The present study aimed to describe the blood pressure (BP) control rate and 10-years arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) risk estimation among community hypertensive patients. A total of 196,803 subjects were enrolled. The control rates calculated as the intensive (SBP < 130 mmHg and DBP < 80 mmHg) and standard (SBP < 140 mmHg and DBP < 90 mmHg) threshold. Multivariable logistic analysis was employed to assess the associations between cardiovascular factors and BP control. Sensitivity, specificity and Youden's index were used to identify the ability of high risk of ASCVD estimation by different thresholds. The control rate was 16.34% and 50.25% by the intensive and standard threshold, respectively. Besides regular medication, the risk factors for BP control included older age, male, unhealthy lifestyle, obesity, dyslipidemia and abnormal FPG. 25.08% of subjects had high risk of 10-years ASCVD estimation. The sensitivity, specificity and Youden's index of intensive threshold was 84.37%, 16.15% and 0.51%, and were significantly different from 50.55%, 50.42% and 0.98% of the standard threshold, respectively. Half of community hypertensive patients did not control BP, and nearly a quarter have high risk of 10-years ASCVD risk estimation. The intensive threshold resulted in a one-third reduction in the control rate compared to the standard threshold. No matter which threshold was used, a single BP control status seemed not a suitable indicator for identification of high risk of 10-years ASCVD risk estimation.

This study aims to explore the biological actions of circular RNA (circRNA) ArfGAP with SH3 domain, ankyrin repeat and PH domain 2 (circ_ASAP2, circ_0006089) in cisplatin (DDP) resistance of gastric cancer. Circ_ASAP2, ecto-5'-nucleotidase (NT5E) and miR-330-3p were quantified by quantitative real-time PCR or western blot. The measurements of the IC50 value and cell proliferation were done using 3-[4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl]-2, 5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay. Cell colony formation, cell cycle distribution, apoptosis, migration and invasion were evaluated by the colony formation, flow cytometry and transwell assays. Dual-luciferase reporter assay was performed to confirm the targeted relationship between different molecules. The role of circ_ASAP2 in tumor growth was gauged by in vivo animal studies. Circ_ASAP2 and NT5E were overexpressed in DDP-resistant gastric cancer tissues and cells. Knockdown of circ_ASAP2 promoted DDP sensitivity, apoptosis and repressed proliferation, migration and invasion of DDP-resistant gastric cancer cells in vitro and diminished tumor growth in vivo. Moreover, NT5E was a downstream effector of circ_ASAP2 in regulating cell DDP sensitivity and functional behaviors. Mechanistically, circ_ASAP2 directly bound to miR-330-3p to promote NT5E expression. Furthermore, circ_ASAP2 modulated cell DDP sensitivity and functional behaviors by targeting miR-330-3p. Knockdown of circ_ASAP2 promoted DDP sensitivity and suppressed malignant behaviors of DDP-resistant gastric cancer cells through targeting the miR-330-3p/NT5E axis.

Catalyst deactivation is a problem of great concern for many heterogeneous reactions. Here, an urchin-like LaPO4 catalyst was easily developed for pentane-2,3-diol dehydration; it has an impressive ability to restore the activity in situ by itself during the reaction, accounting for its high stability. This facilitates the efficient production of renewable penta-1,3-diene from pentane-2,3-dione via a novel approach, where penta-2,3-diol was obtained as an intermediate in 95 % yield under mild conditions.

