RESUMO

Introdução:

Ptose palpebral corresponde à abertura anormal da pálpebra superior em decorrênciada perda parcial ou total da função do músculo elevador (músculo levantador da pálpebrasuperior), ocasionada por doença adquirida ou congênita.

Método:

Neste trabalho, descreve-sea evolução e os resultados obtidos com a suspensão palpebral dinâmica com enxerto de fáscialata fixada ao tarso e músculo frontal.

Resultados:

No período entre 2000 a 2007, foram operadosseis pacientes portadores de blefaroptose bilateral consequente a oftalmoplegia crônicaprogressiva, os quais apresentaram resultado satisfatório com a técnica descrita.
ABSTRACT

Introduction:

Palpebral ptosis is a superior eyelid abnormal opening due partial or totalelevator muscle function, caused by acquired or congenital pathology.

Methods:

In thispaper, we describe the evolution and results gotten with the dynamic palpebral suspensionwith fascial sling to tarsal and to frontal muscle.

Results:

Six patients with chronic progressiveexternal ophtalmoplegia blepharoptosis were operated between 2000 and 2008. Wedescribed satisfactory results with the technique.
