BACKGROUND: Hypertrophic scar (HTS) is a fibrotic disorder of skins and may have repercussions on the appearance as well as functions of patients. Recent studies related have shown that competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) networks centering around miRNAs may play an influential role in HTS formation. This study aimed to construct and validate a three-miRNA (miR-422a, miR-2116-3p, and miR-3187-3p) ceRNA network, and explore its potential functions. METHODS: Quantitative real­time PCR (qRT­PCR) was used to compare expression levels of miRNAs, lncRNAs, and genes between HTS and normal skin. Target lncRNAs and genes of each miRNA were predicted using starBase as well as TargetScan database to construct a distinct ceRNA network; overlapping target lncRNAs and genes of the three miRNAs were utilized to develop a three-miRNA ceRNA network. For every network, protein-protein interaction (PPI) network analysis was performed to identify its hub genes. For each network and its hub genes, Gene Oncology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analysis were conducted to explore their possible functions. RESULTS: MiR-422a, miR-2116-3p, and miR-3187-3p were all downregulated in HTS tissues and fibroblasts. MiR-422a-based ceRNA network consisted of 101 lncRNAs with 133 genes; miR-2116-3p-centered ceRNA network comprised 85 lncRNAs and 978 genes; miR-3187-3p-derived ceRNA network encompassed 84 lncRNAs as well as 1128 genes. The three-miRNA ceRNA network included 2 lncRNAs with 9 genes, where MAPK1, FOSL2, ABI2, KPNA6, CBL, lncRNA-KCNQ1OT1, and lncRNA-EBLN3P were upregulated. According to GO and KEGG analysis, these networks were consistently related to ubiquitination. Three ubiquitination-related genes (CBL, SMURF2, and USP4) were upregulated and negatively correlated with the expression levels of the three miRNAs in HTS tissues. CONCLUSIONS: This study identified a three-miRNA ceRNA network, which might take part in HTS formation and correlate with ubiquitination.

This study investigates the link between nonstandard schedules and three psychological resources salient to working parents' parental functioning (psychological distress, work-family conflict and relationship quality). Data from fathers and mothers are analysed separately, using a nationally representative sample of dual-earner parents (6190 observations from 1915 couples) drawn from the Longitudinal Study of Australian Children (LSAC). The LSAC data was collected between 2008 and 2018 (with data collected every two years). Hybrid analysis models were conducted to identify within-person changes in these psychological resources in association with moving in and out of nonstandard work schedules, as well as between-person differences between parents working standard hours and nonstandard hours. The results indicate that the connections between working nonstandard schedules and the psychological resources were patterned differently across genders. No significant differences in psychological distress were found between those working nonstandard schedules and those working standard schedules for either fathers or mothers. Fathers working nonstandard schedules had higher work-family conflict compared to fathers working standard schedules, while no such effect found for mothers. This effect for fathers was largely explained by other characteristics related to working a nonstandard schedule, rather than the schedule itself. For fathers (but not mothers), working nonstandard schedules was significantly, and potentially causally, associated with lower relationship quality (i.e. within-person effects were found). Additional supplementary analyses found the connections between work schedules and psychological resources varied somewhat across different types of schedules (i.e. evening/night shift, rotating shift and irregular shift). As one of the first nationally representative longitudinal studies to explore changes in work schedules in association with changes in parents' psychosocial resources, the impacts for fathers (particularly relationship quality) are an important line for future enquiry.

Fibroblasts (Fbs) are critical to hypertrophic scar (HTS) formation and were recently shown to be highly heterogeneous. However, Fb heterogeneity in HTSs has not been fully elucidated. In this study, we observed an increased fraction of CD39+ Fbs in HTS after screening four Fb subtypes (CD26+, CD36+, FAP+, and CD39+). CD39+ Fbs, enriched in the upper dermis, were positively correlated with scar severity. The transcriptional analysis of CD39+ and CD39- Fbs sorted from HTS revealed that IL-11 was more highly expressed in CD39+ Fbs. We then showed that IL-11 was upregulated in HTSs and that its expression was induced by TGFß1 in vitro. TGFß1 also stimulated the expression of CD39 at the transcriptional and protein levels, mediating the maintenance of the CD39+ phenotype. Furthermore, IL-11 facilitated myofibroblast activation and extracellular matrix production in both CD39+ and CD39- Fbs. Interestingly, CD39+ Fbs secreted more IL-11 on TGFß1 treatment and were less responsive to IL-11 than CD39- Fbs. Notably, a CD39 inhibitor effectively reduced stretch-induced scar formation and attenuated bleomycin-induced skin fibrosis, suggesting an antiscarring approach by targeting CD39+ Fbs.

