Infecciones Respiratorias agudas virales: comportamiento en el niño menor de un año / Acute viral respiratory infections: IT'S BEHAVIOR in infants

RESUMEN

Se realizó un estudio prospectivo-descriptivo entre los meses de octubre de 2006 a febrero de 2007 en el Municipio San Antonio de los Baños, a 32 niños menores de 1 año que ingresaron en el Servicio de Pediatría, con cuadro clínico compatible con una infección respiratoria aguda (IRA), de posible etiología viral, para determinar las características clínicas, epidemiológicas y la etiología de las IRAs. Predominó la edad menor de 6 meses, los factores de riesgo predisponentes fueron el hábito de fumar y la convivencia con un familiar con IRA. El virus más identificado fue el Virus Sincitial respiratorio (VSR), seguido del Adenovirus (Adv) y el Enterovirus(AU)

ABSTRACT

We realized a prospective study between October from 2006 to February of 2007 in San Antonio de los Baños, to 32 children smaller than 1 year that entered in the pediatrics service, with compatible clinical situation with an Acute Respiratory Infections (IRA) of possible viral ethiology, to determine the clinical, epidemic characteristics and the ethiology of the IRAs. The age prevailed smaller than 6 months; the risk factors were the habit of smoking and the coexistence with some person with IRA. The most identified virus was the respiratory sincitial virus (VSR), followed by the adenovirus (Adv) and the enterovirus(AU)
