RESUMO

Cottonseed meal (CSM), which is an unconventional protein material with abundant sources, high protein content, and a relatively cheap price, can be used in poultry diets. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of CSM on slaughter performance, meat quality and meat chemical composition in Jiangnan White goslings. A total of 300 healthy 28-day-old male goslings were randomly divided into 5 treatments, with 6 pens containing 10 geese each. Five isonitrogenous and isocaloric experimental diets were formulated such that 0% (a corn-soybean meal basal diet, control), 25% (CSM25), 50% (CSM50), 75% (CSM75), and 100% (CSM100) protein from soybean meal was replaced with CSM (corresponding to 0, 6.73, 13.46, 20.18, and 26.91% CSM in the feed, respectively). On day 70, 1 goose from each pen (6 geese per treatment) was randomly selected and killed to measure the slaughter performance, meat quality, and the meat amino acid (AA) and fatty acid (FA) compositions. The results showed that dietary CSM did not affect the slaughter performance or meat quality of geese (P > 0.05). The fat content of breast muscle in the CSM100 group was higher than that in the control group (P < 0.05). A concentration of 13.46% or more dietary CSM increased the threonine content but decreased the cysteine content, and 20.18% dietary CSM also decreased the valine content (P < 0.05). Dietary CSM concentration had no effect on the content of total saturated FAs (SFAs, P > 0.05), but 20.18 and 26.91% dietary CSM increased the content of total monounsaturated FAs and decreased the content of total polyunsaturated FAs (PUFAs) and PUFA/SFA in the breast muscle of geese (P < 0.05). In conclusion, dietary CSM did not affect the slaughter performance or meat quality of geese, but the replacement of soybean meal with CSM in whole or high proportion altered the composition of AAs and FAs in breast muscle.

RESUMO

A total of 960 male Ross 308 chicks (day-old) were used to investigate the effect of age on the relationship between metabolizable energy (ME) and digestible energy (DE) for broiler chickens. Bird growth variables, nitrogen retention (NR), nitrogen digestibility (ND), as well as the relative weight of liver, pancreas, and the gastrointestinal tract were determined. Practical diets that compared 2 cereals (corn and wheat) and exogenous xylanase (0 or 16,000 BXU/kg) were evaluated at 5 ages (7, 14, 21, 28, and 35 D) in a 2 × 2 × 5 factorial arrangement of treatments with 8 replicates per treatment and started with 30 birds per replicate. A randomized block ANOVA analysis of repeated measures was performed, and a 2 × 2 × 5 factorial structure was used to investigate the 2 dietary treatment factors (cereal type and the presence of xylanase) within the 5 bird ages (7, 14, 21, 28, and 35 D), and their interactions. Apparent metabolizable energy (AME) increased linearly from 7 until 28 D of age, but (P < 0.05) decreased at 35 D of age. Digestible energy was high at 7 D of age, then dropped and remained similar (P > 0.05) from 14 to 35 D of age. The AME: DE ratio was lowest (P < 0.05) at 7 D of age but there were no (P > 0.05) differences thereafter. Cereal type and xylanase supplementation did not (P > 0.05) change the ME: DE ratio. The results indicate that determining ME before 14 D of age may give absolute values that are lower than would be obtained with older birds. ME values that are determined on older broiler chickens may overestimate the energy availability of practical feeds used in broiler starter feeds.

RESUMO

Objective: To investigate the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of a case infected with avian influenza A (H5N6) virus associated with exposure to aerosol and provide evidence for the prevention and control of human infection with avian influenza virus. Methods: Epidemiological investigation was conducted to identify the history of exposure, infection route, and disease progression. Real-time fluorescent quantitative RT-PCR was used to test the samples collected from the case, close contacts, environment and poultry market. Results: The case had no history of exposure to live poultry and poultry market. But before the onset the case had a history of exposure to the live poultry placed in a car with doors and windows closed. The samples collected from the case's lower respiratory tract and the remaining frozen chicken meat were all influenza A (H5N6) virus positive. Conclusions: The source of infection was the live poultry, and the infection route might be the exposure to aerosol in a car with doors and windows closed, where the poultry were temporarily stored. It is necessary to promote centralized poultry slaughtering, cold chain distribution and fresh poultry sale, as well as strengthen health education and establish the concept of consuming fresh poultry.

