RESUMO

The extraction intermediate of traditional Chinese medicine is the key intermediate in the preparation process, and its stability has an important impact on the effectiveness and quality of the final product. However, existing stability evaluation methods are often time-consuming and labor-intensive, requiring long-term observation and the operation of complex equipment (such as high-performance liquid chromatography), and it is difficult to obtain more physical information about the instability of the system. Therefore, there is an urgent need to establish a fast and accurate stability analysis technology for traditional Chinese medicine. Multiple light scattering is a cutting-edge analytical method that can accurately and rapidly evaluate the stability of traditional Chinese medicines in an environment-friendly manner without changing the nature or state of the sample or using organic reagents. In this work, using the precise scanning data of multiple light scattering, the present protocol rapidly acquired the variation curves for layer thickness, particle migration speed, and average particle size over time. This enabled the precise identification of the mechanism and crucial characteristics causing the system's instability in its early stages. Of note, the research period for the extraction process can be considerably shortened by the detailed quantification of the system stability, which also allows for a quick, accurate, and in-depth analysis of the effects of various extraction processes on the stability of Phyllanthus emblica L.

RESUMO

Tongue diagnosis is an essential technique of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) diagnosis, and the need for objectifying tongue images through image processing technology is growing. The present study provides an overview of the progress made in tongue objectification over the past decade and compares segmentation models. Various deep learning models are constructed to verify and compare algorithms using real tongue image sets. The strengths and weaknesses of each model are analyzed. The findings indicate that the U-Net algorithm outperforms other models regarding precision accuracy (PA), recall, and mean intersection over union (MIoU) metrics. However, despite the significant progress in tongue image acquisition and processing, a uniform standard for objectifying tongue diagnosis has yet to be established. To facilitate the widespread application of tongue images captured using mobile devices in tongue diagnosis objectification, further research could address the challenges posed by tongue images captured in complex environments.

Atherosclerosis (AS) is a chronic disease caused by inflammation and lipid deposition. Immune cells are extensively activated in the lesions, producing excessive pro-inflammatory cytokines, which accompany the entire pathological process of AS. In addition, the accumulation of lipid-mediated lipoproteins under the arterial intima is a crucial event in the development of AS, leading to vascular inflammation. Improving lipid metabolism disorders and inhibiting inflammatory reactions are the primary treatment methods currently used in medical practice to delay AS progression. With the development of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), more mechanisms of action of the monomer of TCM, Chinese patent medicine, and compound prescription have been studied and explored. Research has shown that some Chinese medicines can participate in treating AS by targeting and improving lipid metabolism disorders and inhibiting inflammatory reactions. This review explores the research on Chinese herbal monomers, compound Chinese medicines, and formulae that improve lipid metabolism disorders and inhibit inflammatory reactions to provide new supplements for treating AS.

ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE: In the traditional Taiwanese culture of "postpartum confinement", the term "lochia discharge" is a synonym for assisting postpartum uterine involution. Postpartum women in Taiwan consult traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) pharmacies to obtain various TCM formulations that facilitate lochia discharge. AIM OF THE STUDY: As an ethnopharmacy study, we aimed to conduct field investigations to explore the herbal composition of TCM formulations for lochia discharge provided by TCM pharmacies in Taiwan and to identify the pharmaceutical implications of these TCM formulations. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Through stratified sampling, we collected 98 formulations for postpartum lochia discharge from TCM pharmacies, which used a total of 60 medicinal materials. RESULTS: The most common plant families of the medicinal materials found in Taiwanese lochia discharge formulations were Fabaceae and Lauraceae. Abiding by the TCM theory of nature and flavor, most drugs were warm in nature and sweet in flavor, and predominantly focused on the traditional functions of qi tonifying and blood activating. Correlation and network analyses of the medicinal components of lochia discharge formulations identified 11 core herbs, which, in the order of most to least frequently used, include Angelica sinensis, Ligusticum striatum, Glycyrrhiza uralensis, Zingiber officinale, Prunus persica, Eucommia ulmoides, Leonurus japonicus, Lycium chinense, Hedysarum polybotrys, Rehmannia glutinosa, and Paeonia lactiflora. These 11 herbs formed a total of 136 drug combinations in the 98 formulations, with 2-7 herbs in each combination. In addition, in the center of the network were A. sinensis and L. striatum, which jointly appeared in 92.8% of the formulations analyzed. CONCLUSIONS: To our knowledge, this is the first study to systematically review lochia discharge formulations in Taiwan. The results of this study could provide an important basis for subsequent research in the clinical efficacy of Taiwanese lochia discharge formulations and the pharmacological mechanisms of their herbal components.

