O presente trabalho é fruto de uma pesquisa de doutorado para obtenção de dupla titulação realizada entre o Brasil e a França. O estudo foi conduzido a partir de entrevistas semiestruturadas realizadas com homens que haviam se submetido a intervenções médicas, com finalidade estética. Os entrevistados foram encaminhados pelos próprios médicos que realizaram as intervenções após consentimento dos participantes. Durante a realização das entrevistas foi encontrado um sujeito fazendo uso bastante particular de seu corpo. Tal uso suscitou a possibilidade de se tratar de um caso de psicose ordinária, estabilizada a partir da introdução de um termo com função de suplência imaginária à foraclusão do Nome-do-Pai. Assim, este artigo traz a análise dos relatos de um jovem homossexual de vinte e sete anos que realizou uma série de intervenções estéticas no corpo. Do sentimento de estranhamento pelo não reconhecimento da própria imagem no período pregresso à cirurgia de maior impacto ­ uma prótese peitoral masculina ­ até a assunção de um corpo ­ cuja função é de suplência imaginária à foraclusão do Nome-do-Pai ­ o jovem pôde estabilizar-se a partir da organização de uma tripla externalidade reconhecidamente em desordem: social, corporal e subjetiva. Ao final do trabalho reconhece-se a necessidade de novas investigações em torno dos possíveis efeitos clínicos e metapsicológicos decorrentes dos intensos processos de identificações necessários para sua estabilização.(AU)


The present work is the result of a double degree doctorate research carried out among Brazil and France. The study was conducted from semi-structured interviews with men that were submitted to medical interventions with aesthetic purpose. The interviewees were referred by the doctors who performed the interventions after consent of the participants During the accomplishment of the interviews it was detected a subject making a very particular use of his body. Such kind of use has raised the possibility of dealing with a case of ordinary psychosis, stabilized by the introduction of a term with an imaginary supplement function to the foreclosure of the Name-of-the-Father. Hence, this article considers the analysis of the reports of a young homosexual of twenty-seven years old who performed a series of aesthetic interventions in his body. From the feeling of estrangement, due to the non-recognition of the image itself in the period prior to the surgery with greater impact, - a male pectoral prosthesis - until the assumption of a body image ­ whose function is to do imaginary supplement to the foreclosure of the Name-of-the-Father ­ he was able to stabilize his psychic condition from the organization of a triple externality in disorder: social, corporal and subjective. At the end, the need for further research is recognized in view of the possible clinical and metapsychological effects due to the intense identification processes required for its stabilization.(AU)


El presente trabajo es fruto de una investigación de doctorado con doble titulación realizada entre Brasil y Francia. El estudio fue conducido a partir de entrevistas semiestructuradas realizadas con hombres que se habían sometido a intervenciones médicas, con finalidad estética. Los entrevistados fueron encaminados por los propios médicos que realizaron las intervenciones después del consentimiento de los participantes. Durante la realización de las entrevistas fue encontrado un sujeto haciendo un uso bastante particular de su propio cuerpo. Tal uso, suscitó la posibilidad de tratarse de un caso de psicosis ordinaria, estabilizada a partir de la introducción de un término con función de suplencia imaginaria a la "forclusión del Nombre-del-Padre". Así, este artículo trae el análisis de los relatos de un joven homosexual de veintisiete años que realizó una serie de intervenciones quirúrgicas estéticas en su cuerpo. De la sensación de extrañamiento por el no reconocimiento de la propia imagen en el período preparatorio a la cirugía de mayor impacto -una prótesis pectoral masculina- hasta la asunción de un cuerpo ­ cuya función es de suplencia imaginaria a la forclusión del Nombre-del-Padre­ el joven puede estabilizarse a partir de la organización de una triple externalidad reconocidamente en desorden: social, corporal y subjetiva. Al final del trabajo, se reconoce la necesidad de nuevas investigaciones en torno a los posibles efectos clínicos y metapsicológicos derivados de los intensos procesos de identificaciones necesarias para su estabilización.(AU)

This paper presents a multi-information flow convolutional neural network (MiF-CNN) model for person reidentification (re-id). It contains several specific multilayer convolutional structures, where the input and output of a convolutional layer are concatenated together on channel dimension. With this idea, layers of model can go deeper and feature maps can be reused by each subsequent layer. Inspired by an image caption, a person attribute recognition network is proposed based on long-short-term memory network and attention mechanism. By fusing identification results of MiF-CNN and attribute recognition, this paper introduces the attribute-aided reranking algorithm to improve the accuracy of person re-id further. Experiments on VIPeR, CUHK01, and Market1501 datasets verify the proposed MiF-CNN can be trained sufficiently with small-scale datasets and obtain outstanding accuracy of person re-id. Contrast experiments also confirm the availability of the attribute-assisted reranking algorithm.

