RESUMO

There is an urgent requirement to treat cellulose present in papermaking black liquor since it induces severe economic wastes and causes environmental pollution. We characterized cellulase activity at different temperatures and pH to seek thermo-alkali-stable cellulase-producing bacteria, a natural consortium of Serratia sp. AXJ-M and Arthrobacter sp. AXJ-M1 was used to improve the degradation of cellulose. Notably, the enzyme activities and the degradation rate of cellulose were increased by 30%-70% and 30% after co-culture, respectively. In addition, the addition of cosubstrates increased the degradation rate of cellulose beyond 30%. The thermo-alkali-stable endoglucanase (bcsZ) gene was derived from the strain AXJ-M and was cloned and expressed. The purified bcsZ displayed the maximum activity at 70 °C and pH 9. Mn2+, Ca2+, Mg2+ and Tween-20 had beneficial effects on the enzyme activity. Structurally, bcsZ potentially catalyzed the degradation of cellulose. The co-culture with ligninolytic activities significantly decreased target the parameters (cellulose 45% and COD 95%) while using the immobilized fluidized bed reactors (FBRs). Finally, toxicological tests and antioxidant enzyme activities indicated that the co-culture had a detoxifying effect on black liquor. Our study showed that Serratia sp. AXJ-M acts synergistically with Arthrobacter sp. AXJ-M1 may be potentially useful for bioremediation for black liquor.

CPVL (Carboxypeptidase, vitellogenic-like) is a serine carboxypeptidase which was first characterized in human macrophages. However, the function of CPVL remains unclear in a variety of tumors. The quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR), Western blotting and immunohistochemistry (IHC) assays were utilized to measure the CPVL expression. CPVL was significantly upregulated in glioma cells and tissues compared to normal cells and tissues, respectively. Moreover, high CPVL expression was correlated with advanced clinical grade and poor prognosis. Silencing of CPVL promoted glioma cell apoptosis, inhibited cell proliferation and tumorigenicity in vitro and in vivo. Ingenuity Pathway Analysis (IPA) demonstrated that CPVL silencing activated the IFN-γ/STAT1 signaling pathway, thereby inducing glioma cell apoptosis. Mechnistically, immunopurification, mass spectrometry, immunoprecipitation (IP), and glutathione S-transferase (GST) pull-down experiments elucidated that CPVL physically interacts with Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK) and downregulates the STAT1 phosphorylation through promoting p300-mediated STAT1 acetylation. For the first time, our findings revealed the crucial role of CPVL in promoting the progression of glioma through suppressing STAT1 phosphorylation. CPVL might serve as a potential prognostic biomarker and therapeutic target for the treatment of glioma.

BACKGROUND: Endometrial thickness (ET) is closely related to many gynecological symptoms. The measurement of ET is also an important tool for evaluating adverse symptoms such as bleeding in postmenopausal women. However, the significance of ET in asymptomatic women is still unclear. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between ET and the incidence of endometrial lesions in asymptomatic women after menopause, and to statistically analyze the correlation with a 5 mm cutoff value. METHODS: A systematic literature search was conducted in May 2021 to screen out articles that reported that ET measurement was used to diagnose endometrial carcinoma (EC), endometrial hyperplasia (EH), and endometrial polyps (EP) in asymptomatic postmenopausal women who did not use hormone replacement therapy (HRT). The endometrial membrane was set at 5 mm as the cut-off, and using 5 mm as the cut-off of the ET, the relationship between the thickness of the endometrium and the prevalence of EC, EH, and EP was evaluated. Relative risk (RR) and standardized mean difference (SMD) were extrapolated with 95% confidence interval (CI). RESULTS: After screening, 9 studies reported a total of 3,620 cases of asymptomatic postmenopausal women whose ET was measured. Among them, there were 1,758 cases of ET <5 mm, the probability of EC, EH, and EP were 0.284% (5/1,758), 0.398% (7/1,758), and 0.626% (11/1,758), respectively. In another 1,862 cases with ET ≥5 mm, the probabilities of EC, EH, and EP were 1.128% (21/1,862), 1.128% (21/1,862), and 1.557% (29/1,862), respectively. The results showed that ET can be used as a risk factor for predicting EC and other pathological changes. DISCUSSION: The results of this meta-analysis show that when the ET is greater than 5 mm, the incidence of EC, EH, and EP increases significantly. It is reasonable to use ET as a screening test for EC and EH in asymptomatic postmenopausal women.