BACKGROUND: Chinese medicinal retention enemas have gradually attracted the attention of clinicians as an alternative approach for tubal obstructive infertility. The purpose of this study was to investigate the efficacy and safety of conventional surgery combined with traditional Chinese medicinal retention enemas for the treatment of tubal obstructive infertility. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Eight electronic databases were searched from their inception to November 30, 2022. To assess the efficacy and safety of different treatments, following outcomes were measured: clinical pregnancy rate, clinical total effective rate, incidence of ectopic pregnancy, the improvement of Traditional Chinese Medicinal (TCM) symptoms, the improvement of the signs of obstructive tubal infertility and side effects. RESULTS: A total of 23 Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) with 1909 patients met the inclusion criteria. The pooled results showed a higher pregnancy rate in the experimental group than in the control group (RR 1.75, 95% CI [1.58, 1.94], Z = 10.55, P<0.00001). The clinical total effective rate in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group (RR 1.28, 95% CI [1.23, 1.34], Z = 11.07, P<0.00001). The incidence of ectopic pregnancy in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group (RR 0.40, 95% CI [0.20, 0.77], Z = -2.73, P = 0.01). CONCLUSION: Based on current evidence, we concluded that conventional surgery combined with traditional Chinese medicinal retention enema for tubal obstructive infertility was superior to conventional surgery alone in improving the clinical pregnancy rate, improving clinical total effective rate, improving TCM symptoms, improving the signs of obstructive tubal infertility and lowering the incidence of ectopic pregnancy. However, further clinical trials with high-quality methodologies need to be conducted.

Chapter 26 of the 11th revision of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11-CH26) has introduced Traditional Medicine knowledge for use and integration with Western Medicine. Traditional Medicine is the use of beliefs, theories, and experiences to provide healing and care. The amount of information on Traditional Medicine in Systematized Nomenclature of Medicine - Clinical Terms (SCT), the world's most comprehensive health terminology, is unclear. The purpose of this study is to address this unclarity and investigate to which extent the concepts of ICD-11-CH26 can be found in SCT. If a concept from ICD-11-CH26 has a corresponding, or similar, concept in SCT, the hierarchical structure of the concepts has been compared. Then, an ontology of Traditional Chinese Medicine using the concepts of SCT will be developed.

By tracing to the origin of Tibetan medicine, it is known that Tibetan medicine absorbs a variety of medical ideas such as traditional Chinese medicine, Vedic medicine, Persian medicine and Byzantine medicine, and forms a unique theoretical system. The meridian-acupoint system and the characteristics and application of external therapies such as bloodletting and moxibustion in Tibetan medicine are analyzed by elaborating the relevant aspects of acupuncture and moxibustion involved in treatment of diseases listed in Medical Canon in Four Sections. The paper emphasizes the introduction of ironing moxibustion and huo'er moxibustion of fire moxibustion and the application of separation-action decoction and ghee therapy in bloodletting, as well as alternative therapy. Besides, by taking the external treatment of cirrhotic ascites and head trauma as an example, the idea of acupuncture and moxibustion therapy in Tibetan medicine embodied in the Medical Canon in Four Sections is explained so as to benefit the development of acupuncture and moxibustion therapy in Tibetan medicine.

Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is one of the most serious diseases affecting human health today, and current research is focusing on gut flora. There is a correlation between intestinal flora imbalance and lung cancer, but the specific mechanism is not clear. Based on the "lung and large intestine being interior-exteriorly related" and the "lung-intestinal axis" theory. Here, based on the theoretical comparisons of Chinese and western medicine, we summarized the regulation of intestinal flora in NSCLC by active ingredients of traditional Chinese medicine and Chinese herbal compounds and their intervention effects, which is conducive to providing new strategies and ideas for clinical prevention and treatment of NSCLC.