RESUMO

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of silencing Paired related homoeobox 2 (Prrx2) expression on the proliferation of breast cancer and its molecular mechanisms. Methods: Short hairpin RNA knockdown of Prrx2 was used to examine cellular effects of Prrx2. The level of Prrx2 was verified by Western blot. MTT assay was used to analyze the proliferation of breast cancer cells in vitro. To investigate the effect of Prrx2 depletion on tumor growth in vivo, a nude mouse xenograft model was performed. Results: The expression of Prrx2 decreased 91.2% in MDA-MB-231 cells and 88.7% in MCF-7 cells after transfection with interfering vectors (P<0.05). MTT assay showed that the proliferation of cells in silenced Prrx2 expression group was significantly inhibited compared with the control group (P<0.05). Nude mice transplanted tumors showed that the growth of transplanted tumors was slow after silencing Prrx2 expression, and the weight of the tumors of silenced Prrx2 expression group were smaller than those of the control group ((160.2±26.3)mg vs (365.4±19.7)mg, P<0.05). Western blot showed that silencing Prrx2 expression inhibited the expression of ß-catenin in breast cancer cell nucleus and down-regulated the activity of Wnt/ß-catenin signaling pathway. Conclusions: Silencing Prrx2 expression can effectively inhibit the proliferation and growth of breast cancer, suggesting that Prrx2 may become a new target for the treatment of breast cancer.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To retrospectively analyze the risk factors of avascular necrosis of femoral head (ANFH) after internal fixation in young and mid-aged adults. METHODS: From January 2007 to December 2017, femoral neck fracture patients (18-60 years old) treated by reduction and internal fixation were retrospectively studied in Peking University Third Hospital. We recorded their gender, age, body mass index (BMI), American Society of Anesthesiology (ASA) grade, reason of injury, fracture side, interval between injury and surgery, location of fracture line, Garden classification, Pauwels classification, reduction method (open or closed), internal fixation and reduction quality. The diagnosis of ANFH was confirmed based on X-ray and MRI images during the follow-up. The internal fixation method included cannulated compression screw (CCS) or dynamic hip screw (DHS, with or without anti-rotation screw). χ2 test and Logistic regression analysis were used to analyze the relationship between the various factors and postoperative ANFH. RESULTS: A total of 113 patients were included in this study, including 63 males and 50 females with an average age of (43.17 ± 12.34) years. They were followed up by (25.08 ± 16.17) months. ASA grade included grade I (21 cases), grade II (55 cases) and grade III (37 cases). The reasons of injury included low-energy trauma (76 cases) and high-energy (37 cases). The fracture line included subcapital type (37 cases), transverse type (74 cases) and basal type (2 cases). Garden classification included type I (3 cases), type II (46 cases), type III (39 cases) and type IV (25 cases). Pauwels classification included type I (21 cases), type II (55 cases) and type III (37 cases). Interval between injury and surgery was (3.88 ± 3.66) days, 108 patients and 5 patients performed closed and open reduction respectively. 63 patients performed CCS, and 50 patients performed DHS. The reduction quality included grade A (91 cases), grade B (18 cases) and grade C (4 cases). 18 patients developed ANFH after surgery, the incidence rate was 15.93% (18/113). The result of χ2 test showed the reason of injury (OR=0.19, P < 0.01), Garden classification (OR=0.13, P < 0.01), Pauwels classification (OR=0.12, P = 0.02), internal fixation method (OR=3.29, P = 0.04) and reduction quality (OR=0.33, P < 0.01) were significantly associated with ANFH. These five factors were further included into the Logistic regression analysis, and its results showed that the reason of injury (OR=4.11, P = 0.03) and Garden classification (OR=4.85, P = 0.04) were statistically significant. CONCLUSION: The reason of injury, Garden classification, Pauwels classification, internal fixation and reduction quality may increase the risk of ANFH after surgery, and the reason of injury and Garden classification were much more significant.

