Background: Considerable evidence suggests that the heterogeneity of ovarian cancer (OC) is a major cause of treatment failure. Single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) is a powerful tool to analyse the heterogeneity of the tumour at the single-cell level, leading to a better understanding of cell function at the genetic and cellular levels. Methods: OC scRNA-seq data were extracted from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database and the FindCluster () package used for cell cluster analysis. The GSVA package was used for single-sample gene set enrichment analysis (ssGSEA) analysis to obtain a Hallmark gene set score and bulk RNA-seq data were used to analyse the key genes of OC-associated immune cell subsets. CIBERSORT was used to identify immune scores of cells and the "WGCNA" package for the weighted correlation network analysis (WGCNA). KEGG (Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes) and GO (Gene Ontology) analyses of subtype groups were performed by GSEA. Then, univariate Cox and lasso regression were performed to further establish a signature. Finally, qPCR and immunohistochemistry staining were used to evaluate the expression of signature genes in OC. Results: Two scRNA-seq (GSE154600 and GES158937) datasets were integrated to obtain 20 cell clusters. T cells or NK cells (cluster 5, 6, 7, 11), B cells (cluster 16, 19, 20) and myeloid cells (cluster 4, 9, 10) were clustered according to immune cell markers. The ssGSEA revealed that M1- and M2-like myeloid cell-related genes were significantly upregulated in P3 and P4 patients in the GSE154600 data. Immune cell analysis in TCGA-OC showed that a high abundance of M1-like tumour-associated macrophages (TAMS) predicts better survival. WGCNA, univariate Cox and lasso Cox regression established a two-gene signature (RiskScore=-0.059*CXCL13-0.034*IL26). Next, the TCGA-test and TCGA-OC were used to test the risk prediction ability of the signature, showing a good effect in the datasets. Moreover, the qPCR and immunohistochemistry staining revealed that the expression of CXCL13 and IL26 was reduced in OC tissues. Conclusion: A two-gene signature prognostic stratification system (CXCL13 and IL26) was developed based on the heterogeneity of OC immune cells to accurately evaluate the prognostic risk.

Background: 5-Methylcytidine (m5C) is the most common RNA modification and plays an important role in multiple tumors including cervical cancer (CC). We aimed to develop a novel gene signature by identifying m5C modification subtypes of CC to better predict the prognosis of patients. Methods: We obtained the expression of 13 m5C regulatory factors from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA all set, 257 patients) to determine m5C modification subtypes by the "nonnegative matrix factorization" (NMF). Then the "limma" package was used to identify differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between different subtypes. According to these DEGs, we performed Cox regression and Kaplan-Meier (KM) survival analysis to establish a novel gene signature in TCGA training set (128 patients). We also verified the risk prediction effect of gene signature in TCGA test set (129 patients), TCGA all set (257 patients) and GSE44001 (300 patients). Furthermore, a nomogram including this gene signature and clinicopathological parameters was established to predict the individual survival rate. Finally, the expression and function of these signature genes were explored by qRT-PCR, immunohistochemistry (IHC) and proliferation, colony formation, migration and invasion assays. Results: Based on consistent clustering of 13 m5C-modified genes, CC was divided into two subtypes (C1 and C2) and the C1 subtype had a worse prognosis. The 4-gene signature comprising FNDC3A, VEGFA, OPN3 and CPE was constructed. In TCGA training set and three validation sets, we found the prognosis of patients in the low-risk group was much better than that in the high-risk group. A nomogram incorporating the gene signature and T stage was constructed, and the calibration plot suggested that it could accurately predict the survival rate. The expression levels of FNDC3A, VEGFA, OPN3 and CPE were all high in cervical cancer tissues. Downregulation of FNDC3A, VEGFA or CPE expression suppressed the proliferation, migration and invasion of SiHa cells. Conclusions: Two m5C modification subtypes of CC were identified and then a 4-gene signature was established, which provide new feasible methods for clinical risk assessment and targeted therapies for CC.

