Diagnóstico imagenológico del íleo meconial / Imagenologic diagnosis of the meconial ileus

RESUMEN

El íleo meconial es una obstrucción del intestino delgado distal que representa la tercera causa más común de estas obstrucciones en neonatos; es la manifestación inicial de la fibrosis quística. En los últimos años los estudios imagenológicos han jugado un papel importante en el diagnóstico de esta enfermedad. Investigaciones realizadas revelan que en pacientes con peritonitis meconial los hallazgos radiológicos constituyen una fuente de valor diagnóstico, muestra a la ecografía como método diagnóstico de elección con una sensibilidad global que fluctúa entre el 50 y el 80 por ciento y una especificidad de 98 por ciento. Se realizó una revisión de la literatura para actualizar el tema en el diagnóstico imagenológico del íleo meconial y presentarlo como material de consulta (AU)

ABSTRACT

The meconial ileus is a small bowel obstruction that represents the third commonest cause of these obstructions in neonates, is the initial manifestation of the cystic fibrosis.In the last years the imagenologic studies have played an important role in the diagnosis of this disease. Investigations reveal that in meconial peritonitis patients the radiological findings constitute a source of diagnosis value, it shows the echography as a diagnosis method of choice with a global sensitivity that fluctuates between the 50 percent and 80 percent and one specificity of 98 percent. A revision of Literature was carried out to update the subject in the imagenologic diagnosis of the meconial ileus and to present it as of consultation material (AU)