BACKGROUND: Esophagogastric junction tumor (EGJ) is a rare but fatal disease with a rapid rising incidence worldwide in the late 20 years, and it lacks a convenient and safe method for diagnosis. The present study aimed to evaluate the potential of serum CYR61 as a biomarker for the diagnosis of EGJ tumor. METHODS: Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to estimate CYR61 levels in sera of 152 EGJ tumor patients and 137 normal controls. Receiver operating characteristics (ROC) was carried out to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy. The Mann-Whitney's U test was used to compare the difference of serum levels of CYR61 between groups. And chi-square tests were employed to estimate the correlation of the positive rate of serum CYR61 between/among subgroups. RESULTS: Serum CYR61 levels were statistically lower in EGJ tumor and early-stage EGJ tumor patients than those in normal controls (P<0.0001). The sensitivity, specificity and the area under the curve (AUC) of this biomarker in EGJ tumor were 88.2%, 43.8% and 0.691, respectively, and those for early stage of EGJ tumor were 80.0%, 66.4% and 0.722, respectively. Analyses showed that there was no correlation between the clinical data and the levels of CYR61 (P>0.05). CONCLUSION: The present study showed that CYR61 might be a potential biomarker to assist the diagnosis of EGJ tumor.

ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE: Si-Miao-Yong-An decoction (SMYAD) is a renowned traditional Chinese medicinal formula. SMYAD was originally recorded in the "Shi Shi Mi Lu", which was edited by medical scientist Chen Shi'duo during the Qing Dynasty. SMYAD has been traditionally used to treat thromboangiitis obliterans. At present, it is mainly used in clinical applications and research of cardiovascular diseases. AIM OF THE STUDY: To explore the effects of SMYAD on the pathological changes of atherosclerosis (AS) and the differentiation of monocytes, macrophages, and regulatory T (Treg) cells in apolipoprotein E knockout (ApoE-/-) mice. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Eight C57BL/6J mice, which were fed with normal diet for 16 weeks, were used as control group. Forty ApoE-/- mice were randomly divided into model group, atorvastatin group, SMYAD low-dose (SMYAD-LD) group, SMYAD medium-dose (SMYAD-MD) group, and SMYAD high-dose (SMYAD-HD) group. ApoE-/- mice were fed with western diet (WD) for 8 weeks, and the drugs were continuously administered for 8 weeks. The levels of serum total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) were measured by the esterase method. Morphological changes of the aortic sinus in mice were observed by hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining, the lipid infiltration of the aorta and aortic sinus were observed by oil red O staining, and the spleen index was calculated. The proportion of Ly6Chigh and Ly6Clow monocyte subsets, macrophages, and their M1 phenotype, as well as Treg cells in spleen were measured by flow cytometry. The expressions of cluster of differentiation 36 (CD36), scavenger receptor A1 (SRA1), lectin-like oxidized low-density lipoprotein receptor-1 (LOX-1), F4/80, and fork head frame protein 3 (FOXP3) in aortic sinus were assessed by immunohistochemical staining. The serum levels of oxidized low density lipoprotein (ox-LDL), interleukin-1ß (IL-1ß), IL-18, transforming growth factor-ß (TGF-ß), and IL-10 were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA). RESULTS: Compared with the model group, the level of serum TC and LDL-C decreased in the SMYAD group, the pathological changes of aortic sinus decreased, and lipid infiltration of aorta and aortic sinus also decreased. These decreases were accompanied by a significant downregulation of CD36, SRA1, and LOX-1. Furthermore, the proportions of Ly6Chigh pro-inflammatory monocyte subsets, macrophages, and their M1 phenotypes in spleen decreased significantly, while the proportion of Treg cells increased. In addition, while the expression of F4/80 decreased, the expression of FOXP3 increased in the aorta sinus. The levels of serum pro-inflammatory factors IL-1ß and IL-18 decreased. CONCLUSIONS: SMYAD can improve the pathological changes associated with AS and can inhibit lipid deposition in ApoE-/- mice induced by WD diet. The likely mechanism is the inhibition of the differentiation and recruitment of monocytes and macrophages, the promotion of the differentiation and recruitment of Treg cells, as well as the reduction of the secretion of pro-inflammatory factors.

