RESUMO

With the development of mobile terminals, tunable capacitors for signal processing and memristors for calculation have received a lot of attention. Combining a tunable capacitor and a memristor can improve the performance of mobile terminals and reduce space requirements. In this article, we report on Bi2NiMnO6 (BNMO) films with high dielectric tuning and nonvolatile resistive switching (RS) effects. The BNMO films are fabricated by the sol-gel method and annealed at different temperatures. It exhibits a dielectric tunability of up to 92%. This high dielectric tunability may be attributed to the modulation of the interface dipole by the electric field. When an electric field is applied, the interface dipole of the BNMO film is far away from the interface of the BNMO, and then forms a conductive channel where anions and cations are mixed. The BNMO films are found to have a double-set type effect due to its dielectric tunability properties. This work introduces an ultra-high dielectric tuning material and a new type of RS effect on BNMO thin film, which can achieve tuning and memory behavior on a device.

RESUMO

Innate and adaptive immune factors play significant roles in the pathophysiology of endometriosis. T helper 17 (Th17) cells, a pro-inflammatory T cell subset, were considered to contribute to the progression of endometriosis lesions. However, the regulatory mechanisms of Th17 cells in endometriosis remain unidentified, partially due to the difficulty in recovering live Th17 cells from endometriosis patients. In this study, by flow cytometry analysis of a set of chemokine receptors including CXCR3, CCR4, CCR10, and CCR6, live RORγt-and-IL-17A-expressing Th17 cells were enriched from peritoneal fluid (PF) of patients with different stages of endometriosis for the first time, RNA-sequencing (RNA-Seq) of these PF Th17 cells revealed significantly up-regulated genes and down-regulated genes in stage I-II and stage III-IV endometriosis, compared with their counterparts in normal PF. In conclusion, this study provides a novel method to isolate live Th17 cells from endometriosis patients, unveils an array of differentially expressed genes in endometriosis Th17 cells, and offers valuable gene expression profile information for endometriosis clinical research.

RESUMO

Herein, Bi4Ti3O12 (BIT) ferroelectric thin films were fabricated into Au/BIT/LaNiO3/Si structures to demonstrate their memristor properties. Repeatable and stable bipolar resistive switching (RS) characteristics of the device are first reported in this work. The switching ratio of the device annealed in air reached approximately 102 at 0.1 and -0.1 V. The RS performance was not significantly degraded after 100 consecutive cycles of testing. We also explored the factors affecting the RS behavior of the device. By investigating the RS characteristics of the devices annealed in O2, and in combination with XPS analysis, we found that the RS properties were closely related to the presence of oxygen vacancies. The devices annealed in air exhibited a markedly improved RS effect over those annealed in O2. According to the slope fitting, the conduction mechanism of the device was the ohmic conduction and space charge limited current (SCLC). This study is the first to successfully apply BIT ferroelectric films to the RS layers of memristors. Additionally, a theory of conductive filaments is proposed to adequately explain the relationship between RS behavior and oxygen vacancies, providing meaningful inspiration for designing high-quality resistive random access memory devices.

