RESUMEN

Mucho se ha hablado sobre los mecanismos y factores relacionados con la fisiopatología de la Hipertensión Arterial, lo que ha promovido el interés de llegar a la esencia de un fenómeno que afecta a un gran porciento de la humanidad y aún cuando pareciera que todo se ha dicho existen razones que nos llevan al convencimiento que siempre hay algo nuevo por descubrir. En 1998, dos galenos salvadoreños dieron a la luz del mundo el fenómeno del Oxido Nítrico, descubrimiento que mereció el Premio Nobel de Medicina en el año correspondiente. En los pacientes hipertensos existe una alteración en la síntesis, o el efecto del Oxido Nítrico, la vasoconstricción hipertensiva se asocia sobre todo con una mayor degradación de este mediador por los radicales libres que se liberan en el endotelio disfuncional. La indotelina 1 que se sintetiza y libera en el endotelio vascular tiene papel relevante en algunas formas de hipertensión, este péptido promueve la liberación de radicales y de epóxidos vasoconstrictores derivados de la ciclooxigenasa. Por lo anterior expuesto, hoy por hoy se utilizan agentes antioxidantes y compuestos inhibidores de la xantinooxidasa en la Hipertensión Arterial(AU)

ABSTRACT

Much have been said about the mechanisms and factors to the physiopathology of hipertension, which has promoted the interest to reach the essence of a phenomenon that affects a large percentage of mankind and even when it seems that everything has been said there are reasons which lead us to the conviction that there is always something new to discover. In 1998, two salvadorian doctors brought the phenomenon of the Nitric Oxide, discovery that won the Nobel Prize in medicine in the year that coresponded. In hypertensive patients exist an alteration in the synthesis or the effect of Nitric Oxide, the hypertensive vasoconstriction is associated, more or less with a great degradation of this mediator for the free radicals that are liberated in the dysfunctional endothelium.The endothelin-1 that are synthesized and liberated in the vascular endothelium has an excellent function in some ways of arterial blood pressure,this peptide promoted the liberation of radicals and vasoconstrictors expoxide derivated of the cycloxidant. At the present-time there one used antioxidant agents and inhibitors compound of the Xanthine oxidase in arterial blood pressure(EU)