Despite technological advances in mechanical circulatory support devices to treat end-stage heart failure, blood damage induced by non-physiological shear stress in operation often triggered clinical hemocompatibility complications. The loss of high molecular weight von Willebrand Factor (HMW-VWF) has been considered as an essential cause of gastrointestinal bleeding. In addition to the mechanics factors, interface factors may also affect blood damage, especially the surface characteristics. In this study, the effect of surface roughness on VWF damage under flow condition was investigated. A roller pump circulation experimental platform with a roughness embedded sample chamber was constructed to provide blood shearing flow condition. VWF molecular weight analysis, VWF antigen (VWF-Ag) concentration assay, and VWF ristocetin cofactor activity (VWF-Rico) assay were performed on the sheared blood samples. These variables are the main functional indicators of VWF. It was found that the surface roughness induced VWF damage is mainly caused by the loss of HMW-VWF rather than reducing the total amount of VWF. The threshold value of surface roughness for a rapid increase in the degradation of HMW-VWF under low flow rate was obtained between Ra 0.4 and 0.6 µm, which was smaller than the threshold for hemolysis. Our findings indicated that VWF is more sensitive to the interface factor of surface roughness than red blood cells, thus has a higher requirement for blood pump design. It could provide reference for the material design and processing in developing mechanical circulatory support devices.

Catalytic chemical degradations and many other methodologies have been explored for the removal and/or degradation of organophosphorus agents (OPs) that are often used as pesticides, nerve agents, and plasticizers. To explore more efficient and recyclable catalysts for the removal and/or degradation of OPs, we fabricate the composites of cobalt nanoparticles and three-dimensional nitrogen-doped graphene (Co/3DNG). We demonstrate that OPs can be hydrolyzed efficiently at ambient temperature by the Co/3DNG. Because of the unique structural and chemical properties of the supporting matrix 3DNG and active species Co-N, the catalytic activities of Co/3DNG composites are much higher than those of bare 3DNG, Co nanoparticles, or the Co nanoparticles physically mixed with 3DNG. We conclude that in the Co/3DNG composites, the interaction between 3DNG and Co stabilizes and distributes well the Co nanoparticles and affords the active catalytic species Co-N.

The lubricities of glycerol solutions with different viscosities were investigated at various frictional pairs, speeds, and loads to explore the lubrication regulations of diverse foods in mouths of different people. The friction pairs were characterized in terms of mechanical properties, surface morphology, and hydrophobicity. The results showed that the partial or complete Stribeck curves occurred with different speeds and viscosities. Various friction pairs had great influences on the boundary lubrication zone, but little influences on the elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL) zone. Increasing loads caused the friction coefficient decreasing in boundary lubrication zone; however, the friction coefficient changed a little in the mixed lubrication and EHL zones.

The strategy of adjusting aeration time (5 h/6 h/7 h) was applied to the sequential batch reactors to optimize the treatment of aniline wastewater (600 mg/L) conveniently and economically. Three reactors degraded aniline effectively. The nitrogen removal ability of system with 6 h aeration time was better, performing the similar denitrification property as 5 h and nitrification performance as 7 h. Meanwhile, longer aeration time potentially damaged the sludge structure. The metagenomic analysis explained the micro-mechanism for the better performance of the system with 6 h aeration time. Appropriate aeration time was conducive to the enrichment of synergistic microflora, including aniline degrading-bacteria, heterotrophic nitrifiers and denitrifiers. Then, the tilt of environmental resources to these floras in the system was beneficial to the maximum value utilization of living substrates. Accordingly, these bacteria were more closely related to genes, resulting in higher expression of functional genes in the system.

