry, pain relief rate, performance improvement rate, overall response rate, disease control rate, local control time (LCT), overall survival (OS), and safety profiles were evaluated. RESULTS: Dosimetric results showed that the D90, D100, V100, V150, V200, and homogeneity index were consistent in preoperation and postoperation (p > 0.05), except for the external index and conformal index (p = 0.048, p = 0.034). After RISI, 81.3% of the patients achieved pain relief, and 71.9% achieved an improvement of performance. The overall response rate and disease control rate were 85.3% and 94.1%, respectively. The LCT rates reached 66.2% and 43.2% in 1 year and two years, respectively, with a median LCT of 15.8 months. The OS rates were 74.1% and 28.1% in 1 year and two year, respectively, with a median OS reaching 17.6 months. Univariate analysis showed that when D90 > 130 Gy or D100 > 63 Gy or tumor size ≤49.8 cm3, LCT was extended significantly, but not for OS. Except for two patients developing Grade 1 retroperitoneal hematomas, no other severe adverse events were observed. CONCLUSIONS: 3D-PNCT and CT guidance provide excellent accuracy for RISI, which can be an effective and safe alternative for RRLM after external beam radiotherapy. Radiation dose and tumor size seem to significantly influence the local control.

OBJECTIVES: The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of CT-guided radioactive 125I seed implantation as a salvage treatment for locally recurrent head and neck soft tissue sarcoma (HNSTS) after surgery and external beam radiotherapy. METHODS AND MATERIALS: From December 2006 to February 2018, 25 patients with locally recurrent HNSTS after surgery and external beam radiotherapy were enrolled. All the patients successfully underwent CT-guided 125I seed implantation. The primary end points included the objective response rate (ORR) and local progression-free survival (LPFS). The secondary end points were survival (OS) and safety profiles. RESULTS: After 125I seed implantation, the ORR was 76.0%. The 1-, 3-, and 5-year LPFS rates were 65.6%, 34.4%, and 22.9%, respectively, with the median LPFS of 16.0 months. The 1-, 3-, and 5-year OS rates were 70.8%, 46.6%, and 34.0%, respectively, with the median OS of 28.0 months. Furthermore, univariate analyses showed that the recurrent T stage and histological grade were prognostic factors of LPFS, whereas only the histological grade was a predictor of OS. The major adverse events were skin/mucosal toxicities, which were generally of lower grade (≤Grade 2) and were well tolerated. CONCLUSIONS: Radioactive 125I seed implantation could be an effective and safe alternative treatment for locally recurrent HNSTS after failure of surgery and radiotherapy. Recurrent T stage and histological grade were the main factors influencing the efficacy.

OBJECTIVE: To ascertain the safety and efficacy of radioactive iodine-125 seed implantation (RISI) for the treatment of thoracic tumors. METHODS: Clinical patients with primary or metastatic tumors in the chest treated with RISI were analyzed. The RISI process included the following stages: preoperative planning, template design and 3D printing, CT-guided RISI assisted by a template, and postoperative dosimetric verification. The prescribed dose was ≥ 80 Gy. The main analytic measures were the local control (LC) rate and toxicity. RESULTS: From April 2015 to July 2018, a total of 92 patients, including 41 with lung cancer and 51 with lung metastases, were analyzed. The median lesion diameter was 5 cm. The median postoperative D90 was 142.6 Gy. The median follow-up was 10.7 months. The overall survival rates at 1 year and 3 years were 59.7% and 22.2%, respectively. The LC rates at 1 year and 3 years were 64.9% and 32.8%, respectively. The LC rates at 3 years for patients with D90 < 140 Gy and D90 > 140 Gy were 23.1% and 54.3%, respectively (P = 0.014). The LC rate of metastatic lung cancer was more favorable than that of primary lung cancer. The multivariate analyses showed that the dose and lesion type were independent factors for LC (P < 0.05). No factors were related to OS. The incidence of pneumothorax and hemoptysis was 35.8% and 3.2%, respectively. Few cases of radiotherapy-related toxicity effects were observed. CONCLUSIONS: RISI may be safe and efficacious and is associated with few complications during the treatment of thoracic tumors. If patients need local treatment and surgery or radiotherapy is not available, RISI could be considered.