BACKGROUND: Vascular supercharge and flap prefabrication are two surgical maneuvers to improve flap blood supply. Although these techniques have been studied intensively, few studies have focused on the differences between supercharge and prefabricated flaps regarding their flap survival areas, vasculatures, and hemodynamics. METHODS: In this study, 21 male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into three groups as follows: group A, single perforator flap; group B, supercharge flap; and group C, prefabricated flap. Flap survival was measured 1 week after flap elevation. Indocyanine green angiography was applied to visualize flap vascularity and to analyze flap hemodynamics. Von Willebrand factor immunohistochemical staining was applied to assess the number of microvessels in the choke zone of the abdominal wall. RESULTS: The flap survival areas were expanded significantly in the arteriovenous supercharge group and the vascular bundle prefabricated group compared with that in the single-perforator group (81.34 ± 8.12 percent and 75.51 ± 8.08 percent versus 46.27 ± 10.01 percent, respectively; p < 0.05). Hemodynamic analysis suggested that although a significant increase in arterial infusion could be achieved with flap prefabrication, the venous effusion of the prefabricated flap was the worst among the three groups, indicating greater susceptibility to compromised venous return. Active neovascularization was confirmed by an increased number of microvessels in group C. Specifically, the dilatation of choke vessels and the newly formed vessels of the prefabricated pedicle could be appreciated by indocyanine green angiographic mapping. CONCLUSIONS: Both vascular supercharge and flap prefabrication can augment the blood supply of the perforator flap but by means of different mechanisms. Because a supercharge flap is less susceptible to venous compromise, it is suggested to first consider the use of vascular supercharging when feasible.

The removal of organic pollutants from water environments is a challenging problem. Fe-based BC (Fe-BC) composites are promising catalysts for generating reactive oxygen species (ROS) for environmental remediation considering their low costs and excellent physicochemical surface characteristics. The synthesis methods, properties, applications, and the mechanism of Fe-BC for removing pollutants are reviewed. Various methods have been used to prepare Fe-BC composites, and the synthetic methods and conditions used affect the properties of the Fe-BC material, thereby influencing its pollutant removal performance. The mechanisms of pollutant removal by Fe-BC are intricate and include adsorption, degradation and reduction. Fe loading on BC could improve the performance of BC by affecting its surface area, surface functional groups and electron transfer rate. Moreover, research gaps and uncertainties that exist in the use of Fe-BC were identified. Finally, the problems that need to be solved to make Fe-BC suitable for future applications are described.

BACKGROUND: The purpose of this study was to assess conditional survival (CS) after resection of primary retroperitoneal tumors (RPTs). METHODS: The data of 1594 patients with primary RPTs who underwent surgery between 2004 and 2016 were retrieved from the Surveillance Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) database. Multivariate Cox analysis was used to identify prognostic factors affecting overall survival (OS) and cancer-specific survival (CSS). CS was used to calculate the probability of survival for an additional 3 years after the patient had survived x years, according to the formulas: COS3 = OS (x + 3) /OS (x) and CCSS3 = CSS (x + 3)/CSS (x). RESULTS: The 1-, 3-, and 5-year OS rates of all patients were 89.8, 71.8, and 60.8%, while the 1-, 3-, and 5-year CSS rates were 91.9, 77.1, and 67.8%, respectively. Age, sex, FNCLCC grade, size, multifocality, histology, and chemotherapy were independent prognostic factors for OS and CSS. Among patients who survived for 1, 3, and 5 years, the COS3 rates were 72.9, 77.9, and 79.3%, and the CCSS3 rates were 78.1, 82.7, and 85.8%, respectively. Patients with poor clinicopathological characteristics achieved greater improvements in COS3 and CCSS3 rates, and the survival gaps between OS and COS3, as well as CSS and CCSS3 were more obvious. CONCLUSION: Postoperative CS of RPTs was dynamic and increased over time. CS increased more significantly in patients with poor clinicopathological characteristics.

