[Cholecystostomy in elderly patients in light of the immediate and late results]. / Kholetsistostomiia u bol'nykh pozhilogo vozrasta v svete blizhaishikh i otdalennykh rezul'tatov.

ABSTRACT

Cholecystotomies carried out upon 58 patients aged above 50 have been analyzed 22.4% of the patients died in the immediate postoperative period. In the late postoperative period good and fair results were found in 86.2% out of 21 followed-up patients 4 patients (13.8%) underwent the repeated cholecystostomy or cholecystectomy. The outcome was favorable. Some useful practical recommendations are suggested.
