ABSTRACT
Fractures of mandible make up approximately two-thirds of all facial fractures. The presence of teeth in the fracture line apparently represents an increased risk for infection compared to a fracture where no teeth are involved. The surgeon should consider whether to remove or maintain the tooth. Treatment of jaw fractures with teeth in the fracture line is a controversial issue. In this study a clinical case is presented, where the effectiveness and benefits of the implant placement after dentoalveolar trauma due to a mandibular fracture were discussed. It was verified that the procedure is predictable, since well done, in order to obtain aesthetic and functional results.