RESUMO

Salt marshes contribute to climate change mitigation because of their great capacity to store organic matter (OM) in soils. Most of the research regarding OM turnover in salt marshes in times of global change focuses on effects of rising temperature and accelerated sea-level rise, while effects of land-use change have gained little attention. The present work investigates the mechanisms by which livestock grazing can affect OM decomposition in salt marsh soils. In a grazing exclusion experiment at the mouth of the Yangtze estuary, China, we assessed soil microbial exo-enzyme activity (EEA) to gain insight into the microbial carbon (C) and nitrogen (N) demand. Additionally, we studied the decomposition of plant litter in soil using the Tea Bag Index (TBI), a widely used standardized litter bag assay to fingerprint soil decomposition dynamics. Based on EEAs, grazing markedly reduced microbial C acquisition, whereas microbial N acquisition was strongly increased. These opposing grazing effects were also evident in the decomposition of standardized plant litter: The decomposition rate constant (k) and the stabilization (S) of litter were not inversely related, as would be expected, but instead both were reduced by livestock grazing. Our data suggest that gazing effects on EEAs and litter decomposition can just partly be explained by grazing-driven soil compaction and resulting lower oxygen availability, which has previously been hypothesized as a main pathway by which grazing can reduce microbial activity in wetland soils. Instead, grazing effects on microbial nutrient demand occurs to be an at least equally important control on soil decomposition processes.

RESUMO

Objective: To present the technique and clinic effect of the combined method of proximalization of the patella and double boundle reconstruction of medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) with adductor magnus tendon autograft for the treatment of habitual dislocation of patella (HDP) in adolescent. Methods: From August 2016 to August 2018, a total of 33 consecutive skeletally immature adolescent patients (37 knees) with HDP were surgically treated in Beijing Jishuitan Hospital and were retrospectively reviewed. Among them, 10 patients (12 knees) with severe quadriceps contracture underwent the index comprehensive procedure. There were 4 males and 6 females with a mean age of (12.1±1.4) years (10 to 14 years old) at the operation. Before surgery and at the final follow-up, subjective symptoms were scored by Lysholm knee score, physical examination and radiological assessment were performed. Results: of patellar tracking were assessed by congruence angle and lateral patellofemoral angle. Results Patients were followed up for an average period of 23 months (12-36 months). No infection, patella redislocation were observed in all cases. Lysholm scores improved from 77±9 before surgery to 96±6 at the final follow-up (t= -23.155, P<0.05). There was a statistically significant improvement in the congruence angle, from 72.4°±17.2° preoperatively to -7.5°±4.8° at the final follow-up (t=21.392, P<0.01) and in the lateral patellofemoral angle, from -64.6°±9.4° preoperatively to 6.5°±3.7° at the final follow-up (t=-22.874,P<0.01). Conclusion: In this short term study, the novel comprehensive procedure, including proximalization of the patella and double boundle reconstruction of MPFL with adductor magnus tendon autograft, treats HDP effectively in skeletally immature adolescent patients with severe quadriceps contracture.

RESUMO

We report multiple magnetic phase transitions and critical behavior of the 2D charge-density wave compound TbTe3 studied by µSR measurements and dc magnetization measurements. Zero-field µSR has shown three magnetic transitions below 7 K. The longitudinal field measurements under 50 G has confirmed the first transition at T N = 6.3 K. Scaling analysis from above T N gives the critical exponent w = 0.63(5), suggesting the Ising 3D antiferromagnetic nature of the ordering, which is likely mediated by the 2D correlations. However, the obtained w = 0.81(5) below T N indicates the ferromagnetic phase, which arises over the multiphase transitions at lower temperatures. Temperature-dependent transverse frequency shift gives a relatively smaller exponent γ = 1.0(1) than the Ising 3D model. The different transitions were also observed by dc magnetization measurements, suggesting two magnetic transitions at 7.4 K and 3.1 K, which correspond to the antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic phases respectively.

