ABSTRACT
This inaugural Global State of Peer Review report has been developed to investigate the state of scholarly journal peer review. To do that, we have focused on four big questions, each of which form a chapter in this report. 1. Who is doing the review? 2. How efficient is the peer review process? 3. What do we know about peer review quality? 4. What does the future hold?
