ABSTRACT
The determination of blood cholinesterase in toxicology is used for the monitoring of acute intoxications caused by pesticides of chemical type: organophosphates and carbamates. This work describes an analytic method for the diagnosis of these intoxications using two substrata: acetylcholine hydrochloride and acetylcholine iodide. Blood samples belonging to 20 patients suspected of presenting intoxication by pesticides were analyzed and the results obtained showed variations inside the normal and pathological range. Statistical tests such as the student-t test and the test for matched series were applied demonstrating that there are significant differences in the use of both substrata(AU)