RESUMO

Objective: To analyze the correlative factors of sigmoid sinus diverticulum(SSD) formation in individuals without pulsatile tinnitus based on computed tomography angiography (CTA). Methods: A hospital-based 1∶2 matched case-control study was performed on 42 cases with unilateral SSD and 84 controls for age, gender, and side-matched in Beijing Friendship Hospital affiliated to the Capital Medical University from January 2018 to December 2018.The signs including sigmoid sinus wall dehiscence, venous outflow dominance, transverse sinus stenosis, high jugular bulb, large emissary veins, degree of mastoid pneumatization (grade Ⅰ-Ⅳ) and empty sella, were detected and analyzed. Results: In SSD group and control group, there were statistically significant differences in the incidence of the sigmoid sinus wall dehiscence (66.7%(28/42) vs 19.0%(16/84)), ipsilateral transverse sinus stenosis on the dominant side of venous outflow (26.2%(11/42) vs 4.8%(4/84)), and empty sellae (19.0%(8/42) vs 7.1%(6/84))(all P<0.05).The degree of mastoid pneumatization was worse in SSD group (P<0.05). After stepwise logistic regression analysis, the sigmoid sinus wall dehiscence (P<0.01,OR=6.794,95%CI 2.530-18.245), ipsilateral transverse sinus stenosis on the dominant side (P=0.001, OR=13.293, 95%CI 2.841-62.194), and degree of mastoid pneumatization (P<0.01, OR=0.289, 95%CI 0.156-0.536) were found independently correlated with SSD. Conclusion: Sigmoid sinus wall dehiscence, ipsilateral transverse sinus stenosis on the dominant side of venous outflow and mastoid pneumatization may be some of the independent correlative factors of SSD.