Aurantii Fructus is a commonly used qi-regulating medicinal herb in China. Both traditional Chinese medicine theory and modern experimental research demonstrate that Aurantii Fructus has dryness effect, the material basis of which remains unclear. In recent years, spectrum-effect relationship has been widely employed in the study of active ingredients in Chinese medicinal herbs, the research ideas and methods of which have been constantly improved. Based on the idea of spectrum-effect study, the ultra-high perfor-mance liquid chromatography-quadrupole-time of flight mass spectrometry(UHPLC-Q-TOF-MS) fingerprints of different fractions of Aurantii Fructus extract were established for the identification of total components. Then, the dryness effects of the fractions on normal mice and gastrointestinal motility disorder(GMD) rats were systematically compared. Finally, principal component analysis(PCA), Pearson bivariate correlation analysis and orthogonal partial least squares analysis(OPLS) were integrated to identify the dryness components of Aurantii Fructusextract. The results showed that narirutin, naringin, naringenin, poncirin, oxypeucedanin, and eriodictyol-7-O-glucoside had significant correlations with and contributed to the expression of AQP2 in kidney, AQP3 in colon, and AQP5 in submandibular gland, which were the main dryness components in Aurantii Fructus.

Our study aimed to investigate the clinical significance and biological functions of Spindlin1 (SPIN1) in colorectal cancer (CRC) tumorigenesis and progression, as well as the mechanism underlying its upregulation. The expression of SPIN1 was detected by immunohistochemistry and western blotting assays. Bioinformatics prediction and dual-luciferase reporter assays were used to determine whether microRNA-381 (miR-381) could target SPIN1. A series of cell functional experiments were performed to investigate whether the miR-381-mediated regulation of SPIN1 is involved in the progression and aggressiveness of CRC cells via the Wnt/ß-catenin pathway. Our results showed that SPIN1 is frequently overexpressed in CRC tissues and cell lines, and its upregulation is positively correlated with disease progression and lymph node metastasis. Moreover, SPIN1 depletion suppresses cell growth, migration, and invasion through inactivation of the Wnt/ß-catenin signaling pathway, which recapitulates the effects of miR-381 upregulation. Moreover, SPIN1 is a target gene of miR-381, and miR-381 is downregulated in CRC. Furthermore, the reintroduction of SPIN1 partially abolished the miR-381-mediated inhibitory effects in CRC cells. In summary, our data revealed that the miR-381/SPIN1 axis greatly contributes to CRC tumorigenesis by orchestrating the Wnt/ß-catenin pathway, thereby representing actionable therapeutic targets for colorectal cancer patients.

Background: Contactin-associated protein-like 2 (CASPR2) neurological autoimmunity has been associated with various clinical syndromes involving central and peripheral nervous system. CASPR2 antibody-associated autoimmune encephalitis is mostly reported in adults. Analysis of the clinical presentation and prognostic data of CASPR2 antibody-associated autoimmune encephalitis in children remains important. Methods: A single-center retrospective review of children diagnosed with CASPR2 antibody-associated autoimmune encephalitis from June 1st, 2018 to October 31st, 2020. Results: Six patients were identified. The median age was 12 years (range 1.8-14), with an overall male predominance of 83% (5/6). Commonest clinical features were psychiatric symptoms (6/6), movement disorders (4/6), altered consciousness (3/6), sleep disorders (3/6), and headache (3/6). Four patients (4/6) received first-line therapy alone (steroids combined with intravenous immunoglobulins), and two patients (2/6) received second-line therapy (rituximab, mycophenolate mofetil, or cyclophosphamide). All patients showed no peripheral nervous system involvement. One patient had comorbidities with systemic lupus erythematosus. No evidence of neoplastic disease was found in the whole cohort. All patients had favorable outcomes (modified Rankin Score 0-2) with recurrence rate at 0%, respectively. Conclusion: CASPR2 antibody-associated autoimmune encephalitis is rare in children. Our findings suggest that this type of encephalitis seems to occur more frequently in older children. Patients respond well to immunotherapy and usually demonstrate a favorable clinical outcome. Associated tumors are extremely rare.

