RESUMO

Thraulodes Ulmer, 1920 is one of the most abundant and widespread genera of Leptophlebiidae represented by 66 species (Barber-James et al. 2013; Gonçalves et al. 2013; Lima et al. 2013; Souto et al. 2014; Zúñiga et al. 2015; Boldrini et al. 2018; Campos Mariano 2019). Its distribution extends from Central Argentina in the Neotropics to the Neartic Region. For Brazil, 23 species are known (Salles Boldrini 2019), but only seven species are known from both adult and nymphal stages: T. bonito Gonçalves, Da-Silva Nessimian; T. cochunaensis Domínguez; T. daidaleus Traver Edmunds; T. jones Gonçalves, Da-Silva Nessimian; T. itatiajanus Traver Edmunds; T. schlingeri Traver Edmunds and T. traverae Thew (Thew 1960; Traver Edmunds 1967; Domínguez 1987; Lopes et al. 2003; Gonçalves et al. 2010; Gonçalves et al. 2013).

RESUMO

A new species of the previously monotypic genus Amanahyphes Salles & Molineri, 2006 is described based on the male imago, egg and nymph from the state of Bahia, Brazil. Characters and illustrations to distinguish Amanahyphes bahiensis sp. nov. from A. saguassu and all other species in Leptohyphidae are provided. Amanahyphes bahiensis sp. nov. is diagnosed as follows: in the male imago, forewing shaded slightly with brownish at basal third and penes basally fused, distally with diverging lobes, and with a short spine-like projection at midlength on lateral margin; in the nymph, femoral spines long, slender and acuminate, tarsal claws with 10-11 marginal denticles and 2+3 subapical submarginal denticles, gill formula 3/2/2/2. Geographic records of both species are amended and indicated on a map.

RESUMO

The male imago of Cloeodes irvingi Waltz & McCafferty, 1987 is described for the first time based on reared nymphs collected from the state of Pernambuco, northeastern Brazil. It is differentiated from Neotropical congeners, among other characteristics, by the marginal intercalary veins being paired, except between veins ICu1-ICu2 and ICu2-CuP where they are single and between Sc-R1 and CuP-A where they are absent; segment II of forceps with a medial constriction; and the posterior margin of the subgenital plate being rounded. The nymph of this species is redescribed based on new and original specimens. It is differentiated from Neotropical congeners, among others characteristics, by having a labrum with a dorsal arc composed of 2 + 0 + 2 long, spine-like setae, a labial palp segment III that is subquadrangular, and the fore femur with an apex that is not projected, with 2 blunt setae.

RESUMO

Miroculis stenopterus, sp. nov., is described based on material from State of Pernambuco, Northeastern Brazil. The imago of the new species can be distinguished, among other characteristics, by an uncommon forewing shape, long and narrow, similar to species of genus Microphlebia. The tentatively associated nymph can be distinguished from other species of the genus mainly by the abdominal color pattern and the ratio of labial palp segment 2 to segment 1 (1.01-1.04 x).

RESUMO

The Hydroptilidae constitute the most diverse and widespread family of Trichoptera in the world. About 90 species of microcaddisflies have been recorded from Brazil, but the northeastern region is one of the least-sampled. In this work we describe a new species of Metrichia from Pernambuco State. Furthermore, we present the first records of Flintiella andreae Angrisano 1995 and Oxyethira bettyae Thomson & Holzenthal 2012 from Brazil, and four other new records from the northeastern region.

RESUMO

Based on collections in five municipalities from southern Bahia, a new species, Paracloeodes quadridentatus sp. n., is described from Brazil. It can be distinguished, among other characteristics, by the presence of three, often four, well developed denticles on the tarsal claws, a characteristic that has never been found in other species of the genus. Besides the description of the new species, the following 14 taxa of Baetidae are recorded for the first time from the State of Bahia: Americabaetis alphus Lugo-Ortiz & McCafferty, Americabaetis labiosus Lugo-Ortiz & McCafferty, Aturbina georgei Lugo-Ortiz & McCafferty, Baetodes sp., Callibaetis sp., Camelobaetidius francischettii Salles Andrade & Da-Silva, Camelobaetidius lassance Salles & Serrão, Camelobaetidius sp. 1, Camelobaetidius sp. 2, Cloeodes cf. opacus Nieto & Richard, Cryptonympha dasilvai Salles & Francischetti, Spiritiops silvudus Lugo-Ortiz & McCafferty, Waltzoyphius fasciatus McCafferty & Lugo-Ortiz e Zelusia principalis Lugo-Ortiz & McCafferty. As this is the first survey of Baetidae from Bahia, and it was restricted to the southern part of the state, sampling efforts in other areas are extremely required and should increase considerably the number of species, or even genera, reported from the state.