In Western society, identity formation is argued to be one of the key developmental tasks of adolescence. Despite implications for adolescent development, research into chronic illness (CI) onset during this period has been notably sparse. This study aimed to explore how diagnosis impacts on the developmental tasks of adolescence, what role adolescent-onset CI plays in identity formation, and how adolescents incorporate the diagnosis into their identity using a narrative analysis. Individual semi-structured interviews were carried out with eight young people aged 14 to 19years who lived with a diagnosis of a CI diagnosed between the ages of 12 and 16 years. Five core narrative themes emerged: walking a different path, tolerating contradiction, a changed interface with others, locating power and a fluid relationship. Narratives were considered to have been influenced by factors such as the interview context and dominant social narratives concerning health and illness. Adolescent-onset CI was found to have a significant, though not exclusively negative, impact on developmental tasks. The findings are discussed in relation to existing literature and potential clinical implications.

Identification with Christ among psychiatric patients is an example of a complex and multifaceted phenomenon. As a delusion it includes a misidentification (change of identity) in the layer of content and, usually, grandiosity and/or paranoid traits in the formal aspect. What is more, it fits in the category of religious delusions, which are perhaps the most controversial type of delusions and as such require special sensitivity as well as knowledge beyond psychology or psychiatry. The aim of the articleis to show the phenomenon of identification with Christ among psychiatric patients, taking into account different ways of its explaining and understanding. Papers relating to the topic, both theoretical considerations and case studies, found in the EBSCO database were analyzed. Searching for the articles the following key words were used: identity, identification, delusion, Jesus/Christ/Messiah, psychosis, schizophrenia. The analysis included all (actually not numerous) articles except for the one linked to cognitive approach which did not significantly contribute to the issue. Given the multiplicity of ways of explaining and understanding the experience of identification with the figure of the Messiah, it seems to be a mistake to hold both objectivist and one-sided, based on one theory, attitude towards it. Such an experience should be recognized in the context of the history of patient's life and the all possible mechanisms leading to its occurrence, as well as the meanings hidden beneath the symptom, should be take into account. It is also important to be well-oriented in the system of religious beliefs and spiritual needs of the patient.

The existing research findings still do not provide a clear understanding of the links between adolescent school experience and their identity formation. To address this gap, we analyzed the dynamic links between adolescent school experiences and identity formation by exploring the cross-lagged associations between school engagement, school burnout and identity processing styles (information-oriented, normative and diffuse-avoidant) over a 2-year period during middle-to-late adolescence. The sample of this school-based study included 916 adolescents (51.4% females) in the 9th to 12th grades from diverse socio-economic and family backgrounds. The results from the cross-lagged analyses with three time points revealed that (a) school engagement positively predicted information-oriented identity processing over a 2-year period; (b) school burnout positively predicted the reliance on normative and diffuse-avoidant identity styles across the three measurements; (c) the effects were stable over the three time points and across different gender, grade, and socio-economic status groups. The unidirectional effects identified in our study support the general prediction that active engagement in learning at school can serve as a resource for adolescent identity formation, while school burnout, in contrast, can hinder the formation of adolescent identity. This points to the importance of taking developmental identity-related needs of adolescents into account when planning the school curriculum.

This article presents an analysis of the views of younger bisexual and lesbian women and transgender youth living in a western Canadian small city on their sexual and gender identities. Data were collected through focus groups and interviews and analyzed thematically through an intersectional lens. The purposive sample was composed of 13 youth who identified as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer (LGBTQ) and whose average age was 19.8 years. The analytical themes of (1) living in a small town, (2) identifying and being identified, and (3) talking intersectionality indicate that the sexual identities and gender identities and expressions of LGBTQ youth change across time and context and are impacted by often overlooked factors including faith, Indigenous ancestry, disability, and class. Further, the size and character of the community significantly impacts LGBTQ youth identity development and expression. This research demonstrates the uniqueness of individual youth's experiences-opposing notions of milestone events as singularly important in queer youth identity development.