RESUMO

As an important method to further improve the storage density of resistive memory, multistage resistive switching devices have become an important research direction. However, no stable and controllable multistage resistive switching device has been prepared, and the working mechanism is still unclear. Here, a sandwich-structured device is simply prepared by spin coating, with the work layer is the Bi2FeCrO6 thin film. The device can realize bidirectional controllable multistage resistive switching behavior, the biggest on/off ratio is 104, and it can maintain stability without attenuation at 100 times slow loop and 104 times pulse cycle. The analyzes showed that the charged ions formed by defects in the device migrated under the action of an external electric field lead to the Schottky barrier height reversible changed. Which is the key to cause multistage resistive switching behavior. This work is the first report about the voltage control of bidirectional adjustable multistage resistive switching behavior in the Bi2FeCrO6 thin film. The principle of generation is analyzed, and important ideas and insights are provided for the preparation and treatment of related multistage resistive problems.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Insomnia is common during pregnancy but the prevalence and risk factors of insomnia in Chinese women during pregnancy is not well studied. This study aimed to examine the prevalence of insomnia and its risk factors in Chinese women during pregnancy. METHODS: In this cross sectional study, 436 Chinese pregnant women with Insomnia Severity Index (ISI) ≥ 8 were clinically assessed using the insomnia criteria based on the combination of DSM-IV (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual-4th Edition) and ICD-10 (International Classification of Dieases, 10th Edition). Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), Dysfunctional Beliefs and Attitudes about Sleep Scale (DBAS), Pregnancy Pressure Scale (PPS), Perceived physical discomfort level and number, Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS), and a general socio-demographic questionnaire were administered. RESULTS: The results showed that about 20% of the pregnant women met the strict diagnosis criteria of insomnia. Independent-samples t-test revealed that several risk factors were correlated with the group with insomnia (N = 84) compared to the group without insomnia (N = 352). Binary Logistic regression analysis found that more significant bed partner influence (OR = 1.92, 95% CI: 1.03-3.60), depressive symptoms (OR = 1.07, 95% CI: 1.00-1.14), daytime sleepiness (OR = 1.07, 95% CI: 1.01-1.14), subjective somatic discomfort (OR = 2.27, 95% CI: 1.11-4.65), kinds of somatic discomfort (OR = 1.14, 95% CI: 1.03-1.27) and later gestation (OR = 1.05, 95% CI: 1.01-1.09) were significantly associated with insomnia. CONCLUSION: In this cohort of Chinese pregnant women, about a fifth of women suffered from clinically significant insomnia. Measures to prevent the adverse effects of insomnia should be provided to pregnant women with depressive symptoms, Sleep disturbance of the bed partner, excessive daytime sleepiness and somatic discomfort, especially late in gestation.

RESUMO

Double perovskite Bi2NiMnO6 (BNMO) thin films grown on p-Si (100) substrates with LaNiO3 (LNO) buffer layers were fabricated using chemical solution deposition. The crystal structure, surface topography, surface chemical state, ferroelectric, and current-voltage characteristics of BNMO thin films were investigated. The results show that the nanocrystalline BNMO thin films on p-Si substrates without and with LNO buffer layer are monoclinic phase, which have antiferroelectric-like properties. The composition and chemical state of BNMO thin films were characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. In the whole electrical property testing process, when the BNMO/p-Si heterojunction changed into a BNMO/LNO/p-Si heterojunction, the diode behavior of a single diode changing into two tail to tail diodes was observed. The conduction mechanism and temperature stability were also discussed.

RESUMO

A giant electrocaloric effect is reported in (Pb0.97La0.02)(Zr0.95Ti0.05)O3 anti-ferroelectric ceramics. These samples were fabricated by a solid-state mixed oxide technique. Dielectric analyses were employed to investigate the anti-ferroelectric (AFE) and ferroelectric (FE) phase transitions of the sample. During the heating process, the phase transition from the orthorhombic anti-ferroelectric phase (AFEO) to the tetragonal anti-ferroelectric phase (AFET) occurs at 155 °C, and the phase transition from AFET to PE occurs at 225 °C. Using the Maxwell relationship, the entropy change ΔS and adiabatic temperature change ΔT were obtained at different electric fields ranging from 40 to 65 kV/cm. The maximum adiabatic temperature change (ΔT max = -7.47 K) was obtained at 50 kV/cm, which was attributed to the field-induced phase transformation between the anti-ferroelectric and ferroelectric phases. These results showed that PLZT2/95/5 ceramics possess a large negative electrocaloric effect value, which could be applied in achieving cooling power as refrigerants.