Electromagnetic (EM) absorbers play an increasingly essential role in electronic information age, even towards coming intelligent life. The remarkable merits of heterointerface engineering and its peculiar EM characteristics inject a fresh and infinite vitality to design high-efficiency and stimuli-responsive EM absorbers. However, there still exist huge challenges in understanding and reinforcing these interface effects from the micro and macro perspectives. Herein, the EM response mechanisms of interfacial effects are dissected in depth, and advanced characterization as well as theoretical techniques is highly focused on. Then, the representative optimization strategies are systematically discussed with an emphasis on component selection and structural design. More importantly, the most cutting-edge smart EM functional devices based on heterointerface engineering are reported as highlights. BACKGROUND & AIMS: Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) is a primary liver cancer with high aggressiveness and extremely poor prognosis. The role of circular RNAs (circRNAs) in ICC carcinogenesis and progression remains to be determined. METHODS: CircRNA microarray was performed to screen significantly up-regulated circRNAs in paired ICC and non-tumor tissues. Colony formation, transwell, and xenograft models were used to examine the role of circRNAs in ICC proliferation and metastasis. RNA pulldown, mass spectrometry, chromatin immunoprecipitation, RNA binding protein immunoprecipitation, chromatin isolation by RNA purification, electrophoretic mobility shift assay, and luciferase reporter assays were used to explore the molecular sponge role of the circRNA via binding to miRNAs, and the interaction between circRNA and RNA-binding proteins. RESULTS: Hsa_circ_0050898, which originated from exon 1 to exon 20 of the ACTN4 gene (named as circACTN4), was significantly upregulated in ICC. High circACTN4 expression was associated with enhanced tumor proliferation and metastasis in vitro and in vivo, as well as a worse prognosis following ICC resection. In addition, circACTN4 upregulated Yes-associated protein1 (YAP1) expression by sponging miR-424-5p. More importantly, circACTN4 also recruited Y-box binding protein 1 (YBX1) to stimulate Frizzled-7 (FZD7) transcription. Furthermore, circACTN4 overexpression in ICC cells enhanced the interaction between YAP1 and ß-catenin, which are the core components of the Hippo and Wnt signaling pathways, respectively. CONCLUSIONS: CircACTN4 was upregulated in ICC and promoted ICC proliferation and metastasis by acting as a molecular sponge of miR-424-5p, as well as by interacting with YBX1 to transcriptionally activate FZD7. These results suggested that circACTN4 is a potential prognostic marker and therapeutic target for ICC. LAY SUMMARY: A circular RNA (circACTN4) was highly expressed in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC). The expression level of circACTN4 was positively associated with tumor growth and metastasis through both the Hippo and Wnt signaling pathways.

Objective: The study aimed to examine the relationship between perceived stress and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) among frontline medical staff during the lockdown in Wuhan city, China, due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Methods: The study was conducted in August 2020, which included 516 medical staff between 21 to 65 years. The PTSD Checklist-Civilian, Perceived Stress Scale, Insomnia Severity Index, and Compassion Fatigue Short Scale were used. Results: The results indicated that 10.5% of the medical staff experienced PTSD symptoms, and insomnia severity mediated the effect of perceived stress on PTSD. In addition, compassion fatigue moderated the association between perceived stress and PTSD. Conclusion: The study elucidated the mechanisms underlying the association between perceived stress and PTSD. Moreover, it emphasized the importance of long-term monitoring of the mental health status of frontline medical staff who supported Wuhan. The results can serve as reference for relevant medical and health departments to formulate active interventions and preventive measures against PTSD for unsung heroes who put their lives on the line during difficult times.

This study explores the association between life satisfaction and depression among patients with cardiovascular diseases and whether this association is mediated by self-esteem. A cross-sectional study was conducted in a third-grade hospital. We examined 300 patients with cardiovascular diseases with a mean age of 62.00 years (females, 133). Life satisfaction was associated with depression. Adding self-esteem to the model weakened the strength of the association between the two. Moreover, 34.2% of the effect of life satisfaction on depression could be explained by self-esteem. We found that self-esteem could totally explain the effect of life satisfaction on depression among patients with cardiovascular diseases.