This study compared three groups of various age and health status (total N = 732) with respect to their identity status, stress level, and parental behavior. As expected, patients were characterized by delayed identity development, particularly ruminative exploration. Further, patients experienced high identity stress and described high levels of anxious paternal rearing and intrusive maternal psychological control. The patients' levels of both internalizing and externalizing symptomatology were high, and the impact of externalizing symptoms on identity arrest was strong. Identity status was delayed, albeit age adequate in both groups of healthy youths, with comparably high levels of anxious parental monitoring. Compared to adolescents, young adults were particularly active in their identity development, showing a high level of identity stress but no increase in psychopathology.

The development of personal and social identity is crucial in adolescence. On the one hand, adolescents face the task of forming and consolidating their personal identity in multiple domains, with educational and interpersonal domains particularly salient. On the other hand, they enlarge their social horizon and increasingly define themselves as members of multiple peer groups, such as groups of classmates and friends met outside school. There is however a lack of integrative research on the interplay among and between personal and social identity processes. Hence the purpose of this study was threefold. First, we examined how personal identity processes in the educational and interpersonal domains are associated longitudinally. Second, we investigated to what extent social identifications with classmates and with the group of friends are associated over time. Third, with an original approach we examined the longitudinal interplay between personal and social identity processes, to connect theoretical contributions that have so far proceeded largely in parallel. Participants were 304 adolescents (61.84% female, M age = 17.49) involved in a three-wave longitudinal study. We found that (a) the ways in which adolescents develop their identity in the educational and interpersonal domains become more closely intertwined over time; (b) identifications with classmates and with the group of friends are interconnected; and (c) personal and social identity processes are associated both concurrently and longitudinally, with most cross-lagged effects showing that social identifications influence personal identity formation and consolidation in the interpersonal identity domain. Theoretical implications are discussed.

Education and vocation are core identity domains in adolescence. School is a normative social context in this developmental time frame and the formation of an educational identity is embedded in the goals that youth pursue in school. One of the main goals of education is to prepare young people for their future careers. Hence, educational identity should support the formation of vocational identity during adolescence. Considering the limited evidence on the longitudinal links between these two domain-specific identities, we conducted a three-wave investigation, testing the moderating role of age group, gender, and type of school. Participants (N = 1030; 59.3% female) were adolescents (M age = 16.72 years, SD age = 1.23, age range 14-19 years) who completed self-report measures of educational and vocational identity three times during an academic year. We underscored reciprocal associations between educational identity and vocational identity. The results indicate that strong educational commitments supported the formation of strong vocational commitments across time. Adolescents who were involved in the in-depth exploration of their educational choices also reported more vocational exploration during the school year. In turn, vocational identity processes also supported educational identity formation, especially the reconsideration of educational commitments. In terms of moderators, we underscored that vocational commitment making and vocational flexibility bolstered educational commitment only in early-to-middle adolescents. Educational in-depth exploration fostered the identification with vocational commitments only in girls. Educational reconsideration of commitment promoted vocational self-doubt only in adolescents attending work-bound high-schools. Implications for research and practice are discussed.

Este estudo analisou a influência do esporte na formação da identidade de 25 atletas de Futsal por meio da caracterização do padrão semántico do discurso e do relato de história de vida. Foram identificados três grupos caracterizados pela expressão de suas metamorfoses identitárias. O primeiro grupo apresentou uma forma de racionalidade instrumental, ligados à vitória, sucesso e outras características do esporte espetáculo. Os dois grupos mais autonômicos uniram experiências esportivas e não esportivas, alcançando racionalidade comunicativa e multiplicidade de papéis em manifestações de personagens. Concluiu-se que o esporte pode possibilitar fragmentos emancipatórios dependendo da multiplicidade e riqueza de papéis e estimulações ambientais, favorecendo pluralidade de experiências que instiguem transições ecológicas de autonomía (AU)