BACKGROUND: Compared with intracranial aneurysms (IAs) at other locations, pericallosal artery aneurysms (PAAs) have demonstrated an extremely high risk of rupture. However, owing to their rarity, our understanding of their morphological characteristics has been limited, and whether the morphological characteristics of PAAs contribute to this high rupture risk has remained unexplored. In the present study, we aimed to provide a detailed description of the morphological characteristics of PAAs and investigate the association between its morphology and rupture risk compared with anterior circulation IAs at other locations. METHODS: A total of 40 patients with 45 PAAs and 348 patients with 392 anterior circulation IAs at other locations were recruited. The clinical and radiological data for these patients were retrospectively reviewed. The differences in the morphological parameters, including the aneurysm diameter, neck width, height, width, parent artery diameter, inflow angle, aspect ratio (AR), size ratio (SR), and aneurysm diameter/width ratio, between PAAs and other IA groups were compared. RESULTS: Of the 45 PAAs, 22 (48.9%) had ruptured. The proportion of ruptured aneurysms was greater for PAAs than for anterior circulation IAs at other locations. For both ruptured and unruptured anterior circulation IAs, PAAs had the highest AR and SR among all IA groups and had the largest inflow angle. CONCLUSION: The morphological characteristics of PAAs are unique. Compared with other anterior circulation IAs, PAAs have significantly increased ARs, SRs, and inflow angles, which, ultimately, promote their high propensity toward rupture.

On-road driving emissions of six liquefied natural gas (LNG) and diesel semi-trailer towing vehicles (STTVs) which met China Emission Standard IV and V were tested using Portable Emission Measurement System (PEMS) in northern China. Emission characteristics of these vehicles under real driving conditions were analyzed and proved that on-road emissions of heavy-duty vehicles (HDVs) were underestimated in the past. There were large differences among LNG and diesel vehicles, which also existed between China V vehicles and China IV vehicles. Emission factors showed the highest level under real driving conditions, which probably be caused by frequent acceleration, deceleration, and start-stop. NOx emission factors ranged from 2.855 to 20.939 g/km based on distance-traveled and 6.719-90.557 g/kg based on fuel consumption during whole tests, which were much higher than previous researches on chassis dynamometer. It was inferred from tests that the fuel consumption rate of the test vehicles had a strong correlation with NOx emission, and the exhaust temperature also affected the efficiency of Selected Catalytic Reduction (SCR) after-treatment system, thus changing the NOx emission greatly. THC emission factors of LNG vehicles were 2.012-10.636 g/km, which were much higher than that of diesel vehicles (0.029-0.185 g/km). Unburned CH4 may be an important reason for this phenomenon. Further on-road emission tests, especially CH4 emission test should be carried out in subsequent research. In addition, the Particulate Number (PN) emission factors of diesel vehicles were at a very high level during whole tests, and Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) should be installed to reduce PN emission.

A new three-dimensional metal-organic framework (MOF) was synthesized by linking ditopic amino functionalized polyoxometalate [N(C4H9)4]3[MnMo6O18{(OCH2)3CNH2}2] with 4-connected tetrahedral tetrakis(4-formylphenyl)methane building units through imine condensation. The structure of this MOF, termed MOF-688, was solved by single crystal X-ray diffraction and found to be triply interpenetrated diamond-based dia topology. Tetrabutylammonium cations fill the pores and balance the charge of the anionic framework. They can be exchanged with lithium ions to give high ionic conductivity (3.4 × 10-4 S cm-1 at 20 °C), a high lithium ion transference number (tLi+ = 0.87), and low interfacial resistance (353 Ω) against metallic lithium-properties that make it ideally suited as a solid-state electrolyte. Indeed, a prototype lithium metal battery constructed using MOF-688 as the solid electrolyte can be cycled at room temperature with a practical current density of ∼0.2 C.