BACKGROUND: Ovarian cancer (OC) is the most lethal gynaecological tumor. Changes in glycolysis have been proven to play an important role in OC progression. We aimed to identify a novel glycolysis-related gene signature to better predict the prognosis of patients with OC. METHODS: mRNA and clinical data were obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC) and Genotype Tissue Expression (GTEx) database. The "limma" R package was used to identify glycolysis-related differentially expressed genes (DEGs). Then, a multivariate Cox proportional regression model and survival analysis were used to develop a glycolysis-related gene signature. Furthermore, the TCGA training set was divided into two internal test sets for validation, while the ICGC dataset was used as an external test set. A nomogram was constructed in the training set, and the relative proportions of 22 types of tumor-infiltrating immune cells were evaluated using the "CIBERSORT" R package. The enriched Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathways were determined by single-sample gene set enrichment analysis (ssGSEA) with the "GSVA" R package. Finally, the expression and function of the unreported signature genes ISG20 and SEH1L were explored using immunohistochemistry, western blotting, qRT-PCR, proliferation, migration, invasion and xenograft tumor assays. RESULTS: A five-gene signature comprising ANGPTL4, PYGB, ISG20, SEH1L and IRS2 was constructed. This signature could predict prognosis independent of clinical factors. A nomogram incorporating the signature and three clinical features was constructed, and the calibration plot suggested that the nomogram could accurately predict the survival rate. According to ssGSEA, the signature was associated with KEGG pathways related to axon guidance, mTOR signalling, tight junctions, etc. The proportions of tumor-infiltrating immune cells differed significantly between the high-risk group and the low-risk group. The expression levels of ISG20 and SEH1L were lower in tumor tissues than in normal tissues. Overexpression of ISG20 or SEH1L suppressed the proliferation, migration and invasion of Caov3 cells in vitro and the growth of xenograft tumors in vivo. CONCLUSION: Five glycolysis-related genes were identified and incorporated into a novel risk signature that can effectively assess the prognosis and guide the treatment of OC patients.

PURPOSE: We sought to explore the relationships among social support, health-related quality of life (HRQOL), and wound pain, and to examine whether social support would moderate the relationship between wound pain and HRQOL. DESIGN: A multicenter descriptive cross-sectional study. SUBJECTS AND SETTINGS: Individuals with chronic wounds attending wound clinics affiliated with 3 public hospitals in Beijing, China. METHODS: Sociodemographic and wound characteristics of 162 participants were retrieved from medical records. Participants completed questionnaires for wound-related pain intensity (Numerical Rating Scale), social support (Social Support Rating Scale), and HRQOL (Medical Outcome Study Short Form-36). The moderating effect analysis was examined using the PROCESS analytic tool developed by Hayes, based on the bias-corrected bootstrapping method. RESULTS: Results revealed that higher pain intensity was significantly related to lower HRQOL (P < .01), and higher social support was associated with better HRQOL (P < .01). However, there was no significant correlation between social support and wound pain (P = .55). Importantly, the moderating effect of social support on the relationship between wound pain and HRQOL was statistically significant (P = .008). CONCLUSIONS: We found that social support moderated the impact of wound pain on HRQOL in patients with chronic wounds. This finding suggests that support obtained from social networks may be a beneficial intervention to improve the HRQOL of patients with chronic wounds, especially those suffering from high-intensity wound pain.

BACKGROUND: Bullying victimization and its effect on symptoms of depression have received attention from researchers, but few studies have considered the potential mechanism. The aim of this study was to examine a moderated mediation model for the association between bullying victimization and depressive symptoms in terms of it being mediated by social anxiety, and investigated whether sleep duration would show moderating effects in this relationship. METHODS: In this study, there were 2956 students, who completed three questionnaires, including a bullying victimization scale, as well as a social anxiety and epidemiologic studies depression scale. RESULTS: Bullying victimization's effects on depressive symptoms were mediated by social anxiety. Furthermore, sleep duration moderated the relationship between bullying victimization and depressive symptoms. CONCLUSIONS: The research contributes by clarifying the mechanisms underlying the relationship between bullying victimization and depressive symptoms.