RESUMO

Low electronic conductivity and large volume variation result in inferior lithium storage performance of ZnO. To overcome these shortcomings of ZnO, herein ZnO nanoparticles are encapsulated in resorcinol-formaldehyde resin-derived hard carbon and then further assembled into a 3-dimensional mesoporous framework structure using a polyvinyl pyrrolidone-derived soft carbon network. The synthesis methods include the polymerization of resorcinol-formaldehyde resin and a polyvinyl pyrrolidone-boiling method. ZnO@dual carbon has af large specific surface area (153.7 m2 g-1) and high porosity. It exhibits excellent cycling performance and high rate capability. After 350 cycles at 500 mA g-1, the ZnO@dual carbon still delivers a discharge capacity of 701 mAh g-1 while the actual discharge capacity of ZnO reaches 950.9 mAh g-1. At 2 A g-1, ZnO@dual carbon delivers the average discharge capacity of 469.6 mAh g-1. The electrochemical performance of ZnO@dual carbon is remarkably superior to those of ZnO@single carbon, pure carbon and pure ZnO nanoparticles, demonstrating the superiority of the dual carbon-assembly structure. This composite structure greatly improves the structural stability of ZnO, enhances its electron conductivity and overall electron transport capacity; which facilitates electrolyte penetration and Li ion diffusion, leading to improved cycling stability and good rate capability.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: Recently, the role of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) is vital in tumor progression. Our study aims to identify the role of SNHG16 in the metastasis of pancreatic carcinoma. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Real-Time quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-qPCR) was used to measure SNHG16 expression in 56 pancreatic carcinoma patients' tissues. Function assays, including wound healing assay, and transwell assay, were conducted to detect the effect of SNHG16 on the metastasis of pancreatic carcinoma. Besides, the luciferase assay was performed to explore the underlying mechanism. RESULTS: The expression level of SNHG16 was upregulated in pancreatic carcinoma samples compared with adjacent tissues. Moreover, cell migration and cell invasion were repressed via the knockdown of SNHG16, while cell migration and cell invasion were promoted via the overexpression of SNHG16. Moreover, the expression of miR-200a-3p was upregulated via knockdown of SNHG16 while the expression of miR-200a-3p was downregulated via the upregulation of SNHG16 in vitro. Furthermore, it was discovered that SNHG16 acted as a competing endogenous RNA via sponging miR-200a-3p in pancreatic carcinoma. CONCLUSIONS: Our study suggests that SNHG16 acts as an oncogene in pancreatic carcinoma and promotes cell metastasis via sponging miR-200a-3p, which might be a novel therapeutic strategy in pancreatic carcinoma.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: Multiple studies have unveiled that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) contribute to oncogenesis. LncRNA ARAP1 antisense RNA 1 (ARAP1-AS1) has been demonstrated to serve as an oncogene in bladder tumor and colorectal cancer. This study attempted to explore the correlation of ARAP1-AS1 expressions with clinical progress and prognosis in gastric cancer (GC) patients. PATIENTS AND METHODS: RT-PCR was carried out to examine the levels of ARAP1-AS1 in 157 GC patients. The associations between ARAP1-AS1 expression and clinicopathologic features in GC patients were analyzed using the Chi-square test. The prognostic value of abnormally expressed ARAP1-AS1 in GC patients was further analyzed via Kaplan-Meier assays and multivariate survival assays. RESULTS: The levels of ARAP1-AS1 were dramatically increased in GC samples compared with paired adjacent non-tumor specimens (p=0.01). The upregulation of ARAP1-AS1 was distinctly associated with TNM stage (p=0.010) and lymphatic metastasis (p=0.007). Further survival study revealed that patients with higher levels of ARAP1-AS1 had shorter overall survival (p=0.0020) and disease-free survival than those with lower levels of ARAP1-AS1. Finally, multivariate survival assay identified ARAP1-AS1 upregulation as an independent unfavorable prognostic factor in GC patients. CONCLUSIONS: Our preliminary results identified a novel GC-related factor, ARAP1-AS1 which may be a potential prognostic biomarker for GC patients.

RESUMO

Objective: To investigate the autofluorescence findings of retinal astrocytic hamartoma (RAH) in patients with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC). Methods: It was a retrospective case series study. Twenty-three patients (35 eyes) who were referred to Department of Internal Medicine and Department of Ophthalmology, Peking Union Medical College Hospital between November 2012 and June 2018 with established TSC-associated RAH diagnosis were included. The findings of fundus autofluorescence, fundus photos and spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) were retrospectively reviewed. RAH lesions were classified into three types based on the morphology shown in fundus photos. The fundus autofluorescence features of TSC-associated RAH were described. The Welch's test and Fisher's exact test were used for statistical analysis. Results: The patients were 8 males and 15 females aged (28±9) years old (range, 15-55 years). Seventy-two RAH lesions were examined, including 59 type 1 RAHs, 7 type 2 RAHs and 6 type 3 RAHs. According to fundus autofluorescence, type 1 RAHs could be further divided into reduced, speckled and background autofluorescence patterns, among which the hypoautofluorescence pattern accounted for the majority (69.5%, 41/59), while the speckled pattern was usually accompanied by outer retinal disorganization and discontinuation of photoreceptor outer segment as revealed by SD-OCT. No significant difference was revealed in tumor thickness for reduced, speckled and background autofluorescence patterns of type 1 RAHs [(490.2±97.9) vs. (589.2±221.6) vs. (463.0±76.2) µm respectively, F=1.426, P=0.283]. Among type 1 RAHs, the number of reduced autofluorescence pattern lesions found in perifoveal, peripapillary, inferonasal, inferotemporal, superonasal, superotemporal quadrants were 9, 4, 4, 7, 4, 13 respectively, while that of speckled autofluorescence pattern lesions were 3, 0, 3, 2, 3, 2 and background autoflurorescence pattern lesions 3, 0, 1, 1, 0, 0. No significant difference was revealed in location distribution (P=0.452) either. Type 2 RAHs featured numerous hyperautofluorescent spots or plaques, and calcification in type 2 RAHs varied in autofluorescence intensity. Type 3 RAHs, combining the features of type 1 and 2 RAHs, were characterized by central hyperautofluorescent spots and hypoautoflurescent rim, but the area of hyperautofluorescence was smaller than that of calcification as shown in fundus photos. Conclusions: In TSC, the fundus autofluorescence of RAHs varies from hypoautofluorescence to hyperautofluorescence patterns according to RAH types. The retinal involvement and calcification degree of TSC-associated RAHs could be reflected on the autofluorescence, which was beneficial to the full assessment. RESUMO