Este estudio examinó la influencia del deporte de forjar una identidad de 25 atletas a través de la caracterización de la forma semántica y informe de historial de vida. Se identificaron tres grupos caracterizados por la expresión de sus metamorfosis de identidad. El primer tenía una forma de racionalidad instrumental ligados a la victoria, el éxito y otras características del deporte espectáculo. Los dos grupos más autonómicos unieron experiencias deportivas y no deportivas, llegando a la racionalidad comunicativa y la multiplicidad de roles en caracteres manifestaciones. Se concluyó que el deporte puede permitir fragmentos de emancipación dependiendo de la variedad y riqueza de funciones y estímulos ambientales, favoreciendo la pluralidad de experiencias que fomentan las transiciones ecológicas de autonomía (AU)


This study analyzed the influence of sport on identity formation of 25 athletes through a semantic pattern and the life story characterization. Three groups characterized by the expression of their identity metamorphoses were identified. The first presented a form of instrumental rationality, linked to the victory, success and other characteristics of the spectacle sport. Two most autonomous groups united sports and non-sports experiences, reaching communicative rationality and multiplicity of roles in character manifestations. It was concluded that sport could enable emancipatory fragments depending on the multiplicity and richness of roles and environmental stimuli, favoring a plurality of experiences that instigate ecological transitions of autonomy (AU)

Convergence among treatment, prevention, and developmental psychosocial intervention approaches has led to the recognition of the need for evaluation models and research designs that employ a full range of evaluation information to provide an empirical basis for enhancing the efficiency, efficacy, and effectiveness of prevention and psychosocial positive youth development interventions (PYD). This study reports an investigation of a PYD psychosocial program using an Outcome Mediation Cascade (OMC) evaluation model, which is an integrated model for evaluating the empirical intersection between intervention and developmental processes. The Changing Lives Program (CLP) is a community engaged PYD psychosocial intervention for multi-ethnic, multi-problem at risk youth in urban alternative high schools. Findings indicated that the hypothesized model fit the data, χ2 (7) = 6.991, p= .43, RMSEA = .00, CFI = 1.00, WRMR = .459. Findings also provided preliminary evidence consistent with the hypothesis that, in addition to having effects on targeted positive outcomes, PYD interventions are likely to have progressive cascading effects on untargeted problem outcomes (in this case, behavioral outcomes) that operate through effects on positive outcomes


La convergencia entre enfoques de tratamiento, prevención e intervención psicosocial evolutiva ha dado lugar a que se reconozca que se necesitan modelos de evaluación y diseños de investigación que utilicen una gama completa de información sobre evaluación que siente la base empírica para mejorar la eficiencia, la eficacia y la efectividad de la prevención y de las intervenciones psicosociales en el desarrollo positivo de la juventud (DPJ). Este estudio trata de la investigación sobre un programa psicosocial sobre DPJ utilizando el Outcome Mediation Cascade (OMC), modelo integrado para evaluar la intersección empírica entre la intervención y los procesos de desarrollo. El Changing Lives Program (CLP) es una intervención psicosocial de DPJ en la que está implicada la comunidad para jóvenes multiétnicos en riesgo en colegios urbanos de secundaria alternativos. Los resultados indican que el modelo postulado se ajusta a los datos, χ2 (7) = 6.991, p= .43, RMSEA = .00, CFI = 1.00, WRMR = .459. Igualmente, los resultados aportan pruebas preliminares consistentes con la hipótesis de que además de tener influencia en los resultados positivos planeados es probable que las intervenciones DPJ tengan efectos progresivos en cascada en los resultados no previstos de los problemas (en este caso, resultados en el comportamiento) que operan a través de sus efectos en los resultados positivos

The authors report the development and robust evaluation of the psychometric properties of the Sense of Community Descriptors Scale, which, as one of the few scales that measures the psychological sense of community regardless of context, can be utilized in all kinds of communities for assessing community intervention effectiveness. The Sense of Community Descriptors Scale uses a semi-projective method in the form of a semantic differential. Contrary to the majority of sense of community measures stemming from the theory of McMillan and Chavis, the Sense of Community Descriptors Scale is based on Peck’s theory. It measures the sense of community in a real and ideal community. The degree of differences between them is then used to determine the level of satisfaction. The reliability of the scale was high, and its convergent validity was supported by the correlation of the Perceived Sense of Community Scale and the Brief Sense of Community Scale. Factor analysis showed three dimensions (Acceptance, Dynamics, and Openness). The Sense of Community Descriptors Scale is a reliable and valid instrument for measuring the level of psychological sense of community beyond the specific context of such community and in various multilayer communities