Acupuncture Popularization was a measure taken to construct and improve public health in the early years of New China. Acupuncture Popularization in Guangdong Province was closely combined with the interest of the public and the proposal that 'doctors with western background should learn from Chinese medicine'. Some measures, such as extensive mobilization, short-term training and stepwise promotion, were introduced to popularize acupuncture in primary healthcare. This developed Chinese medicine as the process of primary care in New China and improved the 'uniting of Chinese medicine and Western medicine' and the community-level social management. It demonstrated the planning and activities of the New Government in terms of making rational use of Chinese medicine resources and exploring the new public health system adapted to the Chinese context.

BACKGROUND AND AIM: The traditional method of taking Chinese Medicine involves creating a decoction by cooking medicinal Chinese herbs. However, this method has become less popular, being replaced by the more convenient method of consuming concentrated Chinese herbal extracts, which creates challenges related to the complexity of stacking multiple formulas. METHODS: We developed the Chinese Intelligence Prescription System (CIPS) to simplify the prescription process. In this study, we used data from our institutions pharmacy to calculate the number of reductions, average dispensing time, and resulting cost savings. RESULTS: The mean number of prescriptions was reduced from 8.19 ± 3.65 to 7.37 ± 3.34 ([Formula: see text]). The reduction in the number of prescriptions directly resulted in decreased dispensing time, reducing it from 1.79 ± 0.25 to 1.63 ± 0.66 min ([Formula: see text]). The reduced dispensing time totaled 3.75 h per month per pharmacist, equivalent to an annual labor cost savings of $15,488 NTD per pharmacist. In addition, drug loss was reduced during the prescription process, with a mean savings of $4,517 NTD per year. The combined savings adds up to a not insignificant $20,005 NTD per year per pharmacist. When taking all TCM clinics/hospitals in Taiwan into account, the total annual savings would be $77 million NTD. CONCLUSION: CIPS assists clinicians and pharmacists to formulate precise prescriptions in a clinical setting to simplify the dispensing process while reducing medical resource waste and labor costs.

Background: Lead is a toxic element of the environment that leads to major complications once it enters the blood stream, affecting multiple organs and systems of the body. Methods: We present a case of a 6-month-old female infant diagnosed with lead poisoning after presenting for routine child health care. The child's mother denied that the infant had a history of exposure to lead-containing substances. After a month of calcium supplementation, the patient's blood lead level remained elevated. We then tested the blood lead level of the mother and father. The results showed that the blood lead level of the mother was 77.0 µg/L and that of the father was 36.9 µg/L. The high blood lead level of the mother attracted our attention. We found that the mother had been using an external traditional Chinese medicine, Hu Wang Fen, which contains lead. After the mother's discontinuation of use of the traditional medicine, the child was treated with symptomatic treatment and chelation therapy. Subsequently, the patient's blood lead level decreased significantly. Results: Lead toxicity can be a life-threatening problem because of its potential for severe complications. In children, there is no safe blood lead level, and the toxic effects of lead can be prevented by the awareness and avoidance of traditional Chinese medicines that may contain lead. Conclusion: Even though the diagnosis of lead poisoning remains difficult in children, it must be taken into consideration by the clinician when treating a child using traditional Chinese medicines.

Danggui Sini is a traditional Chinese medicine prescription for treating peripheral nerve injury (PNI). We studied the mechanisms of this decoction through network pharmacology analysis and molecular docking. Using R language and Perl software, the active components and predicted targets of Danggui Sini, as well as the related gene targets of PNI, were mined through TCMSP, GeneCards, OMIM, TTD, and DrugBank. The network diagram of active components and intersection targets was constructed using Cytoscape software and the STRING database. The CytoNCA plug-in was used to screen out the core compounds and key targets. The genes were analyzed for Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes enrichment. AutoDock was used to analyze the molecular docking of key targets and core compounds of diseases. The drug component disease target regulatory network showed that the key components included quercetin, kaempferol, naringenin, and licochalcone A, which play key roles in the whole network and may be the primary compounds associated with the action of Danggui Sini against PNI. PPI network topology analysis showed high degree values for RELA, JUN, MAPK1, RB1, and FOS. Enrichment analysis showed that the core targets of Danggui Sini participated in pathways associated with neurogenesis-multiple diseases. Molecular docking showed that the active ingredients in Danggui Sini had a good binding ability with key targets. We conclude that many active components of Danggui Sini play therapeutic roles in PNI treatment by regulating RELA, JUN, MAPK1, RB1, and FOS, and multiple other targets in inflammation, immunity, and lipid metabolism.

