BACKGROUND: Coronary heart disease (CHD) is a common clinical cardiovascular disease. This study aimed to analyze the effects of off-pump coronary artery bypass graft on the clinical efficacy, surgical indicators, and cardiac function of patients with CHD. METHODS: We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 120 patients with CHD who were treated in our hospital from May 2017 to May 2020. And they were divided into the control group (extracorporeal coronary artery bypass graft) and the observation group (off-pump coronary artery bypass graft). The clinical efficacy, surgical indicators, cardiac function, myocardial injury, the degree of cardiac autonomic nerve imbalance, incidence of complications and quality of life one year after the operation in the 2 groups were compared. RESULTS: The total effective rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group. Intraoperative blood loss, operation time, intraoperative blood transfusion, and hospital stay in the observation group were significantly better than those in the control group. After treatment, the levels of cardiac index (CI), ejection fraction (EF), stroke volume (SV), and cardiac output (CO) in the observation group and the control group were higher than those before treatment, especially in the observation group. Compared with those before operation, CK-MB and cTnI of the two groups significantly increased at all time points after surgery. After treatment, SDNN, LF, HF, and TP of patients in the two groups increased, which was significant in the observation group. The incidence of complications such as myocardial infarction, ischemic changes, respiratory insufficiency, and intraoperative ventricular fibrillation in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group. The score of quality of life in the observation group was significantly higher than the control group. CONCLUSIONS: In the treatment of patients with CHD, off-pump coronary artery bypass graft has good clinical effects, which can significantly improve the heart function, and cardiac autonomic nerve imbalance of patients, reduce myocardial damage, decrease the incidence of complications, and improve the quality of life. Therefore, off-pump coronary artery bypass graft is worthy of clinical application.

BACKGROUND: The neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) has emerged as an inflammatory marker. However, the associations of NLR with intracranial artery stenosis (ICAS) and ischemic stroke remain unclear. This study aimed to examine the associations of NLR with ICAS and ischemic stroke among a large and high-risk population. METHODS: Participants with records of clinical characteristics were prospectively recruited from the Neurology Department and Health & Physical Examination Center of Qingdao Municipal Hospital. Logistic regression analysis was used to examine the associations of NLR with ICAS and ischemic stroke. Moreover, we also conducted parametric mediation analysis to estimate the effect of NLR on the risk of ischemic stroke mediated through ICAS. RESULTS: A total of 2989 participants were enrolled in this study. After adjusting for covariates, NLR (OR = 1.125, 95%CI 1.070-1.183) and ICAS (OR = 1.638, 95%CI 1.364-1.967) were significantly associated with ischemic stroke. Compared with the first quartile NLR, the second, third and fourth quartiles NLR were independent risk predictors for ischemic stroke (P for trend < 0.001); the third and fourth quartiles were independent predictors for ICAS (P for trend < 0.001). The mediation analysis showed that ICAS partially mediated the association between NLR and ischemic stroke, accounting for 14.4% of the total effect (P < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: NLR was significantly associated with ICAS and ischemic stroke. Besides, ICAS partially mediated the association between NLR and ischemic stroke.