Los autores reportan el desarrollo y evaluación de la escala de descriptores del sentido de comunidad (Sense of Community Descriptors Scale). Esta escala mide el sentido de comunidad independientemente del contexto, y puede utilizarse en todo tipo de comunidad para evaluar la efectividad de las intervenciones comunitarias. La escala de descriptores del sentido de comunidad utiliza un método semiproyectivo en forma de diferencial semántico. Al contrario que la mayoría de medidas del sentido de comunidad basadas en la teoría de McMillan y Chavis, esta escala se basa en la teoría de Peck. La escala mide el sentido de comunidad en una comunidad real y en una comunidad ideal. Las diferencias entre estas dos comunidades se emplean para determinar el nivel de satisfacción. La fiabilidad de la escala es elevada, y su validez convergente se apoya en la correlación con las escalas de Perceived Sense of Community Scale y la Brief Sense of Community Scale. El análisis factorial muestra tres dimensiones (Aceptación, Dinámica y Transparencia). Éste es un instrumento fiable y válido para medir el sentido de comunidad, más allá de su contexto específico

Cada generación transmite a las siguientes lo vivenciado, sentido y pensado. Pero también transmite aquello que desconoce de sí mismo, las marcas que dejaron los silencios de las generaciones anteriores. Esa transmisión deja agujeros de sentir y pensar que se repiten a través de las generaciones. Y los niños muestran en su sentir, pensar y actuar esa repetición.


Every generation broadcasts to the following everything they had experienced, felt or thought. But also, they convey everything that is unknown for their own, the stains produced by the silence of the previous generations. That transmission leaves holes of feel and think that are repeated throughout the generations. The children develop this repetition in their way of thinking, feeling or performing.


Chaque génération transmet a la suivante son vécu, son ressenti et sa pensée, mais également ce qu'elle méconnaît sur elle-même: les traces laissées par les silences des générations précédentes. Cette transmission laisse des zones aveugles du ressenti et de la pensée qui se répètent au travers des générations. Es frecuente que la clínica nos coloque frente a interrogantes que nos hacen ampliar los horizontes para poder pensar la problemática de los pacientes. En el caso de niños o adolescentes cuyo padecimiento parece no condecir con su historia, ni con las versiones relatadas por los adultos, en tanto analistas, nos encontramos, muchas veces, obligados a interrogarnos e interrogar acerca de qué sufrimiento es el que está manifestándose, o, en muchos casos, a quién pertenece ese dolor que está haciéndose presente en nuestro paciente. Varios autores se abocaron a pensar en la transmisión transgeneracional como herramienta conceptual para poder abordar estas problemáticas clínicas, e intentar posibilitar que el paciente logre realizar un recorrido subjetivizante.


In our practice we are continuously faced with questions that cause us to widen our horizons so as to be able to think about our patients' conflicts. As regards those patients whose suffering does not seem to correlate to their history, nor to the account provided by adults, when it comes to children or adolescents, we, as psychoanalysts, are required to wonder and ask about the suffering that is manifesting itself or, in many cases, who the pain the patient bears belongs to. Several authors have pondered on transgenerational transmission as a conceptual tool that makes it possible for us to deal with these problems arising in our practice and to enable our patients to go through a subjectivising process.


Fréquemment la clinique nous met face à des questionnements qui nous obligent à élargir nos horizons afin de pouvoir repenser la problématique des patients. Dans le cas de enfants ou des adolescents dont la souffrance n´est pas en accord avec leur histoire ou avec les récits des adultes qui les entourent, nous nous trouvons dans l´obligation de nous questionner et de questionner à propos de la nature de la souffrance qui apparaî tou a propos de l´apartennance de cette douleur presente chez le patient. Plusieurs auteurs ont pris comme outil conceptuel la "transmission transgénérationnelle" afin de pouvoir comprendre ces problématiques cliniques et faciliter le parcours subjectivisant du patient.

