RESUMO
O autor faz uma revisão bibliográfica na obra de James Tyler Kent a respeito do tema hierarquização de sintomas. Nos textos do autor é marcante a influência da filosofia de Emanuel Swedenborg. Apesar disto, na prática diária Kent tinha como principal hierarquia a escolha de sintomas gerais e de sintomas peculiares, tanto do paciente como do medicamento.(AU)
ABSTRACT
The author presents a bibliographical revision of the writings of James Tyler Kent concerning the hierarchy of symptoms. Despite in these writings it is remarkable the influence of the ideas of Immanuel Swedenborg, in his daily practice Kent prioritized general and peculiar symptoms, in both patients and the remedies.(AU)
