ABSTRACT
The aim of this study was to describe the behavioral repertory that constitutes the different categories of social interactions between D. novemcinctus armadillos through the observation of five specimens kept in captivity. It was concluded that the social behavior of male D. novemcinctus differs when it interacts with individuals of the same gender and with individuals of different genders. Males are responsible for the approach during the interactions with females. Besides, the study of these animals in a confined place allowed a more detailed description of the behavioral repertory showed by D. novemcinctus of both genders. Despite the reduced number of individuals, this preliminary information contributed to generate knowledge in which concerns the poorly-known biology of these animals.
