ABSTRACT
BACKGROUND:
Migraine is a common neurological disorder, affecting one in seven people, and is the second leading cause of disability worldwide.OBJECTIVE:
The aim of this article is to summarise the diagnosis, pathophysiology and treatment of migraine.DISCUSSION:
Key to limiting the disability of migraine and progression to chronic migraine is addressing modifiable risk factors, including implementing effective preventive treatment and avoiding overuse of acute treatment.