OBJECTIVE: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has become an increasingly severe public health emergency. Although traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has helped to combat COVID-19, public perception of TCM remains controversial. We used the theory of planned behavior (TPB) to identify factors that affect the intention to use TCM. METHODS: A cross-sectional web-based survey of 10,824 individuals from the general public was conducted between March 16 and April 2, 2020. The participants were recruited using a snowball sampling method. Data were collected using a self-administered questionnaire, based on the TPB. The questionnaire consisted of demographic characteristics and TPB structures. Structural equation modeling was used to identify predictors of intention. RESULTS: The results indicated the model explained 77.5% and 71.9% of intention and attitude variance. Intention to use TCM had the strongest relationship with attitude (P < 0.001), followed by past behavior (P < 0.001), subjective norms (P < 0.001) and perceived behavioral control (P < 0.001). Attitudes toward TCM were significantly affected by perceived behavioral control (P < 0.001), subjective norms (P < 0.001) and cognition of TCM (P < 0.001). CONCLUSION: Attitude is a key factor in determining the intention to use TCM, followed by past behaviors, subjective norms and perceived behavioral control. Our results offer important implications for health policy makers to promote the use of TCM.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the clinical effect and safety of Chinese Children's Leukemia Group (CCLG)-ALL 2008 (high risk group) protocol in the treatment with childhood Mixed phenotype acute leukemia (MPAL). METHODS: The clinical data of 15 new diagnosed patients with MPAL treated in our hospital from January 2013 to December 2017 were retrospectively analyzed, and received CCLG-ALL 2008 (high risk group) protocol chemotherapy. RESULTS: One patient gave up treatment after diagnosed, and 14 children with MPAL after induction remission chemotherapy, 3 patients gave up, and 5 patients received consolidation chemotherapy, and 6 patients received allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT). The complete remission (CR) rate was 85.7% at d33 of induction remission chemotherapy. The serious adverse event and treatment-related mortality (TRM) rate was 71.4% and 14.3%, respectively. The recurrence rate was 21.4% and the median time of relapse was 12(9.7-18.4) months. Except for 4 patients who gave up treatment, the 5-year event-free survival (EFS) rate in the other 11 patients was (54.5±15.0)%. The 5 years EFS of 4 patients who received consolidation chemotherapy was significantly lower than the 6 patients who received allo-HSCT after CR (25.0%±21.7% vs 83.3%±15.2%, P=0.033). CONCLUSION: The CCLG-ALL2008 (for high-risk group) protocol in treatment of children with MPAL can get a high CR rate, but also with a high incidence of SAE. The patients received allo-HSCT after CR may have a good prognosis.

Helical carbon nanotube (HCNT) is a vital member of carbon nanomaterials, but little effort was devoted to explore its unique characteristics and applications during the past few decades. Here, we report an organic thermoelectric composite with an excellent photothermoelectric (PTE) effect by conformally wrapping polypyrrole (PPy) on the intricate surface of HCNTs, which have been confirmed to have remarkable near-infrared (NIR) photothermal conversion capability and ultralow heat transportation characteristics. The results indicate that with the increasing HCNT content, PPy shell thickness reduces and exhibits denser as well as partial orientation, while the inter-ring angle slowly decreases and the bipolaron becomes dominant in carrier composition gradually. Consequently, the Seebeck coefficient increases monotonically, whereas the electrical conductivity remains nearly invariant. The final composite combines the benign thermoelectric properties, excellent photothermal response performance, and the lowest thermal conductivity of the carbon-based thermoelectric composite yet reported (0.064 W m-1 K-1). A single strip NIR light-stimulated adjustable delay switch was designed and fabricated, with the open-circuit voltage and short-circuit current under a 400 mW cm-2 NIR-stimulated approach to 720 µV and 62 nA with the discrepancy of consecutive periodic output signals less than 4.2%, exhibiting incredible stability and reliability and demonstrating the highest output voltage of a single strip among the reported organic PTE composite at room temperature. Our work fills in a gap of HCNT research, which hitherto existed in the PTE and thermoelectric field.

Purpose: Sonodynamic therapy (SDT) is considered a promising therapeutic strategy for the effective elimination of cancer cells. However, developing novel sonosensitizers with potentially high SDT efficacy remains a considerable challenge. Herein, we utilized near-infrared dye IR820 nanobubbles (NBs) combined with a dual PI3K/mTOR inhibitor PI-103 for the SDT treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in vitro. Methods: The generated reactive oxygen species (ROS) were quantified using 2,7-dichlorodihydrofluorescein diacetate to determine the feasibility of using IR820 NBs as a potential sonosensitizer. The inhibition effects of the synergistic therapy was examined using the cell counting Kit 8 assay and apoptosis assay. JC-1 staining was performed to study mitochondrial membrane depolarization, and the transwell assay was used for cell migration analysis. Results: The particle size and zeta potential of IR820 NBs were 545.5±93.1 nm and -5.19±1.73 mV, respectively. ROS accumulation was observed after HepG2 cells were treated with IR820 NBs under ultrasound irradiation. The SDT combined with PI-103 group inhibited cell viability and migration more strongly than the other groups (P < 0.01). The apoptosis assay also demonstrated a relatively high anti-HCC efficacy with the synergistic therapy, while JC-1 staining showed a decrease in the mitochondrial membrane potential after the combined treatment. Conclusion: The combination of SDT and PI-103 was very effective in suppressing HCC proliferation, which might help develop new minimally invasive cancer treatment strategies.