During radioactive Iodine-125 seed implantation (RISI), Iodine-125 radionuclide is implanted directly into a lesion and kills tumor cells by steadily emitting radiation. In our study, we analyzed the adverse effects of RISI for thoracic malignancy, and investigated the safety, dosage, and adverse effects of RISI for these cases. Between June 2007 and January 2018, 77 patients with thoracic recurrent and/or metastatic tumors who underwent CT-guided RISI were enrolled. Radiation-related adverse effects were analyzed, including pneumonia, esophagitis, hemorrhage, fistula, skin injury, heart injury, and spinal cord injury. We used the Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events (CTCAE) v4.03 to evaluate adverse effects and analyzed the relationship between adverse effects and dosimetric parameters of organs at risk (OAR), including D0.1cc, D2cc, Dmean, and V20. The results of the study were as follows: The median follow-up period was 11 months. The median postoperative dose (D90) was 122 Gy (45.7-241.8 Gy). Three patients (3.9%) showed radiation pneumonitis of grade ≥2. Two patients (2.6%) showed radiation-induced esophagitis of grade ≥2. One patient (1.3%) showed an esophageal fistula. Two patients (2.6%) had a tracheal fistula. Five patients (6.5%) had radiation-related skin reactions. One patient (1.3%) reported chest wall pain, while three (3.9%) showed hemoptysis. No patients showed radiation myelitis or cardiotoxicity. The mean D2cc of organs at risk were 165.7 Gy (lung), 10.61 Gy (esophagus), 10.25 Gy (trachea), 18.07 Gy (blood vessel), 12.64 Gy (heart), 14.77 Gy (spinal cord), 17.47 Gy (skin). Dosimetric parameters, such as D0.1cc, D2cc and Dmean, were higher in patients with toxic reactions (above the upper limit of 95% confidence interval among the overall data). Chi-square test showed that skin D0.1cc > 600 Gy, D2cc > 500 Gy, and Dmean >90 Gy were associated with grade ≥2 radiation dermatitis (p < 0.05), but no clear dose-toxicity correlation was found in other OARs. So, we concluded that the overall incidence of toxicity and adverse effects from RISI for the treatment of thoracic tumors is low. The dose-toxicity characteristics have not been fully defined. Doses within the upper limit of the 95% confidence interval may be considered safe. This was a retrospective analysis, and follow-up period was minimal, indicating possible limitations of this study.

Growing evidence suggests that obesity is associated with the susceptibility and disease severity of multiple sclerosis. The chronic inflammation induced by obesity is believed to contribute to this process. However, the immune mechanisms connecting obesity to the prevalence and pathogenesis of MS are poorly defined. In this study, we show that high fat diet (HFD)-induced obese mice developed an exacerbated EAE as indicated by higher clinical scores and more severe pathological changes in spinal cord than the control mice fed with normal diet (ND), following immunization with myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) 35-55 peptide. The exacerbation of EAE in HFD mice was associated with enhanced microglial activation and increased expansion of Th1 and Th17 cells. The HFD mice also showed aggravated disease in an adoptive T cell transfer EAE model. Mechanistically, HFD augmented the expression level of IL-6 and CCL-2 both in serum and brain, and blockade of IL-6 and CCL-2 signal ameliorated EAE with reduced T cells infiltration in CNS. Taken together, our results suggest that obesity promotes CNS inflammation in EAE through IL-6 and CCL-2 mediated the inflammatory cells infiltration.

The vacancy-enhanced contact friction of graphene is mainly attributed to the vacancy-enhanced out-of-plane deformation flexibility of the graphene and the climbing of the tip out of the vacancy trap (which actually acts as a step edge). However, this mechanism does not apply for explaining the enhanced friction caused by small-sized vacancies that are unable to accommodate the tip, such as single vacancy and double vacancies, which also commonly exist in the graphene. In the present study, by performing a set of classic molecular dynamics simulations, we demonstrated that the double-vacancy defect in graphene substantially enhanced the contact friction when the tip slides over it and the pinning effect of the reconstructed lattice of the double-vacancy defect with atoms at the bottom of the tip dominated such an influence. The underlying mechanism of such an atomic pinning effect and the influence of the normal load, sliding direction, and the sliding velocity were unveiled by analyzing the obtained friction evolution and the atomic configuration and interaction between the tip and the graphene. We believe that the findings presented in this study complete the state-of-art understanding of the nanoscale friction behaviors of vacancy-defected graphene, which is essential for the implementation of their potential control.