RESUMO

The NLRP3 inflammasome regulates innate immune and inflammatory responses by promoting pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-18 and IL-1ß. NLRP3 is one of the main factors restricting the activation of the inflammasome, which is closely related to the abundance and localization of NLRP3. A substantial number of studies have focused on specifically targeting NLRP3 to develop inhibitors against NLRP3 inflammasome. Here, we succinctly review the regulation of NLRP3 expression at DNA/chromosome, transcriptional, post-transcriptional, and translation levels. These are critical for the fine regulation of the NLRP3 inflammasome.

RESUMO

Although substantive research has devoted increasing attention to variability in human resource practices at the organization, group, and individual levels, the critical role of line managers' leadership in predicting this variability in the human resource management delivery and implementation process has been overlooked. Drawing from social information processing theory and human resource (HR) attributions theory, this study proposes that authentic leadership moderates the positive relationship between department-level high-performance work systems and employee-perceived high-performance work systems. Moreover, employee-perceived high-performance work systems can enhance employees' thriving at work through commitment-focused HR attributions (well-being and performance). Analyzing the matched data from 145 departments and 834 employees, we found that the extent to which department-level high-performance work systems are positively related to employee-perceived high-performance work systems depends on authentic leadership within departments. We also found that employee-perceived high-performance work systems will result in commitment-focused HR attributions (well-being and performance), which in turn motivate employees to thrive at work. This study sheds light on whether and how line managers' leadership influences the HR management process.

Two-dimensional carbon architectures are attracting tremendous interests for various promising applications due to their outstanding electronic and mechanical properties, although it is a great challenge to rationally devise facile and operative methodologies to engineer their structural traits owing to complex synthetic processes. Herein, for the first time, we fabricate two-dimensional carbon nanoribbons via direct thermal exfoliation of one-dimensional Ni-based metal-organic framework (MOF) nanorods, in which interconnected graphitic carbon nanocages are self-assembled into a belt-like superstructure with carbon-encapsulated Ni nanoparticles immobilized on the surface. Due to the unparalleled structural superiority, the MOF-derived carbon nanobelts exhibit excellent catalytic performances in electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution. Importantly, the practical synthetic strategy may trigger the rapid development of carbon-based superstructures in many frontier fields.

Intraperitoneal (IP) injection is a common route of anesthetic administration in mice. Ketamine-xylazine (KX) anesthesia is one of the most widely used IP protocols, but has limitations. Etomidate is an alternative to ketamine that has been used in both human and veterinary medicine yet has not been widely studied in mice. The purpose of this study was to evaluate etomidate-xylazine (EX) anesthesia as an alternative to KX. We hypothesized that EX would be as safe and effective as KX, with both sex- and strain-dependent differences. Male and female Crl:CD1(ICR), C57BL/6NCrl, BALB/cJ and NU/J mice were given a single IP dose of ketamine 100 mg/kg and xylazine 10 mg/kg or etomidate 20 mg/kg and xylazine 10 mg/kg. Sedation times were similar between KX and EX, with CD1 mice exhibiting shorter sedation times. Surgical anesthesia was achieved in 44% of EX mice, compared with 4% of KX mice. C57BL/6NCrl mice were significantly more likely to achieve surgical anesthesia when given EX (94%) or KX (18%) than were other strains. In all strains except C57BL/6NCrl mice, females were more likely to reach surgical anesthesia than males. Several mice experienced an adverse hyperexcitement response during induction, with BALB/cJ (79%) and NU/J (87%) mice given EX significantly more likely than other strains to experience hyperexcitement. EX and KX protocols had no overall differences in lowest respiration rate, lowest systolic blood pressure, lowest rectal temperature, or levels of acidosis, although the lowest heart rates were significantly higher with EX, indicating that EX and KX have similar safety profiles. Thus, EX and KX administration were associated with several significant physiologic differences when comparing sexes or individual strains. Our results indicate that EX is an equally effective sedative and a more effective surgical anesthetic than KX; however, EX is only recommended for invasive procedures in C57BL/6 mice due to the high rate of hyper-excitement and inconsistent surgical depth seen in other strains. Further study is needed to optimize EX for use in multiple mouse strains.