Recently approved vaccines have already shown remarkable protection in limiting SARS-CoV-2 associated disease. However, immunologic mechanism(s) of protection, as well as how boosting alters immunity to wildtype and newly emerging strains, remain incompletely understood. Here we deeply profiled the humoral immune response in a cohort of non-human primates immunized with a stable recombinant full-length SARS-CoV-2 spike (S) glycoprotein (NVX-CoV2373) at two dose levels, administered as a single or two-dose regimen with a saponin-based adjuvant Matrix-M. While antigen dose had some effect on Fc-effector profiles, both antigen dose and boosting significantly altered overall titers, neutralization and Fc-effector profiles, driving unique vaccine-induced antibody fingerprints. Combined differences in antibody effector functions and neutralization were strongly associated with distinct levels of protection in the upper and lower respiratory tract, pointing to the presence of combined, but distinct, compartment-specific neutralization and Fc-mechanisms as key determinants of protective immunity against infection. Moreover, NVX-CoV2373 elicited antibodies functionally target emerging SARS-CoV-2 variants, collectively pointing to the critical collaborative role for Fab and Fc in driving maximal protection against SARS-CoV-2. Collectively, the data presented here suggest that a single dose may prevent disease, but that two doses may be essential to block further transmission of SARS-CoV-2 and emerging variants. BACKGROUND: Obesity is a fundamental factor in metabolic disorders such as hyperlipidemia, insulin resistance, fatty liver, and atherosclerosis. However, effective preventive measures are still lacking. This study aimed to investigate different surgical protocols for removing partial adipose tissue before the onset of obesity and determine whether, and by which protocol, preliminary adipose removal could exert potent preventive effects against diet-induced metabolic disorders. METHODS: Male low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDL-R) knockout (KO) mice were randomly divided into four groups and subjected to epididymal fat removal (Epi-FR) surgery, subcutaneous fat removal (suQ-FR) surgery, both subcutaneous and epididymal fat removal (Epi + suQ-FR) surgery, or sham-operation. After 1 week of recovery, all mice were given a high-fat diet (HFD) for 10 weeks to induce metabolic disorders. RESULTS: In the Epi-FR group and the sham-operated group, the mean numbers of the residual subcutaneous fat were 28.59 mg/g and 18.56 mg/g, respectively. The expression of relative genes such as Pparg, Cebpa, Dgat2, Fabp4 and Cd36 in the residual subcutaneous fat increased 2.62, 3.90, 3.11, 2.06, 1.78 times in the Epi-FR group compared with that in the sham-operated group. Whereas in the other fat-removal groups, the residual fat depots had no significant change in either size or gene expression, as compared with those of the sham-operated group. Plasma lipid and glucose levels and insulin sensitivity, as detected by the glucose tolerance test, were not significantly alleviated in the three fat removal groups. Liver mass or lipid content was not attenuated in any of the three fat removal groups. The atherosclerosis burdens in the entire inner aorta and aortic root did not decrease in any of the three fat removal groups. CONCLUSIONS: Our data suggest that removal of epididymal adipose or subcutaneous adipose alone or in combination before the onset of obesity did not protect against hyperlipidemia, insulin resistance, fatty liver, or atherosclerosis in LDL-R KO mice fed with a HFD. Hence, adipose removal possibly does not represent a potential approach in preventing obesity-related metabolic disorders in the obesity-susceptible population.

