Interações dialógicas de familiares de sujeitos com deficiência mental: algumas reflexões / Dialogical interactions between individuals with mental retardation and their relatives: some reflections

RESUMO

Este texto refere-se ao estudo de encontros de familiares (pais e irmãos) de sujeitos com deficiência mental, atendidos em uma clinica-escola de fonoaudiologia. Estes encontros, que permitem a discussão sobre o desenvolvimento e as peculiaridades nos sujeitos em atendimento fonoaudiológico, devem-se ao fato de a família ser o primeiro contexto de sociabilidade de qualquer pessoa, tendo papel mediador fundamental em todo o processo de aprendizagem, além de a dinâmica de inter-relações que se estabelece nas famílias produzir transformações continuas nos sentimentos e concepções de todo o grupo familiar. O presente estudo teve por objetivo, ao analisar estes encontros, identificar como o processo de interlocução ali ocorrido constrói ou reconstrói sentidos e concepções a respeito do sujeito com deficiência mental. Para atingir tal objetivo, o estudo fundamentou-se na analise microgenética enquanto abordagem metodológica que se insere numa matriz histórico-cultural e semiótica nos processos humanos. As reuniões foram gravadas e, para a analise aqui apresentada, foram selecionados os episódios que focalizavam as relações intersubjetivas e as concepções nos familiares sobre os sujeitos deficientes. Os resultados indicaram que o envolvimento da família no processo terapêutico pode contribuir para a constituição do sujeito em seu grupo social, embora, não necessariamente, os sentidos produzidos durante as reuniões sejam positivos em relação aos sujeitos com deficiência mental. Entretanto, só ao entrar em contato com concepções e sentimentos em relação a eles e que os familiares podem rever tais sentimentos, estabelecendo-se ai uma possibilidade de modificá-los.(AU)

ABSTRACT

This paper refers to a study of meetings of individuals with mental retardationns with their relatives (parents and siblings) at a speech therapy clinic-school. These meetings that allow discussion about the development and the peculiarities of the individuals receiving speech therapy attention are held because the family is the first context for sociability, having a fundamental mediating role in all the learning process. In addition, the dynamics of interrelations established within families produces continuous transformations in the feelings and conceptions of the whole family group. The present study had as objective to analyze these meetings, and to identify how the dialogue process happening there builds or reconstructs conceptions regarding the individual with mental retardations. The study was based on microgenetic analysis as a methodological approach that is implanted in a context of cultural-historical and semiotic human processes. The meetings were recorded, and episodes focusing on the subjective relationship and on the relatives' conceptions of the deficient individuals were selected. The results indicated that the involvement of the family in the therapeutic process can contribute to the individuals constitution in his/her social group, although the perceptions produced during the meetings are not necessarily positive in relation to the individual with mental retardation. However, only when entering into contact with conceptions and feelings in relation to them the relatives are able to review such feelings, making possible their modification.(AU)