RESUMO

The resistive switching (RS) characteristics of flexible films deposited on mica substrates have rarely been reported upon, especially flexible HfO2 films. A novel flexible Au/HfO2/Pt/mica resistive random access memory device was prepared by a sol-gel process, and a Au/HfO2/Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si (100) device was also prepared for comparison. The HfO2 thin films were grown into the monoclinic phase by the proper annealing process at 700 °C, demonstrated by grazing-incidence X-ray diffraction patterns. The ratio of high/low resistance (off/on) reached 1000 and 50 for the two devices, respectively, being relatively stable for the former but not for the latter. The great difference in ratios for the two devices may have been caused by different concentrations of the oxygen defect obtained by the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy spectra indicating composition and chemical state of the HfO2 thin films. The conduction mechanism was dominated by Ohm's law in the low resistance state, while in high resistance state, Ohmic conduction, space charge limited conduction (SCLC), and trap-filled SCLC conducted together.

RESUMO

Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH)-cytochrome P450 reductases (CPRs) function as redox partners of cytochrome P450 monooxygenases (P450s). CPRs and P450s in insects have been found to participate in insecticide resistance. However, the CPR of the moth Spodoptera litura has not been well characterized yet. Based on previously obtained transcriptome information, a full-length CPR cDNA of S. litura (SlCPR) was PCR-cloned. The deduced amino acid sequence contains domains and residues predicted to be essential for CPR function. Phylogenetic analysis with insect CPR amino acid sequences showed that SlCPR is closely related to CPRs of Lepidoptera. Quantitative reverse transcriptase PCR (RT-qPCR) was used to determine expression levels of SlCPR in different developmental stages and tissues of S. litura. SlCPR expression was strongest at the sixth-instar larvae stage and fifth-instar larvae showed highest expression in the midgut. Expression of SlCPR in the midgut and fat body was strongly upregulated when fifth-instar larvae were exposed to phoxim at LC15 (4 µg/mL) and LC50 (20 µg/mL) doses. RNA interference (RNAi) mediated silencing of SlCPR increased larval mortality by 34.6% (LC15 dose) and 53.5% (LC50 dose). Our results provide key information on the SlCPR gene and indicate that SlCPR expression levels in S. litura larvae influence their susceptibility to phoxim and possibly other insecticides.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: Avian colibacillosis is responsible for economic losses to poultry producers worldwide. To combat this, we aimed to develop an effective oral vaccine for chicken against O78 avian pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC) infection through a Lactobacillus delivery system. METHODOLOGY: Eight Lactobacillus strains isolated from the intestines of broiler chickens were evaluated based on their in vitro adherence ability to assess their potential as a delivery vector. Fimbrial subunit A (FimA) and outer-membrane protein C (OmpC) of APEC with and without fusion to dendritic cell-targeting peptide (DCpep) and microfold cell-targeting peptide (Co1) were displayed on the surface of Lactobacillus saerimneri M-11 and yielded vaccine groups (pPG-ompC-fimA/M-11 and pPG-ompC-fimA-Co1-DCpep/M-11, respectively). The colonization of the recombinant strains in vivo was assessed and the immunogenicity and protective efficacy of orally administered recombinant strains in chickens were evaluated. RESULTS: The colonization of the recombinant strains in vivo revealed no significant differences between the recombinant and wild-type strains. Chickens orally administered with vaccine groups showed significantly higher levels of OmpC/FimA-specific IgG in serum and mucosal IgA in cecum lavage, nasal lavage and stool compared to the pPG/M-11 group. After challenge with APEC CVCC1553, better protective efficacy was observed in chickens orally immunized with pPG-ompC-fimA/M-11 and pPG-ompC-fimA-Co1-DCpep/M-11, but no significant differences were observed between the two groups. CONCLUSIONS: Recombinant chicken-borne L. saerimneri M-11 showed good immunogenicity in chickens, suggesting that it may be a promising vaccine candidate against APEC infections. However, the activity of mammalian DCpep and Co1 was not significant in chickens.

RESUMO

The unique properties and great variety of relaxer ferroelectrics make them highly attractive in energy-storage and solid-state refrigeration technologies. In this work, lanthanum modified lead titanate ceramics are prepared and studied. The giant electrocaloric effect in lanthanum modified lead titanate ceramics is revealed for the first time. Large refrigeration efficiency (27.4) and high adiabatic temperature change (1.67 K) are achieved by indirect analysis. Direct measurements of electrocaloric effect show that reversible adiabatic temperature change is also about 1.67 K, which exceeds many electrocaloric effect values in current direct measured electrocaloric studies. Both theoretical calculated and direct measured electrocaloric effects are in good agreements in high temperatures. Temperature and electric field related energy storage properties are also analyzed, maximum energy-storage density and energy-storage efficiency are about 0.31 J/cm3 and 91.2%, respectively.

