ABSTRACT
168 patients who had general anaesthesia for Caesarean sections had their blood pressure changes analysed according to their response to syntometrine or syntocinon. Patients who received 5 units of syntocinon showed the greatest cardiovascular stability and it is suggested that this is the oxytoxic of choice for patients receiving general anaesthesia for Caesarean section.
