História e memória da criação de um centro de convivência / History and memory of the creation of a coexistence center

RESUMO

Oficinas de produção de arte e cultura eram realizadas com os pacientes institucionalizados. Apesar da lógica diferente, os ideais do hospital psiquiátrico permeavam o funcionamento do Centro de Convivência Arthur Bispo do Rosário, que apenas em 2000 foi municipalizado e vinculado ao Distrito Sanitário Leste, abrindo-se à comunidade e consolidando-se como serviço substitutivo em saúde mental. CONCLUSÕES: Com o debate acerca da Reforma Psiquiátrica, o Centro de Convivência Arthur Bispo do Rosário foi criado, mas não conseguiu consolidar os princípios da luta antimanicomial enquanto perma.OBJETIVOS: Recontar, por meio da história oral, a história da criação do Centro de Convivência Arthur Bispo do Rosário. MÉTODOS: Estudo qualitativo, com coleta de dados por meio da história oral, narrada por pessoas que presenciaram ou participaram do s acontecimentos. As entrevistas foram realizadas com cinco trabalhadores do Centro de Convivência Arthur Bispo do Rosário, gravadas, transcritas e analisadas. Para análise, dividiram- se as entrevistas em categorias organizadas por ordem coerente, construindo uma narrativa da história da criação do Centro de Convivência Arthur Bispo do Rosário. RESULTADOS: Inspirada pelo ideal da Reforma Psiquiátrica e pela consolidação de serviços substitutivos de outras cidades, a equipe do Instituto Raul Soares deu início à criação do Centro de Convivência em 1992 dentro do espaço físico do hospital. nasceu vinculado ao hospital psiquiátrico. A psiquiatria tradicional e o modelo manicomial ofereceram resistência inicial à consolidação do serviço, que só foi concretizada com sua municipalização oito anos depois. (AU)

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVES: To tell, through oral history, the history of the creation of the Centro de Convivência Arthur Bispo do Rosário. METHODS: Qualitative study, with data collection through oral history, narrated by people who witnessed or participated in the events. The interviews were conducted with five workers from the Centro de Convivência, recorded, transcribed and analyzed. For analysis, the interviews were divided into categories organized by coherent order, constructing a narrative of the history of the creation of the Centro de Convivência Arthur Bispo do Rosário. RESULTS: Inspired by the ideal of the Psychiatric Reform and the consolidation of alternative services from other cities, the team from Instituto Raul Soares began the creation of Centro de Convivência in 1992 within the hospital's physical space. Art and culture production workshops were held with institutionalized patients. Despite the different logic, the ideals of the psychiatric hospital permeated the functioning of the Centro de Convivência Arthur Bispo do Rosário, which was only municipalized in 2000 and linked to the Eastern Sanitary District, opening to the community and consolidating itself as a substitute service in mental health. CONCLUSIONS: With the debate about the Psychiatric Reform, the Centro de Convivência Arthur Bispo do Rosário was created, but it failed to consolidate the principles of the anti- asylum fight while it remained linked to the psychiatric hospital. Traditional psychiatry and the asylum model offered initial resistance to the consolidation of the service, which was only fulfilled with its municipalization eight years later.