BACKGROUND: Ocular changes are traditionally associated with only a few hepatobiliary diseases. These changes are non-specific and have a low detection rate, limiting their potential use as clinically independent diagnostic features. Therefore, we aimed to engineer deep learning models to establish associations between ocular features and major hepatobiliary diseases and to advance automated screening and identification of hepatobiliary diseases from ocular images. METHODS: We did a multicentre, prospective study to develop models using slit-lamp or retinal fundus images from participants in three hepatobiliary departments and two medical examination centres. Included participants were older than 18 years and had complete clinical information; participants diagnosed with acute hepatobiliary diseases were excluded. We trained seven slit-lamp models and seven fundus models (with or without hepatobiliary disease [screening model] or one specific disease type within six categories [identifying model]) using a development dataset, and we tested the models with an external test dataset. Additionally, we did a visual explanation and occlusion test. Model performances were evaluated using the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUROC), sensitivity, specificity, and F1* score. FINDINGS: Between Dec 16, 2018, and July 31, 2019, we collected data from 1252 participants (from the Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, the Department of Infectious Diseases of the Affiliated Huadu Hospital of Southern Medical University, and the Nantian Medical Centre of Aikang Health Care [Guangzhou, China]) for the development dataset; between Aug 14, 2019, and Jan 31, 2020, we collected data from 537 participants (from the Department of Infectious Diseases of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University and the Huanshidong Medical Centre of Aikang Health Care [Guangzhou, China]) for the test dataset. The AUROC for screening for hepatobiliary diseases of the slit-lamp model was 0·74 (95% CI 0·71-0·76), whereas that of the fundus model was 0·68 (0·65-0·71). For the identification of hepatobiliary diseases, the AUROCs were 0·93 (0·91-0·94; slit-lamp) and 0·84 (0·81-0·86; fundus) for liver cancer, 0·90 (0·88-0·91; slit-lamp) and 0·83 (0·81-0·86; fundus) for liver cirrhosis, and ranged 0·58-0·69 (0·55-0·71; slit-lamp) and 0·62-0·70 (0·58-0·73; fundus) for other hepatobiliary diseases, including chronic viral hepatitis, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, cholelithiasis, and hepatic cyst. In addition to the conjunctiva and sclera, our deep learning model revealed that the structures of the iris and fundus also contributed to the classification. INTERPRETATION: Our study established qualitative associations between ocular features and major hepatobiliary diseases, providing a non-invasive, convenient, and complementary method for hepatobiliary disease screening and identification, which could be applied as an opportunistic screening tool. BACKGROUND: Phantom limb pain (PLP) is a prevalent problem for children after amputation because of the chemotherapy treatment. Gabapentin is a potential option to manage PLP after amputation in pediatric oncology. However, no systematic review specifically investigated this topic. Thus, this study aims to appraise the efficacy and safety of gabapentin for post-amputation PLP in pediatric oncology. METHODS: Electronic databases (Cochrane Library, MEDLINE, EMBASE, Web of Science, CINAHL, PsychINFO, Scopus, WANGFANG, and Chinese Biomedical Literature Database) will be systematically searched from the beginning to the present without limitations to publication status and language. Primary outcome is pain intensity. Secondary outcomes are analgesic drug consumption, sleep quality, depression, anxiety, health-related quality of life, and adverse events. The treatment effect of all dichotomous outcome data will be estimated as risk ratio and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) and that of continuous outcome data will be calculated as mean difference or standardized mean difference and 95% CIs. Methodological quality of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) will be assessed using Cochrane risk of bias tool and that of case-controlled studies (CCSs) will be appraised using Newcastle-Ottawa Tool. Statistical analysis will be conducted using RevMan 5.3 software. DISCUSSION: This study will summarize up-to-date high-quality RCTs and CCSs to assess the efficacy and safety of gabapentin for PLP after amputation in pediatric oncology. Aldolase A (ALDOA) facilitated aerobic glycolysis in cancer cells is a potential target in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, only few effective inhibitors of ALDOA have been reported until now. In this research, we found a polysaccharide called HDPS-4II from Holotrichia diomphalia Bates, which can specifically bind to ALDOA with a dissociation constant of 2.86 µM. HDPS-4II with a molecular weight of 19 kDa was a linear triple-helix glucan composed of ɑ-d-1,4-Glcp and ɑ-d-1,6-Glcp in a ratio of 1.0:10.0. HDPS-4II significantly inhibited aldolase enzyme activity, glycolysis, and further inhibited the expression of phosphorylated AMPKα in HCC cells. Through analyzing ALDOA-overexpressing and -knockdown cells, it was confirmed that ALDOA mediated the viability and glycolysis inhibition of HDPS-4II. Moreover, HDPS-4II administration markedly inhibited tumor growth in mice xenografted with HCCs. These findings suggest that HDPS-4II, as an ALDOA antagonist, is a promising remedy in the treatment and prevention of HCC.