Lycorine-type alkaloids are privileged structures in drug development due to their attractive biological activities. In this paper, the carbonyl on the C ring was proved to have played a critical role in stereoselectivity during the synthesis process, and the galanthan skeleton with a cis-B/C ring is more thermodynamically stable in its presence. Furthermore, the total synthesis of (±)-ß-lycorane was successfully completed by employing the Michael addition reaction to construct the galanthan skeleton with a trans-B/C ring. This system might be applied to other structural types with similar stereochemistry setting.

Background: The objective is to compare the effects of a self-designed and self-manufactured novel prophylactic ankle brace [Chinese parachute ankle brace (CPAB)] and two ordinary ankle braces on the ankle joint during a half-squat parachute landing (HSPL) via biomechanical assessment. Methods: Twenty elite paratroopers were in four different conditions: no brace, elastic brace, semi-rigid brace, and CPAB. Each participant was instructed to jump off a platform with three different heights, 40, 80, and 120 cm, and land on the force plate in a half-squat posture. The vertical ground reaction forces (vGRFs), joint angles, moments, powers, and works were calculated. After the experiment, every participant completed the questionnaires designed for this study. Results: Increasing the dropping height increased all of the parameters significantly (P<0.01), except for time to peak vGRF (T-PvGRF). Applying three braces can all slightly increase vGRF (P=0.237) and reduce T-PvGRF by 6-10 ms, as well as decrease the joint angles, velocities, and moments on the sagittal and coronal planes. Wearing CPAB and a semi-rigid brace more efficiently restricted dorsiflexion and inversion (P<0.05), and they both significantly reduced ankle work (t=5.107, P<0.01; t=3.331, P<0.01) and peak power (t=7.237, P<0.01; t=6.711, P<0.01) at 120 cm. The total scores from low-to-high were semi-rigid brace (19.20±2.99), elastic brace (21.91±3.25), and CPAB (23.37±3.08). Conclusions: The CPAB was more effective at restricting ankle joint motion on the coronal and sagittal planes than the other two prophylactic ankle braces. Therefore, the CPAB had the advantages of a novel appearance, high efficiency, and superior comfort, providing a reliable choice for parachute jumping and training in China.

BACKGROUND: Most previous studies focused on the associations of depression and anxiety with Internet addiction (IA) have used variable-centered approaches. This study aims to explore the distinct developmental trajectories of depression and anxiety, and their association with IA based on person-centered approaches. METHODS: A total of 437 Chinese high school freshmen at the baseline were followed across one year. Latent class growth analysis (LCGA) and growth mixture modeling (GMM) were used to identify the heterogeneity of individual trajectories of depression and anxiety. RESULTS: For depression, there were three distinct trajectories identified, namely, the escalating group (n=60, 13.7%), recovery group (n=31, 7.1%), and the low-stable group (n=346, 79.2%). For anxiety, the subgroups consisted of the escalating group (n=50, 11.4%), the recovery group (n=34, 7.8%), and the low-stable group (n=353, 80.8%). The probability of IA in the depression low-stable group was significantly smaller compared to those in either the recovery group (χ2=10.794, P=0.001) or the escalating group (χ2=19.314, P<0.001). The probability of IA in the anxiety low-stable group was found to be significantly smaller than that in the recovery group (χ2=17.359, P<0.001) and the escalating group (χ2=7.752, P=0.005). LIMITATIONS: The sample was limited to students from one specific high school and had a one-year follow-up. CONCLUSIONS: The findings of the study suggest the necessity of early prevention and intervention strategies for those students with depression and anxiety, which are at elevated risk of developing IA.

