RESUMEN

En este artículo examinamos algunas de las variables que han contribuido a la marcada heterogeneidad del campo de la psicoterapia. Nuestro objetivo es, por el contrario, resaltar los aspectos comunes de las distintas tradiciones teórico-clínicas en el tratamiento de los problemas mentales. Para ello, examinamos la cuestión de la eficacia de la psicoterapia, los principios básicos del cambio psicológico propuestos por modelos transteóricos y el reciente debate sobre los sistemas diagnósticos en salud mental (AU)

ABSTRACT

In this paper we examine some of the variables that have contributed to the marked heterogeneity within the field of psychotherapy. Our goal is, in contrast, to highlight the common features of the different theoretico-clinical traditions in the treatment of mental problems. To this end, we shall examine the issue of the efficacy of psychotherapy, the basic principles of psychological change proposed by transtheoretical models, and the recent debate on diagnostic systems in mental health (AU)