To improve the neutral DES (choline chloride/glycerol) pretreatment performance, three environmentally friendly heteropoly acids (phosphotungstic, phosphomolybdic and silicotungstic acids) were used as catalysts. Pretreatment with silicotungstic acid at 120 °C for 3 h resulted in 97.3% of enzymatic digestibility at an enzyme loading of 15FPU/g substrate, which was approximately eight times more than that of raw samples. More importantly, 80% of glucose yield was obtained within 12 h. Simultaneously, 81.8% of ethanol yield was achieved in the SSSF process. The efficient conversion was ascribed to the significant delignification (89.5%), which resulted in the exposure of more accessible specific surface area. This was attributed to that the proton (H+) from heteropoly acids could significantly contribute to the lignin degradation. Intriguingly, trace acetic acid (0.39 g/L) and HMF (0.21-0.95 g/L) in the pretreatment liquor were produced without any significant deleterious effects. These discoveries provide new insights for efficient biomass conversion under mild conditions.

As the largest oil field in China, Daqing oil field has been developed in the past six decades. The objectives of this study were to measure the levels of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and assess their ecological risk of PAHs in vegetation soil and bare soil near oil well in Daqing and surrounding soil. Ten sites were selected from two types of soil in grassland: vegetation soil (VS, n = 5) and bare soil (BS, n = 5). The mean concentration of 16 PAHs (∑16 PAHs) was 2240.2 µg/kg. The mean concentrations of eight carcinogenic PAHs (∑8c PAHs) was 1312.3 µg/kg which accounts for 59% of ∑16 PAHs. The sampling sites had higher proportions of high weight molecular ringed PAHs with higher proportions of benzo (a) pyren (BaP) and benzo (k) fluoranthene (BkF). The main source of PAHs was petroleum, coal/biomass combustion, and vehicular emission in these sampling sites. According to Canadian soil quality guidelines, 60% sites had a significant risk to human health. Moreover, 50% sites had high ecological risk and 30% sites were close to this critical value. Notably, PAH levels were significantly higher in VS than BS; moreover, VS had higher organic matter (OM) content, soil dehydrogenase (sDHA) activity, and lower pH and salt content. A structural equation model was established to explore the effects of soil properties on PAH concentration in VS. The result revealed that OM and sDHA were meaningful to enhance the adsorption and biological fixation of PAHs. This study will provide basic information on PAH level and potential application for phytoremediation.

PURPOSE: To determine the relationship between the bone formation-related functions of GPR126 and the structural asymmetry of spine in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS). METHODS: Vertebral body samples were obtained from 51 AIS patients during spinal surgery between October 2014 and November 2017, and the expression pattern of GPR126 in the convex/concave sides of AIS spine was identified by RT-qPCR. Next, we explored the bone formation-related functions of GPR126 by knocking down and overexpressing GPR126 in human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSC) and further performing osteogenic differentiation. We also applied overexpression of N-terminal fragments derived from GPR126 (GPR126-NTFs) and osteogenic differentiation experiments to determine the functional part of GPR126 in skeletal development. RESULTS: We provided evidence that GPR126 showed a marked convex/concave asymmetric expression in the spine of AIS. Further RNA detection found that exon6-included transcripts of GPR126 (GPR126-exon6in) were significantly higher expressed in the convex side of AIS patients. Knocking down of GPR126 accelerated ossification of hMSCs during osteogenic differentiation, and overexpression of GPR126-exon6in delayed this process. Overexpression of GPR126-NTFs revealed that NTF is a functional fragment and exon6-included NTF (NTF-exon6in) delayed ossification of hMSCs. CONCLUSION: Our findings indicated that GPR126-NTFs play a role in skeletal development, and the inclusion/exclusion of exon6 may regulate the bone formation-related functions of GPR126. The convex/concave asymmetric expression of GPR126-exon6in may be an important factor in abnormal bone formation of AIS. These slides can be retrieved under Electronic Supplementary Material.