BACKGROUND: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a progressive disease that poses a huge economic burden to society. Liuwei Dihuanng pill is an effective treatment for chronic kidney disease, but its treatment mechanism is unclear. The rapid development of network pharmacology has provided new strategies for studying Chinese medicine. METHOD: The traditional Chinese medicine systems pharmacology database and analysis platform was used to obtain the bioactive components and targets of Liuwei Dihuanng pill. The sources for the CKD-related targets were then obtained from the Genecards, OMIM, TTD, and DisGeNET databases. R was used to identify the intersecting genes for Liuwei Dihuang pill and CKD-related targets. Analysis of protein-protein interactions (PPI) was performed using STRING, and PPI networks and drug-component-target networks were constructed using Cytoscape software. Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes pathway and gene ontology enrichment analyses were performed using R. Finally, molecular docking was performed to determine the binding activity between bioactive components and the targets. RESULT: After screening and data de-duplication of 74 active components, 209 drug targets, and 14,794 disease targets, a total of 204 drug-disease targets were acquired. Subsequently, a drug-component-target network and PPI network were established. The primary components of Liuwei Dihuang pill included quercetin, stigmasterol, kaempferol, beta-sitosterol, tetrahydroalstonine, kadsurenone, hederagenin, hancinone C, diosgenin, and sitosterol. In addition, JUN, AKT1, TP53, RELA, MAPK1, FOS, TNF, IL6, ESR1, and RXRA were identified as the main targets. Gene ontology function enrichment analysis revealed that these targets were involved in reactive oxygen species metabolic processes, responses to metal ions and to chemical stimuli, G protein-coupled amine receptor activity, and nuclear factor receptor activity. Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes enrichment analysis showed that these targets were involved in the AGE-RAGE signaling pathway, IL-17 signaling pathway, TNF signaling pathway, and so on. Molecular docking results indicated good binding activity between the core targets and core components. CONCLUSION: The potential mechanism of Liuwei Dihuanng pill in the treatment of CKD was preliminarily discussed in this study, providing a theoretical basis and evidence for further experimental research.

Based on the principle of molecular splicing and theory of traditional Chinese medicine pairs, a new multi-active compound (HM475) was synthesized by connecting metformin with honokiol, and its structure was characterized, which not only reduced the toxicity of raw materials, but also maintained the original activity, and had a certain significance in research and innovation. At the same time, quality control and preliminary activity evaluation were carried out, and the effect of HM475 on neuroinflammation was further explored, which provided a new idea for drug development of neurodegenerative diseases.

Artemisia argyi H. Lév. and Vaniot is a variety of Chinese mugwort widely cultured in central China. A. verlotorum Lamotte, another variety of Chinese mugwort, has been used in the southern region of China since ancient times. Despite their similar uses in traditional medicine, little is known about the differences in their active ingredients and potential benefits. Herein, the chemical compositions of the essential oils (EOs) from both varieties were analyzed using chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). A series of databases, such as the Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology database (TCMSP), SuperPred database and R tool, were applied to build a networking of the EOs. Our results revealed significant differences in the chemical compositions of the two Artemisia EOs. However, we found that they shared similar ingredient-target-pathway networking with diverse bioactivities, such as neuroprotective, anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory. Furthermore, our protein connection networking analysis showed that transcription factor p65 (RELA), phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase regulatory subunit alpha (PIK3R1) and mitogen-activated protein kinase 1 (MAPK1) are crucial for the biological activity of Artemisia EOs. Our findings provided evidence for the use of A. verlotorum as Chinese mugwort in southern China.

Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a major health concern owing to its high morbidity and mortality rates, to which there are no drugs or treatment methods, except for renal replacement therapy. Therefore, identifying novel therapeutic targets and drugs for treating AKI is urgent. Ferroptosis is an iron-dependent and lipid-peroxidation-driven regulatory form of cell death and is closely associated with the occurrence and development of AKI. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has unique advantages in treating AKI due to its natural origin and efficacy. In this review, we summarize the mechanisms underlying ferroptosis and its role in AKI, and TCM compounds that play essential roles in the prevention and treatment of AKI by inhibiting ferroptosis. This review suggests ferroptosis as a potential therapeutic target for AKI, and that TCM compounds show broad prospects in the treatment of AKI by targeting ferroptosis.

BACKGROUND: Ginkgo biloba L. leaves (GBLs) play a substantial role in the treatment of vascular dementia (VD); however, the underlying mechanisms of action are unclear. OBJECTIVE: This study was conducted to investigate the mechanisms of action of GBLs in the treatment of VD through network pharmacology, molecular docking, and molecular dynamics simulations. METHODS: The active ingredients and related targets of GBLs were screened using the traditional Chinese medicine systems pharmacology, Swiss Target Prediction and GeneCards databases, and the VD-related targets were screened using the OMIM, DrugBank, GeneCards, and DisGeNET databases, and the potential targets were identified using a Venn diagram. We used Cytoscape 3.8.0 software and the STRING platform to construct traditional Chinese medicine-active ingredient-potential target and protein-protein interaction networks, respectively. After gene ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway analysis of potential targets using the DAVID platform, the binding affinity between key active ingredients and targets was analyzed by molecular docking, and finally, the top 3 proteins-ligand pairs with the best binding were simulated by molecular dynamics to verify the molecular docking results. RESULTS: A total of 27 active ingredients of GBLs were screened and 274 potential targets involved in the treatment of VD were identified. Quercetin, luteolin, kaempferol, and ginkgolide B were the core ingredients for treatment, and AKT1, TNF, IL6, VEGFA, IL1B, TP53, CASP3, SRC, EGFR, JUN, and EGFR were the main targets of action. The main biological processes involved apoptosis, inflammatory response, cell migration, lipopolysaccharide response, hypoxia response, and aging. PI3K/Akt appeared to be a key signaling pathway for GBLs in the treatment of VD. Molecular docking displayed strong binding affinity between the active ingredients and the targets. Molecular dynamics simulation results further verified the stability of their interactions. CONCLUSION SUBSECTIONS: This study revealed the potential molecular mechanisms involved in the treatment of VD by GBLs using multi-ingredient, multi-target, and multi-pathway interactions, providing a theoretical basis for the clinical treatment and lead drug development of VD.