PURPOSE: To investigate the role of PRDX2 in esophageal carcinoma (ESCA). METHODS: The expression of PRDX2 was detected in ESCA tissues. And PRDX2 expression in two ESCA cell lines was knocked down. Cell proliferation, metastasis and invasion were detected in these cells. RESULTS: Here, we found that PRDX2 expression was significantly increased in ESCA tissues and was associated with a poor prognosis in ESCA patients. In addition, PRDX2 expression was significantly associated with pathological grading, infiltration degree and 5-year survival time in ESCA patients. Next, we knocked down PRDX2 expression by PRDX2-shRNA transfection in two ESCA cell lines, Eca-109 and TE-1. Proliferation analysis indicated that in vitro PRDX2 knockdown decreased growth and clone formation of ESCA cells. Scratch and transwell assays indicated that cell migration and invasion were significantly inhibited by PRDX2 knockdown. In addition, PRDX2 knockdown inhibited cell cycle of ESCA cells and down-regulated Cyclin D1-CDK4/6. Moreover, PRDX2 knockdown regulated proteins involved in mitochondrial-dependent apoptosis, including increased Bax and Caspase9/3 and decreased Bcl2. Mechanism investigation indicated that PRDX2 knockdown led to inactivation of Wnt/ß-catenin and AKT pathways. CONCLUSIONS: Our data suggest that PRDX2 may function as an oncogene in the development of ESCA via regulating Wnt/ß-catenin and AKT pathways. Our study fills a gap in the understanding of the role of PRDX2 in ESCA and provides a potential target for ESCA treatment.

OBJECTIVE: Myocardial infarction (MI) is a serious cardiac disease due to its high incidence and mortality worldwide. Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been found to play an essential role in the pathological progress of various cardiovascular diseases. ILF3-AS1 is a newly identified lncRNA, and many studies have demonstrated that ILF3-AS1 affects the development of various malignancies. However, the biological function of ILF3-AS1 and its underlying mechanism in MI are still unknown. In the present study, the function of ILF3-AS1 and the possible mechanisms against hypoxia-induced apoptosis in H9c2 cells were investigated. MATERIALS AND METHODS: H9c2 cells were exposed to hypoxia (1% O2) to mimic the in vitro model of MI. The levels of lncRNA ILF3-AS1 and microRNA miR-212-3p were measured by real-time PCR (RT-PCR). Transfection was performed to upregulate the levels of ILF3-AS1 and miR-212-3p. Western blot assays were carried out to measure protein expression. The relationship between ILF3-AS1 and miR-212-3p was verified by Dual-Luciferase reporter assay. RESULTS: We found that ILF3-AS1 was downregulated by hypoxia. Overexpression of ILF3-AS1 resulted in the relief of hypoxia-induced damage to H9c2 cells by rescuing cell viability, migration, and invasion and suppressing apoptosis, while downregulation of ILF3-AS1 had the opposite effects. Moreover, ILF3-AS1 could negatively regulate miR-212-3p expression, and upregulation of ILF3-AS1 could alleviate hypoxic injury via downregulation of miR-212-3p. Moreover, miR-212-3p negatively regulated SIRT1 expression. Further investigations revealed that ILF3-AS1 activated PI3K/Akt signaling and that application of the PI3K inhibitor LY294002 could abrogate the protective effects of ILF3-AS1 against hypoxia. CONCLUSIONS: In summary, we concluded that ILF3-AS1 provides protection against hypoxia-induced injury via the PI3K/Akt pathway, which may provide clues for the treatment of patients with MI.