Purpose: As the most frequent and earliest type of psychotic phenomenon in Parkinson's disease (PD), minor hallucination (MH) can occur before the onset of motor symptoms. This sensation may be an early predictor of severe psychotic and cognitive states and is often overlooked in clinics. This study was aimed at providing a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of MHs. Patients and Methods. Demographic information was obtained from 262 patients with PD, and a series of clinical assessment questionnaires were provided. According to the result of the Movement Disorders Society Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale Part I, the patients were classified into the MH and nonhallucination (NH) groups. Results: MHs were the most common psychotic symptom with 38.9% prevalence. The most frequent MH was visual illusion, especially object misidentification. Three minor phenomena were somewhat consistent in terms of external factors, temporal factors, and content. Disease duration, daily levodopa equivalent dose, and percentage of levodopa and dopamine-receptor agonist use were remarkably greater in the MH group than in the NH group. After covariate control, the MH group had worse life quality and more severe nonmotor symptoms, including poor sleep quality and rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder (RBD), than the NH group. The binary logistic regression model showed that RBD, sleep quality, and health-related life quality were associated with MHs. Conclusion: A high prevalence of MHs was observed in patients with PD. Further studies are needed to confirm and expand the identified clinical factors related to MH, which have potential prognostic and therapeutic implication.

BACKGROUND: Gastric cancer (GC) is the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) have been widely validated as potential biomarkers for cancer treatment and diagnosis. AIMS: This paper intends to study the effect and specific mechanism of miR-574-3p/CUL2 axis in GC. METHODS: The miR-574-3p expression in GC tissues and cell lines was analyzed by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). GC cell (N87) proliferation, migration and invasion were determined by the Brdu assay and Transwell assay, respectively. The tumor xenotransplantation model was established in vivo to test the effect of miR-574-3p or Cullin 2 (CUL2) on tumor growth. The relationship between miR-574-3p and CUL2 was predicated by bioinformatic analysis and verified by dual-luciferase reporter assay and RIP experiment. The expression of CUL2, hypoxia-induced transcription factor-1α (HIF-1α) as well as E-cadherin, Snail and Vimentin was monitored by western blot and immunohistochemistry. RESULTS: miR-574-3p was overexpressed in GC tissues and cells. Forced upregulation of miR-574-3p enhanced proliferation, migration, invasion and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) of GC cells (N87), while downregulation of miR-574-3p resulted in reverse effects. Additionally, miR-574-3p promoted N87 cells growth and EMT in vivo. CUL2 was negatively regulated by miR-574-3p in N87 cells, and upregulation of CUL2 repressed the malignant behaviors of N87 cells. Moreover, CUL2 directly interacted with HIF-1α and suppressed HIF-1α expression both in vitro and in vivo. CONCLUSIONS: miR-574-3p targeted CUL2 to upregulate HIF-1α, thus facilitating the progression of GC.

Metal dichalcogenides are novel two-dimensional (2D) semiconductors after the discovery of graphene. In this article, phonon-limited mobility for six kinds of 2D semiconductors with the composition of MX2is reviewed, in which M (Cr, Mo and W) is the transition metal, and X (S and Se) is the chalcogen element. The review is divided into three parts. In the first part, we briefly introduce the calculation method of mobility, including the empirical model and Boltzmann transport theory (BTE). The application scope, merits and limitations of these methods are summarized. In the second part, we explore empirical models to calculate the mobility of MX2, including longitudinal acoustic phonon, optical phonon (OP) and polar optical phonon (POP) models. The contribution of multi-valley to mobility is reviewed in the calculation. The differences between static and high-frequency dielectric constants (Δϵ) are only 0.13 and 0.03 for MoS2and WS2. Such a low value indicates that the polarization hardly changes in the external field. So, their mobility is not determined by POP, but by deformation potential models. Different from GaAs, POP scattering plays a decisive role in its mobility. Our investigations also reveal that the scattering from POP cannot be ignored in CrSe2, MoSe2and WSe2. In the third parts, we investigate the mobility of MX2using electron-phonon coupling matrix element, which is based on BTE from the framework of a many-body quantum-field theory. Valence band splitting of MoS2and WS2is induced by spin-orbit coupling effect, which leads to the increase of hole mobility. In particular, we review in detail the theoretical and experimental results of MoS2mobility in recent ten years, and its mobility is also compared with other materials to deepen the understanding.