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread throughout the world with an urgent need for a safe and protective vaccine to effectuate herd protection and control the spread of SARS-CoV-2. Here, we report the development of a SARS-CoV-2 subunit vaccine (NVX-CoV2373) from the full-length spike (S) protein that is stable in the prefusion conformation. NVX-CoV2373 S form 27.2-nm nanoparticles that are thermostable and bind with high affinity to the human angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (hACE2) receptor. In mice, low-dose NVX-CoV2373 with saponin-based Matrix-M adjuvant elicit high titer anti-S IgG that blocks hACE2 receptor binding, neutralize virus, and protects against SARS-CoV-2 challenge with no evidence of vaccine-associated enhanced respiratory disease. NVX-CoV2373 also elicits multifunctional CD4+ and CD8+ T cells, CD4+ follicular helper T cells (Tfh), and antigen-specific germinal center (GC) B cells in the spleen. In baboons, low-dose levels of NVX-CoV2373 with Matrix-M was also highly immunogenic and elicited high titer anti-S antibodies and functional antibodies that block S-protein binding to hACE2 and neutralize virus infection and antigen-specific T cells. These results support the ongoing phase 1/2 clinical evaluation of the safety and immunogenicity of NVX-CoV2373 with Matrix-M (NCT04368988).

The hybrid networks of cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) and graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) were constructed in polyethylene glycol (PEG) through the common solution compounding processing, in which GNPs provided the thermally conductive path while CNCs restricted the leakage of PEG during the phase transition. The results showed that CNCs greatly enhanced the shape stability of the composite phase change materials (PCMs) while thermal conductivity was still maintained at high level. At the contents of 8 wt% (CNCs) and 4 wt% (GNPs), the enthalpy of the composite PCM was 145.5 J/g, which was 88 % of pure PEG, and the thermal conductivity was 2.018±0.067 W/m K about 563.7 % higher than that of pure PEG. Furthermore, the composite PCMs exhibited outstanding light-thermal and electro-thermal conversion capabilities. Furthermore, the composite PCMs could be designed as the temperature stabilizing component exhibiting intelligent adaptive thermal management role, providing stable temperature condition for electronic devices in extreme environment.

Background: Ischemic stroke is a complex pathological process, involving inflammatory reaction, energy metabolism disorder, free radical injury, cell apoptosis and other aspects. Accumulating evidences have revealed that MFG-E8 had a protective effect on multiple organ injuries. However, the comprehensive function and mechanism of MFG-E8 in ischemic brain remain largely unclear.Methods: BV-2 cells were treated with recombinant murine MFG-E8 (rmMFG-E8) or/and Colivelin TFA after exposing for 4 h with oxygen glucose deprivation (OGD). Cell viability and apoptosis were assessed by MTT assay and Flow cytometry. RT-qPCR and Western blot assays were applied to examine the expression levels of MFG-E8, apoptosis-related proteins and M1/M2 polarization markers.Results: Our results demonstrated that OGD significantly inhibited microglial viability and facilitated apoptosis. In addition, we found that OGD downregulated MFG-E8 expression, and MFG-E8 inhibited OGD-induced microglial apoptosis and promoted microglial M2 polarization. In terms of mechanism, we proved that MFG-E8 regulated OGD-induced microglial M1/M2 polarization by inhibiting p-STAT3 and SOCS3 expressions, which was reversed by STAT3 activator (Colivelin TFA). Finally, we verified MFG-E8 alleviated OGD-induced neuronal cell apoptosis by M2 polarization of BV-2 cells.Conclusions: We demonstrated that MFG-E8 reduced neuronal cell apoptosis by enhancing activation of microglia via STAT3 signaling. Therefore, we suggested that MFG-E8 might provide a novel mechanism for ischemic stroke.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: We aimed to explore the association between blood pressure, intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis (ICAS) risks and ICAS burden in the Chinese population. METHODS: A retrospective hospital-based multi-center case-control study with large sample size was conducted. 1055 ICAS patients and 1296 non-ICAS subjects with complete clinical information and intracranial artery evaluation were identified between 2014 and 2019. Cerebral arteries were evaluated by magnetic resonance angiography, and/or computed tomography, and/or digital subtraction angiography. Two or more neurologists were involved in reading and assessment of images. The association between ICAS and burden of ICAS with blood pressure was evaluated with univariate logistic models and multivariate logistic models. RESULTS: With every increase of 10 mmHg in systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and pulse pressure, the odds of ICAS increased by 32%, 28% and 35% in multivariate analysis, respectively (odds ratio = 1.32, 1.28, and 1.35 respectively, all p < 0.001). Similarly, every increment of 10 mmHg in systolic blood pressure and pulse pressure was associated with an increased risk of ICAS burden (each odds ratio = 1.08, p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, and pulse pressure were associated with the risk of ICAS in a dose-response manner. Moreover, higher systolic blood pressure and pulse pressure could lead to higher ICAS burdens.