Re-epithelialization is a fundamental process in wound healing that involves various cytokines and cells during cutaneous barrier reconstruction. Ubiquitin-specific peptidase 15 (USP15), an important member of the deubiquitinating enzymes (DUBs), removes ubiquitin chains from target proteins and maintains protein stability. However, the dynamic role of USP15 in epithelialization remains unclear. We aimed to investigate the regulatory function of USP15 in re-epithelialization. An excisional wound splinting model was established to evaluate the re-epithelialization rate in Usp15 knockout (KO) mice. Coimmunoprecipitation (Co-IP) and mass spectrum analyses were performed to identify USP15-interacting proteins. RNA-sequencing was performed for transcriptome analysis in keratinocytes and uploaded into NODE database (http://www.biosino.org/node, accession numbers: OEP000770 and OEP000763). First, a significant delay in epithelialization was observed in the Usp15 KO mice. Moreover, inhibition of cell migration and proliferation was observed in the USP15-silenced keratinocytes (HaCaTs). Moreover, we revealed for the first time that USP15 could interact with eukaryotic initiation factor 4A-1 (EIF4A1), thereby promoting translational efficacy in keratinocytes, which is essential for keratinocyte proliferation and migration. Conclusively, the USP15-EIF4A1 complex significantly accelerated re-epithelialization in wound healing. These observations helped elucidate the function and mechanisms of USP15 in modulating re-epithelialization in wound healing, providing a promising target for refractory wound treatment.

Taking charge is an important form of proactive behavior that sustains organizational survival and individual development. Learning how to motivate employees to engage in taking-charge behavior has become one of the hot topics in the field of organizational management. Despite considerable research investigating the factors influencing taking charge, less attention has been paid to leadership-related factors, such as inclusive leadership. Based on the self-determination theory and the social information processing theory, we examined the mediating roles of psychological safety and thriving at work in the relationship between inclusive leadership and taking-charge behavior. We collected data in two stages from 205 pairs of employees and their supervisors at 17 companies in mainland China. Specifically, the results revealed that inclusive leadership promoted employees' taking-charge behavior first through psychological safety and then through thriving at work. The results describe a more detailed mechanism underlying the formation of taking-charge behavior. The results further deepen our understanding of the path from inclusive leadership to employee behavior. These findings have theoretical implications for the taking-charge literature and managerial implications for practitioners.

INTRODUCTION: Pulmonary artery intimal sarcoma (PAIS) is a rare and highly aggressive tumor, and approximately 80% of pulmonary cases occur in the pulmonary trunk. We report herein a case of retrograde extension of the sarcoma to the pulmonary valve and right ventricle, which is an uncommon manifestation of this lethal tumor. PATIENT CONCERNS: A 41-year-old woman was initially diagnosed with pulmonary thromboembolism (PTE) and transferred to our hospital. DIAGNOSIS: Computed tomographic pulmonary angiography (CTPA) showed that there are low-density filling defects in both pulmonary arteries, and the patient was diagnosed with PTE. However, the ultrasonographers considered that the lesion is a space-occupying type that involves the right ventricular outflow tract and pulmonary valve instead of PTE. Postoperative pathology confirmed the diagnosis of PAIS. INTERVENTIONS: The patient underwent resection of pulmonary artery sarcoma and endarterectomy. OUTCOMES: During the follow-up via telephone 1 month after discharge, the patient reported to have been feeling well. CONCLUSION: Owing to the rarity of the disease and its non-specific clinical manifestations, approximately half of the PAIS cases are misdiagnosed or have a delayed diagnosis. Thus, improving our understanding of the disease and facilitating its early diagnosis are essential.