A persimmon tannin-Aloe vera composite powder (PT-A) was investigated for its capacity to protect against ionizing radiation. Human hepatic cells (L02 cells) and human hepatoma cells (HepG2 cells) were pretreated with different concentrations of PT-A or the single compounds (PT or Aloe vera) and radiated with X-rays. After radiation and post-incubation for 12 h or 24 h, the cell viability, apoptosis, and reactive oxygen species (ROS) production were analyzed by Cell Counting Kit 8 (CCK-8), 2',7'-dichlorfluorescein diacetate (DCFH-DA) staining, and Hoechst 33258 staining/flow cytometry, respectively. CCK-8 results illustrated that the optimal radiation dose L02 cells was 8 Gy for L02 cells, and the cell activity was 71.72% (IC50 = 412.1 µg/mL) after post-radiation incubation of 12 h. For HepG2 cells, the optimal radiation dose was 8 Gy, and the cell activity was 62.37% (IC50 = 213.0 µg/mL). The cell apoptotic rate was the lowest at a PT-A concentration of 200 µg/mL in L02 cells (4.32%, P < 0.05), and at 100 µg/mL in HepG2 cells (9.80%, P < 0.05). ROS production induced by radiation could be effectively inhibited by 200 µg/mL of PT-A in L02 cells, and by 100 µg/mL of PT-A in HepG2 cells. The PT-A composite has good radioprotective effects on cell vitality and apoptosis of X-rays radiation exposure towards L02 cells and HepG2 cells compared to the persimmon tannin or Aloe vera. Therefore, PT-A composite might be useful as a natural, harmless anti-ionizing radiation agent, and has various clinical application prospects in future.

OBJECTIVE: To explore the main causes of hypertrophied ligamentum flavum (HLF) and the possibility of using bipedal standing mouse model to simulate the pathological changes in human HLF. METHODS: Thirty-two 8-week-old C57BL/6 male mice were randomly assigned to the experimental group (n = 16) and control group (n = 16). In the experimental group, mice were induced to adopt a bipedal standing posture by their hydrophobia. The experimental mice were maintained bipedal standing for 8 h a day with an interval of 2 h to consume food and water. The control mice were placed in a similar environment without bipedal standing. Eight 18-month-old C57BL/6 male mice were compared to evaluate the LF degeneration due to aging factor. Three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction and finite element models were carried out to analyze the stress and strain distribution of the mouse LF in sprawling and bipedal standing postures. Hematoxylin and Eosin (HE), Verhoeff-Van Gieson (VVG), and immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining were used to evaluate the LF degeneration of mice and humans. RT-qPCR and immunofluorescence analysis were used to evaluate the expressions of fibrosis-related factors and inflammatory cytokines of COL1A1, COL3A1, α-SMA, MMP2, IL-1ß, and COX-2. RESULTS: The von Mises stress (8.85 × 10-2 MPa) and maximum principal strain (6.64 × 10-1 ) in LF were increased 4944 and 7703 times, respectively, in bipedal standing mice. HE staining showed that the mouse LF area was greater in the bipedal standing 10-week-old group ([10.01 ± 2.93] × 104 µm2 ) than that in the control group ([3.76 ± 1.87] × 104 µm2 ) and 18-month-old aged group ([6.09 ± 2.70] × 104 µm2 ). VVG staining showed that the HLF of mice (3.23 ± 0.58) and humans (2.23 ± 0.31) had a similar loss of elastic fibers and an increase in collagen fibers. The cell density was higher during the process of HLF in mice (39.63 ± 4.81) and humans (23.25 ± 2.05). IHC staining showed that the number of α-SMA positive cells were significantly increased in HLF of mice (1.63 ± 0.74) and humans (3.50 ± 1.85). The expressions of inflammatory cytokines and fibrosis-related factors of COL1A1, COL3A1, α-SMA, MMP2, IL-1ß, and COX-2 were consistently higher in bipedal standing group than the control group. CONCLUSION: Our study suggests that 3D finite element models can help analyze the abnormal stress and strain distributions of LF in modeling mice. Mechanical stress is the main cause of hypertrophied ligamentum flavum compared to aging. The bipedal standing mice model can reflect the pathological characteristics of human HLF. The bipedal standing mice model can provide a standardized condition to elucidate the molecular mechanisms of mechanical stress-induced HLF in vivo.