ABSTRACT: Partial nephrectomy (PN) has been established as the standard treatment for T1 renal tumors, and postoperative hemorrhage due to vascular complications is a rare but potentially life-threatening complication reported after PN. Thus, this study evaluated the imaging and surgical factors associated with postoperative hemorrhage after PN and the clinical results of trans-arterial embolization. A retrospective review of the institutional PN database was performed from May 2012 to January 2019, revealing that we performed 810 PN procedures at our institution. In total, 12 patients were referred to the interventional radiology department for vascular complications after the procedure. Patients with and without transarterial embolization (TAE) were age- and sex-matched with 56 patients. Preoperative imaging characteristics and operative details were considered. Univariable and multivariable analyses were used to test their eventual association with the occurrence of hemorrhage. Furthermore, renal functions at diagnosis, after operation or embolization for TAE cases, and at the last follow-up were recorded. A diagnosis of hemorrhage was made at a median of 4 (range, 0-25) days after surgery. The majority of patients (50%) presented with gross hematuria. T test revealed higher renal tumor-parenchyma contact area (TPA) (P = .0407), Length-A (P = .0136), Length-P (P = .0267), operation time (P = .0214) and estimated blood loss (P = .0043) in patients with hemorrhage than in controls. Binary logistic regression analysis identified TPA (P = .048) and estimated blood loss (P = .042) as independent predictors for postoperative hemorrhage with an area under the ROC curve of 0.705 (64% sensitivity and 79% specificity). In conclusion, the occurrence of hemorrhage after PN was associated with a larger TPA and more estimated blood loss during the procedure. In patients who underwent selective TAE, renal function remained comparable with that of controls.

Investigation of the n-butanol extract of Flos populi led to the isolation of one new phenolic glycoside, 4'-hydroxybenzyl-2-hydroxybenzoate-1'-O-ß-D-glucopyranoside (1), together with twelve known compounds, which have been determined on the basis of spectroscopic analysis including UV, IR, HR-ESI-MS and 1D/2D NMR. The antioxidant capacity of all compounds were evaluated by ABTS radical-scavenging test and ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) assay. And during a screening procedure for the anti-inflammatory activities among most compounds on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophage cells, compound 13 exhibited remarkable inhibitory effects on nitric oxide (NO), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin (IL)-6 and IL-1ß, suggesting that it might be a promising candidate as an anti-inflammatory agent.

The aim of this work was to encapsulate sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides L.) pulp oil (SBPO) by spray drying. Gum Arabic (GA) and maltodextrins (MD) were used as wall materials. The effects of several factors, including GA to MD ratio, total solids content of emulsion, wall to core ratio, and inlet air temperature, on the microencapsulation efficiency (ME) were investigated. The optimization of operation conditions was realized by response surface methodology (RSM). The optimal conditions were as follows: GA to MD ratio 2.38, total solids content 39%, wall to core ratio 5.33, and inlet air temperature 154°C. Under the optimal conditions, the ME of SBPO microcapsules was 94.96 ± 1.42%. The physicochemical properties of microcapsules were also invested. SBPO microcapsules obtained had low water activity, low moisture content, high water solubility, and high bulk density. For the morphological characteristics, cracks and pores were not observed in most microcapsules, which was beneficial for the protection of ingredients in microcapsules. The particle size of SBPO microcapsules ranged from 0.01 to 5 µm, and the mean diameter d 4,3 was 2.55 µm. The analysis results of fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) informed the presence of SBPO in microcapsules. There were no significant differences in the content of the main fatty acids in SBPO before and after spray drying. The results of oxidative stability showed that the microencapsulation by spray drying could effectively protect SBPO from oxidation and extend the shelf life of SBPO.

There has been a lot of research on flight delays. But it is more useful and difficult to estimate the departure delay time especially three hours before the scheduled time of departure, from which passengers can reasonably plan their travel time and the airline and airport staff can schedule flights more reasonably. In this paper, we develop a Spatio-temporal Graph Dual-Attention Neural Network (SGDAN) to learn the departure delay time for each flight with real-time conditions at three hours before the scheduled time of departure. Specifically, it first models the air traffic network as graph sequences, what is, using a heterogeneous graph to model a flight and its adjacent flights with the same departure or arrival airport in a special time interval, and using a sequence to model the flight and its previous flights that share the same aircraft. The main contributions of this paper are using heterogeneous graph-level attention to learn the influence between the flight and its adjacent flight together with sequence-level attention to learn the influence between the flight and its previous flight in the flight sequence. With aggregating features from the learned influence from both graph-level and sequence-level attention, SGDAN can generate node embedding to estimate the departure delay time. Experiments on a real-world large-scale data set show that SGDAN produces better results than state-of-the-art models in the accurate flight delay time estimation task.

OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to estimate the clinical effects of allogeneic acellular dermal matrix (ADM) in the surgical therapy of anterior urethral stricture (AUS). METHODS: We retrospectively collected the clinical data of 49 patients with AUS who underwent urethral repair surgery with ADM in the Department of Urology of the Peking University People's Hospital, and in the First Affiliated Hospital of the People's Liberation Army, from September 2015 to January 2019. The changes in urine flow rate and conditions of urethral mucosal coverage were observed as well as complications and outcomes, and statistical analysis was performed. RESULTS: The average maximum urine flow rates at the 1st, 6th, and 12th month post-surgery were 16.3 ± 1.5, 15.0 ± 1.9, and 14.6 ± 2.1 mL/s, respectively. These values were significantly higher than the preoperative maximum urine flow rate, 1.3 ± 0.5 mL/s (p < 0.05). Cystoscopy was performed in 11 patients 12 months after surgery, with microscopic assessment revealing good urethral epithelial mucosal coverage. Only 2 patients developed infection 2-4 weeks after surgery, while 7 patients developed noninfective urethral restricture 6-10 months after surgery and 1 patient developed urinary fistula 5 months after surgery. All of these statuses improved after receiving appropriate treatment. CONCLUSIONS: Use of ADM represents a new option for the surgical management of AUS repair and reconstruction, with positive clinical effects. In addition, it has the advantages of convenient for operation procedures and access, with no need for additional sampling surgery.

Nanozymes have emerged as enzyme-mimicking nanomaterials to overcome the low stability and high cost of some natural enzymes. The design and fabrication of nanozymes with superior performance to natural enzymes are in urgent demand. Single-atom catalysts offer the unique characteristics of maximum atomic utilization, and are an excellent candidate for nanozymes. However, most of the reported synthesis methods for single-atom catalysts require the preparation of supports for single-atom catalysts in advance, which requires multiple steps and calcination in a high temperature atmosphere. Herein, Cu-N-C single-atom nanozymes (Cu-N-C SAzymes) were successfully designed via a one-pot solvothermal method. Cu-N-C SAzymes exhibited excellent peroxidase-mimicking activity that is superior to some other related nanoparticles. The mechanism study revealed that H2O2 was catalyzed by Cu-N-C SAzymes to generate reactive oxygen species. Furthermore, based on the excellent peroxidase-mimicking activity of the Cu-N-C SAzymes, a simple and sensitive detection method for H2O2 and glucose has been developed.

Objective: The seroepidemiologic study aimed to delineate the immune status against tetanus in Hangzhou and its influential factors to provide evidence on strategies for tetanus prevention. Methods: We used a multi-stage stratified random sampling method to recruit participants from several Community Health Centers in Hangzhou during 2009-2018. Demographic data and vaccination histories of all subjects born during the period from 2004 to 2018 were collected from Hangzhou Immunization Information System (HZIIS), while the data of all subjects born before 2003 were acquired through case investigation. We used Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) to detect Immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies against tetanus in serum samples and univariate and multivariate analysis to detect association between level of tetanus IgG and related factors. Results: A total of 3695 subjects were included, of which were 1904 males and 1791 females. About 59.84% of people had a clear immunization history of tetanus-toxoid-containing vaccines (TTCVs). The percentage of people whose tetanus IgG antibody titers were above the minimum protective level (0.1 IU/ml) was 76.02% (95% CI: 74.6-77.4%) and the geometric mean concentration (GMC) for tetanus IgG was 1.70 IU/ml. Antibody levels of people were higher in rural areas than in urban areas, in males than in females, in subjects who had inoculation vaccine history than those without inoculation of vaccine or with unknown history, and lower in groups aged >15 y compared to <15 y. Conclusions: The positive rate and GMC of tetanus IgG were significantly influenced by gender, age and immunization history of TTCVs. We should seek to achieve early and timely infant vaccination and maintain high coverage of the complete 3-dose primary series plus 3-dose booster series prior to adolescence. Besides basic immunization, we should stress the importance of using booster doses of tetanus vaccine in adolescents and adults; it is necessary to adopt corresponding immunization measures for women at childbearing age.