Kuntai capsules are effective in controlling primary ovarian insufficiency (POI). However, the precise mechanisms underlying the pharmacological effects of Kuntai capsules remain unclear. This study aimed to screen the active components and underlying mechanisms of Kuntai capsules for POI treatment using network pharmacology protocols and molecular docking technology. Potential active constituents in the chemical composition of Kuntai capsules were obtained from the Traditional Chinese Medicine System Pharmacology Database. Targets for POI were obtained from the Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man and Gene Cards database. All target data were integrated to identify the active ingredients of POI treatment. Enrichment analyses were performed using the Database for Annotation, Visualization, and Integrated Discovery database. The STRING database and Cytoscape software were used for protein-protein interaction network construction and core target identification. Finally, a molecular docking analysis of the active components and core targets was performed. A total of 157 ingredients related to POI were identified. Enrichment analysis showed that these components might participate in the mitogen-activated protein kinase, tumor necrosis factor, phosphoinositide-3-kinase/AKT serine/threonine kinase 1, and forkhead box O signaling pathways. Further protein-protein interaction network analysis revealed that the core targets were Jun proto-oncogene, AKT serine/threonine kinase 1, tumor protein P53, interleukin 6, and the epidermal growth factor receptor. Molecular docking analysis showed that baicalein was the most active ingredient with the highest affinity for the core targets. This study identified baicalein as the core functional component and elucidated the potential pharmacological effects of Kuntai capsule in the treatment of POI.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of activating blood circulation and removing blood stasis in terms of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for managing renal fibrosis (RF) in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). METHODS: We searched randomized controlled trials (RCTs) from eight databases. RESULTS: Sixteen eligible studies with 1,356 participants were included in this study. Compared to treatment with Western Medicine (WM) alone, the combined treatment with activating blood circulation and removing blood stasis in terms of TCM (ARTCM) and WM to manage RF in patients with CKD significantly ameliorated type Ⅳ collagen (CⅣ) (: 2.17, 95% : 3.01 to 1.34), type Ⅲ procollagen (PCⅢ) (: 1.08, 95% : 1.64 to 0.53), laminin (LN) (: 1.28, 95% : 1.65 to 0.90), transforming growth factor ß 1 (TGFß1) (: 0.65, 95% : 1.18 to 0.12), serum creatinine (Scr) (: 1.36, 95% : 1.85 to 0.87), blood urea nitrogen (BUN) (: 1.51, 95% : 2.59 to 0.43), and 24 h urine protein (24hUpro) (: 1.23; 95% : 1.96 to 0.50). The level of hyaluronic acid (HA) was similar in both types of treatment (: 0.74, 95% : 1.91 to 0.44). The subgroup analysis showed that the duration of 8 weeks might affect the concentration of C-Ⅳ, PC-Ⅲ, and LN (<0.05). The effectiveness of the longer duration to C-Ⅳ, PC-Ⅲ, and LN was not certain. However, the result should be interpreted in care. The safety of the treatment using ARTCM and WM could not be evaluated because a few studies had reported adverse effects. The results of the Metaanalysis were not stable enough. There was publication bias for the reports on Scr ( 0.001), C-Ⅳ ( 0.001), PC-Ⅲ ( 0.026), and LN ( 0.030) and no publication bias for the reports on BUN ( 0.293). The quality of evidence varied from low to very low. CONCLUSIONS: The combined treatment using ARTCM and WM to manage RF in patients with CKD has some advantages over treatment with WM alone. Highquality RCTs need to be conducted for the strong support.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of Xiangsha Liujun pills on the decreased digestive function in patients in the recovery phase of the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). METHODS: A randomized, double blind, placebo controlled clinical trial was conducted. A total of 200 COVID-19 patients in the recovery phase were included in our study in Ezhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Totally 200 subjects were randomly divided into a treatment group (Xiangsha Liujun pills) and a control group (placebo), with 100 in each group. Subjects took Xiangsha Liujun pills or placebo orally three times a day for two weeks. Three visits were scheduled at week 0 (baseline), week 1 (the middle of the intervention) and week 2 (the end of the intervention) for each eligible patient. The total efficacy rates for improving the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) symptoms (fatigue, poor appetite, abdominal distension and loose stools) and the disappearance rates of symptoms were observed and compared in the treatment and control groups. Adverse events were recorded during the study period. SAS 9.4 was used to analyze the data. RESULTS: A total of 200 patients were included in this study, among which 4 participants withdrew because the drugs did not work. Three patients were excluded for age. Before the treatment, there was no significant difference between the TCM symptoms scores of subjects. After 1 week of treatment, the full analysis set (FAS) showed that the efficacy rates for abdominal distension and loose stools in the treatment group were significantly higher than the control group ( 0.05). There were no significant differences in the efficacy rates for fatigue and poor appetite between the two groups (0.05). In addition, the disappearance rate of fatigue in the treatment group was significantly higher than the control group (0.05); there were no significant differences between the two groups after treatment in the rates of poor appetite, abdominal distension, and loose stools (>0.05). After 2 weeks of treatment, the efficacy rates for fatigue, poor appetite, abdominal distension, and loose stools in the treatment group were significantly higher than the control group (0.05). The disappearance rate of loose stools in the treatment group was significantly higher than the control group ( 0.05). However, there were no significant differences in the disappearance rates of fatigue, poor appetite, and abdominal distension between the two groups ( 0.05). No severe adverse events were reported by subjects during the study. CONCLUSIONS: This clinical study confirmed that Xiangsha Liujun pills can effectively improve the symptoms related to the decreased digestive function in COVID-19 convalescent patients.