BACKGROUND: It is well known that some lifestyle-related behaviors are related to depressive symptoms, but the unique and cumulative effects of lifestyle-related behaviors on depressive symptoms among Chinese adolescents are still controversial. AIMS: The aims of this study were to examine the unique and cumulative effects of lifestyle-related behaviors on depressive symptoms among Chinese adolescents, and explored the potential influences of gender difference on these associations. METHODS: We conducted a cross-sectional study among 3967 Chinese adolescents aged 11 to 19 from Jilin, China during September and October of 2018. Students reported their lifestyle factors including sleep duration, time spent on computer, time spent on television, time spent on homework, eating breakfast, smoking, drinking, physical activity, and outdoor activity. Depressive symptoms were measured using the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D). RESULTS: The prevalence of depressive symptoms was 28.2% among Chinese adolescents. Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that sleep duration <8 hour/day, time spent on homework ⩾3 hour/day, skipping breakfast, alcohol use, physical activity <3 days/week, and outdoor activity <2 hour/day were positively associated with depressive symptoms in both girls and boys. Time spent on computer ⩾2 hour/day was an independent risk predictor for depressive symptoms in males, while smoking only showed higher risk of depressive symptoms in females. There was an additive relationship between the lifestyle risk index scores and the risk of depressive symptoms for both genders, the relationship being strongest among females. CONCLUSION: The important role of lifestyle factors should be taking into consideration when create intervention programs to prevent and reduce depressive symptoms among adolescents. In addition, preventive interventions may need to focus on gender-informed approaches when targeting multiple lifestyle factors.

The present study aimed to determine the mediating effects of depression and anxiety on the association between life satisfaction and quality of life. We used the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9), Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale (GAD-7), and EuroQol Five Dimensions Questionnaire (EQ-5D) to measure depression, anxiety, and quality of life, respectively. A single question was used to measure the life satisfaction of participants. Life satisfaction was significantly related with depression (r = -0.17), anxiety (r = -0.18), and quality of life (r = 0.19). Depression and anxiety were also related to quality of life. Depression and anxiety had full mediating effects (ß = -0.274; ß = -0.208) on the association between life satisfaction and quality of life. For those with poor life satisfaction, people were more likely to have high level of depression and anxiety, which in turn experienced poor quality of life.

Various studies have found that bullying victimization is an important factor affecting depression. However, few studies have explored the underlying mechanism of this effect.  The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of bullying victimization on depression, as well as the mediating roles of internet addiction and sleep quality. The participants were 2022 Chinese junior high school students who completed questionnaires regarding bullying victimization, internet addiction, sleep quality and depression. Correlation analysis indicated that bullying victimization, poor sleep quality, internet addiction, and depression have significant, positive correlations with each other. Hayes' PROCESS macro revealed that internet addiction and sleep quality played multiple mediation roles in the relationship between bullying victimization and depression. These results suggested that effective strategies focusing on improving problematic internet use along with sleep quality may contribute to reducing the negative effect of bullying victimization on depressive symptoms.

Heterostructures with a rich phase boundary are attractive for surface-mediated microwave absorption (MA) materials. However, understanding the MA mechanisms behind the heterogeneous interface remains a challenge. Herein, a phosphine (PH3) vapor-assisted phase and structure engineering strategy was proposed to construct three-dimensional (3D) porous Ni12P5/Ni2P heterostructures as microwave absorbers and explore the role of the heterointerface in MA performance. The results indicated that the heterogeneous interface between Ni12P5 and Ni2P not only creates sufficient lattice defects for inducing dipolar polarization but also triggers uneven spatial charge distribution for enhancing interface polarization. Furthermore, the porous structure and proper component could provide an abundant heterogeneous interface to strengthen the above polarization relaxation process, thereby greatly optimizing the electromagnetic parameters and improving the MA performance. Profited by 3D porous heterostructure design, P400 could achieve the maximum reflection loss of -50.06 dB and an absorption bandwidth of 3.30 GHz with an ultrathin thickness of 1.20 mm. Furthermore, simulation results confirmed its superior ability (14.97 dB m2 at 90°) to reduce the radar cross section in practical applications. This finding may shed light on the understanding and design of advanced heterogeneous MA materials.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) samples were clustered into three energy metabolism-related molecular subtypes (C1, C2, and C3) with different prognosis using the gene expression data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO). HCC energy metabolism-related molecular subtype analysis was conducted based on the 594 energy metabolism genes. Differential expression analysis yielded 576 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) among the three subtypes, which were closely related to HCC progression. Six genes were finally selected from the 576 DEGs through LASSO-Cox regression and used in constructing a six-gene signature-associated prognostic risk model, which was validated using the TCGA internal and three GEO external validation cohorts. The risk model showed that high ANLN, ENTPD2, TRIP13, PLAC8, and G6PD expression levels were associated with bad prognosis, and high expression of ADH1C was associated with a good prognosis. The validation results showed that our risk model had a high distinguishing ability of prognosis in HCC patients. The four enriched pathways of the risk model were obtained by gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) and found to be associated with the tumorigenesis and development of HCC, including the cell cycle, Wnt signaling pathway, drug metabolism cytochrome P450, and primary bile acid biosynthesis. The risk score calculated from the established risk model in 204 samples and other clinical characteristics were used in building a nomogram with a good prognostic prediction ability (C-index = 0.746, 95% CI = 0.714-0.777). The area under the curves (AUCs) of the nomogram model in 1-, 2-, and 3-years were 0.82, 0.77, and 0.79, respectively. Then, qRT-PCR and immunohistochemistry were used to validate the mRNA expression levels of the six genes, and significant differences in mRNA and gene expression were observed among the tumor and adjacent tissues. Overall, our study divided HCC patients into three energy metabolism-related molecular subtypes with different prognosis. Then, a risk model with a good performance in prognostic prediction was built using the TCGA dataset. This model can be used as an independent prognostic evaluation index for HCC patients.