Hypertrophic Scars (HTSs) are a complex fibroproliferative disorder, and their exact mechanism is still not fully understood. In this study, we first found that cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) expression was downregulated in human hypertrophic scars at the RNA and protein levels by microarray data analysis, RT-PCR, and immunofluorescence (IF) staining. To validate that this downregulation of CFTR is involved in the formation of HTSs, we then applied a mechanical overloading intervention in both wild type and CFTR-mutant mice (ΔF508). Our results showed thatΔF508 mice exhibited delayed wound healing and a significantly larger HTS on day 28. Masson staining revealed that there was more collagen deposition in the HTS, and Sirius red staining and IF staining showed a higher ratio of collagen 1/collagen 3 (Col1/Col3) in ΔF508 mice. Real-time RT-PCR showed that the proinflammatory markers were higher in ΔF508 mice in all phases of scar formation, whereas the proliferation marker was similar. Moreover, we harvested the fibroblasts from both mice. Western blotting showed that the expression of Col1 was the same in both mice, and the expression of Col3 was significantly lower in ΔF508 mice. However, in a mechanical overloading condition, the expression of Col1 was significantly higher in ΔF508 mice, and the expression of Col3 was the same in both mice. Taken together, our results indicate that the downregulation of CFTR might affect the function of fibroblasts, resulting in a lower level of collagen type 3 and a higher ratio of Col1/Col3, and thus aggravate the formation of HTSs in mechanical overloading conditions.

Polyethylene (PE) products are widely used in daily life, agriculture, and industry because of their convenience and economic value. However, PE is one of the polymer materials remarkably resistant to degradation. Current methods of plastic waste disposal pose a threat to the environment and produce microplastic particles (MPP), which becomes a global environmental concern because of its accumulation. In this study, a PE-degrading fungus Aspergillus flavus named PEDX3, was isolated from the gut contents of wax moth Galleria mellonella. The results indicated that high-density polyethylene (HDPE) MPP was degraded into the MPP with a lower molecular weight by strain PEDX3 after 28 days incubation. In addition, Fourier Transform - Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR) results showed the appearance of carbonyl groups and ether groups of MPP, which also validated the degradation of PE. Furthermore, the potential degradation enzymes were investigated by Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR). Finally, two laccase-like multicopper oxidases (LMCOs) genes, AFLA_006190 and AFLA_053930, displayed up-regulated expression during the degradation process, which may be the candidate PE-degrading enzymes. These results have demonstrated that the A. flavus strain PEDX3 has an ability to degrade microplastic particles and the two PE-degrading enzymes provide a promising application for the PE MPP remediation.

The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) is an important organelle that regulates several fundamental cellular processes, and ER dysfunction has implications for many intracellular events. The nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-like receptor family, pyrin domain-containing 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome is an intracellularly produced macromolecular complex that can trigger pyroptosis and inflammation, and its activation is induced by a variety of signals. ER stress has been found to affect NLRP3 inflammasome activation through multiple effects including the unfolded protein response (UPR), calcium or lipid metabolism, and reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation. Intriguingly, the role of ER stress in inflammasome activation has not attracted a great deal of attention. In addition, increasing evidence highlights that both ER stress and NLRP3 inflammasome activation contribute to atherosclerosis (AS). AS is a common cardiovascular disease with complex pathogenesis, and the precise mechanisms behind its pathogenesis remain to be determined. Both ER stress and the NLRP3 inflammasome have emerged as critical individual contributors of AS, and owing to the multiple associations between these two events, we speculate that they contribute to the mechanisms of pathogenesis in AS. In this review, we aim to summarize the molecular mechanisms of ER stress, NLRP3 inflammasome activation, and the cross talk between these two pathways in AS in the hopes of providing new pharmacological targets for AS treatment.

Lensless imaging based on multi-wavelength phase retrieval becomes a promising technology widely used as it has simple acquisition, miniaturized size and low-cost setup. However, measuring the sample-to-sensor distance with high accuracy, which is the key for high-resolution reconstruction, is still a challenge. In this work, we propose a multi-wavelength criterion to realize autofocusing modulation, i.e., achieving much higher accuracy in determining the sample-to-sensor distance, compared to the conventional methods. Three beams in different spectrums are adopted to illuminate the sample, and the resulting holograms are recorded by a CCD camera. The patterns calculated by performing back propagation of the recorded holograms, with exhaustively searched sample-to-sensor distance value, are adopted to access the criterion. Image sharpness can be accessed and the optimal sample-to-sensor distance can be finely determined by targeting the valley of the curve given by the criterion. Through our novel multi-wavelength based autofocusing strategy and executing further phase retrieval process, high-resolution images can be finally retrieved. The applicability and robustness of our method is validated both in simulations and experiments. Our technique provides a useful tool for multi-wavelength lensless imaging under limited experimental conditions.