La transmisión a través de las generaciones. Martín llega a la consulta después de un intento de violación a su hermano y sobre el final de las entrevistas preliminares, el padre incluye una revelación impactante. ¿Acaso había revelado una historia silenciada del pasado que podría dar cuenta de un hecho del presente? Porque si bien es verdad que ninguna realidad traumática, por patógena que sea, alcanza por sí sola para dar cuenta de una u otra sintomatología, y que de las condiciones de los antepasados no podemos inferir el futuro destino psíquico de un sujeto; también es verdad que aquello que queda enterrado en un progenitor con cualidad de catástrofe psíquica, puede transmitirse al psiquismo de un hijo, en identificaciones inconscientes solidarias de una historia que encadena a dos o tres generaciones. Pero partiendo de la múltiple sobredeterminación en los complejos movimientos que llevan a la construcción de todo acto o síntoma, pensamos que tan sólo en la interioridad de un proceso analítico se pueden intentar develar estos enigmas.


Transmission through generations. Martin reaches the consult after attempting to rape his brother and at the end of the first interviews; his father includes another shocking revelation. Had his father revealed a silenced story of the past which could explain this present event? Though it is true that no traumatic reality whatsoever ­no matter how pathological it may be- is enough by itself to explain any symptomatology and, that we cannot possibly infer the future psychic destiny of any one subject, it is also true that that which remains buried in a parent with a catastrophic psychic quality, can be transmitted into the psyches of his or her offspring as unconscious identifications related to a story that links two or three generations. However, bearing in mind the multiple determinations in the complex movements that lead to the construction of any act or symptom, we believe that it is only in the interior of an analytical process in which such enigmas may be revealed.


La transmission à travers les générations. Martín arrive au cabinet suite à une tentative de violation à son frère et vers la fin des entretiens préliminaires, le père exprime une révélation frappante. Aurait-il révélé une histoire cachée du passé qui pourrait être en rapport avec un fait du présent? Même s'il est vrai qu'aucune réalité traumatique, au-delà de sa pathogénie, suffit à elle-même pour expliquer une ou autre symptomatologie, et que nous ne pouvons point inférer l'avenir psychique d'un sujet sur la base des conditions de ses ancêtres; il est également vrai que ce qui reste enfoui à l'intérieur d'un parent en qualité de catastrophe psychique, peut être transmis au psychisme d'un enfant ; et ce, sur la base d'identifications inconscientes solidaires d'une histoire qui enchaîne deux ou trois générations. Néanmoins, tenant compte de la surdétermination multiple des mouvements complexes qui conduisent à la construction de tout acte ou symptôme, nous pensons que ce n'est qu'au sein d'un processus analytique qu'il est possible de dévoiler ces énigmes.

El material clínico presentado permite vislumbrar el derrotero posible en el Yo adolescente y su posibilidad de resistir la sobreidentificación que la amenaza ante la imposibilidad materna de metabolizar lo traumático de su propia vida. Por otra parte, el sufrimiento familiar está profundamente enraizado en lo traumático de la historia social argentina.


The presented clinical material allows to glimpse the possible course in adolescent I and its capacity to resist the overidentification that threatens it before the maternal impossibility to metabolize the traumatic of its own life. On the other hand, family suffering is deeply rooted in the traumatic nature of Argentine social history.


Le matériel clinique présenté laisse entrevoir l'évolution possible de l'adolescente et sa capacité à résister à la suridentification qui la menace avant l'impossibilité maternelle de métaboliser le traumatisme de sa propre vie. Par ailleurs, la souffrance familiale est profondément enracinée dans la nature traumatique de l'histoire sociale argentine.