RESUMO

AIM: To investigate the diagnostic performance of Liver Imaging Reporting and Data System (LI-RADS) version 2017 for diagnosing hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), by using major features only and combined major and ancillary features on computed tomography (CT). MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 147 HCC, 35 non-HCC malignancy, and 37 benign lesions in 205 patients at high risk of HCC were evaluated retrospectively, and the diagnostic performance of LI-RADS for diagnosing HCC were compared between using major features only and adopting major and ancillary features in combination. RESULTS: When using LR-5 as a predictor for diagnosing HCC, the diagnostic specificity (90.3% versus 91.7%), positive predictive value (92.3% versus 93.3%), and accuracy (68% versus 68.8%) were increased based on major and ancillary features in combination than just using major features on CT. When using LR-4/5 as a predictor for diagnosing HCC, the diagnostic sensitivity (78.9% versus 85.7%), negative predictive value (64.4% versus 72%), and accuracy (78.5% versus 82.2%) were increased while preserving a high specificity (77.8% versus 75%), according to major and ancillary features in combination rather than just using major features on CT. The LI-RADS categories of 8.7% (19/219) lesions were adjusted by adding the ancillary features on CT. CONCLUSION: Adding the ancillary features visible on CT can improve the diagnostic performance of the LI-RADS v2017 algorithm for diagnosing HCC, especially for LR-3 lesions.

RESUMO

Objective: To observe the dynamic changes of human serum albumin (HSA) level during pregnancy and study the early warning significance of HSA level on the onset of preeclampsia (PE) . Methods: Totally 369 PE pregnant women (PE group) and 309 normal pregnant women (control group) without PE who admitted in Haidian Maternal and Child Health Hospital from January 2013 to December 2017 were selected. HSA levels were tested before meeting the criterion of PE in the first trimester, the early-third trimester and the late-third trimester, the difference between the two groups were compared. The relationship between the HSA level and the incidence of complications in PE patients was analyzed. Results: (1)The mean values of HSA level in PE group and control group were (41.9±3.1) versus (40.0±2.2) g/L, (34.2±2.7) versus (35.4±2.7) g/L and (33.7±2.9) versus (36.7±3.3) g/L in the first trimester, the early-third trimester and the late-third trimester respectively, the difference in the first trimester was no significance (P>0.05), while the differences in the early-third trimester and the late-third trimester were both significant (all P<0.05). (2) The HSA level during pregnancy of PE group showed a continuous downward trend, while the control group was V-shaped trend. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis showed that PE could be early warned by the decrease of HSA level in PE group [area under curve (AUC)=0.742, cut-off value=5.97 g/L, sensitivity 70.8%, specificity 62.8%], the same result was in severe PE (AUC=0.756, cut-off value=6.85 g/L, sensitivity 70.8%, specificity 72.0%). The level of HSA was negatively correlated with the incidence of complications (r=-0.19, P<0.01). Conclusions: Excessive decrease of HSA level is an early warning factor for PE onset. The higher the baseline of HSA level and the greater the extent of pregnancy decline, the risk of PE in pregnant women is higher. The lower of HSA level in PE, the incidence of complications is higher. The excessive decrease of HSA level may be the first clinical manifestation before the onset of clinical symptoms of PE, so it may be the warning factor and one of the laboratory indicators in the PE sub-clinical stage.