The Fenton reaction is regarded as an advanced oxidation process that can efficiently remediate environmental pollutants. However, the one-time irreversible consumption of its catalysts raises the cost in practical application. Herein, we report the generation of active Fe2+ sites via photo-reduction by photogenerated electrons on a TiO2 nanotube-based catalyst (TNT(Pd)/Fe2O3) with Fe2O3 decorated on the outside wall, while the inside cavity entrapped Pd nanoparticles. Fenton catalytic investigations under visible light show that TNT(Pd)/Fe2O3 displays superior methyl orange degradation activity with 90% removal in 10 minutes. The kinetic constant is 4.3 times as the sum of the pure photocatalysis and Fenton catalytic kinetic constants. The synergistic effect between the Fenton and photocatalytic reactions is further evidenced by the photocurrent and photodegradation tests. The TNT(Pd)/Fe2O3 catalyst showed no decay in the Fenton-photocatalytic performance over three successive cycles. XPS measurements after long-term stability tests revealed no loss, but a slight increase in the number of Fe2+ species. All of these results suggest that the most active Fe2+ species in the Fenton reaction can be regenerated via the reduction by photogenerated electrons. This work addressed the challenge in catalyst regeneration in the traditional Fenton reaction via photoreduction by rational combination with a photocatalyst and the realized synergistic effect between photocatalysis and the Fenton reaction.

While radical cystectomy combined with pelvic lymph node dissection (PLND) is the standard treatment for bladder cancer,the optimal range of PLND remains controversial. In addition,the prognostic value of lymph node factors is also unclear. This article reviews research advances in PLND.

The transition metal-based catalysts have great potential to boost the electrocatalytic reactions due to their flexible electronic configuration and low cost. This work developed a facile emulsion aggregation strategy to synthesize coral-like carbon-wrapped NiCo alloy (Co0.5Ni0.5/rGO) with high oxygen evolution reaction (OER) activity. The effect of alloy composition and GO content on the OER activity was evaluated in the 1 mol L-1 KOH solution. The OER mechanism of the Co0.5Ni0.5/rGO catalyst was disclosed by X-ray photoelectron spectra (XPS) and synchrotron radiation X-ray absorption spectra (XAS). The emulsion containing amphipathic graphene oxide (GO) and hydrophobic nickel/cobalt complexes induces the formation of the carbon-wrapped nanostructure. The coral-like Co0.5Ni0.5/rGO catalyst exhibits the low overpotential of 288 mV at the current density of 10 mA cm-2 and good durability, both of which are superior to the standard RuO2. The synergistic effect between nickel and cobalt effectively regulates the electronic structure and OER activity of the alloy catalysts. Moreover, the interaction between NiCo alloys and carbon shells can reduce the interfacial resistance.

An enantiomeric pair of rare cyperane-type sesquiterpenoids, (+)- and (-)-gracilistones C (1a, 1b), together with a novel norsesquiterpenoid, gracilistone D (2), bearing a bicyclic lactone system were isolated from the root bark of Acanthopanax gracilistylus using LC-MS-IT-TOF analyses. The structures and absolute configurations of 1a, 1b, and 2 were elucidated by 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and ECD spectroscopic methods. Intermediate 1b suggests a possible biosynthesis process involving compound 2. The bioassay results showed that compounds 1a, 1b, and 2 exhibited significant inhibitory effects against lipopolysaccharide-induced nitric oxide production in RAW 264.7 cells, with IC50 values of 7.7 ± 0.6, 6.8 ± 1.5, and 2.6 ± 0.4 µM, respectively. Additional docking analyses provided some perspective of this activity in human inducible nitric oxide synthase.