Partiendo del pensamiento de Freud, las autoras reflexionan acerca de los ideales en los adolescentes hoy que, inmersos en una sociedad cambiante, donde el conflicto ya no se juega entre lo permitido y lo prohibido, sino entre lo posible y lo imposible, muestran el fracaso de los ideales. La patología del ideal nos habla del triunfo del ello, que debilita al yo y lo convierte en demasiado orgulloso para reconocer sus límites protegerse. La búsqueda de sensaciones se convierte en una forma de llenar el sentimiento de vacío. La adolescencia abre nuevos caminos que posibilitan el logro de la identidad sexual y reestructuran las distintas formas de identificación. Constituye un momento de subjetivación, de movilidad psíquica, donde se recompone la historia del sujeto, se modifican los ideales y se posibilita la apertura a los modelos intergeneracionales. Para finalizar se expone un material clínico de una adolescente, donde vemos como sus ideales van madurando, ofreciéndole un proyecto más acorde a su yo y a la realidad


Building on the thought of Freud, the authors reflect upon ideals in adolescents today, who, immersed in a changing society, where conflict is no longer played out between the permitted and the prohibited, but rather the possible and the impossible, reflect the failure of ideals. The pathology of the ideal speaks of the triumph of the id, which weakens the ego, making it too proud to recognise its limits and protect itself. The pursuit of sensations becomes a way to fill the emptiness. Adolescence opens up new avenues to the attainment of sexual identity, and which restructure the different forms of identification. This may be regarded as a moment of subjectivation, of psychic mobility, where the history of the subject is remade, ideals are modified and the opening up to intergenerational models is made possible. The article ends with the case study of an adolescent, in which we see her ideals maturing, offering her a project more in keeping with her ego and reality


A partir de la pensée de Freud, les auteures réfléchissent sur les idéaux chez les adolescents d'aujourd'hui, plongés dans une société changeante, ou le conflit ne se joue plus entre ce qui est permis et interdit, mais entre ce qui est possible et impossible, montrant l' échec des idéaux. La pathologie de l'idéal nous parle du triomphe du c;a, qui affaiblit le moi et qui devient trop fier pour reconnaítre ses limites et se protéger. La recherche de sensations se transforme en une maniere de remplir le sentiment de vide. L'adolescence ouvre de nouveaux chemins qui permettent la réalisation de l'identité sexuelle et restructurent les différentes formes d'identification. Elle constitue un moment de subjectivation, de mobilité psychique, ou est remise en place l'histoire du su jet, ou sont modifiés les idéaux et ou l' ouverture aux modeles intergénérationnels est autorisée. Pour finir l'on expose un matériel clinique d'une adolescente, ou on voit comment ses idéaux deviennent plus matures, luí offrant un projet plus en accord a son moi et a la réalité

Se planteará en este artículo que la idealización, si bien es un mecanismo psíquico que puede ser usado para la defensa, pertenece por su naturaleza al terreno de la libido, pudiendo dar lugar a un amplio espectro de producciones patológicas o no en función de múltiples parámetros, pudiendo fijarse, como en el fanatismo, o evolucionar a lo largo del tiempo participando en procesos esenciales para el desarrollo, como la constitución del sistema ideal del yo-superyó, la formación de los ideales de la persona y la identificación. Asimismo, se considera que de la capacidad de idealizar depende muchas veces el impulso creador de la obra de arte y de las fantasías, y que de forma general colabora para dar forma al deseo que nos proyecta hacia el futuro. En la segunda parte del texto se aborda el concepto de yo ideal, prefiriendo el de idealización para dar cuenta de los distintos fenómenos asociados al narcisismo, tratando de evitar los riesgos de sustancialización y de confusión entre estados tempranos del desarrollo y patología del narcisismo que, en opinión de la autora, puede implicar el concepto de yo ideal


The author contends that idealization, while a psychic mechanism that may be used for defence, by its nature belongs to the. realm of the libido. This gives rise to a range of productionns, pathological or otherwise, dependent u pon multiple parameters. These may be fixated, as in fanaticism or evolve over the course of time by formmg part of processes essential to developments such as the constitution of the ego ideal-superego system, the formation of the ideals of the person, and identification. The creative impulse of the work of art and fantasy is also considered to be largely dependent upon the capacity for idealization, which generally speaking plays a part in shaping the desire that projects us towards the future. In the second part, the author considers the concept of ideal ego, preferring that of idealization to account for the different phenomena associated with narcissism, seeking to avoid the risk of substantiahzation and confusion between early stages of development and pathology of narcissism which, in the author's opinion, may involve the concept of ideal ego


