ABSTRACT
Airway mucus is an important part of the defense barrier function of the airway. Abnormal secretion of airway mucus is closely related to recurrent attacks, delay or aggravation of respiratory infectious or infectious diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary diseaseCOPD), community-acquired pneumonia, and coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Lianhua Qingke tablets, an innovative traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) developed under the guidance of the theory of collateral disease of TCM, has the function of reducing phlegm and relieving cough, which can reduce the generation and viscosity of sputum and promote sputum excretion. Clinical studies have shown that it can significantly improve the symptoms of expectoration and cough in patients with acute bronchitis or COVID-19, confirming its scientific connotation and clinical value of reducing phlegm and relieving cough to improve ventilation and exchanging function.