RESUMO

In 2019, an outbreak of Mycoplasma pneumoniae occurred at a military academy in China. The attack rate (10.08%,60/595) was significantly different among the units. High-intensity training and crowded environments to which cadets are exposed are the high risk factors for the outbreak of M. pneumoniae. In-time prevention and control measures effectively controlled the spread of the epidemic.

BACKGROUND: To report the application of supermicroscopy combined with arterio-venolization without venous anastomosis for replantation of digits following traumatic amputation in young children. CASE SUMMARY: In March 2016, we treated two children aged 2 years and 7 years with traumatic digit amputation, no venous anastomosis, and bilateral digital inherent arteries on the palmar side. Supermicroscopy combined with an arteriovenous technique was adopted to improve the replantation surgery. Postoperative management involved auxiliary treatments such as anticoagulation, composure, anti-inflammatory drugs, and insulation. After treatment, the amputated fingers survived completely without major complications, with good recovery. CONCLUSION: Supermicroscopy combined with arterio-venolization is a safe and effective approach to treat traumatic digit amputation in young children without venous anastomosis.

ß-amyloid is an important factor in the pathophysiology of Alzheimer's disease. This study investigates ß-amyloid's role in the regulation of nociception in mice. Pretreated once, 2 weeks prior to testing with ß-amyloid, male ICR mice were examined on various nociceptive tests. Pretreatment with ß-amyloid reversed the nociceptive effects induced by intraperitoneally administered acetic acid (writhing response) and intraplantar injection of 5% formalin into the hind paw. ß-amyloid pretreatment also elevated the threshold for nociception in the mechanical von Frey test. Additionally, p-CREB and p-ERK levels in the spinal cord and the adrenal gland increased after formalin injection. Pretreatment with ß-amyloid attenuated formalin­induced overexpression of p-CREB and p-ERK in the spinal cord and the adrenal gland. Our results suggest that chemical and mechanical nociception appear to be altered in ß-amyloid-treated animals. Furthermore, the reduction of nociception by ß-amyloid in the formalin pain model appears to be mediated, at least in part, by the suppression of p-CREB and p-ERK level in the spinal cord and the adrenal gland.

In this meta-analysis, we systematically investigated the correlation between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and pancreatic cancer (PC) risk. We searched PubMed, Network Science, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), China Science and Technology Periodical Database (VIP), and Wanfang databases up to January 2020 for studies on PC risk-associated SNPs. We identified 45 case-control studies (36,360 PC patients and 54,752 non-cancer individuals) relating to investigations of 27 genes and 54 SNPs for this meta-analysis. Direct meta-analysis followed by network meta-analysis and Thakkinstian algorithm analysis showed that homozygous genetic models for CTLA-4 rs231775 (OR =0.326; 95% CI: 0.218-0.488) and VDR rs2228570 (OR = 1.976; 95% CI: 1.496-2.611) and additive gene model for TP53 rs9895829 (OR = 1.231; 95% CI: 1.143-1.326) were significantly associated with PC risk. TP53 rs9895829 was the most optimal SNP for diagnosing PC susceptibility with a false positive report probability < 0.2 at a stringent prior probability value of 0.00001. This systematic review and meta-analysis suggests that TP53 rs9895829, VDR rs2228570, and CTLA-4 rs231775 are significantly associated with PC risk. We also demonstrate that TP53 rs9895829 is a potential diagnostic biomarker for estimating PC risk.