On soulignera dans cet article que, l'idéalisation, bien qu'étant un mécanisme psychique qui peut étre utilisé par la défense, appartient par son caractere au terrain de la libido, pouvant conduire a un large spectre de productions, pathologiques ou non, en fonction de multiples parametres, pouvant se fixer, comme dans le fanatisme, ou évoluer au fil du temps en participant aux processus essentiels au développement, comme la constitution du systeme idéal du moi-surmoi, la formation des idéaux de la personne, et l'identification. On considere également que souvent, l' élan créateur de l' reuvre d' art et des fantaisies dépend de la capacité a idéaliser, et de façion générale collabore pour donner forme au désir qui nous projette vers le futur. Dans la deuxième partie du texte on aborde le concept du moi-idéal, en préférant celui d'idéalisation pour rendre compte des différents phénomènes associés au narcissisme, en essayant d' éviter les risques de substantialisation et de confusion entre états précoces du développement et pathologie du narcissisme que, de l' avis de l' auteure, peut impliquer le concept de moi-idéal

Objetivos: Conocer el imaginario de las mujeres embarazadas sobre la maternidad. Material y método: Estudio llevado a cabo con metodología cualitativa. La información se generó mediante entrevistas semiestructuradas y se realizó un análisis sociológico de los discursos. Los sujetos de estudio fueron 10 mujeres embarazadas de 36-37 semanas de gestación. Se atendió a los aspectos éticos y legales. Resultados: La decisión de ser madre es, en ocasiones, poco explícita: la maternidad aparece como destino femenino, enaltecida por ser fuente de nuevas experiencias y satisfacciones, pero también relacionada con un aumento de las obligaciones y las responsabilidades, con las consiguientes repercusiones en la vida personal y laboral. Las mujeres expresan inseguridad e incertidumbre ante el nuevo papel requerido: el de madre. El instinto maternal aparece en el imaginario de las mujeres, pero no el paternal. Conclusiones: La fuerte asociación entre maternidad e identidad femenina en el orden cultural y simbólico hegemónico actúa como motor en la decisión de ser madre. El instinto maternal aparece en el imaginario de las mujeres para dar una explicación naturalista al rol de madre. Surge la preocupación acerca de las estrategias necesarias para conciliar la vida laboral con la familiar: las renuncias laborales están relacionadas con la naturalización del rol de madre. La maternidad es una experiencia individual contextualizada en un entorno social, cultural, histórico, económico y laboral. Estudiar las creencias y los valores de una sociedad androcéntrica nos permitirá conocer las interacciones que se dan en ella, y reconocer a las mujeres como agentes capaces de construir nuevos significados. Aim: To know the imaginary of pregnant women about motherhood. Materials and method: Qualitative study. The qualitative data were gathered from semi-structured interviews. A sociologic discourse analysis has been performed. Study subjects: 10 pregnant women at 36-37 weeks of gestation. Ethic and legal aspects were taken into account. Results: The decision of becoming mother is not often explicit. Motherhood appears as female destination, and it is exalted for being a source of new experiences and satisfactions, but it is also related to an increase of obligations and responsibilities which has consequences on personal and working life. Women express insecurity and uncertainty about the new required role: to be a mother. Maternal instinct appears in the imaginary of pregnant women, but paternal instinct does not. Conclusions: The strong association between motherhood and female identity in the hegemonic cultural and symbolic order acts as an engine in the decision of becoming a mother. Maternal instinct appears in the imaginary of women to give a natural explanation of the role of mother. There is a concern about necessary strategies to reconcile work and family life. The labor resignations are related to the naturalization of the role of mother. Motherhood is an individual experience contextualized in a social, cultural, historical, economic and working environment. Studying the beliefs and values of an androcentric society will allow us to know the interactions that occur in society, and to recognize women as capable agents to construct new meanings. One is not born a mother, but becomes one

This introductory summary provides an overview of the content of the special issue entitled "Identity Development Process and Content: Toward an Integrated and Contextualized Science of Identity." The 16 theoretical and empirical articles that comprise this special issue were selected to highlight innovative methodologies, theoretical integration, and multicultural perspectives on the process and content of identity formation. The articles examine identity in developmental stages ranging from early childhood to young adulthood, and represent samples from 5 different countries. Within the geographic regions represented, authors explore diverse domains of identity development, addressing relevant and timely aspects of identity formation. Together, the contributions of the special issue are poised to move the field of identity research forward, both theoretically and empirically. (PsycINFO Database Record