It is a promising strategy to prepare composite photocatalysts based on MOFs and semiconductors for enhancing photocatalytic reduction of carbon dioxide (CO2). A family of binary composite photocatalysts (CdS@UiO-66-NH2) with different CdS contents have been designed and synthesized, which have been explored for photocatalytic reduction of CO2. CdS@UiO-66-NH2 can efficiently convert CO2 into CO under visible light irradiation via the solid-gas mode in the absence of sacrificial agents and photosensitizers. The generation rate of CO can reach up to 280.5 µmol g-1 h-1, which is 2.13-fold and 2.9-fold improvements over the pristine CdS and UiO-66-NH2, respectively, and the selectivity for CO is very high. Furthermore, this kind of photocatalysts can still maintain great photocatalytic activity in CO2/N2 mixed atmosphere with different CO2 concentrations. The outstanding performances of CdS@UiO-66-NH2 may be attributed to the existence of the direct Z-scheme heterojunction, which possesses the enhanced separation and migration of photo-generated charge carriers between UiO-66-NH2 and CdS, available specific surface areas and improved visible light absorption ability as well as abundant reaction active sites. This case reveals that MOF-based composite photocatalysts exhibit promising potential applications in the field of CO2 conversion.

Phenalenyl (PLY) and its derivatives could form one-dimensional π-aggregates through pancake π-π bonding, which would lead to exotic optoelectronic properties. We will highlight the key aspects of the PLY derivatives from the design strategies to exploration of the electronic properties. Here, we primarily construct alternating boron (B)- and nitrogen (N)-doped PLY π-aggregates: dimer[12], trimer[12-1], trimer[12-2], tetramer[12]2, pentamer[12]2-1, pentamer[12]2-2, and hexamer[12]3. The geometric and electronic structures show that the short intermolecular distances of the π-aggregates drive the formation of pancake π-π bonding. Significantly, the molecular structures show periodic changes in the π-aggregates, but the first hyperpolarizabilities (ßtot) present unexpected changes, which are found to increase sharply with increasing even layer thickness due to intermolecular charge transfer. The ßtot value of hexamer[12]3 (5.72 × 104 a.u.) is 6.4 times that of tetramer[12]2 (8.95 × 103 a.u.), and is 22.4 times that of dimer[12] (2.55 × 103 a.u.). Thus, constructing π-aggregates can significantly improve the second-order NLO response, which is mainly due to intermolecular charge transfer through pancake π-π bonding of the interlayers.

Anti-viral monoclonal antibody (mAb) treatments may provide immediate but short-term immunity from coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in high-risk populations, such as people with diabetes and the elderly; however, data on their efficacy in these populations are limited. We demonstrate that prophylactic mAb treatment blocks viral replication in both the upper and lower respiratory tracts in aged, type 2 diabetic rhesus macaques. mAb infusion dramatically curtails severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)-mediated stimulation of interferon-induced chemokines and T cell activation, significantly reducing development of interstitial pneumonia. Furthermore, mAb infusion significantly dampens the greater than 3-fold increase in SARS-CoV-2-induced effector CD4 T cell influx into the cerebrospinal fluid. Our data show that neutralizing mAbs administered preventatively to high-risk populations may mitigate the adverse inflammatory consequences of SARS-CoV-2 exposure.

Patient similarity search is a fundamental and important task in artificial intelligence-assisted medicine service, which is beneficial to medical diagnosis, such as making accurate predictions for similar diseases and recommending personalized treatment plans. Existing patient similarity search methods retrieve medical events associated with patients from Electronic Health Record (EHR) data and map them to vectors. The similarity between patients is expressed by calculating the similarity or dissimilarity between the corresponding vectors of medical events, thereby completing the patient similarity measurement. However, the obtained vectors tend to be high dimensional and sparse, which makes it hard to calculate patient similarity accurately. In addition, most of existing methods cannot capture the time information in the EHR, which is not conducive to analyzing the influence of time factors on patient similarity search. To solve these problems, we propose a patient similarity search method based on a heterogeneous information network. On the one hand, the proposed method uses a heterogeneous information network to connect patients, diseases, and drugs, which solves the problem of vector representation of mixed information related to patients, diseases, and drugs. Meanwhile, our method measures the similarity between patients by calculating the similarity between nodes in the heterogeneous information network. In this way, the challenges caused by high-dimensional and sparse vectors can be addressed. On the other hand, the proposed method solves the problem of inaccurate patient similarity search caused by the lack of use of time information in the patient similarity measurement process by encoding time information into an annotated heterogeneous information network. Experiments show that our method is better than the compared baseline methods.