Nanozymes, or nanomaterials that mimic the behaviors of enzymes, are highly promising materials for biomedical applications because of their excellent chemical stability under harsh conditions, simple preparation method and lower costs compared with natural enzymes. We herein report the intrinsic oxidase-mimicking activity of molybdenum oxide nanoparticles (MoO3 NPs). MoO3 NPs catalyzed the oxidation of colorless 2,2'-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS) to green product. The catalytic mechanism of the oxidase-mimicking activity of the MoO3 NPs was investigated in detail using electron spin resonance and a radical inhibition method. The oxidation of ABTS stems from 1O2 generated from the interaction between MoO3 NPs and dissolved oxygen in the solution. Acid phosphatase (ACP) catalyzes the hydrolysis of the ascorbic acid 2-phosphate (AAP) substrate to produce ascorbic acid (AA). AA was found to fade the coloration process of the MoO3 NP-mediated ABTS oxidation. By combining the oxidase-mimicking property of the MoO3 NPs and the ACP-catalyzed hydrolysis of AAP, a novel and simple colorimetric method for detecting ACP was established. The linear range for ACP determination is 0.09-7.3 U/L with a detection limit of 0.011 U/L. This new colorimetric method was successfully applied to the detection of ACP in diluted human serum samples and screening of ACP inhibitors. The present study proposes MoO3 NPs as a new oxidase mimic for establishing various biosensing method.

Although there are many algorithms to track people that are walking, existing methods mostly fail to cope with occluded bodies in the setting of multi-person tracking with one camera. In this paper, we propose a method to use people's shadows as a clue to track them instead of treating shadows as mere noise. We introduce a novel method to track multiple people by fusing shadow data from the RGB image with skeleton data, both of which are captured by a single RGB Depth (RGB-D) camera. Skeletal tracking provides the positions of people that can be captured directly, while their shadows are used to track them when they are no longer visible. Our experiments confirm that this method can efficiently handle full occlusions. It thus has substantial value in resolving the occlusion problem in multi-person tracking, even with other kinds of cameras.

In this study, silica-polydopamine hybrids (SPDA) were fabricated by a facile and one-step heating method using dopamine and (3-aminopropyl)triethoxysilane (APTES) as the reaction reagents. It was firstly found that light illuminated-SPDA could oxidize colorless 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) to produce blue ox-TMB. The coloration process was quenched very efficiently via the addition of Cu2+. The presence of pyrophosphate ion (PPi) in the solution of light-illuminated SPDA-Cu2+-TMB induced the recovery of the coloration process. The recovery occurred because PPi coordinated with Cu2+, effectively sequestering the ion from SPDA. A calibration curve was developed that is related to the extent of absorption recovery to [PPi], making the SPDA-Cu2+-TMB system a sensitive and selective turn-on sensor for PPi detection. The limit-of-detection (LOD) for PPi was 0.06 µmol L-1 (S/N = 3) with a linear dynamic range of 0.1-30 µmol L-1 and the calibration curve of linear equation is given as: y = 0.00146x + 0.05096 (r = 0.9974). The proposed method has been successfully applied to the detection of PPi in human serum with satisfactory recovery. The simplicity, low cost, high sensitivity, good reproducibility and excellent selectivity of the PPi detection platform based on the light-induced oxidase mimicking property of SPDA makes it promising for further applications of SPDA in chemo/biosensing.