RESUMO

Microglia activation and white matter injury coexist after repeated episodes of mild brain trauma and ischemic stroke. Axon degeneration and demyelination can activate microglia; however, it is unclear whether early microglia activation can impair the function of white matter tracts and lead to injury. Rat corpus callosum (CC) slices were treated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) or LPS + Rhodobacter sphaeroides (RS)-LPS that is a toll-like receptor 4 (TLR-4) antagonist. Functional changes reflected by the change of axon compound action potentials (CAPs) and the accumulation of ß-amyloid precursor protein (ß-APP) in CC nerve fibers. Microglia activation was monitored by ionized calcium binding adaptor-1 immunofluorescent stain, based on well-established morphological criteria and paralleled proportional area measurement. Input-output (I/O) curves of CAPs in response to increased stimuli were significantly downshifted in a dose-dependent manner in LPS (0.2, 0.5 and 1.0 µg/mL)-treated slices, implying that axons neurophysiological function was undermined. LPS caused significant ß-APP accumulation in CC tissues, reflecting the deterioration of fast axon transport. LPS-induced I/O curve downshift and ß-APP accumulation were significantly reversed by the pre-treatment or co-incubation with RS-LPS. RS-LPS alone did not change the I/O curve. The degree of malfunction was correlated with microglia activation, as was shown by the measurements of proportional areas. Function of CC nerve fibers was evidently impaired by microglia activation and reversed by a TLP-4 antagonist, suggesting that the TLP-4 pathway lead to microglia activation.

RESUMO

Sr(Ti1-xFex)O3-δ (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.2) thin films were grown on Si(100) substrates with LaNiO3 buffer-layer by a sol-gel process. Influence of Fe substitution concentration on the structural, ferroelectric, and magnetic properties, as well as the leakage current behaviors of the Sr(Ti1-xFex)O3-δ thin films, were investigated by using the X-ray diffractometer (XRD), atomic force microscopy (AFM), the ferroelectric test system, and the vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). After substituting a small amount of Ti ion with Fe, highly enhanced ferroelectric properties were obtained successfully in SrTi0.9Ti0.1O3-δ thin films, with a double remanent polarization (2Pr) of 1.56, 1.95, and 9.14 µC·cm-2, respectively, for the samples were annealed in air, oxygen, and nitrogen atmospheres. The leakage current densities of the Fe-doped SrTiO3 thin films are about 10-6-10-5 A·cm-2 at an applied electric field of 100 kV·cm-1, and the conduction mechanism of the thin film capacitors with various Fe concentrations has been analyzed. The ferromagnetic properties of the Sr(Ti1-xFex)O3-δ thin films have been investigated, which can be correlated to the mixed valence ions and the effects of the grain boundary. The present results revealed the multiferroic nature of the Sr(Ti1-xFex)O3-δ thin films. The effect of the annealing environment on the room temperature magnetic and ferroelectric properties of Sr(Ti0.9Fe0.1)O3-δ thin films were also discussed in detail.

RESUMO

In this study, a specific and sensitive method for simultaneous detection of human astrovirus, human rotavirus, norovirus, sapovirus and enteric adenovirus associated with acute enteritis was developed, based on the specific dual priming oligonucleotide (DPO) system and the sensitive high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis. The DPO system-based multiplex reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) combined with HPLC assay was more sensitive than agarose gel electrophoresis analysis and real-time SYBR Green PCR assay, and showed a specificity of 100% and sensitivity of 96%-100%. The high sensitivity and specificity of the assay indicates its great potential to be a useful tool for the accurate diagnosis of enteric virus infections.

