RESUMO
O presente estudo teve como objetivo encontrar associações entre vulnerabilidade ao estresse no trabalho e qualidade de vida de enfermeiros. Participaram deste estudo 117 profissionais da área de enfermagem de uma cidade do interior de São Paulo, com amostra predominantemente feminina e idade variando entre 20 a 56 anos (M = 35 anos; DP = 8,9). Como instrumentos,utilizou-se a Escala de Vulnerabilidade ao Estresse no Trabalho (EVENT) e World Health Organization Quality of Life (WHOQOL-bref). Os resultados indicaram correlações significativase negativas e outras limítrofes entre as dimensões do EVENT, denominadas climae funcionamento organizacional; pressão no trabalho; infraestrutura e rotina. E os domínios do WHOQOL-bref, quais sejam, físico, psicológico, relações sociais, meio ambiente e geral, de forma que quanto maior a vulnerabilidade ao estresse laboral, menor a qualidade de vida relatada pelos respondentes. Por fim, são consideradas as contribuições e apontadas as limitações do estudo, com sugestões para futuros trabalhos.
ABSTRACT
This study aimed to find associations between vulnerability of stress at work and quality of life in nurses. The study included 117 nursing professionals from an inland city of São Paulo, with sample was predominantly female and aged 20 to 56 years (M = 35 years, SD = 8.9). The instruments used were the Scale of Vulnerability to Stress at Work (EVENT) and World Health Organization Quality of Life (WHOQOL-Bref). The results showed significant and negative correlations between dimensions of EVENT called climate and organizational functioning; pressure at work; routine and infrastructure. The domains of WHOQOL-Bref, namely, physical, psychological, social relationships, environment and general, so that, the more vulnerability to job stress, lower quality of life reported by respondents. Finally, we considered the contributionsand identify the limitations of the study, with suggestions for future work.