The mechanical properties of composites are highly dependent on the interfacial interaction. In the present work, inspired by marine mussel, the adhesion between energetic crystals of 1,3,5-triamino-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene (TATB) and polymer binders was improved. Three types of linear polymeric agents of glycidyl azide polymer (GAP), polyethylene glycol (PEG), and polytetramethylene ether glycol (PTMEG) were grafted onto TATB particles bridged through polydopamine (PDA) films. SEM images showed that 5% grafting contents could evidently form roughness shells on the surface. With a reinforcement at the interface produced by grafting shells, the mechanical properties of polymer-bonded explosives (PBXs) exhibited outstanding mechanical performance, especially for the PTMEG-grafting sample. Examined by the contact-angle test, the PTMEG-grafting sample possessed a value of polar component similar to that of fluoropolymer, leading to an excellent wettability of the two phases. Additionally, different contents of PTMEG were grafted to reveal that the mechanical properties could be improved even with content as little as 0.5 wt.% PTMEG. These results might highlight a correlation between interfacial interaction and macroscopic properties for mechanically energetic composites, while providing a versatile route of grafting on highly loaded composites.

Objective: To delineate seroepidemiology of pertussis in Hangzhou, to evaluate the protection levels of pertussis among healthy populations, for improving prevention strategy of pertussis.Methods: During 2009-2017, a multistage stratified random sampling method was employed to select participants included via physical examination for subjects in several Community Health Centers in Hangzhou. Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) was used to detect Immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies against pertussis in serum samples. Results were compared among 11 age groups. Univariate and multivariate analysis were used to analyze the associations among the rates of pertussis IgG seropositivity and the geometric mean concentration (GMC) levels of pertussis IgG and the related factors.Results: A total of 3360 subjects with available information were included, with 1745 male and 1615 female. Of these, 59.6% subjects had a clear immunization history of diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis vaccine (DTP). The vaccination rates of DTP had a declined trend with older age. The rate of pertussis IgG seropositivity was 69.9% (95% confidence interval: 68.3-71.5) and the GMC for pertussis IgG was 48.46 U/ml. Significantly higher seropositivity and GMC for pertussis IgG were found in subjects that had inoculation vaccine history or unknown history when compared those without inoculation of vaccine, lower in age groups <10, 20-29, and 30-39 y when compared to the other age groups evaluated.Conclusions: There are different distribution profiles both of the seropositivity and GMC for pertussis IgG for different age groups and immunization history of vaccine groups. In order to prevent pertussis occurrence, it is important to employ a booster dose of pertussis vaccine in adolescents and adults.

INTRODUCTION: Knowledge of clear cell renal cell carcinoma bone metastasis (ccRCC-BM) remains scarce. This study depicts clinical, pathological and outcome features of the disease and provides suggestions to establish prognosis prediction system more appropriate for ccRCC-BM. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Patients with ccRCC-BM had clinical, pathological data collected. Kaplan-Meier survival analysis was used for outcome profiles. Prognostic risks were evaluated using MSKCC/Motzer score. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression were performed to investigate association between clinical, pathological features and prognosis. RESULTS: In the series containing 106 ccRCC-BM patients with 4:1 male predominance, 44.3% of them had synchronous bone metastasis and 28.3% had multi-organ metastasis. Axial bone was prone to bone metastasis and the incidence of severe skeletal-related events was 54.7%. Curative bone lesion resection was performed in 70.7% patients. The median overall survival (mOS) time was 45 months for all and 32 months for those in unfavorable risk stratification. Shorter time to bone metastasis (TTBM) [OR 1.019, 95% CI (1.007, 1.031)], elderly age [OR 1.040, 95% CI (1.001, 1.080)], concomitant multi-organ metastasis [OR 3.883, 95% CI (1.375, 10.967)] and carbonic anhydrase (CA)-IX expression loss [OR 58.824, 95% CI (2.653, 1000)] were associated with poor prognosis. CONCLUSION: The outcome of ccRCC-BM remained poor in unfavorable risk stratification. Bone lesion resection accompanied by systematic therapy for selected patient could improve prognosis. Shorter TTBM, elderly age, concomitant multi-organ metastasis and the expression loss of CA-IX along with gender-bias, feasibility for surgical treatment are suggested to be incorporated in modified ccRCC-BM-specific prognosis prediction system.