Purpose: We compared the three-dimensional printed non-coplanar template (3DPNCT) plans with 3D-printed coplanar template (3DPCT) plans for radioactive seed implantation (RSI) in lung cancer and explored the differences between the two technologies. Material and methods: 33 patients with peripheral lung cancer that received 3DPCT-assisted RSI in our department between June 2017 and February 2018 were analyzed. A 3DPNCT plan was re-designed for all patients. The prescribed dose and seed activity in the new plan were the same as the 3DPCT plan. The data in the two plans were compared, including seed number, needle number, number of needles needed to cross the ribs, and dosimetry parameters. Dosimetry parameters included D90, Dmean, MPD (minimum peripheral dose), V100, V150, CI (conformity index), EI (external index), HI (homogeneity index) of target volume, D2cc of spinal cord and aorta, and V20 of affected side lung. We used a paired t-test and two groups of related non-parameters tests to examine statistical significance. A p value < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: We found no significant difference in dosimetry parameters (p > 0.05), except MPD. The mean MPD of the 3DPNCT plan was significantly higher than the 3DPCT plan (88.5 Gy and 81.8 Gy, respectively, p = 0.017). The number of needles used in the 3DPNCT plan and the number of needles needed to cross the ribs were significantly less compared with the 3DPCT plan (p = 0.000). Conclusions: The dose distributions of the two 3DPCT plans were similar. 3DPNCT plan had a higher dose in target volume margin, with fewer needles and fewer breaks to the ribs.

AIM: To investigate the alterations in both structure and contractile responsiveness of ocular ciliary artery (OCA) in spontaneously hypertensive rat (SHR). METHODS: In this experiment, 20-week-old male SHR and Wistar Kyoto rat (WKY) were studied. The heart rate (HR), the blood pressure (BP; the systolic BP and the diastolic BP) of rats with an electronic sphygmomanometer were measured. Vascular morphometry and isometric tension measurement were used to investigate the alterations in structure and contractility of OCA. RESULTS: A general narrowing of OCAs was observed in SHR compared to the control WYK. In SHR, the media of OCAs were thicker, the luminal diameters were smaller, and the media-to-lumen ratios were higher when compared with WKY (P<0.05). The contractions of OCAs evoked by norepinephrine were smaller in SHR compared to control (P<0.05). Then, OCAs were pretreated with iberiotoxin, L-NAME, or indomethacin 30min before norepinephrine-induced contraction. Iberiotoxin (0.1 µmol/L) has not changed the norepinephrine-induced contractions in OCAs from both groups. However, L-NAME (100 µmol/L) increased the vasoconstrictions, the increased extents were similar in SHR and WKY (P>0.05). Indomethacin (10 µmol/L) decreased the contractions induced by norepinephrine in OCAs from WKY (P<0.05), but did not change those contractions in vessels from SHR (P>0.05). CONCLUSION: Our results demonstrate that the structure and function of OCAs are altered in hypertension. OCAs from SHR are remodeled with decreased lumen diameter and increased media-to-lumen ratio. Moreover, the contractile responsiveness of OCAs from SHR is diminished due to the disruption of vasoconstrictive effect of prostaglandins.

To extend the coherence of quantum transitions for laser locking, as well as increase the compactness and stability of the experimental setup, we propose to utilize photonic integrated resonators with high second-harmonic (SH) generation efficiencies as reliable frequency doublers that link the desired frequencies with the frequency references. In this Letter, a sufficiently strong SH signal up to microwatts was generated by a photonic integrated frequency doubler using a milliwatt infrared (IR) laser source. Furthermore, an increased SH generation bandwidth covering Rb85 and Rb87D2 transition lines, as well as saturated absorption spectroscopy, was demonstrated by tuning the pump power and chip temperature. Here we present, to the best of our knowledge, the first successful locking of an IR laser to Rb saturated absorption lines via a photonic chip frequency doubler.

