Efectividad de un programa preventivo promocional, en el cuidado de la salud bucal durante la primera infancia, dirigido a madres primíparas de niños menores de seis meses / Effectiveness of an educational and preventive program, in the care of the buccal health during the babyhood which concerns the primiparous mothers of children lower than six months

La presente investigación tuvo por objetivo determinar la efectividad de un programa educativo preventivo denominado "Odontobebe, un Perú sin Caries", en las madres primíparas de niños menores de seis meses, que se atendieron en el Hospital Aurelio Díaz Ufano y Peral del Seguro Social ESSALUD, ubicado en el distrito de San Juan de Lurigancho, Lima Perú. El diseño del presente trabajo de investigación fue de tipo longitudinal y pre-experimental con aplicación de pre y post test, cuya muestra estuvo conformada por 30 madres primíparas que cumplieron los criterios de inclusión previamente establecidos en esta investigación. Los resultados obtenidos fueron positivos; ya que el 100% de las madres seleccionadas participaron en el programa con un alto índice de asistencia (96%); lo que se ve reflejado en el incremento de conocimiento, de actitudes favorables y de prácticas saludables. Al finalizar la intervención y luego de aplicar la prueba estadística T para muestras relacionadas, con un nivel de confianza del 95% y un p- valor asociado al estadístico de contraste T (Sig. Bilateral = 0.000) similar en los tres casos analizados; se pudo determinar que, si existió una diferencia estadísticamente significativa tanto en el nivel de conocimiento, las actitudes y las prácticas de las madres, antes y después de la intervención.

This investigation had for objective to determine the effectiveness of the educational and preventive program "Odontobaby, a Peru without tooth decay", in the care of the buccal health during the babyhood which concerns the primiparous mothers of children lower than six months that were attended in the Aurelio Diaz Ufano y Peral Hospital of the Peruvian Social Security, ESSALUD; the one which is located in San Juan of Lurigancho's district in Lima-Peru. The study's design was longitudinal and pre-experimental, with application of pre and post test, whose sample was determined statistically and formed for 30 primiparous mothers that fulfilled the inclusion's criterions that were previously established in this investigation. The success was positive; the 100% of the primiparous mothers participated in the program with a high rate of attendance (96%). Besides, they were reflected in the increase knowledge, change of attitudes and adoption of healthy practices, later of the intervention's program. In conclusion, the results were very encouraging with a level of confidence of the 95% and p-value associated with the statistician of contrast T (Sig. Bilateral = 0.000) in the three cases analyzed with a significant difference between the knowledge, attitudes and practices of the mothers, in the care of the buccal health during the babyhood at the beginning and the ending of the program.