This study aims to explore the relationship between psychological distress and post-traumatic stress disorder among Chinese participants as the result of COVID-19 outbreak. This study was conducted within 1 month after COVID-19 appeared in China, it included 570 participants age from 14 to 35. The results indicated that 12.8% of all participants with the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder and the effects of psychological distress on post-traumatic stress disorder was mediated by negative coping style. Gender moderated the direct effect between psychological distress and post-traumatic stress disorder, which is a significant discovery for relevant departments to take further measures.

BACKGROUND: Previous studies have showed the independent associations between screen time, physical activity (PA), sleep duration, and depressive symptoms, but little is known about the influence of lifestyles on depressive symptoms. This study aimed to identify clustering patterns of health-related behavior in Chinese adolescents and their association with depressive symptoms. METHODS: The sample consisted of 4178 adolescent students. Screen time, physical activity, and sleep time were self-reported. The level of depressive symptoms was measured using the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale. A two-step cluster analysis was conducted to identify lifestyle patterns. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression were used to examine the associations between clusters and depressive symptoms. RESULTS: About 28.1% of participants reported depressive symptoms. Four lifestyle clusters were identified: (1) active pattern (n = 865 [20.7%]); (2) high sleep duration pattern (n = 1263 [30.2%]); (3) high screen time pattern (n = 665 [15.9%]); and (4) low physical activity-low sleep duration pattern (n = 1385[33.1%]). Cluster 1 and 2 were relatively healthy groups. Cluster 3 and 4 were at a higher risk of developing depressive symptoms than cluster 1. LIMITATIONS: This was a cross-sectional study, and causal relations could not be identified. Self-reported questionnaire instruments were used to collect data, which might have led to some recall bias. CONCLUSIONS: Clusters of lifestyle behaviors were identified, and differences in depressive symptoms were found among clusters. Public mental illness prevention strategies should expand their capacity to focus on lifestyle patterns.

In this study, we collected genes related to energy metabolism, used gene expression data from public databases to classify molecular subtypes of colon cancer (COAD) based on the genes related to energy metabolism, and further evaluated the relationships between the molecular subtypes and prognosis and clinical characteristics. Differential expression analysis of the molecular subtypes yielded 1948 differentially expressed genes (DEGs), whose functions were closely related to the occurrence and development of cancer. Based on the DEGs, we constructed a 4-gene prognostic risk model and identified the high expression of FOXD4, ENPEP, HOXC6, and ALOX15B as a risk factor associated with a high risk of developing COAD. The 4-gene signature has strong robustness and a stable predictive performance in datasets from different platforms not only in patients with early COAD but also in all patients with colon cancer. The enriched pathways of the 4-gene signature in the high- and low-risk groups obtained by GSEA were significantly related to the occurrence and development of colon cancer. Moreover, the results of qPCR, immunohistochemistry staining and Western blot assay revealed that FOXD4, ENPEP, HOXC6, and ALOX15B are over expressed in CRC tissues and cells. These results suggesting that the signature could potentially be used as a prognostic marker for clinical diagnosis.