RESUMO

Using an inducible, inflammatory model of breast cellular transformation, we describe the transcriptional regulatory network mediated by STAT3, NF-κB, and AP-1 factors on a genomic scale. These proinflammatory regulators form transcriptional complexes that directly regulate the expression of hundreds of genes in oncogenic pathways via a positive feedback loop. This transcriptional feedback loop and associated network functions to various extents in many types of cancer cells and patient tumors, and it is the basis for a cancer inflammation index that defines cancer types by functional criteria. We identify a network of noninflammatory genes whose expression is well correlated with the cancer inflammatory index. Conversely, the cancer inflammation index is negatively correlated with the expression of genes involved in DNA metabolism, and transformation is associated with genome instability. We identify drugs whose efficacy in cell lines is correlated with the cancer inflammation index, suggesting the possibility of using this index for personalized cancer therapy. Inflammatory tumors are preferentially associated with infiltrating immune cells that might be recruited to the site of the tumor via inflammatory molecules produced by the cancer cells.

Layered lithium-rich cathode materials are one of the most promising cathode materials owing to their higher mass energy density than the commercial counterparts. A series of trace Yb-doped lithium-rich cathode materials Li1.2 Mn0.54 Ni0.13 Co0.13-x Ybx O2 (0≤x≤0.050) were synthesized and the effects were investigated by XRD, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and high-resolution TEM. The participation of Yb ions in electrochemical reactions and the larger binding energy of Yb-O than M-O (M=Mn, Ni, Co), which expands the lithium layer spacing and stabilizes the oxygen stacking, resulted in excellent performance of materials doped with a limited Yb content (x≤0.005). However, higher doping amounts (x>0.005) significantly increased the charge-transfer impedance and led to a sharp deterioration in electrochemical performance. The reason lies in the large difference in ionic radius between the transition metals (Mn, Co, and Ni) and Yb. There is an upper limit to the amount of Yb ions in the lattice. If the amount of Yb is higher than the limit, excess Yb ions enter the Li layers instead of staying in the transition-metal layers or even segregate on the surface and form electrochemically inert oxides.

Microbial communities in wetland soils play vital roles in biogeochemical cycling of nutrients. In this study, the soil samples were collected from Suaeda, reed and Suaeda-reed hybrid zones in Shuangtaizi River Estuary, Northeast China, and the rhizosphere bacterial communities were compared using Illumina MiSeq sequencing. The microbial richness, diversity and structure of bacterial communities varied greatly in reed and Suaeda. Canonical correspondence analysis and Mantel test indicated that pH was the most significant factor (P < 0.05) in bacterial community assembly. Proteobacteria was the most dominant phylum, accounting for 45.7-58.0% of the total sequences. Thioprofundum, Thiohalomonas and Exiguobacterium were the predominant genera in Suaeda, while Exiguobacterium, Gillisia, Desulfomonile, Citrobacter, Thioprofundum and Acinetobacter were the core species in reed. PICRUSt analysis revealed similar functional profiles of rhizosphere microbiota in reed and Suaeda. Nitrate reduction related genes were abundant for nitrogen metabolism, whereas assimilatory sulfate reduction was the major process for sulfur metabolism.

OBJECTIVE: We compared the depression levels of juvenile and adolescent patients with idiopathic scoliosis who had undergone bracing and identified the factors that influenced the extent of depression in these patients. METHODS: Our study included 112 patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) and 96 patients with juvenile idiopathic scoliosis (JIS). The demographic characteristics and Zung Self-Rating Depression Scale, Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire, and Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale for Children scores were evaluated to select the relative factors of depression in patients and parents. Cognitive evaluations, using the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised scale, and an independent evaluation using the Functional Independence Measure for Children scale, were conducted. RESULTS: The mean Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale for Children score in the AIS group (38.3 ± 3.0) was greater than that in the JIS group (23.8 ± 4.6), a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). Age at initial bracing, bracing duration, parental depression, Cobb angle at initial bracing, cognitive function, independence, peer problems, prosocial behaviors, emotional symptoms, and total difficulties were significant factors in our regression model for JIS. The AIS patients showed similar results, except for the age at initial bracing, cognitive function, and independence. CONCLUSIONS: Patients with AIS and JIS who had undergone bracing showed differences in the extent of depression, and female adolescents were more vulnerable to depressive psychological status. Higher levels of cognitive function and independence and older age at bracing, longer bracing duration, larger Cobb angle, negative parental attitudes, and undesirable Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire scores contributed to greater depression.