RESUMO

Few effective therapeutic options are currently available for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with brain metastases (BM). Recent evidence shows that NSCLC patients with BMs respond well to afatinib, but little is known about the underlying mechanisms. In this study, we evaluated the efficacy of afatinib in treatment of BMs in mice and investigated whether afatinib could actively penetrate the brain-blood barrier and bind to its target. NSCLC BM model was established in nude mice by intracerebral injection of PC-9.luc cells. The tumors were measured weekly using in vivo quantitative bioluminescence. The mice are administrated afatinib (15, 30 mg·kg-1·d-1, ig) for 14 d. The antitumor efficacy of afatinib was determined by tumor growth inhibition (TGI), which was calculated as [1-(change of tumor volume in treatment group/control group)×100]. Pharmacokinetic characteristics were measure in mice receiving a single dose of afatinib (30 mg/kg, ig). Pharmacodynamics of afatinib was also assessed by detecting the expression of pEGFR (Tyr1068) in brain tumor foci using immunohistochemistry. Administration of afatinib (15, 30 mg·kg-1·d-1) dose-dependently inhibited PC-9 tumor growth in the brain with a TGI of 90.2% and 105%, respectively, on d 14. After administration of afatinib (30 mg/kg), the plasma concentration of afatinib was 91.4±31.2 nmol/L at 0.5 h, reached a peak (417.1±119.9 nmol/L) at 1 h, and was still detected after 24 h. The cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) concentrations followed a similar pattern. The T1/2 values of afatinib in plasma and CSF were 5.0 and 3.7 h, respectively. The AUC(0-24 h) values for plasma and CSF were 2375.5 and 29.1 nmol/h, respectively. The plasma and CSF concentrations were correlated (r=0.844, P<0.01). Pharmacodynamics study showed that the expression levels of pEGFR were reduced by 90% 1 h after afatinib administration. The Emax was 86.5%, and the EC50 was 0.26 nmol/L. A positive correlation between CSF concentrations and pEGFR modulation was revealed. Afatinib penetrates the BBB in NSCLC BM mice and contributes to the brain tumor response. The CSF exposure level is correlated with the plasma level, which in turn is correlated with the modulation of pEGFR in the tumor tissues. The results support for the potential application of afatinib in NSCLC patients with BMs.

RESUMO

The behavior of ferroelectric domain under applied electric field is very sensitive to point defects, which can lead to high temperature dielectric relaxation behaviors. In this work, the phases, dielectric properties and ferroelectric switching behavior of strontium lead titanate ceramics were investigated. The structural characterization is confirmed by X-ray diffraction. The high dielectric tunability and high figure of merit of ceramics, especially Sr0.7Pb0.3TiO3 (SPT), imply that SPT ceramics are promising materials for tunable capacitor applications. Oxygen vacancies induced dielectric relaxation phenomenon is observed. Pinched shape hysteresis loops appeared in low temperature, low electric field or high frequency, whereas these pinched hysteresis loops also can become normal by rising temperature, enhancing electric field or lowering frequency. The pinning and depinning effect can be ascribed to the interaction between oxygen vacancies and domain switching. A qualitative model and a quantitative model are used to explain this phenomenon. Besides, polarization and oxygen treated experiment can exert an enormous influence on pinning effect and the machanisms are also discussed in this work.

RESUMO

This study aims to develop a method for determination of beta-elemene, curcumol, germacrone and neocurdione in the volatile oil of Curcuma phaeocaulis, and to provide the basis of the quality control method for the volatile oil of C. phaeocaulis and the related preparations. Based on GC-MS, the 4 main compounds were simultaneously determined, with the internal standard n-tridecane. The Agilent 19091S-433 column (0.25 microm x 250 microm x 30 m) was adopted at the temperature of 250 degrees C, the programmed temperature method (60 degrees C for 1 min, 5 degrees C x min x to 110 degrees C for 5 min, 1 degrees C x min(-1) to 140 degrees C, 5 degrees C x min(-1) to 160 degrees C, 10 degrees C x min(-1) to 240 degrees C) was used. Helium gas was used as the carrier gas at a constant flow rat of 1 mL x min(-1), with an injection volume of 1 RL. Mass spectra were taken at 70 eV; the ion-source temperature was 200 degrees C. The relation time and character acteristic ions for each target compound were determined by full scan mode and SIM, and m/z 85.1, 93.1, 121.1, 107.1 and 180.1 were the detection ions of n-tridecane, beta-elemene, curcumol, germacrone and neocurdione. As a result, beta-elemene, curcumol, germacrone and neocurdione were all detected with good separation. They were all in a good linear relationship within each concentration scope. The average recovery rates were in the range of 98.2%-101%. So, the method can be used to control the quality of the volatile of C. phaeocaulis Val. and the preparations related.

RESUMO

The change of the effective components (liquiritin, glycyrrhizic acid, liquiritigenin, isoliquiritigenin) contents of Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (GRR) before and after compatibilities in Sini decoction was studied in this paper. Taking single GRR decoction, GRR-Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (ALRP) decoction, GRR-Zingiberis Rhizoma (ZR) decoction and Sini decoction as test samples, the contents changing of the four effective components of GRR were measured by HPLC. The results showed that the contents of the four effective components of GRR in the single GRR decoction was higher than that in other samples, and the sequence was single GRR decoction > GRR-ZR decoction > GRR-ALRP decoction > Sini decoction. The contents of liquiritin were 11.18, 9.89, 9.67, 9.17 mg · g(-1); the contents of glycyrrhizic acid were 20.76, 15.58, 11.30, 8.52 mg · g(-1); the contents of liquiritigenin were 0.66, 0.57, 0.45, 0.24 mg · g(-1); the contents of isoliquiritigenin were 0.14, 0.07, 0.03, 0.01 mg · g(-1). Therefore, the effective components of GRR decreased obviously after GRR compatibility with ZR providing scientific basis for GRR relieving the strong nature of ZR. The effective components of GRR decreased sharply after GRR compatibility with ALRP providing scientific support for the material foundation research of GRR reducing the toxicity of ALRP. The effective components of GRR decreased further in Sini decoction indicating that the three medicines in Sini decoction were interactional, which reflecting the scientific connotation of the mutual-restraint/mutual-detoxication, mutual-promotion/mutual-assistance compatibilities in Sini decoction.

RESUMO

The aim of our study was to investigate the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) assessment test (CAT), serum copeptin, procalcitonin and C-reactive protein (CRP) levels as potential predictive factors for recurrence of acute exacerbation and all-cause mortality in 6 months of COPD inpatients. One hundred fifty-nine patients who met the inclusion criteria were enrolled and followed up for 6 months. The CAT scores, serum copeptin, procalcitonin and CRP levels were measured on admission and 14 days and 3 months later in all patients. The primary endpoint was recurrence of acute exacerbation in 6 months. The secondary endpoint was all-cause mortality after 6 months. The CAT scores, serum copeptin, procalcitonin and CRP levels were significantly elevated on admission and stabilized at 14 days (P < 0.01). In a univariate logistic regression analysis, CAT scores (odds ratio [OR] = 1.10), forced expiratory volume in 1 second % (OR = 1.01), serum copeptin (OR = 1.32) and CRP levels (OR = 1.01) were significantly related to recurrence of acute exacerbation in 6 months (P < 0.05). In a multivariate logistic regression model, increasing CAT scores (OR = 1.10) and serum copeptin levels (OR = 1.29) were still associated with an increased odds of exacerbation (P < 0.05). In a univariate logistic regression analysis, increasing CAT scores (OR = 1.19), forced expiratory volume in 1 second % (OR = 1.05), serum copeptin levels (OR = 1.44) and hospitalization in the previous years (OR = 1.24) were significant determinants of death over a follow-up period of 6 months (P < 0.05). But only serum copeptin (OR = 1.53) and CAT scores (OR = 1.37) were associated with mortality in multivariate logistic regression analysis. Hence, high CAT scores and serum copeptin levels link with recurrence of acute exacerbation and all-cause mortality during 6 months in patients with acute exacerbation of COPD.
